Nice place

Enjoyed my brief 2 night stay here...was able to check in a little early...nice clean and comfortable room...good wifi...was nice to have a washer and dryer...stored my luggage for a few hours after checkout...would definitely stay here again

Loved the Washing machine & dryer. Disappointed no cook top to cook steak. Microwave was in room, fridge was small for an apartment. Overall we were very happy. Staff very helpful.

3 days in Christchurch

Our journey started in Christchurch for 3 days sampling great food and wine. The hotel was close to the centre of town without being right in the middle. Provided a great location for exploring the surrounding area. Hotel was clean and comfortable and Brian was a great host.

Parking was a little tight. Other than this it was a great location.

Great apartments

Great place, very comfortable. Loved having the lounge area makes it feel very homely, would be great for families

A great place to stay for a night or two. Within walking distance to the CBD.

Only things we didn’t like was the noise of the fridge ( just not used to having one running in the same room) and the height of the bath was a bit awkward as I have bad knees.

I liked it because when we had trouble or wanted a longer checkout he was ok with it and he was so helpful too.

Enjoyed staying there. The plus was having a washing machine and a dryer in our room which was amazing.

The property is functional. They have everything, washer dryer, jetted tub, kitchenette, microwave, small fridge as well as a small balcony. I'll say the carpet, the mattress and the sheer curtains need updating. Otherwise, all good.

Mini Holiday in Christchurch

Our 1 bedroom apt was comfortable. We did not realise no air conditioning. It was quit hot however we did ask for a fan .

Good Stay

Good sized apartment style room in a decent condition. Good location about a 15 minute walk into central Christchurch.

Very obliging host

Room size is very decent and clean. Indoor washer and dryers makes laundry super easy m, the host provide washing powder too! Most of amenities needed in well equipped. Very functional accommodation. Highly recommend for small/mid size family max sleep 5pax comfortably 👍👍👌.

Disappointed, the unit needed a good wipe down and a dusting. The carpets were not clean the down blanket and cushions tired and stained. The plus - great shower with lots of pressure

Terrible experience, appalling service and they didn’t care in the slightest. Room was not as booked to include child, mattress on the floor not acceptable. Appliances didn’t work well. Had to ask for room to be serviced. Everything was a disaster and not cheap. Had contacted for refund and been ignored. There is NOTHING luxurious here.

This is a truly luxury motel. It has well functional in-room washer and dryer, AC and heater. I also like their bed because of it uses a very soft and comfortable quilt.

A good one night stay

The host Brian was lovely and very helpful. Quite knowledgeable about the area too. Accommodation was basic and a bit dated yet clean and tidy and great for a short stay. Loved that the kitchen sink was separate and not in the bathroom! Parking also available on site

Nice stay with jetted bath

Had a nice stay. Enjoyed the jetted bath. Bed was large and comfortable. Lots of Sky channels. Walkable to the city but a bit of a distance. Property was a bit tired but well maintained. Possibly wouldn't describe as luxurious, but overall very comfortable.

Great place to be based in Christchurch. Friendly welcome and helpful chap. Highly recommend

We had a nice room on the ground level of the motel. The room was cozy and comfortable. The shower was a bit different, no door or curtain to keep the water from going all over the bathroom floor. The bathroom floor was tile and when wet and soapy it was slippery. The accommodation is located in a nice part of Christchurch and not very far from the airport.

Easy

Since discovering Terre Vive we won't stay anywhere else for an inner city stay. It has all you need for great value. Clean & warm rooms pleasantly decorated, & comfy beds.City only a 10 min walk orc5 min Uber.

Definitely the Terra Vive is a charming place to stay and what is even more charming our the hosts Brian and Mandy who made our stay in Christchurch even more pleasant. We had a travel issue to deal with and they made our situation easy and encouraging to deal with.

Proximity to the city was excellent and within easy walking distance. Wasn’t keen on the ensuite due to the shower spreading water all over the toilet and floor area. Could also do with an exhaust fan. Overall a very good facility and would stay there again.

Lovely helpful manager. Clean and tidy.Washing machine and Dryer was handy. Central to supermarket. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone.

The check in process is very fast and you have everything ypu need in your room. Some good cafe around.

Didnt like that it had no sky and think it needs a fresh up. Looks very mismatched in interior. Service was good.

Had everything I would want and also the room had its own washer/dryer. 15 min walk to the centre. Only downside was check out (especially early), there was no where to leave the key at the office. It took a phone call to the manager to verify where I leave the key. It would be helpful if the place had a box to leave the key or made it clear where to leave it, especially for foreigners who may not have a SIM card with local calls included.

This was recommended to us and it lived up to the recommendation would not hesitate to stay there sgain

If wanting a quieter city stay only a 12-15 min walk, 8 min e scooter or 5 min Uber to Casino & city night life, don't look past Terra Vive. The spacious suites have everything you need and desire being tastefully decorated and immaculate...making some knowen bigger Hotel names knowen in the city a joke in comparison. The stay is topped off with such a great helpful, trustworthy and freindly host.

This place is always my accommodation of choice in Christchurch. High quality standards at a reasonable price, close to town and good off-street parking. Can't be beaten in my view.

We loved our room, it was modern, clean and tidy. We loved having a washer and dryer in the room to use. We would recommend staying here to all.

There was mould in the spa bath and a broken power swtch plate in the bathroom. Very small fridge. The selection of tea was limited to black tea and only white sugar, no sweeteners. The place was ok but definitely not luxury.

Close to CBD but far enough to be quiet. Easy access to parking area, even with roadworks on the road in front. Kitchenette so we could prepare some of our own food. Close to many hotels, entertainment etc. Good coffee ship/cafe on opposite corner

Great place to stay.

Washing machine and dryer a nice surprise. Good parking and ease when extending my stay longer, good cafe just across road.

Room was tidy and the jetted tub was best thing I like about it

The room was nice and warm and we didn't even need to use the electric blankets. Generally pretty good but a couple of relatively minor maintenance issues (light over external staircase not working and very dark when used at night; bathroom door a little squeaky)

Easy walking distance to the city. Couple of lovely places to eat. The check in was simple and the owner was very helpful. Great accommodation.

My Christchurch accommodation of choice.

This place earns top marks for every criterion. I couldnt fault it in any way and I have stayed in many places over the years. Well done to the vendor.

This was the nicest place i have stayed in christchurch. I have stayed in a fair few motels over the years and they all have that smell when you first walk in like stale smike hidden under chemicals... Not this place.... Lovely host, lovely room, lovely weekend!

They were very thoughtful, especially for a travelling guest all the amenities were provided which made the stay very comfortable. Would happily recommend this place to anyone.

Property was on a quiet side street but close to the Main Street of Colombo St.

This was a great little place to sty with in suite laundry. It's location was very central to all of the things we wanted to do and within walking distance of the central attractions and restaurants.

Very nice owners, great place, very roomy. Not an easy walk to town or city parks, but a wonderful place to start our New Zealand vacation!

The room is well appointed, including a kitchenette, washer and dryer. The manager/owner was pleasant and accommodating. The location is not the most convenient for dining and sight seeing, but is a short Uber/bus ride from the CBD. Excellent value for the price.

Lovely apartment with beautiful ensuite, good kitchen, pull out double sofa bed for extra guest easy drive around to see the sights enjoyed our stay.

A good size

A good location close to the centre of Christchurch close to restaurants and transport. A good sized unit, clean well serviced had everything we wanted. The manager was very helpful

2 night stay

The apartment had everything you needed, it was comfortable and spacious. Very helpful and informative greeting when we arrived.

Excellent customer service .

Lovely accommodation. My room had a lot of space and a lovely balcony with table and chairs to enjoy the lovely ChCh summer weather with a glass of wine. The huge bonus was a washing machine and dryer in the apartment, which I have never had in a motel anywhere in NZ before. Even though the motel is on busy Bealey Ave, it is back far enough from the road to not hear any road noise. I would definitely recommend this motel!

It is decent but not as clean as I expected. The rooms are stuffy with no good air ventilation as no AC provided. The good thing is the washine machine n dryer are provided in each apartment. This gives alot of convenience and the washer is good.

Owner/manager on site was very kind. The apartment we stayed was spacious, has washer and dryer, full kitchen, and bathroom has a big jetted tub. Location is not far from Cathedral area and food places

Brian was outstanding. Very helpful, very accommodating. The room was ok. Luxury is a stretch. I suspect ours was the smallest room in the place. And while it was clean, it was tired. Carpet was old and stained, furniture noticeably beat up, mattress a little saggy. Location, cleanliness and shower were good.
