I was not sure what to expect when arriving . I have been blown away by the staff and hotel. Top notch staff and hard working team. Great food and smiles I’ll be back each time I travel from the USA to Ghana
Just as indicated above. I did not need to park any vehicle, hence, couldn’t comment on this. Overall service was good, staff very helpful, food options great and proximity to Accra Mall made it an icing on the cake
Bad customer relations
I was bitten by bed bugs!!! The staff were very friendly and helpful. But, it is an old property with challenges that come with unaddressed issues (inconsistent air, security concerns, and location constraints for guests).
The 4 star rating that was listed is definitely based on the amenities offered (ie restaurant, pool, etc) as the rooms are outdated. The lobby is beautifully maintained, was always cool, and smelled wonderfully… but that’s where it ended. There are very small changes or enhancements needed that would make the rooms more appealing. The hallways and rooms need a facelift. The hotel is average at best. Pros - comfortable beds and nice toiletries provided. Although the menu was limited and they were out of items daily, it was nice to have the option of dining onsite. Cons - the face covering was missing on the door, the outlets were loose and nonexistent for the most part. The room is large (we had a double queen) but the hotel doesn’t make good use of the space. There is no storage in the bathroom. It’s possible this is because the water seeps from the shower onto the floor. Lastly the furniture/dresser was outdated and hard to access.
Lovely hotel and incredibly hospitable staff.
Very close to the airport and downtown area. Great location. Breakfast was delicious.
My husband and I stayed here twice this year and loved it. We will definitely return if we come back to Ghana. So beautifully decorated for Christmas!
Very professional staff, beautiful decor, great dining
For 3 adults, we’ve been given a room with 2 single.
Good
Excellent service
Very convenient location and nice environment
It was ok but at breakfast only protein was seafood i don't eat seafood this was my second time
Pleasant staff. Can do with upgrade.
Good Hotel
It has easy parking the pool is long
Nothing so far
The service was flawless and impeccable , and the staff's exceptional hospitality was noteworthy. However, I felt that the hotel's amenities and overall experience didn't quite live up to the high price tag. For the cost, I anticipated a more remarkable and distinctive experience, but unfortunately, it didn't quite deliver
Beautiful place.
Very good
Very nice

Good
Loved hotel service and meals. Wished it wasn’t by a busy road, but made it accessible to get around.
Very nice
The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. The massage therapists are top knotch. The dining is excellent and the rooms are great. I enjoyed my stay and would definitely go back.
Friendly staff & delicious buffet
The staff were amazing, they welcome us with a beautiful smile and are so eager to assist you with any issues. I love the african theme decoration and the many varieties of authentic african foods. The yam fries was so delicious and i like the fact that they cut them small. The burger that we ordered was cooked to perfection. I will definitely stay here again and iam glad that i chose this hotel for my son's first experience in Ghana.
Appreciated the airport shuttle. Very comfortable property where we enjoyed a quiet spacious room. Good breakfast. Very nice staff. Good check-in. We would stay there again.
I’ve stayed there twice before and never had any complaints but this time was terrible they wouldn’t change currency then phone didn’t work for 3 days they wouldn’t let me charge room service to my room then brought a charge card machine to the room and it didn’t work every time I needed anything I to go to front desk I tried to pay for room service in cash and they said that my $100 bill was too old 😂
This hotel is very close to the airport and provides shuttle services. They have friendly staff who are professional and curteous. There is a breakfast buffet with fresh foods which is complimentary(and a plus). The onsite restaurant carries arrays of traditional and continental dishes which are delicious. The facility is very clean and they ensure the safety of all guests: Highly recommended!
We spent 2 weeks here and the hotel staff was really friendly and hospitable. They did an excellent job with our needs and wants. This hotel is centrally located which was great for shopping, food etc. The breakfast buffet was good. I would suggest getting there early to get the food fresh. I had a few issues with the a/c yet it was restored. The internet isn't that strong outside of the hotel room. We spent a great deal on the balcony and it was awesome, relaxing and serene. I would defintely recommend this hotel again.
Great job done
Excellent.
My colleague and I spent a very pleasant week here recently. Excellent service, spotless rooms and 24hr room service were all appreciated. The evening buffets are varied enough to eat each evening without running out of options. The Sunday buffet was excellent!
Overall staff was nice and the food was pretty good. However I was disappointed that the pool was not functioning during my stay.
We enjoyed the nice friendly staff, the choices of food to choose from and close to the airport and mall. Give the staff a raise. Very good experience.
Very nice, clean, comfortable hotel with excellent service and a West African cultural esthetic. Near the airport. Breakfast buffet included. Gym/spa. Pool was under construction and few other outdoor areas for walking/relaxing.
Definitely recommend as a good place to stay in Accra. Nice, clean hotel with hospitable and polite staff. Dining experience was great! I enjoyed the African vibe, decor and ambiance. I was there was several family members who had similar experience with seeming deficit of bath towels- had to ask several times to have towels replaced or provided.
A great place to stay in a great city.
Excellent breakfast and dinner options. Clean, welcoming and first class customer service.
employees
Loved the friendly & helpful staff. Breakfast was also delicious. There was a lot of delicious room service food options as well. Really enjoyed our stay.
The property is very old and the room had a constant smell. Upon arrival I was told that my travel companion and I would be in the same floor. My room was switched without notice. Ended up have to repack and move to my original floor. Inconvenience.
my tay and experience was very pleasant
Thank you
Good
Service was excellent! Soloist was amazing.
The hotel was very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially Gerry at the front desk. I forgot my adapter and the bellman found one for me. Then I had to leave before the restaurant was open and Gerry managed to get me some tea and pastries. Very thoughtful.
So many choices in Accra, I’m glad I chose this property. I walked to the Accra Mall. The famous Sky Bar is across the street and there were no limits to getting around from this hotel as my base. I organized a Cape Coast tour just by asking staff. Everyone was pleasant and the smiles were abundant. Seth, the doorman was extremely helpful and became my go to for all things Accra. The spa on site is small but they sent me to their larger location where I did their 6 hour package. Loved it. The restaurant food was delicious. I preferred my meals at the hotel over local establishments. The free breakfast buffet was a bonus with made to order omelettes etc. Great first base when landing in Accra.
Welcoming staff, clean rooms, 24hr bar/restaurant a plus, as well as free airport shuttle. Conveniently located next to Accra mall.
Booking complication
I want impressed at all by the misinformation on the booking and the room assigned to me on check-in. I was shown a picture of a rim that had 3 beds but the hotel claimed that they don't have such types of rooms and have a small room with only one bed. That caused a lot of discomfort for me and an embarrassment for the hotel. The hotel management reviewed the booking and acknowledged the discrepancy. They agreed to change my room despite their protest. The hotel service was great and the staff very friendly and we were pleased by our stay there. However, the embarrassment and stress caused by the booking was unbearable.
Staff were extremely receptive and I enjoyed the added services attached to my stay. Although it was a very short stay, I loved it.
Room was very clean The view just outside was not very good at all. I guess they may not have control since it seems to be on another property. Otherwise every looked very well organized
Outstanding Service.
The quality of this hotel has declined drastically since I was last here in 2017
House keeping forgot to put two towels. Called front desk twice, nothing happened.
Staff was very timid, nice location but the hotel needs some renovation.
Great Experience
Had a wonderful time! The food was great! The staff was wonderful!! Loved the staff. Had a massage, pedicure/manicure! BEST IN MY LIFE TIME… The only thing I would say more entertainment by the pool is needed. I would book again
The staff was very nice. I would stay here again.
Wonderful service and location
Nice welcoming staff
Very close to the airport but property is dated
Very nice and welcoming. Neat and clean rooms
Outdated
Outdated. Needs renovations. I would not recommend. Better than expected breakfast and shower size and bench was a nice surprise. Do not get a room by the elevator's. You can hear a lot of noise in the rooms.
Amazing
Decent hotel, accessible from the airport.
This place is absolutely beautiful with attentive staffs. Will make sure I go back there.
Your experience would speak for you! Caring staff
Right from pick-up from the airport to the hotel, I started experiencing an hospitable atmosphere. Firdaus, Joseph and the rest of the staff were fabulous. I would stay there any day and any time, because y'all are well trained. Cut the long story short, go see for yourself. Thanks for your great hospitality
Older but very comfortable in central Accra
Friendly staff, great central location, comfortable bed, excellent breakfast buffet. Had a great stay.
The place needs some phase lift. The room looks like early the year lol early 2000’s
Loved my stay at the African regent! Staff is very friendly and helpful. My only complaint was the food menu. Everything was too spicy for me. And the grouper which I loved, you only had 1 day out of our 10 day stay. Thank you 💕
I was hugely dissatisfied , I was placed in a room , where next or down from room they were doing construction , that lasted to the most important part of my day , as the loud banging interfered in my ability to do my work . I left for awhile as to think it would be over , but not so.I did make a personal complaint , was informed it would be taken care of , but heard back from front desk , so again I went out around to near by Mall to pass the time away . Two days of non -productive stay, At African Regent . My sadness is I like the place .
It was just okay, nothing to rave about, they have serious AC problems. In two days I was moved around to three different rooms and it was so embarrassing and inconveniencing, I couldn’t wait to check out. I will not unfortunately revisit that hotel.
Air conditions needs a thorough check-up. Besides that everything was great thank you.
Always clean and friendly. We love your staff remembers us year to year and always provides excellent service. We would love it if they would reopen the pool bar. We will keep coming.
Very friendly and helpful staff, great customer service , peaceful and serene environment. Convenient and easy access to shopping malls, medical care , international airport and Tema harbor/ port..
I love this place. It's convenient, beautiful, luxurious, Ghanian owned, centrally located and cultural. The dinning is fabulous and the breakfast that comes with the room is like a four course dinner thanks to the greats like Chef Michael. Best of all the manager Lummy quickly solves any problems you might encounter and makes sure you get the best hospitality possible and leave satisfied. I think she is the most understanding and conscientious person I've met working at any hotel. Everyone at this hotel from the drivers like Mr. Kofi and the reception workers like Mr. Joseph work hard to make you feel at home, remember you name and your preferences. Also they have an amazing tech person, Obert, onsite to make sure you're connected and troubleshoot any issues and they are right near the Accra mall so your shopping needs are covered. You get a really Big Bang for your buck here because it comes with so much more than your room. It's my home base when in Ghana. Even though I'm Exceeding hard to please and I love it. My only reservation in recommending this place is that I don't want it to be booked when I return.
The hotel is beautiful and the staff take good care of you. I enjoyed the breakfast and piano music in the lobby. I truly enjoyed my stay and can’t wait to return.
staff are courteous. ambience quite relaxing.
Jewel of Ghana
Fantastic service. Very accommodating.
The property was lovely, just not as lovely as the advertised photos.
I didn't like the way I was treated. Upon check in, my toilet was broken. I was coughing uncontrollably due to the mold in the rooms. I have asthma. I wanted to leave the hotel and they did not return my money. The manager Jerry insisted on charging me for a night even though I never spent even an hour there. They are scammers.
Very friendly people. I love the ambiance in the hotel. ButThe AC in our room was not working. For 2 days, i complained and we couldn't sleep well. Finally we were moved to a new room.
Anything
Lovely and beautiful hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Carpets in corridors smell of damp/mould but rooms are pretty decent. Very dark though. Food was nice, nice size pool. Great location, walking distance to Accra Mall but be careful crossing the road to get to the walkway bridge for the Mall. Would definitely stay again.
shuttle to airport; walkable to accra mall; security was great
Choir singing when we walked in was culturally pleasing. Fast easy check in. Hotel was clean. Breakfast was fabulous with different food selection. Would definitely come back there again.
The staff sarah friendly but with only one person at the counter serving both in-coming and in-house guests, she was not very fast
My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay here and We will definitely recommend this hotel and return back. Very pleasant staff and amazing food. Very clean and friendly atmosphere.
It was excellent service and staff. A few updates to the building and bathroom water flow would be great. Smooth process booking and checking out!
i like the decor and the friendly staff.
The hotel does not deserve 4 star rating. The gym is non-functional, some ac’s in the rooms were not working and considering the heat in Accra. My stay was a nightmare. Some night staff even use the gym room as their sleeping area. My overall experience is terrible and will not recommend it to any guest.
Pros: Staff is professional and when you call they pick up and answer all your questions. Although the doorman was not present to greet me and help me with my bag when I arrived, he redeemed himself by being friendly and attentive when I mentioned I hadn’t gotten my complementary drink and no one was present to greet me. The room was great, WiFi worked, bathroom was clean and I had hot water. When I ordered room service they were able to bring me my salad first as requested and bring the main dish and desert together later on. Overall food came in a timely manner. In terms of taste, the food was okay. The pool was nice and the lifeguard was very friendly and helpful. Check out was a quick process. Cons: When I arrived, there was no one to greet me and help me with my bag. I also had to ask about my complementary drink after being told by a guest they were offering them. Overall the staff is not very friendly, but they are professional so I can overlook the lack of warmth. I arrived an hour after check-in began and my room wasn’t ready. I was just told the room would be ready soon each time I inquired. The phone in room did not work. However, they were able to switch my phone after I made a second request. No one picked up each time I called the restaurant directly. Instead I had to call the front desk and ask to be transferred. No menus to order room service, but when I called to request menus, they were sent to me. When you order food and drinks they print a receipt for y
Simons stay
I really enjoyed my stay. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel pays particular attention to current Covid restrictions with masks being required and worn by all staff and sanitiser units in many places. Lift restrictions are also in operation with particular attention to people distancing. There are also temperature checks carried out.
Staff treats you very well always with a smile. Front desk staff , drivers, everyone.
A Special Weekend at the Regent
From check-in to check-out, The African Regent Hotel now ranks as one of the best West African hotels I've been privileged enough to stay. Gorgeous African Art interior design greets you at the reception lobby, and it gets more breathtaking when you fully enter. We were afforded spacious high-quality rooms, and high-quality staff service from the front gate guards to room service. COVID-19 precautions were strictly adhered to with temperature checks at the front gate entrance and a washing and sanitization station outside the lobby doors. The staff was very hospitable and quick to respond to every need of my friends. The poolside bar and interior bar service was top notch. The excellent property location is near the Accra Mall. The property is well landscaped for family photo shoots. It is clean and fantastic with true African charm. Overall, we had a great experience in a wonderful and clean room that included free WiFi. It was also perfect to celebrate an anniversary weekend.
The staff were friendly and the holtel was clean. The accommodation was good. The photograph of the double club room that I booked on Expedia is quite different from the actual room I was given. When I queried this, I was told I had been allocated the room I paid for. Please can Expedia check the room they are advertising as double club room and the photographs given? I think this is a bit misleading. I have to say that the room I was given was good too but not the same or similar to the picture shown in expedia.
Very nice hotel will be staying again

I stayed for 3 nights while I visited Accra. The restaurant buffet was excellent and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I was able to easily take an uber to Osu and Old Jamestown and I was also able to set up a driver for the day.
