Great stay!
Great boutique hotel located just outside of the old town with clean rooms and pool!
Close to airport for a stopover and walking distance to the night markets. Complimentary taxi couldn't pick up from airport as arranged, but refunded the taxi fee. Had early morning flight, staff provided a take away breakfast and arranged a taxi for 5.00am at very reasonable cost.
staff was helpful and friendly. Nice quiet location, walkable to the local city. Good laundry service.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff, great property, awesome breakfast buffet and good food all around. Would definitely recommend!
a cute little place
Cool little place with awesome staff And cozy. I will be back.
Staff was super friendly and helpful, food was excellent, but charges to much for laundry services.
Stayed in their suite B11 for 4 days. The hotel design is quirky but has charm to it. The bed is comfy and the housekeeping does a good job cleaning. The jacuzzi was great for the cold December days. Will stay there again.
Super friendly front desk! Very helpful and informative.
Thannatee is great!!! The decor was beautiful, the staff attentive, breakfast buffet was awesome!!! I reccomend to anyone who is looking for an authentically Thai style hotel. I extended my original stay here and was very happy the whole time. 10 stars from me!!
Great comfort for the price
The decor of the hotel is really nice, the restaurant is good too. Pretty well located about 10mins from the old town. A little bit of mosquitos flying around though.
Great location and fantastic staff. The room we were in (deluxe spa) was extremely noisey however and the shower head came from within the spa and nowhere to hook it into (had to hold it while showering. The bed was also very noisey which was kinda annoying.
It was in a handy location to restaurants and most places. Did not line the windows as could not seal, mosquitoes could come in. And staying for eight nights above reception office first on the stairs everyone passing by my door.
Very nice hotel, smelt a bit because of the water feature and there was a frog making a noise most of the night. Good job I am an animal lover! :-) Bed was very comfortable.
Enjoyed the atmosphere in this cozy little hotel ,Great Breakfast and room nice with great shower,Staff were all Friendly Helpful and nice ,I enjoyed the stay here .Thank you
We had a very nice stay at this property, although the floor in our room was never clean and the room it self was too small. We could barely walk around the bad considering we had our luggage around too. Breakfast could have been better and we would have liked to see more local fruits. Also, coffee was terrible we couldn’t drink it. The staff was very nice and helpful and the property is very characteristic with a local touch, which is what we wanted. The position is perfect: 10 min walk to the night bazar and 10 min walk to the old city (temples and cafes). Free shuttle bus to and from airport was also a plus and the shuttle bus was very comfy!
It was charming and quirky, if a little run down. Lovely bathrooms. Excellent, responsive staff. Good food both breakfast and dinner.
OUTSTANDING staff, in special reception and cooking staff. The hotel is well-located, close enough to the main attractions but away enough to avoid the noise from the city. The bedroom is extremely well-cleaned and new. I'd definitely go again
Amazingly cute decor, great location, helpful staff. Only down side was no elevator.
This is a lovely hotel with very pretty decor. It is well located and an easy walk into the old town. There are nice cheap restaurants very close by. We had an amazing hot tub in our room that worked perfectly the first night. Unfortunately the bubbles wouldn't work the second night and the water wouldn't get warm enough either. We mentioned it the next day but they said they didn't have bubbles in their hotel (all just a bit confusing). So that was our only negative but it was great to use whilst it lasted! There's a nice pool round the back and the staff are very friendly.
Lovely
Thannatee is a nice Thai style hotel with lovely staff. We arrived early and the reception allowed us to leave our bags. The restaurant staff were always welcoming and remembered you. Our room was cleaned everyday. The bed was comfortable and air conditioning effective. Would definitely recommend. We also liked how this hotel is off the main road but still walking distance and the little restaurants in the area.
Very comfortable bed, good shower, nicely located to restaurants, quiet area.
.Pleasant décor and helpful staff. Not easy to find though.
The staff were amazing, especially Akani and Chotiwit...they always had a beautiful smile and a very warm disposition....as well, they always went above and beyond to assist us with the many requests we had.....the location very good....cool little boutique hotel for a short stay.....
The hotel was comfortable. The room was small but provided everything that we needed. Breakfast was nice each day. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful with all of our questions and needs.
Good for the price.
A cute little hotel. Not centrally located. Ticked away in a tiny little street. 15 minute ride to night market. Facilities were clean and well maintained. Didn't like the layout of the hotel and the fact that it doesn't have stairs. Climbing up 4 flights of stairs in no air conditioning after an already hot day is a lot of work. The staff were great and shuttled us to and from airport and carried our baggages to our room. Very friendly staff.
Convinien for transpotation
This is the piece and convinien boutique hotel in Chieng Mai. Not far from night barza. Also near to the airport and Central Parza (shopping center).
Unique Friendly Comfortable Homey Hotel
We thought we'd only stay here 3 days and ended up staying 12. The rush of a waterfall by our window and very comfy bed kept us there. The staff went out of their way to give us directions and make us comfortable. The rooms have old style phones that work, reading lamps in the beds and the traditional north Thai design. But what I loved most was the waterfall complete with fish in the middle with a little temple and swimming pool at the back. It made you feel like you were at hot spring and at peace. I'd enthusiastically recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet place near Chang Mai's attractions. The only downsides (and they are minor to me) are since it's a natural setting with wooden structure there are some termites and as other's have pointed out there are termites but the staff is attentive and the place is kept clean its just a more natural setting. Smoking is allowed by the pool and in the common area by the river, which i didn't like but the open setting prevents it from getting in the rooms. Those are the only minor drawbacks. I can't say enough about the friendly staff and how comfortable and happy we felt there for sure we will return. If you're looking for a cozy, home like place with natural effects this is the spot.
Friendly and helpful staffs
This hotel is tucked away on a quiet lane not far from the southern wall of the old city. It is quite a walking distance back to the city center but acceptable. The rooms are very small i think i got the deluxe, highly recommend that you get an upgrade if the price difference is not big. There are bugs in the room think it is because of the old building. Staffs are very helpful and friendly!
Adorable Hotel
Thannatee Boutique Hotel was beautiful. Very quaint and quiet. We stayed in room B23 and it was fabulous, the waterfall was right outside of our window. It isn’t a long walk at all to get into the square. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Close to the old city and beautifully detailed
A bit tricky to find. Highly suggest taking a hotel card with so your driver can find it easier if you go anywhere. Our room was small but the details were fantastic. Beautifully decorated. Dark room which made for great sleeping. Easy walk to the square, with some excellent eating close by. The walk to the pool was a treat with Koi pools and waterfalls which gave it a great atmosphere. Breakfast was merely ok based on the other placed we stayed. Bed was comfy, softer than other places we stayed. One knock, when we entered the room, the window in the bathroom had been left open so the room was very warm(it was 100f/38c that day) and there were lots of mosquitoes in the room. No lift/elevator for those on the upper floors.
The luck of the draw!
The hotel is very cute and the staff is very friendly. Ample breakfast and very attentive staff. My daughter and her husband stayed there a few days before our arrival. They had an awesome room and were totally satisfied. Our room was small, dark and the bathroom was archaic. Quite disappointing considering how much my daughter was raving over her accommodations. Her room was spacious and well appointed. I think it was just bad luck for us! I believe we ended up getting the last available room. The gardens and the pool area are awesome! I would stay there again, but only if I was guaranteed a better room.
Thannatee hotel
Lovely, very quicky authentic thai hotel
Great hotel not far from the centre of Chiang Mai
Fantastic room with an amazing jacuzzi! Staff were very pleasant and helpful, would highly recommend!
Poor rooms and service
Tired hotel, big gaps round the window. Food not great. My son stayed here after us and they had no hot water for a couple of days with no refund or compensation offered. Staff fairly disinterested in the guests especially the reception staff.
This is a beautiful hotel even though it is small(22 rooms). The service was excellent. Highly recommend for couples as has that romantic feel. The bed was to firm for us however is typical in Asia.
Paradise in the city
Beautiful koi pond lining the walkway to the suites, room was dark and elegant, swimming pool was in the sunshine all day, I had the most delicious mojito and the food was great!
Beautiful decor , and well maintained
Nice boutique hotel that is close to the old city, walking distance to various restaurant around the area. Those with parents that are old, will have problems of climbing up the stairs if room is given at the top floor. But overall was good.
We really enjoyed our short stay at Thannatee Boutique Hotel The Staff was very helpful. We appreciated the pick up and drop off to the airport. They accommodated us with the extra time we needed. The room was cute and the bed was comfortable. we would go back
Confusing
Initially got there and had 2 rooms booked but they only had 1 available, got upgraded to a suite that had no shower!!
Very comfortable, cosy hotel. Located in SE portion of city, close to main ring road. Very pleasant staff and accommodation. In house breakfast good too.
Nice small hotel
I stayed in Thailand for 1 month and this is the only hotel I was charged 10% service charge and 7% Vat charge. I asked the receptionist when checking out but couldn’t give me a answer. Apart from that a lovely little boutique hotel
chaing mia
nice, would stay again. on a back road but easy walk to main shopping area. pool small but nice.
Beautiful hotel
I loved this place. My room was amazing with a huge beautiful bathroom. It is all dark wood and mosaic tiles and lovely details. The staff are very helpful and I booked some good tours through them. The breakfast is buffet, not very interesting but there is plenty of choice. I only ate at the restaurant once and I didn’t really enjoy it. It takes about 15 mins to walk to town or you can get a tuk tuk.
Stunning Lanna-style hotel
This is an absolutely beautiful hotel full of charm and character. We had a spa suite which was gorgeous and very spacious with a huge double spa, stunning Lanna decor (wood paneling, inlaid decorations) and lovely lighting. It felt more like a cabin of an old, luxurious sailing ship - very cozy and romantic. The bed was huge and very comfortable (unlike most Thai beds). The only disappointments were that the swimming pool was closed during our stay and the staff were not the usual smiling, happy, friendly people we have been used to in Thailand.
Relaxing and comfortable stay
The hotel environment is green ( many plants around ) and together with the landscape and waterfall feature it creates a much relaxing mode when we are in the courtyard area. It is a beautiful boutique hotel with a nice swimming pool. I can view the swimming pool from the bathroom and the courtyard from the main room. Love it !
Bedding were severely stained and there were hundreds of ants in our room.
Good location
Great little hotel, lots within walking distance, and very helpful happy staff.
Lots of character. Very helpful staff
Great little hotel, close to the old city. Plenty of character. Helpful and friendly staff. Dining room a little small but food excellent.
Great find
Love this place. Super comfortable hotel & a very friendly staff. Great value. Short walk to the gates and you'll feel like a local. Also around the corner is Khammoon. You'll see on her sign that she used to repair Muay Thai boxers. She does massages by appt only & magically healed my elbow. Go!
Potentially very good
Nice decor, mostly excellent breakfast, mostly good location, good Internet. Bar and dining staff at best unhelpful, positioning of the best caused continual ankle bashing, front desk staff friendly but lacking skills re giving advice. But really the dining room staff broke it for me.
This hotel was perfect - small, cute, cozy and peaceful. The only thing they can improve on is their breakfast selection but other than that it was a perfect stay.
Gorgeous boutique hotel, Lanna Style
Within walking distance to main rd. Restaurants within a few minutes. Away from all noise. Tranquil hotel. Tall ppl watch your heads going upstairs.
Fav place in my travels
Everything was so cute , clean , staff very pleasant was in the middle of everything couldn't have gotten better location . Ac worked great shower was good . Breakfast in the am was the best ! Huge selection. Deft would go back
Convenient to city
No drinking water supply after midnight..is difficult to walk from hotel to city at midnight because the road light is not enough. Should put water filter machine for guest..mosquito a lots in bedroom..
Beautiful! Jungle in the middle of the city.
The hotel was gorgeous and the room was so clean. It was strange customer service, though. In the middle of the afternoon, I asked the front desk to call me a taxi so I could go to the store and buy wine (which, I now know you cannot do from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.) and I get there and of course I cannot buy it. I was very specific about what I was going to buy. Then, the room refrigerator was set at freezing and froze my diet sodas. Then, there is an airport shuttle but it was unavailable to take me to the airport as I was leaving.
Very unique hotel
So relaxed in a hotel full of natural resources very beautiful decor with mountains and waterfall that can really make you feel staying in a jungle Staff was very experienced and did not interrupt in my stay there, have a great time. Especially the spa baht tub in room, room decor was very traditional Thailand native style, breakfast did not get a chance to try, overslept in the beautiful room and forsake the breakfast, will come stay again more more days if get the chance again, so far the best boutique hotel I have stay in Chiang Mai, money well spent, if nosy guest please do not book this boutique hotel, thank you, lol, is so relaxed and peaceful staying in this boutique hotel, best experience in Chiang Mai
Give it a try.....its something different....
The first room we received was tiny, we were tripping over our suitcases. We looked for a bigger room and for an extra 800baht we got a lovely room beside the pool that was much bigger the next day. This hotel does not have any rooms with single beds so if you travel with a friend be prepared to share. Mosquito's everywhere, but I dont think that's the hotels fault.....its just Chiang Mai. Bed was comfy, rooms were clean and staff in general were nice. Airport shuttle could have run more often. Breakfast was nice. Pool was small but nice. Decor was dark and showers wet most of the bathroom (which was small). Loved the waterfall and the coi pond. Not much atmosphere in the hotel, and cooridors had no A.C. It was quiet, clean and safe with nice staff.
Excellent value.
Hotel very clean. Staff lovely. Ideal location close for transport. Room is small but intimate. Breakfast ok. Pool dirty green. Grubby. Lovey to walk in local area experiencing Thai culture. We thought excellent value.
Fantastic property in a great area
Staff were really nice, breakfast was amazing, and we felt really comfortable there.
Decent hotel close to the old city.
Good breakfast and Wifi. Staff friendly and helpful. Location within 10-20 min walk of the old city, markets and nightlife. Nice bathrooms with plenty of hot water after a short wait. Aircon worked well. My room was over the lobby and entrance so a bit noisier than some of the other rooms.
Great quirky boutique hotel
Absolutely loved the hotel - staff was lovely - breakfast good - pool area good. Room decor was amazing- so why spoil everything by providing a huge jacuzzi bath which was near impossible to get into and no stand up shower.
Chiang Mai
We loved Chiang Mai and would definitely stay at Thannatee again. Room's are big and very comfy and nice dipping pool outside. Nice features and flowers all around. Safe in room was good and staff were very helpful and friendly. It's in the suburbs but only a ten minute walk to night markets and this was a perfect location for our day trips. I would stay here again.
A lovely hotel
I had an enjoyable stay
My significant other and I stayed 3 nights here and I wish I could have stayed longer. Friendly and helpful service and beautiful rooms. The waterfall and koi pond at the entryway to the pool is a lovely touch. The wifi was consistent and there is free hot breakfast with a voucher they give you at check-in. It is a little out of the way of the city center, but they provide a free shuttle. Also if have difficulty walking up stairs this might not be the place for you as there is no elevator. I will certainly stay here again if I am in Chiang Mai again.
Cool hotel. Great Value
helpful friendly staff. good choice at breakfast. Beautiful hotel. Small but nice pool
Nice staff, clean convenient hotel.
Helpful staff, clean rooms, hot showers, ok food, interesting location near old city, free transport from airport and into town.
This hotel was OK. Staff helpful, but not going out of their way for friendliness. Only stairs up to 4th floor. Rooms could use freshening. Breakfast unreamarkable.
Boutique hotel.
Nice quirkey hotel, very quiet with nice friendly helpful staff. 10 minute walk to night bazaar (well worth a visit) and night life of loh Khroi Road. Free shuttle service available to airport or taxi for 160 baht. Recommended.
Great things in small settings
Wonderful. Book it
Clean hotel with helpful friendly staff
The hotel room is clean and the staff is amazing. They are very helpful, friendly and accommodating. They even provide free shuttle transportation to and from the airport. However the hotel is a little hidden and a few blocks away from bars and restaurants.
Really liked the unique design of this hotel.
We arranged for a tour through the hotel that was to be leaving @ 7:00. We cancelled the evening before due to illness. At approximately 7:30am the morning of the tour someone with a key to the room attempted to enter the room, but was unable to since we had the chain on the door. Someone , with a room key ,assumed we were not there. I can't help but assume a it was a staff member . Be careful of your belongings.
Beautiful hotel decor and great buffet breakfast
Hotel is well decorated with pool and a old Chiang Mai design. Beautiful garden scenery. Breakfast is awesome with a large variety. Close walking distance to Thaphae gate. Room is clean although a little small. Nicely adorned.
Nice hospitality staff
Proposed a tour to travel. Hotel staff kindly advised in detail so could enjoy it.
The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. Staff helped set up transportation to explore the area and gave suggestions of things to go see and do. One down fall was we did not get internet in our room. Staff tried to get it working however not successful but accommodating to let us hang out by the pool and lobby. Would definitely go back again.
Nicely decorated with good taste!
good hotel, great service. No complains here.
You won't regret it
Great service and great food
Nice hotel
Nice hotel but lacks outdoor space, breakfast was ok nothing to rave about, staff were excellent
Beautiful Hotel
This hotel was lovely and definitely met my needs and then some. I initially wanted to be in the old city, but this location works well because it's a close walk, and if you're feeling lazy, they provide a shuttle to different areas of Chiang Mai. They even offer free transportation from the airport upon your arrival, and then back to the airport at the end of your stay. Daily breakfast was a great buffet style meal, with hot and cold options, and you could get made to order eggs as well.
Beautiful hotel! Close by to everything!
Absolutely brilliant hotel! Compliments to staff who made it even better! Nearby everything!!
Nice place for couples
Nice little place, friendly staff, nice breakfast. Stayed in the spa bath room. Good size and cosy. They still need a free standing shower in the bathroom as well as the balti in mu opinion. Overall a very nice place.
Excellent
Excellent location, beautiful decoration, delicious food. I recommend this hotel to all my friends
My stay at Thannatee Boutique Hotel
We select the best room available in this hotel. First day, everything was ok. Second days problem start, cleaner leave the room unlock after they cleaning the room, we discover later in the afternoon after back from tour, lock for one of the suit case been force open and cause damage. Nothing been missing. report the case to management. They said they going to investigate the case and let us know. but no one come to tell us nothing, second days we have to ask the management to supply the toiletry. after they clean the room they remove everything and not to resupply third day the same thing, until the fourth day I went down stair complain to them regarding this toiletry. at the five day finally the toiletry supplied with out I have to rang them. The staff speaking English very poor. The Free Shuttle van available for the people stay in the hotel but only one way. We found the shuttle van driver not friendly, I book shuttle van at the office to drop us at point B, But the driver just drop us at point A, I told him that we been book to be drop at point B, he looks not happy and jump out from the driver sit and open the passenger door and force us out and told us take taxi or tuk tuk to get there. We back to hotel later night and place complaining regarding how rude the driver are, we also rebook for the next afternoon to be drop at the point B. Next day different driver took us same thing happen. This thing also been reported.
Friendly staff ensured comfortable stay
Providing a free shuttle bus to the old city meant we could easily visit the several temples in that area. The hotel pool made it easy to keep cool. The main impression was that the friendly staff at reception and dining made it a most enjoyable stay.
Too many mosquitoes in hotel public area and in room.
Hotel located within short walk of the old city.
Warm welcome, ok breakfast. Laundry service very efficient.
A most beautifully presented hotel
If you are fed up with the standard accommodation you get in a regular hotel and want to experience something different then this is the place for you. The hotel ambience with its waterfalls and beautiful ponds is breathtakingly pleasant and sublime.
Great hotel right next to the Old City.
The hotel is within short walking distance to the Old City. The rooms and atmosphere are great. The staff are extremely responsive and helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Best staff ever"
Intesting rooms and very comfortable. The staff were so accommodating being willing to go the extra mile to help out in any way possible.
Love this hotel!
Such a pretty hotel!! Loved it here! Very nice staff and beautiful Koi ponds and waterfalls!
Hidden Gem
The property is well done and the people who work there could not have been nicer.
A work of art
I have to say, on the way to the hotel I was worried about the area. But like the land of Oz there it was. I would say to everyone, to see it through, you won't be disappointed. The only reason to call it boutique is the size of the property but they made every inch beautiful. B11. I recommend this room if your OK with whirlpool and handshower.
Lovely Thai oasis just outside the wall
The Thannatee was a beautiful oasis in Chiang Mai, close to the south gate of old town with easy access to everything. The decor was charming and the staff always warm and welcoming. We had the suite with the large jacuzzi tub which was great for recovering from tons of walking around town. The room was very spacious and had one of the most comfortable beds we experienced in SE Asia! Will definitely consider staying here again next time we're in the area.
Solo stay
It was difficult to take a shower as the temperature fluctuates! There is also a gap between the bed and the wall, making it less comfortable to sleep. There is supposed to be hourly shuttle service but will need to call reception prior.
Great hotel. The swimming pool is a bonus.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Perhaps a little out of the center of town but we didn't mind. Enjoyed the swimming pool and sound of the waterfall with beautiful koi. The room was very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Staff was wonderful. Helped us book a cooking class that we loved.
Worth a stay!!!!
We had a wonderful stay at the Thannatee hotel! The staff was very helpful and courteous and the shuttle to and from the airport was extremely helpful. The hotel itself was gorgeous with a great atmosphere and it was located in a quiet neighborhood very near old city and the night bazaar. Once at the hotel we were able to walk everywhere we needed. We loved our stay and couldn't say enough good things about our experience.
Nice friendly hotel
A nice boutique hotel with friendly staff who were happy to engage in conversation and assist with tourist and local information, they did that little extra that is always pleasing, I would recommend Thannatee on this alone.
Relaxing boutique break in Chiang Mai
Hotel is outside the old town in a quiet area. Hotel shuttle to the old town although it is walkable (10 mins), and bike hire available at £1 per day which we used as a great way to explore the old city and down to the river, seeing a lot of traditional villages. Pool is small, and not many sunbeds but in a nice setting. Staff really helpful. Breakfast was included and very nice. Room I thought for the money was amazing, very nicely done out in a traditional style, although dark and you need a mossie plug-in. Would stay here again.
Very Nice!!!
Expect a fusion of rustic charm and modern comfort in this themed boutique hotel. Nice facade, with good facilities and amenities to match, including swimming pool, a photo-worthy waterfall, free use of computers, strong WiFi signal, etc. Hotel has exceptional service, largely attributed to the many helpful and attentive hotel staffs. Upon checked in, they offered welcome tea and provided free fruit platter for guests daily. They were also enthusiastic in providing travel advises and recommendations. On top of complimentary airport transfers, they also have daily FOC shuttle services to several key places of interests such as the old city, night bazaar, the Nimman area, and even Chiang Mai University. While you may not find a very wide spread of food during breakfast, there were certainly sufficient healthy and appetizing choices, and the portions are generous. Location wise is splendid - 5min walk to the fringe of the old city, 10min walk to the nearest street food and morning market, 15min walk to Saturday night market or the night bazaar, and it is easy to hail public transport from the hotel too.
staff very friendly and willing to help
Fun atmosphere for a couple.
The location was a bit obscure, tucked away on a narrow side street a few blocks outside of the old town boundaries, but the setting and design was delightful. The room decor and attention to detail created an Oasis that felt like we were living in an Indiana Jones movie. The pool was just meh, but we loved our room and it was super comfortable.
