The hotel is located in an excellent location in the heart of the city. It is very nice the chocolate fountain and also the staff is very friendly.
Cozy
We were impressed with this newer property having good soundproofing with the windows and blackout curtains. The decor is charming and fun. The room we had was tight, no good place to layout our luggage. The feather pillows are not ideal. If we were staying longer I would have paid for an upgraded room with more space. The room temperature was fine for the chilly weather.
I like staff service. They are very politely and nicely.
Good budget hotel.
It is a good budget friendly hotel in a great location near the Zurich HB, shops and restaurants. The bed was ok. The shower was the smallest i have ever used. I am 5'9" , 175# and it was really tight. If i dropped the soap i couldn't pick it up, there was simply no room. I don't know if i was the lucky one or if the other rooms also have tiny showers.
Not for me!!!
It was pretty horrible!!! The reception area was so small a dthe elevator so small, my scooter wouldnot fit. I had tl stay at another hotel further from the train station. They also had steps to get i to reception. Not mentioned on the reservation and not good for disabled people.
Great spot to get to and from. Shops, grocery, cafes around. Recommend
No parking, no lobby, narrow check in desk with 8 people waiting. Paid for a superior room and we had an attic. Could not fully stand on one side of the bed otherwise you hit your head on the low ceiling. Beam for the attic across bed and desk area. Hit head. Do not understand how you can call this a "superior" room and charge an extra fee.
Hotel is fine, not great, not bad. Nice and close to the main train station, used it as a last stop before leaving Switzerland. Wouldn't be returning but also didn't feel like it was horrible.
A little bit of a walk from the train station, and not quite in the center but it was still convenient for those who are able to walk. The concept of the hotel is pretty cool with their chocolate fountain in the front. The male receptionist was not so friendly or helpful but the girl, think her name was Meeri or something like that, was extremely nice, patient and helpful. The hotel was in pretty good condition, the room was small but comfortable.
.
This hotel does not have air conditioning. It has a cooling system that barely kept the room cool. We came in the summer and it was unbearable at night. On top of this two of the four rooms we reserved the cooling system did not work at all. The lobby and rooms were tiny with barely any space. Only good thing was the location. Very close to restaurants and metro.
Amazing staff and service!
Would go again
If you’re on a budget, this is great. Its super tiny but it had the comforts of coffee/tea and fridge in room which I find are essential. The location is 👌 great. I would definitely come back.
Too small bathroom, not user friendly. Had to change rooms the 2nd night - much bette r. The air conditioning was much better than other hotels in the area.
Great location for seeing Zurich. Room was comfortable and clean, cute small hotel with chocolate theme. Recommended
We were disappointed at the amenities and quality of the room we received for the price we paid. The room was extremely small and very poorly designed. We were interrupted by housekeeping mid-morning where they knocked once and then entered without being granted entry/waiting to hear whether someone was in.
Ok hotel.
Air conditioning did not work, reached out to hotel staff 2x and they claimed it was fixed. Our last night the air conditioner was blowing hot air. Asked for a remedy and nothing was provided.
Had to run the a c all the time just to keep the room comfortable, the refrigerator did not get cold.
Nice stay
Close to Zurich main station and in a good location otherwise rooms are small and staff was terrible. AC was not working.Would not stay there again especially for the price paid.
Great stay at this hotel. Conveniently located downtown and easy walking to restaurants and shopping. Highly recommended!
Reception terrible steps in the room outside steps Noisy hotel lift doesn't work for 3 days breakfast poor
This place was at a good location. However, our AC wasn't working during the night and it was very hot. The lobby is very tight and doesn't have much space.
Very small rooms
Bathroom extra small Elevator extra small Lobby extra small Price extra large
Great
I stayed in a single room, very tiny, but it has everything you need. Even an iron board 😁
I didn't know there was a visitor pass for tourists until I came to Lucern, and the hotel where I am staying just offered me this. Since i'm not paying taxes in Switzerland, i was given a ticket to have all transportation being covered for free! - Becausebof this im feeling a bit disappointed that I wasn't told by the staff at the hotel in Zurich. Also, i didnt like that every single night I stayed at the hotel my card was always deactivated, which it made me feel like an intruder every day. So every night I had to go to the reception to activate my card. Other that this, the hotel was clean, the decoration is great and also the location.
Great location, staff was extremely kind and friendly, beautiful view, bus stop near by. Will definitely be staying here again!
Good location for walking into and arounddowntown area. Accommodations very small. Staff not particularly knowledgeable.
Very solid hotel, clean and great location. Beds are comfortable as well and the property overall is in great condition, looks relatively new. My only complaint, a small one, would be more lighting in the bathroom. It’s kinda dim in there. Otherwise, great place for the rate.
Bathroom clogged and was a hassle to get two beds
Great location and newly appointed rooms
Great location in Old Town and a 2 minute walk to Central Tram station. Rooms are very nice and look newly done. I will definitely stay here again when back in Zürich or try another of their hotels.
Great convenient place. Would be great to have a secure card to go up to hotel floors. Windows are great sound proofing.
Hotel was in a great location within walkable distance to most attractions. Staff were helpful and hotel was functional
The pitcher in the room and mug was cracked. Place is convenient for all transportation. Close to restaurants and train and bus stations.
Central location very convenient
.
Wonderful stay! Very clean, modern, and convenient location to restaurants, shops, and transportation. Starbucks is just a few steps away. Sam was very welcoming and was very kind to let me check in early at no cost. Thank you Sam! The chocolate fountain at the reception is a nice touch!
Excellent spot, great attitude. It is rather narrow the building in the entrance and i wish it had a small ramp not to lift the suitcases in the 3 steps. But i would recommend it.
Great place to stay, very close to the station, very clean. Supermarket right in the corner, a starbucks too. Everything was great. Will recommend for sure.
The air conditioner was out of services and the hotel don’t have ice makers machine.
Great location. Clean and comfortable bed.
The business room was really small
Very convenient location. It was right in the heart of everything, shopping, train station, wonderful restaurants. Could not be happier with our location, The rooms were nice, comfortable, and not too big or too small. I would stay here again.
Great location for restaurants and old Zurich.
This hotel was terribly small and hot. Our room was less than 10 x 10. There was a full sized bed and maybe 10 inches space around it on three sides. There was literally no place to open or place a suitcase except on the bed. The shower/sink was so small you could barely open the shower door because you were hitting the sink. There wasn’t even room to turn around. The “chocolate fountain” in the lobby was a joke. The chocolate was gritty and the wafers to dip tasted like they had been sitting there since last year. The hotel lobby, halls, and rooms were blazing hot in September. DONT STAY HERE!
We stayed 3 nights in Zurich. The location is great, 5 mins walk from the rail station and the many highlights of the city. The check in was very friendly and efficient. The room was clean and comfortable although slightly on the small side. The next day we enquired about the lake cruise and the receptionist (Catia?) was very helpful, always cheerful. We had a very pleasant stay, the chocolate fountain was a bonus :)
Highly recommend. Beautiful rooms.
Nice place to stay, but in-room coffee situation is tragic. Luckily, Starbucks is just out the door.
The location was close to the train station -easy 5 min walk. Also close walk to many restaurants and a grocery store.
Great stay!
Overall is great!
We loved our stay at the Swiss Chocolate hotel! The staff was so accommodating and it was nearby all go the things we wanted to do in Zurich.
Nice Chocolate Fondue Lobby
Very small room. Bed is wedged against the wall. I couldn’t ipen my suitcase fully and use the desk. Windows open to next door neighbors. Clean and will get you by..
Hotel says they have air conditioning, but they do not allow you to control/ turn on. No air circulation when hot. Extremely noisy with windows open for air flow. Employee at check-in was friendly and helpful. Other front desk employees were not and acted as though we were bothering them.
My experience at this hotel June 2023
Terrible! In my assessment this is not a comfortable place to stay! The staff were friedly but the room too small and air conditioning does not work properly or comfortably.
Great location, friendly staff, but cramped.
The location was fantastic - 5 minutes walk from the train station. Staff were all extremely accommodating and friendly. The bathroom was a tad cramped (~5 ft. X 5 ft). The elevator was a god-sent but the Wi-Fi connection was very poor even though I was on the second floor. Kept losing connecton during a ZOOM meeting.
Convenient location. Did not have adequate AC for warmer temps.
The Limmat
Great location very central, so close to the LIMMAT river. Our stay was hampered with the fridge in the room not working nor the air conditioning. We loved the local bars and restaurants . ZURICH is just to beautiful
This hotel is centrally located with easy access to nearby waterways, train connections, and main train station. The facilities are modern and clean. All necessary amenities are available including in-room refrigerator, kettle, and etc.
The lobby is very small. Did not take breakfast offer (CHF22 a person a day) and glad we didn't. We saw that it was only a small sampling of cold cuts, breads, cereal and some coffee; certainly not worth what they were asking. There is no ramp to facilitate rolling luggage; one has to negotiate several steps by the front door which is also large, heavy making arriving departing customers struggle. The staff though were incredibly nice and pleasant with warm smiles and greeted us every time we walked by. Elevators in these old buildings are typically small; this one was no exception, though it was entirely made of glass walls so remained quite nice looking as the floors passing by while riding it. I didn't care for the dark scheme of wall paint and the large black and white portraits of old dead historic figures gave a feeling of creepiness. We stayed in room 505 (there were eleven rooms on our floor) with enough space for 3. The room was painted yellow with a wild flower print scheme. The shower was a glass wall enclosed tub without safety rails so it would be dangerous for seniors. The fridge and air conditioning didn't really cool, and there was no mini bar in the room. Bathroom was not well lit and lights in the room were positioned too low, making it hard to view anything. The bedside cabinets were made to look like stacked pieces of chocolate but didn't offer any drawers and were about as useful as treestumps. Great location but I doubt I would choose it again.
Clean ideally located property. Rooms were small as expected as were the bathrooms. Busy area so noisy with the window open.
None
Great location and great value in Zurich
This is a very nice property with a great location, located in the Old City. It is a short walk to the rail station. The room is clean and very functional without a lot of space. The check in/check out process was efficient and professional. I feel like the property is a good value and would not hesitate to stay again.
Room was lovely, staff were nice, the outside check in service said we could check in at 12, but then the staff said 3pm so we just stuck to the latter. The only downfall was the lack of the chocolate fountain (a big factor in why we paid more for this hotel than other cheaper ones - it was perfect for the chocolate part of our Switzerland holiday). The morning we arrived we saw it all dried up - clearly hadn’t been used for a while due how the chocolate at the bottom had separated, then we saw staff take it out of the lobby, we hoped to clean and restart as multiple guests checked in when we did but we didn’t see it again before we checked out the following day. Lovely hotel though, the theming is really cool without being too much, room was lovely, clean and spacious and we were given a small chocolate on arrival, just a shame the fountain wasn’t running for our stay!
Wonderful hotel in a superb location. The staff was helpful and attentive, the room was salacious and thoughtfully arranged, and the lift was a godsend. Highly recommended!
Charming
Very clean hotel. Staff extremely helpful
Found it cheaper on hotel.com
Hotel is typical ole European. Everything is small.
Clean, nice and helpful front desk, wonderful location
good location
Friendly, helpful staff at a very convenient location. The chocolate fountain in the lobby brought a smile to my face and stomach every time we went past.
Excellent stay. Very clean, friendly staff.
Convenient boutique hotel in the central area close to the train station and many dinning/shopping options. Guest services upon check-in could of been friendlier and detail cleaning is necessary (dusting). Rooms are compact especially restroom/showers. Also note,$ breakfast is an additional charge not included as advertised.
Very friendly front desk. Fun and comfortable hotel within walking distance of the train station and downtown. Everything is chocolate them and includes a chocolate fountain in the lobby.
