Great location
Very good hotel, quite big rooms, excellent breakfast, conveniently located right in front of the subway station. Loved it!!
This hotel is right next to the metro line. Easy to navigate around Beijing, it’s also convenient if you are catching an early flight from the Beijing capital airport - there’s a direct metro express line.
Air conditioning not working. Front desk rude. No complimentary carpark for room guest.
It’s very convenient to transport and the hotel is very new and clean. Staff are very friendly, very good experience.
Decent Stay
Overall a good experience. However, for some reason the room temperature is centrally controlled, NOT self controlled in each individual room. I went to Beijing in November and the room was very stuffy and hot. I had to get a couple fans to maintain the air flow.
Pleasantly nice
Gd stay next to metro
Fantastic!
Will return if I visit Beijing
Stayed for a week for work. Most convenient location, right next to a subway station. Absolutely comfortable bedding. Quiet and clean environment. Super helpful staff.
Convenient location and restaurants around. close to subway
Could be better
The hotel just went through renovation, however the Reno puts the used to be 5 star to a 3 star inn type of place, and the price is not justify the condition. But in general it’s fine considering the price is still cheaper in Beijing compared to other hotels in the same category.
Super helpful staff, friendly towards foreigners. Was assisted multiple times - directions, tour bookings, recommendations etc. Special thanks to Mr Spring Si and Mr Lang who helped me with arranging and booking a tour of the Great Wall, Tian An Men Square and Forbidden City Tour. Location is great too - being right beside the metro, it was super convenient to get to shopping centres and the train station. This offered a great alternative (faster) to being stuck in the Beijing traffic. Nice and clean room. Overall, would highly recommend.
Everything is up to date except for the shower room. We will definitely stay again if we visit Beijing again!
Very nice hotel. Great location! Helpful staff!
- Shower in my room not well designed. The lowest part of the shower was below the drain so if I have two showers between room cleaning you have to step into cold wet standing water which is a health and safety issue. The hotel must know this is an issue but still sells the room. - inconsistent service. Sometimes I was left enough towels others I wasn’t. Sometimes room was dressed down in evening others it wasn’t. - maid service wake you up early when most hotels I’ve stayed in know when a guest is in their room and leave them alone. - swimming pool needs a cap to be worn. I was provided one but my brother was turned away. - the staff are very efficient but in doing so seem a touch cold which is really unusual when I compare hotels across Asia where there is a blend of efficiency and warmth.
Right next to exit C Dongsi Shitiao Subway station. One stop away from Dongzhimen express line to PEK.
Near subway station
Excellent for its value
Great stay! Clean and advanced amenities. Only downside is the rooms did not have air conditioning, so sleeping at night was very hot.
Hiding Pearl
Very convenient location
Can it be better?
Amazingly nice people, comfortable accommodation and superb location. What more can one wish for? Knut
Staff was very helpful regarding one problem; I got an upgrade free of charge; Hotel is close to Beijing subway.
Really old property. Carpet smells bad. Excellent location.
WF from Vancouver
The shower head did not work properly, they upgraded me to a suite once there was room available. The front desk staff are helpful. The breakfast was really impressive. The location is excellent, right outside the subway station.Overall it was a pleasant stay.
Loved the location, steps from subway system. Since our visit was sightseeing , being close to an easy transportation network was a plus. Staff friendly and helpful. Hotel clean.
Great value for money. Awesome location.
I stay at the Swissotel whenever I am in Beijing. While the rooms are a little dated, they are comfortable and clean. The best thing though has to be the location. Situated on top of a subway station and very close to SaiTun/SOHO area.
Double, not Twin bed
Reception staff was not very understanding of my insistence on a double room, which is what i had booked, and NOT a twin room, i took the initiative to ring to confirm an evening checkin, but was still asked by management what time i rang, as if that should matter. Alas with a heavy heart the senior checkin staff let me get 'upgraded', the room looked no different to standard double room, but with bar facility.
Hotel is old and in very poor condition with MOLD, rust, broken tiles , “tap water is not safe to consume” and many other unsafe health conditions. Don’t go there!!!
Very convenient! Will be renovated soon. Guess price will go up after that.
In need of renovation
Hotel is very close to the subway which is great but it is quite rundown and in need of upgrading. Wall paper was peeling off walls. Shower water pressure was low - shower into bathtub.
The Swissotel has a good reputation, it provides good quality food and the gym and spa (including the swimming pool) are very well kept, however this property is in need of repairs. What made this hotel stand from the rest is the quality and efficiency of service of the staff working at the Executive Floors.
The only hotel we stayed in in China that had a pool and spa. The concierge was fantastic. Big rooms and close to metro.
Great stay overall
Super convenient location... Friendly staff... Loved my stay... Will be back again...
Picked this hotel just because it is close to the place I work.
Very convenient
A good hotel in Beijing city center. The location is very convenient as it's right next to the subway station and quite close to most places. The room was comfortable and of decent size with nice bathroom and amenities. Breakfast options were good with many Western options. Will definitely stay here again when I return to Beijing.
GREAT EXPERIENCE. Clean, easy to get to and plenty of bang for our buck!
Internet is horrible lots of hiccups and slow.
Very nice place

Good location
So easy to access the metro station as it is right opposite the hotel. It is also walkable between Sanlitun and the hotel. Very good service as well.
Review of visit
Good for a business trip.
Good stay. Comfort bed, bath and heating. Walking distance to a lively district. A bit of cigarette smell in the room that I can forget.
Consistent and fine
It is consistent. I have stayed here before and probably will again. It could use a makeover, but the staff are good.
Perfect location
Perfect location next to subway and the staff is very helpful
Personal service
The spoken languages in English is average
Where is my booked king bed?
Checked in around 8:00Pm but told that no king bed was available due ti the full house. Told that I checked in late. I booked a king bed via Expedia and even it was not a guaranteed, hotel shall do something better than just "full house". Stayed in this hotel all the time when I visited Beijing. I still like this hotel's convenient location, however, been a gold + member of Expedia for years did not get any advantage or at least get the bed I booked.
V close to the subway and restaurants
Really pleasant. Staff v knowledgeable and good English
Great location
Good hotel in a great location to explore the City. Very helpful staff.
My preferred hotel on trips to Beijing
It's not then newest or the fanciest, but when you account for the price, location, and service received, I am convinced that it is one of the best hotels in Beijing (friends tell me it actually was considered the best hotel in Beijing, twenty-some years ago). The building itself has seen better days and could do with a remodel, but the facilities and service are top notch. It has the most comprehensive gym of any I've seen in a hotel, including free weights and a rowing machine. The lobby bar, Flow Lounge, is a nice and quiet place to have a conversation with friends or colleagues, and they make a decent cocktail too. There aren't many hotels where the doormen are one of the things that stick out to you, but the guys here are pros at greeting guests, giving directions, or calling a taxi for you. There's a metro station entrance literally right outside the front door, and it's also a five minute taxi ride or twenty minute walk to Sanlitun, where you'll find tons of great restaurants, bars, shopping, and nightlife.
The air-conditioning was poor. As a result, the room was hot and uncomfortable. I complained about it to the front desk; they said they would check it out. However, nothing came out of it.
Could be improved!
I didn't understand the breakfast special when I was checking in so I declined it. When I understood it later the next day after talking to the restaurant staff, the front desk would not let me have the breakfast special price. The staff's English appears to be the limiting factor. Or the the hotel is just too stiff in its policies. Not happy about that. The restaurant staff also keep giving me the wrong information about its dinner buffet. At first I was told two times "yes" the half price starts at 6:00 pm. When I was paying the full price bill, I was told it starts at 8:00 pm. The hotel needs to have its offers in clear English.
We had a great stay. The rooms were very comfortable. Hotel is very close to metro line. Concierge was very helpful to get us tickets to an acrobats show. The entrance to the hotel was a little difficult to get to. It would have been nice if breakfast was included.
Good value and convenient
The subway is right outside the hotel. It is located in a quiet and nice area. Room is clean.
Good deal for the price
I had a good experience with the hotel. Breakfast is more expensive than usual, but the quality is good. The room is very clean, though the shower door and floor could use some renovation. Location is convenient, right next to the Dongsi Shitiao subway station.
Beijing made easy
Only several steps from the Metro station. So kind at reception, easy place to great around Beijing from.
Bejjing week days
Not a good value for money
Old but convenient
Building looks old and is old, room is small and outdated; however, it is right next to subway station, very convenient to travel using subway
Very old
The hotel is very old. Its decor is out of date. The room is dilapidated and looks a bit dirty. The lift lobby is drab and has a soggy smell. This is a Swissotel that charges the usual Swissotel price but offers a two-star experience. The only comfort is its proximity to the metro station and the airport express line.
Superb Hotel close to Metro station
The hotel is great with very comfortable and clean bedrooms. The staff is very helpful. Very expensive breakfast. Close to metro station to transport you to main attractions.
nice hotel
Beautiful hotel and centrally located next to the subway. Within walking distance to several markets.
Almost swisshotel
it was a pretty decent hotel with nice pool and gym. perfect location. good internet connection that i can access blocked sites without VPN. lovely staffs. prompt cleaning. HBO on the TV. >>>>> all is well EXCEPT the cigarette smell in my room it was so horrible it makes everything worse.<<<
No A/C
Seems like Beijing has a a/c rule. In April the a/c are not allowed to be turned on. The room was not just a little warm, but HOT and very uncomfortable.
Good service and excellent staff.
Very good. Need to include breakfast
Was comfortable and price well but it should of included breakfast
Size of room
In the Expedia website, the hotel described the room size as 700 square feet. I travel and stay at hotels every month. The room size was not much bigger than 500 square feet, a little disappointed as I like large rooms. I have stayed at the Swissotel before, other than the room size for this particular reservation, the hotel is clean and the staff are very nice and attentive.
Close to subway
Nice hotel that is convenient for transport, food, supermarkets and 24 hrs convenient stall. Super good for tourist... especially for cold weather.
Never stay in there!!!
in European countries many Swissotels are just perfect, clean, nice and comfortable; but this Swissotel was terrible, everything building, furniture and all facilitates are very old. Plus, service people were not really friendly.
Central
Central and convenient--but a little worn
Disappointing stay!
Central heating temperature setting was not operational, only on and off. Even when it was shut off, the room was extremely hot and I had to open the window to cool the room down. However, with the window open, you hear the construction banging noise in the middle of night and air pollution coming into the room. So it wasn't able to sleep during my stay there. Also, the toilets and drainage were constantly making flushing noise and emitting unbearable sewage smell from time to time. It was totally disgusting because the room was hot and it smelled like a dirty washroom. I've been complaining about the heating and cooling inssues for the past 10 years! They still haven't fixed it for some of their rooms. This is a 4 star hotel and the condition of the room from time to time is worse than a 2 star. I think the issue with the heating is it's centrally controlled and the thermostat must locate in a cooler part of the building. When I complained to the reception during my check out, she was laughing and didn't take me seriously.
Very good hotel
Clean and comfy room, nearby subway station and 7 eleven. Nice staff! Will stay again!
good hotel close to metro
I appreciated the fact that this hotel was only about 50 meters to the dongsishitiao metro station. It had a high standard in general.
Very close to Metro
When I arrived I was told my reserved room type wasn't available but they upgraded me to an apartment which was very spacious with a kitchen, living area and bedroom. The room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel is just a few steps from Exit C at Metro Dongsi Shitiao. I couldn't find nearby food so I traveled 1 metro to Donzhimen for food and supermarkets. The Gym is also well equipped.
Convenient ,clean and great hotel
I had a short stay in Beijing and picked up this hotel for the great location, friendly staff. great access to the capital Airport (PEK).
Clean hotel in good location
I have stayed at this hotel several times, mostly because of location. There is a metro stop just outside the hotel, and for taxi coming and going, the hotel is very close to 2nd Ring Road There are many good restaurants an easy walk from the hotel. Walk east on Workers Stadium North Road or go out the back of the hotel and walk south on Dongzhong Street (turns into Jishikou East Road)
Business friendly
Cheaper option compared with those around
Poor concierge service and very worn out condition
Poor hotel concierge service, the concierge just took my big luggage into the lift and left. I booked executive room and expected to be check in at the executive floor and wasn't expected this kind of poor concierge service at all. Hotel room at executive floor are extremely worn out condition, close to three stars standard.
Hotel was just ok for our short stay
Our stay was only a few hours due to it being a place to rest while we had an overnight layover. Due to our short stay, here are some brief notes: We arrived in the very early morning hours and had about 6 hours before we needed to leave for the airport again. The lobby was quiet due to the late hour, but in the morning, it was lively with activity. The staff arranged a taxi for us the next morning, which was waiting for us as we checked out. Our room was just ok and the bathroom was slightly dated. In the end, it was a place to rest between flights.... albeit a good distance from the airport. We should have planned better for distance.
Nice hotel in center city
Nice hotel with central location a little bit consumed
Usually quite good
I intended to make this hotel my usual Beijing home, but this last stay had a critical problem - no internet or very weak wifi for my entire 3 day stay. Since I was there on business and must communicate globally (which includes long explanations/messages and sending files), this is absolutely unacceptable. The rooms, staff, gym and breakfast all meet or exceed my expectations, but reliable communication takes priority over all. Whether it was a hotel problem or an issue with the ISP, this must be resolved in a way that it never happens again - backup systems, spare parts, whatever.
Right in front of subway station
Pleasant and helpful staff, good location situated in front of the subway station. But hotel really needs maintenance work done. Our bath tub was blocked on the first day and a significant amount of deposit was collected at check in ( this is in comparison to a much better well maintained hotel we stayed prior who requested a lower amount of deposit)
Great hotel at great price.
Very central - on subway line. The concierges were Very helpful
good 4 star hotel
Yes it's rated 5 star, but because it's showing it's age and also has limited facilities, it's more like a good 4 star hotel. Rooms were good sized and clean, with good stocking of amenities, but really at a 4 star level, not 5 star, so fitting for its true rating. Right on top of MRT so also very convenient, just one stop from the airport express, but if you walk from airport express it's about 20 easy minutes
Nice location
I enjoyed my stay in this hotel as I spent 8 days. Check in was easy and quick. At arrival, I was attended to by staff from the outside of the front lobby to the check in counter. The room was clean and comfortable.
very convenient
Excellent location for anywhere! Good service and concierge ! We needed a taxi by 4 am and the staff were ready to help us to check out and to call the taxi by doorway! It took only 28 min of driving to reach the airport. When we came, we found the airport express to Terminal and transfer to #2 train for only one stop. The stop in right under the hotel. Take the exit C. ,
Great location, but really tired
The hotel used to be luxurious. Not anymore. It is old and tired. The a/c in the rooms is terrible. The keys don't work half the time. I stayed on the executive level which included breakfast. Nice, but not spectacular. Will probably Ok for another hotel next time.
Not the best choice in Beijing
The room was quite dated and the air con was not working like it should. Actually I have made 3 stays during the past 12 months, only second stay with a working air con in the room.
The hotel is closed to subway, convenience to connect to another point. Staff service is good with pleasant.
The air conditioning doesn't function right. My room faces west and it's above 28 in the afternoon. Complained to the front desk but never got solved.
20m from subway, very convenient to go anywhere!
The staff are very nice and helpful. And the hotel being that close to the subway it's really great. The room carpet very durty. The use of cap is mandatory for swimming pool, but if you dont have any, they sell for 80rmb (too expensive) and i think that they should inform the clients during booking. If you eat at the hotel, I think it's too expecsive, so I recommend you plan to eat outside the hotel.
Terrible hotel
The main lobby is beautiful but we went up to the room it was a disappointed. the carpets stain and fouled odors through out hallway and inside the room. The bathroom smell like pee. The AC not cool at all even when they come and look at it. The staff is friendly.
Nice, little older and run down but staff was excellent
Nice hotel - convenient
Aside from the restaurant staff not understanding "service" ... everything else was excellent.
A good value
Hotel is ok but not near much and smells musty
excellent location, subway in front of hotel lobby
Hotel staff are polite and helpful, concierge service excellent. housekeeping staff clean the room entirely. nonsmoking, clean and non noise. very happy with the hotel services. Lufthansa crews stay in this hotel as well.
Convenient to metro Line 2. Limited restaurants choices. The hotel did not offer free breakfast during our stay. Be careful to the cab waiting in the front. They intended to make you pay more. Facilty is a little dated.
Beijing Stay
The hotel was fine although not as close to bars and restaurants as would have liked.
Nickle and dime you
Our experience at this hotel was terrible. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels in China and the service here was atrocious! We booked a standard room with 2 twin beds. We then paid an additional 500 RMB to upgrade to a junior suite executive level room. This allowed us to have some meeting room time. We were given a king bed and when we asked to swith to a room with 2 twins or to have a roll away bed they asked for 200 rmb extra and would not reimburse us to go back to the room with 2 single beds. We were told the buffet was 200 RMB and upon paying for the dinner the tab said 288RMB. When reserving our meeting we were told that drinks on the executive floor were free. upon leaving the staff gave us an invoice of 42RMB per drink, roughly $7, per can of coke or bottle of water. When we checked out they found cans we had already paid for in the room and tried to charge us for those at 42 rmb a piece. Above and beyond you must know that the wall paper is peeling from the wall, the food at the buffet was bland, the chefs didn't want to serve is but kept saying they were tired and wanted to go home. Dont stay here. The staff is poorly trained, the hotel over charges, doesn't provide good service, and is a little run down. There are much better choices in Beijing.
Fine for a business trip, lacked atmosphere
This hotel was 'ok.' The rooms were clean with comfortable beds (although ours smelt of stale smoke), and the area fairly central, a good place to stay if on a business break. I felt the hotel was lacking in any atmosphere and the front desk could have been more helpful and friendly.. lacking in training and English skills and didn't give a good vibe. Our room wasn't ready on arrival and we had to wait around for over an hour (we did arrive before check in) but they weren't too helpful about it, and we were annoyed to discover that it was compulsory to buy swim hats to swim in the pool as a guest- these were overpriced and it seemed ridiculous that guests had to pay for these. I probably wouldn't stay here again. The lobby is quite grand, but the rooms fairly small and the whole place just didn't feel that nice somehow, lacking in atmosphere.
