Good location
Building is old but still ok but shower was not enough hot water. Front staff were someone very well kind but someone not well. Location is good and no problem about eat from morning till late.
Nice place in china town, rooms were clean and comfortable. Not upfront with travel tax though however
In Chinatown era, this is the favorite hotel
We got the top floor which had a good view of KL tower and twin towers. The family rooms were spacious and interconnected which made it very convenient. There is not much of a space available for taxis to pick you up in busy hours so that was a little inconvenient. Breakfast didn't have much of an option if you are a vegetarian. But they still accommodated us for few days and had 1-2 items added in menu. They also provided early checkin on chargeable basis. You will also have to pay tourist tax of RM 10/night. Overall a decent accommodation with in city center.
Great location right by Petaling Street. Our room was on the corner of the top floor with a view of the city and skyscrapers. The room is spacious enough for two. Our only complaint was that the bathroom seems run down, for example the towel rack was broken. The bathroom is small and the toilet doesn’t flush well. Other than that the room was well maintained and clean. Housekeeping was helpful and check in was easy. We had an early check in at 12pm for an additional 50rm.
This hotel is close to public transit so it’s easy to move around the city.
Amazing and value for money
Great location in China town if you don't mind a bit noise
Wawww
Great location
Hotel showing its age.
Good location but that itself may not be enough
Not the first time but the hotel seems to have aged noticeably since my last stay in 2019. Management needs to pour in resources to uplift the condition of the rooms particularly the bedding before the conditions of the rooms deteriorated to a noticeable level. Given the fact that there are many more newer hotels coming up within its vicinity. The hotel has already lost one advantage when KKKL no longer pick up and drop off passengers at its door step. The counter staff were less than warm and welcoming compared to the last few rounds of my stay.
I liked being able to walk out the door and into the streets filled with food vendors, restaurants and merchants. Hotel was clean, newly refreshed, friendly helpful staff, fast elevators. Downside was weak wifi signal in my room (upper floor at very end of hallway). I would stay here again.
Next to Chinatown
Great location and good hotel
Great location next to Chinatown.
Great location next to Chinatown.
The hotel was great, clean comfortable & in a great location. The room we had was one on 15th floor, fantastic views of KL very spacious for a family of 4 & bathroom clean, good showrrs.
Like the location, however the bed sheet had a weird smell and the towels are worn and tattered, one of them had stains and other had a hole on it. Will not stay in this hotel again. Will give a 2 star rating.
I stayed on the 14th floor, have nice view. The room is clean and nice too. Feedback The toilet roll is a bit small for one day use. The TV reception for some channels are not good. Thanks & Regards God Bless!
Friendly staff , very close to Chinatown , 7 mins from train station , like the food and shopping . Breakfast limited choice but the taste make up for it , recommended to taste it , however coffee was not my likings . Everything were almost perfect until the night time when I took the shower , the water was not very hot and it took quite sometime before a little warm water came out though , pressure if water not that good , it would had been perfect stay if this issue was not there
Good service 👍
Been here a few times before COVID,rooms are the same,no upgrades ,breakfast is delivered to your room, expect noodles,a roll, and some soya drink.,would be a better option to have breakfast outside.
Convenient ,location but tired facilities
This hotel has seen better days. Probably due to Covid, the rooms remain dated. We had trouble with a leaking bathroom and had to change rooms. Room cleaning was not reliable.
I like it
The parking is charged with an entry fee of 5 ringgit, which is not written in the details. The hourly charge is however, free. The cleanliness was okay, but there's a slight smell of cigarette smoke in the room I really like how comfy the bed is, it's really huge and soft.
Strategic location, clean room. Reasonable price. Easy to find nice food, grocery store.
The building conditions getting old and maybe during covid time, everthing look untidy especially the floor carpet. The hotel location is excellent for tourists
Central of Petaling street. Walking distance for shopping, food , MRT
New renovate, strategy location for MRT and food
Grea value
Location was good. Our stay was wonderful with occasional direction help from customer service personnel.
Everything about 5 Elements is positive. Staff is super friendly and helpful, rooms are very clean! The view is fantastic and the location is very convenient for shopping and sight seeing. Would come again for sure
Hotel was slightly old. Water took the longest to turn hot. No table in the room. Breakfast was lame.
Will come again
We have stayed in 5 hotels around the area in the last few years, this would be the best, but was the most expensive. Good spacious clean room, although a good hard deep clean would be useful. Some mould in the bathroom (a common issue in Asia) and a bit dusty. Really handy to Central Market and the Chinatown attractions and shopping; carpark underneath is a bonus. Breakfast was a bit plain but good enough although the staff were a bit slow to replenish as items were consumed. All in all, would come again.
Fantastic stay. I will return
Excellent stay. Fast and easy check in and check out.
Overalls are good, my only wish is that breakfast is optional, for as a chinese, staying near China Town has got plenty of good foods, I would like to eat some local breakfasts. That’s my only dislike.
Excellent
Clean and i feel safe at night
Gem of a hotel in Chinatown
Third time staying at this gem in Chinatown. The hotel is ideal if you wish to be outside the busy Bukit Bintang or KLCC areas. Plus, with the new MRT stop at Pasar Seni (5-10mins away) the area is a lot more connected than before. There are a bunch of new hipster cafes in the area and plenty of old school restaurants too. The area itself seems like it is on its way to gentrification. The hotel has some splendid views from the upper floors of the KL skyline too. I've come back for the location and the rooms - the latter are really spacious, comfortable, clean, and functional. Breakfast is still the usual spread - nothing too fancy but the good basics. The breakfast area itself might need to an update ;) but that's hardly a complaint. The staff at brekkie, at the front desk and the cleaning staff are all friendly and easy to speak with.
The room is clean and spacious. Beautifully designed as well. However, the room air conditioning can be improved.
Still a good place to stay due to location, but..
Since my last stay in 2017, there are wear & tear signs that the management must pay attention, no amount of housekeeping can make the hotel afresh and look new. To start with, the management must periodically replace towels and bed sheets that have shown signs of being soiled - or maybe some rooms were not occupied for a fairly long period and gave to me?
After an disaster on another hotel previous night - this was total contrast and amazing. Had a good sleep. Room was clean and neat, nothing to complain.
Very very convenient
I quite shocked about tourism tax! Could you add that tax in price?
Found a huge cockroach still alive in the bathroom
Excellent
Good Location.
Everything ok. Will come back again.
The only option to stay at KL
It was an excellent 3 star hotel at the heart of city with very reasonable room rent. All famous markets and places were at walking distance starting from Petaling street, Kasturi Walk, Perronas twin towers and KL tower. Good cheap but quality food outlets around with Chinese, Indian halal.
Great location for foodies
Excellent hawker food is just at the doorstep
Good place to stay for a few days. Needs to improve their housekeeping. The food is great. The staffs are approachable and helpful
Centrally located. Limited facility and very basic breakfast.
Convenient to shop and food. Ease of transportation
Good location, big room near china town, easy transpotation
Friendly and helpful hotel staff
Hotel staff are friendly. With the price I paid, cannot ask for more. Overall experience is average to good.
Good location. Average breakfast
Good location Definitely value for money Breakfast was average as it could do with more choices but can't really fault it for the price we paid to stay there
NICE HOTEL/GOOD LOCATION/GREAT SERVICE
1. Very affordable 2. Spacious room and comfortable beds 3. Good shower area - can be improved by changing the window blind
Stayed in many hotels in KL, 5 Elements is by far the best and the location is superb.
Perfect
Great location , clean
A good Element
No complaints, no remarks. Nice and clean room, service-minded staff, stable wifi, fun location, tasty breakfast.
Free breakfast that's the best. But the air conditioning is noisy a bit
Good plenty of eating stalls
This is an older hotel very close to Pétaling Street in Kuala Lumpur. The outside and lobby give an appearance of elegance, but the rooms are older with signs of lots of use. My room had several white plaster patches on the front wall as well as an older carpet and paint. But the room was comfortable and there were 3 English channels on the TV. The "free" breakfast was rather ordinary. It is an ok place to stay.
The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Many guest are very ignorant and loud. Many rooms have windows/balconies that are internal and not to the outside of hotel.
Happy Customer
Very good location. Right where the chinatown is. Very satisfied
Highly recommend
Great prefect location and services, nearby a lot of food stall morning and night, the manager Mr Frankie help us for our request and front desk staff do their work well and friendly. Nothing to complain only can say excellent hotel services and location. Breakfast is nice also
Good and best Hotel
This is the best location for family with elder and children, just 1 min walk to Chinatown. The manager Mr Frankie have also done his promise to us as my request and informed the front desk customer services staff, the front desk staff is very friendly and helpful, when I need like pillow and hairdryer, they is very nice and inform the room services to pass to us in just a few min. I will stay this hotel again when I going for the next visit to KL and will strongly recommend my Friend about this hotel.
Nice view of KL tower
Big room with KL tower and petronas tower view. In the heart of china town, many food stalls. Hotel with big room, breakfast was ok but not great. Very close to Pasa Seni Lrt or maharajalela lrt. Staff was friendly and heplful.
Overall good hotel to stay at
Room is quite clean. Location is good. Simple spread of breakfast but good enough. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Wifi working most of the time. View was good as it was facing the city area, saw fireworks on one night. Minor issues: no full shower screen so some water is out to the toilet area; water host was laying on the floor without a hook near the toilet bowl. No hand towel. Can hear probably sound of the hangers hitting to the wardrobe from the next room.
great value of money
great location with clean and spacious, the old carpet is the only thing i could pick if u have to..very nice staffs
Good Stay.
Almost all the attributes we need for a great hotel stay for the price we paid. Reception and Management staff were very helpful. Main grouse is the missing face/hand towels service,no place to put up our luggage, clothhangers.
Becoming the only choice for my next stay in KL
After staying within the Chinatown area and tried no less than 10 medium and small size hotels (three - 3.5 stars rating), I almost gave up. But my stay with 5 Elements renewed my hope that there is still a value for money venue in this area. I should have tried it when it was operational some 8 years ago. But it is not too late to rediscover it.
Chinese hotel in China town
It is located in china town. Breakfast was okay.
Nice firm comfortable queen bed.
It is located right in China town, excellent location near Pasar Seni LTR Station, One stop to SENTRAL where is the airport bus to KLIA and KLIA2, four stops to KLCC. Many food stalls in the area. Unfortunately, there is no safety deposit in the room to keep important documents and cash.
Not a plasant stay :(
The hotel does not even have bellboys to assist the guests in their luggages. Room check in goes beyond 3pm since the guests need to wait for available rooms when in fact you already paid for the room and even if this is the case they are very strict with room check out at 12nn. Facilities were also bad since the restaurant does not have room service and do not even allow food to be taken out for those who cannot take the breakfast there. Breakfast is not also that good considering the same menu everyday. They also have a money changer who is very rude. Overall, our stay was not that pleasant at all.
Value for money stay
Hotel is located close to Jalan Petaling (just a street away) which is very convenient for food lovers like me. The interior of the hotel is also really modern and clean.
Strategic location
The room was big than expected. Room is clean.Location is very strategic 500m walking distance to Pasar Seni MRT station and 200m to petaling streets market. Parking available and only charge RM5 for 2 days. The only cons arenthe breakfast choise is limited and the restaurant is small.
First room not clean 2nd room ok. For the money average. Position is good. Breakfast good.
Good value
Not easy to find if you are coming from airport but Well located in Chinatown. Clean and good breakfast Definitely will return
GREAT !!!
great locaation and clean and quiet .. Fantastic !!!
The canteen is very hot, air circulation is no good. The room (1303) water flow is very small.
Easy peasy stay
A central location where coach arrives in KL via KKKL bus service as drop off and pick up point to Singapore. A good 15mins walk to Berjaya Times Square and Bukit Bintang. Hotel room and breakfast is basic and bordering on value for money.
Love the 5 Elements Hotel
I used to stay in Swiss Inn Hotel just across every year when I come to KL. This round decided for a change and booked to stay in The 5 Elements Hotel. The 5 Elements Hotel room is big.It is more user friendly for the elderly. There are some changes with their daily breakfast menu which I like unlike the previous hotel that I stayed.Serving the same menu daily. I stayed for 4 nights. On the first night, the person that tidy my room did not change the bath towels and bed was not properly make as compared to the subsequent night that I stayed. I like to thank the person who clean up my room on 2nd,3rd and 4th night stay. You did a good job. The staff at the counter are friendly. I like to stay in this area because it is near to lots of eatery and shopping. Will definitely come and stay again for my yearly visit to KL to visit my relatives.
Wifi access not constant.
Room condition cannot be rated as fantastic but front desk staffs are helpful especially Mr Wahaf (hopefully spell his name correctly) who managed the front desk on 30 April 2018 evening, I was impressed by his service for offering his personal mobile hot-spot connection when the hotel wifi was downed.
Not recommended
1. Not given a 2nd room key when requested. 2. No tooth brush/paste. Hairdryer, iron/ironing board given upon request. 3. Breakfast was very disappointing. 4. Decor of hotel & Chinaz Cafe is dated, gloomy, even 'scary' 5. TV Channels 4 to 10 were not working; neither was the remote control - hotel staff who attended to us insists it works 6. A few staff at the front desk are commendable: Lyn, Hisham, Hema n another malay guy. 7. Lifts creak.
Pleasant stay in Chinatown
The room was better than I expected, comes with nice breakfast and great view of KL Tower. I like the vibe of this hotel! The hotel may improve on its wifi signal and the efficiency in cleaning.
Good and clean hotel
Happy with the big room
Great hotel in Chinatown
This was a great hotel in a fantastic area , Chinatown is exciting and the hotel is right on it , great views and a whole atmosphere I did not get at any other Kuala Lumpur hotel
5 Elements short stay
For short trip this hotel is nice to stay. For the tourism tax there was no receipt issued, will the hotel file to local authority?
Would recommend 5 elements for a luxurious stay
In betwee Beach trips to Sri Lanka amd Indonesia, stayed here for some luxury and rest. We barely left the room and just enjoyed our deluxe bed and good wifi most of our time here. Great food on the street outside and in the attached restaurants.
budget hotel
Pros: i chose this hotel because of the location as it is right within the area of Petaling Street. However, after staying there for almost a week i found myself taking a uber or grab car to places every day, and it takes ages for uber to arrive as the roads near the hotels are jammed all the time. I think this is the "old" part of KL so the infrastructure is not up to date. Cons: budget hotel so everything has a charge. my son splashed water on the bed sheet so i called front desk and there was a charge. there were no hand tower (only bath towel) and we needed one, there was a charge. There was no first time warning or similar alerts, without realising it I am already facing a charge. It's all about extra money (this could be common in budget hotels but i have never had similar experience). All of these made me very nervous eventually as i was not sure what's waiting for me tomorrow. If i had not paid for the whole stay i would have definitely moved out after the first two nights. i personally wouldn't come back again but i think it might be more suitable for young travelers who are out and about during the day and just come back for a sleep.
Not recommended
The staff are rude mainly the night shift, their main intention to force you to book any transportation through them with a higher price and pay in advance so they can take advantage, the breakfast is bad and I don’t think they have housekeeping as we left the room in the morning and returned back in the eveningbut they did not do it even they dos not replace the towels
Overall, the hotel is very clean, neat and tidy. The number of TV channels s not a lot, so if you are just staying in the room to watch TV, then it might not be suitable for you. The breakfast is not the best ,but it is decent cooked food. The only catch is the wifi, as the connection keeps dropping. The location however is great, as it is in the heart of chinatown, if you like the hustle and bustle, and yearn for great food, then by all means , the hotel would be very suitable for you to stay.
Best value hotel.
Very good hotel in center of China town having all the basic things required. The rooms are spacious and neat enough. It's a true value for money.
welcoming staff, great location and clean and comfortable
Good location
Breakfast need to improve. Should also provide shower cap, shaver etc
Ok for an overnight stay.
Location is fantastic. Step out of the hotel and food is available at your door step. Room is comfortable, but air-conditioning is very noisy. Turn it off and room gets too hot. Leave it on and the noise will keep you awake all night!. If you must stay here bring ear plug. Great hotel for a quick stop over to catch an early bus to airport.
Nice hotel near town
Died Cockroach in the toilet No toothbrush and toothpaste provide No hair dryer in the room No safe box in the room TV's sound distorted and picture snowy
Frankie was great during reservation and helping us with planning our trip. Check in was fast and pleasant. But, Hotel staff wakes you up in the middle of the night to get the hair dryer. When you told them you will still use it in the morning. They go up to your room and kept on knocking on the door and keeps on calling your room phone until you give in and gives them the hair dryer. Cockroach and insects in the room. Big fly on breakfast food. Airconditioning is not cold enough. You wake up sweating. Only one card key which is quite inconvenient.
Most of the Elements..Arr Missing.
Not amazing @ all..Room was spacious,bathroom ok..TV..channel mostly blurred..when it rains worst still..service was so2...staff @frontdesk were friendly & helpful..local area...convenient...Breakfast lousy..
New bathroom fixtures were nice.
Hotel in Chinatown area
My family and I stayed at the Earth suite. The room was spacious. Internet was rather slow in the room. On the second last day, the housekeeping staff entered our room without knocking. The staff didn’t apologise after seeing my kids and just left the room.
Loved the view of kl tower and Petronas twin towers
