The hotel was clean. But wasn’t organized and didn’t have ice. Had to request for water in the morning for breakfast and the water was hot.
The property is located in a quiet part of town which I really enjoyed
This hotel was very nice, I traveled here from the USA to visit a close friend. The hotel driver Kweku picked me up at the airport late at night, despite my flight being delayed. He was very friendly. There is a staff member positioned at the front gate to ensure your safety and that no unwanted vehicles enter. The girls at the front desk were very welcoming and checked on me several times throughout my stay to make sure I was happy with my room. I got the junior suite which was simple but nice. The pool and outdoor bar area are beautiful and relaxing. The food from the restaurant was very good and the cook was very friendly. The staff even did my laundry for me which I thought was great. The hotel manager Eric was very nice, he even took me and my friend around to tourist sites that were hours away from the hotel. Everyone here really wanted to make sure I had a positive experience. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
The staff was great but a little trouble with electricity beside everything was great.
Not as expected.
I have been to this hotel on two previous occasions and found it overall to be very good but on this visit I was very disappointed. To start with I had arranged to be collected from the airport by the hotel services and for the second time they failed to show up so had to pay for a taxi myself. Standards have dropped dramatically and amenities have somewhat deteriorated. Food menu is good but they seldom have much that is on it. The hotel itself is looking a bit tired and in need of some TLC and the bedrooms certainly need some tidying up as regards decor. It is a large hotel but for the first week or so I am sure that my wife and I were the only guests as the only other people I saw were staff, that should tell you something. As I said, the staff are very good but I reserve judgement on the management, it would appear that if there are few guests then they have no intention of buying anything they can avoid. IE food. Young staff members insist on firing up their Black Youth Music at about 7 in the morning and keeping it going full blast right up till nightfall so unless you are into that stuff avoid this hotel. As for the room, yes there is a fridge and AC, TV, although not a lot of choice, the usual kettle and a hair dryer that cannot be used effectively because they run the cable through the base of one of the drawers so that distance is very restricted. Too many other things to mention in this short revue but overall I would not recommend this hotel any more.
Nice hotel but not central
Staff were very helpful. Pool DJ was rubbish and played awful music so loud conversation was impossible. Not for families but a comfortable base for us. Away from the city centre and traffic getting anywhere was horrendous.
So peaceful
Really enjoyed my stay. Would definitely stay again. Liked the 24 hour room service/restaurant and bar. Definite pluses!
I enjoyed my stay
My experience at Aknac Hotel was great. I really enjoyed my stay. Only that the ACs were not chilling enough. I love the interiors hospitality customer service etc.
Clean and Friendly staff
our stay at Aknac hotel was amazing. great service and a friendly staff
Newish hotel; impossible to find; poor service
Aknac Hotel appears relatively new, but is poorly managed. Or there is no management. The staff mean well but are clueless. It is impossible to find the hotel -- in a maze of dirt roads. The hotel phone number the staff gave us so we could give it to a taxi driver to get directions did not work. I was locked out of my room twice, the second time for an hour. It has cardkeys but no maintenance. It was clear after the staff got the door open the first time that the battery in the lock was low. They said they would replace the battery the next morning. I personally made the request at the front desk in the evening and again with the day staff in the morning. When I got back, the door would not open because the battery was dead. It took an hour to find someone who could fix it. I called a colleague in another room but she did not answer. I tried her room again from the front desk, and then decided to put a note under her door. But she was there -- she said she didn't hear the phone ring. In fact, we found there was no phone in her room! The fan switch was hidden behind a bed headboard that was pushed flush to the wall. The satellite TV did not work for two days. The dining room staff just scribbled orders on scraps of paper. There was no way to check on how the order charges were transferred to the room. A colleague had prepaid transport from the hotel to the airport but the hotel said they had never heard of it. Another said she had a mouse in her room when she arrived.
Off the beaten path
Hotel was ok, pictures online were deceiving. A/C units were inadequate for the hotel. I chose this hotel for my honeymoon. The room was always hot even after moving twice i just quit asking. Service in dining hall and pool was good, food was good for what was available.
Not very good location, as it is far from amenitie
Real good staff and very friendly, Internet problem in the rooms, Overall hotel is too hot most of the time. Breakfast is poor and almost always the same. Gym, most of equipment aged badly and not working. very bad smell not nice
RUN AWAY ITS A NIGHTMARE
Nightmare.....no shuttle, no internet, bugs in room and food, no hot water, no stable prices when ordering from menu, held hostage by management, burned clothes, constant power outages of electricity, no accessibility that's reliable, tv doesn't work, etc. Hotel looks pretty but it was a NIGHTMARE!!!
Quit hotel and hospitable
I'v stayed in three third world hotels it not much but I no whats I like in a hotel that is a friendly staff and a clean rooms.
happy guest
Nice quiet getaway serene environment. Perfect location if you want to get away from the hustle nd bussle of the city.
Great stay, however the Internet connection was really bad. Great room assistant help. Food was great as well.
First visit
It was nice for the price
Excellent first choice.
Love this hotel. Staff friendly and rooms neat and clean. Would stay here again and again.
Wonderful and well worth the money!
First rate hotel and accomodations. Service and food are second to none. Out of the way hotel but definitely realxing and hospitable.
RECOMMEND TO ANYONE. WELL WORTH THE MONEY!
wONDERFUL
Quiet hotel , in a residential area
Very pleasant hotel , clean and maintained. Friendly helpful staff and very accommodating.
Accra Break!
Excellent! I will be returning..
Really nice boutique hotel very good for the price
For the price this is an excellent hotel, clean and well presented, with good food. My only issue was the pool the water did not look as clean as it should be.
Far from town
The air conditioning doesn't work efficiently. And same breakfast everyday
Would Do It Again!
Very difficult to find at night. The very best of the 3 we stayed in Ghana. Staff pleasant and very courteous. Restaurant reasonable with enough variety. Great getaway from hustle of central Accra for a couple. Would definitely stay again.
Nice n quiet hotel in a good neighbourhood.
Had a great stay in the hotel. Good service n caring staff. However billing for food n other services were frankly not good n need to be organised. It's like cash n carry rather than charged against the room to be paid later or upon checking out. I hope this would be looked into n done in a proper manner.
Accra Airport
A cheap place by the airport. This is a 2 star hotel.
The hotel with power and Internet issues
This hotel is ok for accra, the staff and management are very polite, however, the food takes around 1 hr from ordering and is limited on selection. Set in its grounds, the hotel is of 3 star quality despite being advertised as 4. The road to it is like a farm track, and is around 40 mins drive from the airport. The drive is full of traffic and is not lit at night, restaurants are limited. If you want a base for traveling then it's ok, but for business I don't recommend as the power fails 4 or 5 times a day, only for a few mins, and Internet is about 10% available daily.
The hotel
The hotel was very nicely situated in a beautiful and quiete neighborhood. I am sure within the next month the repairs/ upgrades will be completed. I am looking to book there again. One thing to remember. The hotel is about twenty minutes from the city of Accra
More like a 2 star hotel
The stay was okay
Would stay again
Large spacious rooms. Friendly staff. Bathrooms need refurbishing. Otherwise great stay. Friendly staff and nice food. I would stay again.
great stay
I had a very nice 5day stay
nice stay
Had a nice stay. Will definitely be back
Everyone was very nice and helpful. I enjoyed my stay there truly. If i could change one thing it would be to keep the a/c running while im gone so i may walk into a cold room how i like. Besides that i will definitely go back.
If it was easier to get to.......
Nice hotel with a few issues, the main one is it's location. When I say "location", the area is nice, it's just a bit of a trek to get anywhere like the Accra Mall. The journey, by car/taxi takes about 25 minutes if the roads are clear (which they usually are not) and costs about 25 cedi's. The Staff are very friendly and the rooms are good, but we changed rooms twice because of more than one minor problem. Firstly the safe didn't work (room 113) which we read about on "Trip Adviser" from someone who had this room about 4 months before we did, so it had not been fixed in those 4 months, then room 213 which had a bad TV signal, Toilet roll holder broken & intermittent working hair dryer and poor wifi reception. The restaurant lighting in the evening was a bit too dim, had trouble reading the menu, but the food was good. Breakfast was good with a very obliging chef, but the waiter service was a bit hit & miss as to whether you help yourself to the tea & coffee or it was served to you at the table. Having said all this, this is GHANA, and as such, this hotel (for the price) is good and if it had better access from the Tema to Accra Motorway or the Spintex Road, it would be packed, and our choice of Hotel in Accra
Lovely hotel miles from anywhere
I made my first visit to Ghana for a funeral in Accra and chose the Aknac as a nice looking, quiet, suburban hotel. I wasn't wrong. It's a nice hotel, suburban, and extraordinarily quiet owing to it being MILES away from anywhere. I wish my relatives had told me this before I booked. It would certainly have saved all the comments every time I had to be driven 45 minutes in and out of the back of beyond to get anywhere. Even taxi drivers complained or just refused to come that distance to pick me up. Obviously it's not the hotel's fault for being where it is. They could however stop pretending that they're just off the motorway. Yes, you can see it from your hotel balcony, just a couple of blocks away, it's just you actually have to drive five miles out to get to the nearest exit onto it. I also have to mention this, for anyone interested in sampling the hotel pool. On my first night in the hotel I went onto the balcony (to view the motorway) and heard little splashes in the pool below. On investigating, I realised there were two toads having some kind of swimming and diving competition in and out of the pool. Refreshing. Look, it's a nice hotel, it's just got a few wee flaws, some of which it can't help. I was however in mourning, so might view things differently a second time around.
My stay
It as very nice and quiet, they served delicious meal, especially Ghanaian cuisine. The hotel staffs were very receptive. In general I enjoyed my stay.
Comfy beds, Nice hotel
The hotel is good for relaxation and if you want to stay away from city noise, the interior decors are wonderful, Quality of service is excellent e.g free breakfast, clean room, check-up on you to see if you need further assistance. Complimentary shuttle to and fro the airport (about 10 mins drive). The only clause is the untarred road on the street where the hotel is located
Great, helpful staff. Beautiful, clean pool
From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and accommodated. I have a food allergy and they were very helpful in this way also, making sure I got the food I needed. The room was nice, clean and everything worked well. They were doing a bit of work on the hotel, but we didn't even hear any of the noise. The pool was amazing and just what we needed. It is a little difficult to find as it is "out of the way" but it is worth the effort. Happy traveler!
SPLENDID!
Room was cosy, food was okay, internet connection- really really good...location is a bit far from Accra but still not too bad...i give this hotel 8/10
Excellent Hotel for a relaxing holiday.
I stayed at the Aknac for 11 nights, and through out the period found the staff warm and welcoming. The cleaning staff were very polite and always smiling. My room, a Junior Suite, was very spacious with a comfortable bed, a mini fridge and tea/coffee making facilities, and I had no problem with the wi-fi service. I had a slight problem with the AC in my room after a couple of days, and as soon as I reported it to the Manager I was moved into another room with a military efficiency. The Manager was very understanding and accommodating - my warmest appreciation to Justice and his team!
The hotel is very nice, but the wifi is really really bad. It only works during normal business hours which led us to believe that they were turning it off on purpose. And giving an excuse that there were technical difficulties with it. And it seems like they were doing the same thing with the tv service also. Some channels were missing and after a regular showing, the channel will all of a sudden just go off.
Middle of nowhere
Hotel is 30 mins from main road in the middle of nowhere. No internet constant power outages. SAVE YOUR MONEY GO SOMEWHERE ELSE !!!
Satisfaction Guaranteed!
Far out
This hotel is a joke. Far from everything. They claim to be 20 minutes from Accra center - but it takes more than 60 minutes outside rushhours. You have to eat at the hotel, you cannot go anywhere. The whole setup is a joke. Lots of marble - and not really finished. The worst are the curtains - that lets ind in the morning sun - if you were not already awaken from the roosters who starts at 4 am. The food is ok and cheap. Service kind of ok. But the hotel is a joke. There are no costumers either. I left it - even though I prepaid. If you want a laugh - go there.
This hotel is very adequate
The hotel is along way from anywhere, it is remote, but is only 20mins from the airport, and you can find a few shops within 10mins drive. Some reviews said this hotel is as good as a 300USD hotel nearer the centre or on the beach, this is not true it is a nice hotel, and is good value, for the price you will not be disappointed The breakfast is ok on Ghana standards, once again is adequate. I got a room with a pool view, very nice, and has a balcony. The pool area looks nice, but the pool has a bad design fault, it has no shallow end, just deep end and a baby pool, in my view the worst design pool in the world, hence you will notice that virtually no one swims in it!!! I stayed for 2 nights before flying back to UK, is ok for a very short stay, and is close to the airport. There is also a gym, but this can only be used at certain times, and you will need an instructor
Very impressed
Mr Pels-Tandoh was very happy with the hotel.
Money / Performance
If you don't want to pay a lot of money you can stay here but if you are capable to pay little bit more you should look better places
Gorgeous Hotel Experience
It was nice and quiet.
This hotel is WAY out of town!!!
Please note the staff is very nice, though the hotel is not 1st world quality, and there is nothing in the surrounding area. It takes 1:30 to get to town due to the traffic.
Over night stay
A friendly welcome awaits you when you get through all the traffic in Accra to the hotel. Room was clean and comfortable Breakfast was ok as breakfasts go. Staff were friendly and helpful. I Think you could get more for what you pay for.
Above average for Accra
Adequate internet, room was comfortable. Food was disappointing. Location is a bit remote. Staff was friendly.
Not the best customer srvce but great pool & clean
This hotel is a bit far from the main attractions but the rooms are clean and the pool is pretty nice. The only issue we had was when ordering food. In one instance, we didn't get the food we ordered and instead of fixing the order altogether, the waitress tried to take a shortcut. Ultimately, we requested the manager who was nice enough to comp a dessert but they still charged us for an order that was incorrect.
The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The service can be improved as I ordered a pizza one evening and it took almost and hour before it arrived. Had to keep reminding the reception for Hotel amenities but they kept forgetting. The location of the Hotel is difficult to find at first but you get used to to.Overall very good and will stay again.
Good Hotel with a horrible location
The location of the hotel is completely misleading. And to top it all when I call the reception they provided incorrect information. I was looking for a hotel which was closer to the city centre. The location mentioned on the website is incomplete and misleading, by the time I reached the hotel I was regretting my decision to stay here. In regards to the room and hotel, its ok. For me the distance and surrounding is a big NO.
Relaxing holiday
Stayed here for 11 nights of our 18 night holiday in Ghana. We were made to feel very welcome, and when small issues arose the excellent staff quickly responded to put things right. Lovely clean rooms and comfy beds. The hotel is not close to the centre but in my opinion this is a plus as the location is very relaxing. Only one minor criticism relating to speed of service at dinner - only two in the restaurant and waited over one hour for food on a few occasions. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks to all staff for your kind attention :)
The room, customer service and cleanliness were all great. The food from the hotel's restaurant was good as well. However, the major issue I had was the wifi signal was very poor. When I did get a signal it was weak but most of the time I had no signal at all.
I booked this hotel for one of my partners from the uk and she liked it very much although there was traffic in the mornings.
Absolutely a great place to stay, the surroundings were so beautiful, nice and clean. The staff at the hotel consisted of some of the finest people I have ever met, two were outstanding Mary and Bless.
Friendly Staff
Staff and the hotel is lovely only draw back is, its a bit far out from town 30min in traffic, but one would pay alot more for a hotel of this standard in town.
Very quiet and roomy
The staff at the Aknac Hotel are really the best I have encountered in the region.
disappointing
Was far from everything, needed an expensive taxi whenever I wanted to go out. The bathroom was not very clean, the bedspread had a rip in it. The food was good but service was very slow.
Very Restful and tranquil grouds
This was my 5th stay at the Aknac Hotel. I really like the attentiveness and professionalism of the staff. I especially like the airport transfer service and willingness to help with local travel arrangements.
Nice hotel, serene and comfortable
Wonderful. A really decent place to spend your holidays and away from all the bustle and hustle of city life.
definitley recommend
Cordial staff, comfortable and clean rooms, surrounding neighborhood is nice.
Nice Hotel ...will return
To be honest, both my husband and I were a bit put off that the staff were not more personable at first, but as the week went on, and the staff began to get to know us, they were much more friendly. I am a very friendly and outgoing person and to give a smile and not have it returned for several days may have effected my descision in the future to return or not. Thankfully by the end of the week, we felt more at ease. The facilities were very clean which was pleasing. When coming to visit family in Ghana, we will be returning to Aknac.
Super Hotel
Calling Aknac a super hotel is simply an understatement; so glad i chose this hotel. Had a swell time; we were treated like royalties and all the staffs were super friendly and helpful. Their meals are fantastic... Although the location is a bit far from town, one can easily get a reasonably priced cab to any location. The pool area looks lovely in the day and magnificent at night.. Got a standard room; lovely with comfortable bed... Could go on and on really...Will definitely be staying at The Aknac Hotel the next time i visit Accra.
Convenient to airport and shopping malls
My daughters and I enjoyed our stay, we plan to come back next summer and stay at the hotel.
Disappointing Hotel
Always had to ask for face clothes until we finally decided to purchase our own. One face cloth that we were given appeared to have 3 blood stains. The elevator did not work until the morning we checked out. Had the "Do Not Disturb " sign on the door and the supervisor for cleaning people still knocked and then sent a guy in to do measurements. Trying to get 2 keys for our room was like pulling teeth. When we did the door lock failed and we gave one back. They fixed the electronic lock but broke the privacy lock on the door. Then across the hall and other places near our room there was the sound of drilling, hammering and other misc. noises. They 2nd Floor WiFi almost never worked in the room. The menu has numbers, but the staff still managed to get the order wrong. Then when it was wrong I was bothered by the food manager who was trying to sell me the wrong dish at a discount. It was cold when it came and I finally bought it just to get him off my back. And to top it off the transport to the airport made me think I was going to have to pay. Then he said it was free. They offered to give me a discount to stay our 3rd week; we declined. I would probably turn down a free stay. There was a couple of nice people that worked at the hotel; like the breakfast manager. Some of the staff are challenged when it comes to English.
Bad location
Difficult to find its address
Good value for money, with excellent staff
Good value for money and the staff and management are friendly and accommodating. It is a little outside of the main are, but that is reflected in the price, and we wanted somewhere with a pool.
Good for Leisure
The Hotel is good and the service is also good. The location is far away from the main city and therefore commuting up and down is a hassle.
Great little hotel :-)
The Family owners Eva and Norma are excellent and helpful, the staff is amazing, friendly and kind. If you are out in Trassaco Valley it's a great place to hangout.
Clean, friendly staff
Nice hotel, ESP for Ghana, in rich part of town- air conditioning, warm water, television
beware of power outages
Power was out for about 30 hours of our stay. Be sure their generator is working before booking your reservation. Air conditioning and refrigeration are impossible without power. Towels were older and dingy. Never got the extra towels requested from the front desk. Bathroom was in fair shape. Continental breakfast was good. Beware the menu has tons of beverages but none of them are available.
Fair stay
Stayed only for one short night at a business trip. The room was clean, well equipped. Staff is very helpful.
Disappointing
The hotel is clean and the rooms are ok. The mattress is rock hard. Room service was fine. Cooked breakfast was good most times, other times omelettes were inedible. Dinner was good though some items on the menu were just never available throughout my time there. I didn't use the pool which was cleaned daily. One of the reasons I booked the hotel was the advertised internet access which was essential to me and which is included in the price. In reality, the internet was down for most of my stay, very inconvenient and not happy about that. There was a general lack of tourist information and lack of knowledge of internet access or other amenities outside the hotel which gives the impression the hotel is for the casual user somewhere just to lay your head, rather than business or tourist user. The restaurant and bar staff were pleasant and helpful. Feedback about certain issues I felt was not handled professionally. The hotel has good potential but for me, Disappointed and wouldn't stay again.
Pleasant hotel in quiet location
I quite liked being away from the hustle and bustle of central Accra, however, unless you have your own transport or driver, expect to pay 25 to 30 cedis for a taxi to central Accra, about £8.30 to £10.00. Some issues with maintenance/housekeeping i.e. broken toilet roll holder and broken towel rail on the back of the bathroom door, moved the rubber mat inside the bath to a better position and noticed the underside was filthy and black with mold; smelly fridge however that was cleaned up promptly. No laundry bags in the room or laundry price list. Take laundry to reception and they will arrange it for you, seems to be same day service if you hand it in before 10am though you need to pay in cash when laundry is delivered to you. However, overall, rooms were clean and pleasant, mattress is very hard but did not affect my sleep, bathroom is nice. Room service and breakfast very good, generally the food was good though some items were consistently not available and should have been deleted from the menu.Wifi access inconsistent, unavailable for 4 whole days but not necessarily concurrent days, other times available til midnight only though not during the day. Restaurant staff and general staff are very pleasant and helpful though some front desk staff would benefit from better training in customer service. Not sure if feedback is actually getting through, Management needs to be more involved. Hotel is adequate, not quite luxury or boutique, you may need to manage your expectations.
nice ambience
We chose this hotel because we wanted a place out of town to rest from our busy schedules and it was a great choice. The staff are very friendly and willing to help although the service was not as fast as we were used to. I will recommend this for anyone looking for a quiet place out of town.
Wonderful cheap hotel!
Very nice, clean and pleasant hotel. Great staff. Nice pool. Quite place and very cheap comparing other hotels in Ghana. Only issue is a distance of 20-30min from airport area. But if you plan your time, there is not a big issue!
Excellent - especially internet
Aknac hotel is an lounge style hotel with a nice cent of Africa. It has a theme of white with some black, especially velvet black. It's all clean and polite staff. AirCon are everywhere, powercuts may happen for a 1 minute a couple of times a day. All rooms has fans, fridge, aircon, safe, work desk, tv, and excellent bed and bathroom. The hotel is located in a fancy to be developed area, so there are not so much to do or look at, exept than half contructed buildings. Internet is working well - Visited to extreme upper class hotels closer to Accra city centre and their internet was not as good and not as easy to log-on to. The internet useability of Aknac help make it feel like home. Once you were close to the hotel building you are logged on to one of thier wi-fi points.
Clean, reasonably priced, free WiFi, good food, and a caring, kind staff.
What to know before you book...
We checked in here after great reviews from other guests. While the room was satisfactory, the dining experience was quite disappointing. The included breakfast is not consistant - some days there was a good selection, other days no coffee and no butter!! Can you imagine a hotel without butter in the restaurant? Dinner menu entrees sound good but when you order you get something entirely different. And, inquiring about changes and preparations, simple non english speakers merely say "this is the way it comes". Also, be aware that the menu and wine list are merely examples of what they MIght have. Most items not available. Front desk staff was very helpful. Internet was down every night for unexplained reasons. Lastly, while this might be a good hotel to 'get away' it is not convenient at all to downtown Accra - our taxi ride was over an hour to town.
Disappoiting
They have great pics, that makes you think that the Hotel is great. The staff is wonderful, just like Ghanaian people usually are, but the distance from the town and specially the often lack of energy and internet make this hotel very very disappoiting.... ANd what should I say about the cleanliness? Cockroach in my room....
great hotel to relax at
Hotel was great from the moment we were collected from the airport in a complimentary taxi. Checked in at 11pm very hot. Just mentioned to my wife that I was thirsty and two drink arrived from the bar. Bar and restaurant service is irritatingly slow but seems to be normal practice in Ghana. Accra was a 30 minute taxi ride away but we did a deal with the taxi driver who collected us from the airport and used him each time. Overall, a great hotel if you done need to be within walking distance of central Accra.
Is a prison and wrongly named a four-star hotel
I'm a frequent traveler and staying in this, what's called "Aknac hotel", was the worst experience in my life.
Nice hotel
The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. It's a little off the beaten path, but taxis are everywhere.
Good, clean, pleasant hotel
Rooms clean and service good with very friendly staff, kitchen/dining; maids & reception. Shower, air conditioning, food and pool all good overall providing a very pleasant relaxing stay. The only downside is the distance from the centre as often traffic is very busy but this is not something the hotel staff can control. If being close to the centre is important then perhaps this is not the best place but otherwise highly recommended.
It was okay. The hotel rooms could do with a bigger TV and probably better tv channels. Dstv is recommended
Away from city noise; good for studies, meditation
The quiet environment was very suitable for my studies. Their tables and chairs can be better. The hotel staff help to call up taxis, though ample notice will ensure the arrival of the taxi on time.
Quiet neighbourhood far away from anything
It was OK. I met the owner who was very receptive about my comments and she did something about it. I would stay there again if it was not so far away from the office from where we operate. Friendly staff and service.
This is not a 4 star
The staff were great. The hotel rooms are small with little or no furniture. Choices on the food menu where restricted with some items not avaliable for the whole two weeks I spent there. The lift was out of service the whole time as well. The pictures on the internet look very good but you will be disapointed if you expect what you see. The pool is not cleaned daily and I could not smell any chlorine in the water. The hotel is OK but it is most certainly not a 5 star. Maybe a 2/3 stare with 5 star prices.
Over rated hotel
Could be but is far from a 4 star hotel more like a 2 star Location is poor taxis needed to go anywhere Accomodation is poorly put together Must have Visa card although it does take Mastercard when the machine works Took 4 hours to try and pay my bill with Visa ok but I had Mastercard Has potential the staff are very helpful My Junior Suite was spacious and thats the only thing going for it plus the aircon
Nice and friendly
Very nice hotel but it is off the beaten track - not easy to get to and it's away from any of the interesting places in Accra. Hotel staff are very helpful, though, to get you where you want to go. TERRIFIC internet connection, beautiful pool, nice rooms. Food is good quality but service is VERY slow - especially the bar.
Far from city centre but if you like the peace and quite can't fault it. Might be an idea if they had some tourist information and maps.
An oasis in Accra
I enjoyed very much my 9 day stay at the Aknac Hotel in the neighborhood of Trassaco in Accra, Ghana. The personnel were all outstanding, from the reception desk to the room cleaning crew. The only area where we find that improvements can be made is in the handling ot laundry service. In addition, the hallways in the second and third level could benefit from a better ventilation system to prevent kitchen odors to find their way to the hallways.
An Oasis in Africa
We found the hotel is in a quiet location the staff were well trained and attentive the food was well prepared and served I recomend the Aknac without reservation
Nice hotel, but too far to Accra. (two hours travel due to traffic)
family holiday
Staff very helpful and friendly. Menu is very poor most times what you order they don't have it. Not really a family hotel but more of a hotel for business people.

Everything is bad about this hotel. Worse hotel I ever been to.
