Great value for money hotel in the best position for exploring luxor and fantastic views of the Nile
Room was very small and congested. Carpet was very dated and looked dirty. No tea kettle in the room.
Très bruyant et veuilles hôtel propretés à désiré
Once again carpet in room very dirty. Water leaked onto bathroom floor
Good value, basic hotel. great views over Luxor Temple and the Nile towards the west bank. Breakfast was ok. No kettle in room. Can be noisy at the front with vehicles, dogs and mosque but for location and veiw, it is worth it
Friendly staff, good prices, and great location. Street noises and mosque call to prayer loudspeakers were the only detractors. Excellent "towel sculptures" by the room cleaner!
It had a great location for us, next to market and attractions. But very aggressive sales of cabs and other things right outside the door. Noisy but you feel more in the community
Decent hotel with okay prices. Luxor temple is very close to this hotel. The taxi drivers outside the hotel are relentless.
I loved the view of the Luxor Temple, the Avenue of Sphinxes, the Nile with its boat traffic, Hatshepsut’s Temple and the distant mountain containing the Valley of the Kings. All from my window! I loved watching the traffic on the street below, yes, the touts, the horse carts, all of it because it’s a part of the experience. The facility is vintage, so a bit dated, as I would expect other properties in the area and I’m ok with that because I wanted a local experience not an international hotel chain. A previous review mentioned street noise and lack of hot water, just be aware, and make your decisions accordingly. I know some would not but I loved my stay at The Susanna.
The place itself was nice enough with nice views of the river. It is across the street from where the tour buses and horse drawn carriages converge so it can get noisy at nights when the buses get into traffic jams all trying to leave at thevsame time. Could be considered part of its charm depending on how late you like staying up.
Great place at great price with awesome unobstructed view of anime and Luxor Temple. Only down sides are: hot water (let it run for 10-15 minutes to get to your room. We were on 3; getting back to hotel is difficult by taxi due to temple and one way streets. It’s convoluted but won’t cost more but goes through some sketchy areas (but safe). But the view from the restaurant (breakfast only?) was superb.
Decent for the price. Not bad, but not great. Would recommend people stay here if on a budget. The bathroom light broke when I was there. Hotel provides car services at a $10 fee which is not bad.
Excellent hitel
Excellent hotel views of Nile, great staff. Good breakfast
The Susanna Hotel is in an ideal location and the view form the dining room over the Luxor Temple and across the Nile is spectacular. Breakfast is limited in choice but plentiful. There are no safe deposit boxes in the bedrooms. Valuables can be left at Reception There is are no tea and coffee facilities in the bedrooms.
Needs some work do the rooms, but they are good for the price. And a excellent view
Amazing location! Right in the heart of Luxor, with the restaurant having the most amazing views of the Luxor temple and avenue of the sphinxes. The hotel is also situated in the city center, which was a joy to explore and walk around. Exceptional staff, Our housekeeper, Alaa, definitely put a smile on our face! Finally, the rooftop with swimming pool was an excellent added bonus to our stay
Excellent option to stay in Luxor.. The view from the room and the balcony. The restaurant and the pool. This room offers extra space. Breakfast is due. The air conditioning is excellent. The showers with hot water and good bathroom space. Clean and well-maintained facilities.
Perfect area! Right next to shops and restaurants, and next to the Luxor temple and our room had a lovely view of it! Also could see across to the valley of Kings lit up at night. Great breakfast in morning and rooftop pool (didn't use too cold). Staff was lovely and helpful and the room was clean! It was old however the carpet could use replacement but that's so minor.
The warmth of all the staff, always attentive and with a big smile, ready to serve. The size of the room, the silence at night, the comfort of the bed, the modern air conditioning. , The breakfast buffet. The swimming pool, the view.
-No water in rooms -States airport shuttle but none provided -Towels need replacements -Stained tub
The location is perfect, the breakfast exceptional, the price unbeatable, the personnel very helpful. But most of all, the view from the restaurant unbelievable!!!
Ideally located hotel, close to the Luxor Temple, the Nile and the souk. Clean room and bathroom. Good bedding. Hot water. Wifi. Breakfast included (self) which you can take in a large room or on the terrace with a view of the Luxor Temple, the Nile and the West Bank (Early in the morning, many hot air balloons can be seen in the distance). Good value for money.
Well i like people the most. Everybody was super helpful. I would like to thank Wael from the reception especially. He did the best for me. i wanted to do a late check out, thankfully they gave us more time. Also the sunset over the Luxor temple and Nile was spectacular. room was clean, spacious and very comfortable, breakfast buffet was very good and nice swimming pool on the rooftop.
I had a wonderful stay at Susanna hotel The location, comfort, and hospitality were outstanding. A special thank you to Beshoy for making my experience unforgettable; his attentiveness and kindness truly made a difference.and nice swimming pool on the rooftop I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting!"
Everything was perfect. The location is great. The view was amazing. The room was spacious and clean. Wi-Fi was fast. I recommend this hotel.
Very well located, walking distance from Luxor Temple. The bus station and train station are a few hundred meters away. The Luxor Temple and the Nile can be seen directly from the room's balcony. The view is very nice. The room was clean, the bathroom was also very clean and equipped (shampoo, shower). The room service is excellent, the breakfast is very delicious. Mohamed at the restaurant d and helpful. I recommend it to everyone who is looking for an affordable good hotel in the center.
Excellent location next to Luxor temple, close to the Nile and commerce and restaurants. very attentive and helpful staff. I kept the bags until the night at the reception free of charge as check out is 12:00. the hotel bed is also very good., good value for money and nice swimming pool on the rooftop.
The restaurant terrace they have is beautiful, it has a spectacular view in the mornings, afternoons and nights. The staff was very friendly and helpful at all times. room was clean, spacious and quiet, breakfast buffet was good, good WiFi service for free worked in any place in the hotel and nice swimming pool on the rooftop
Great location directly facing Luxor temple and sphinx avenue, room was clean and comfortable, staff very helpful and freindly, breakfast buffet was very good and nice rooftop with swimming pool
Good location. Friendly staff. No room service provided. Good breakfast included. Language barrier with most staff.
Their laundry service is fast compared to the rest of the Egyptian hotels we’ve stayed at where they air dry our laundry.
At check-in, they had no record of my reservation even though Expedia had confirmed the reservation and a reservation number generated. They asked me to provide the confirmation email. Luckily I had one confirmation email in my saved mail. Next, they said I had the option to pay at check-in or at check-out, I chose the latter which in usual in the US. I was then informed that WiFi is available without charge only if it’s used in the hotel lobby. However, should I chose to use it in my room where I spend my time and would need it most, i would have to pay for it. On the third day of my stay, I was stopped in the lobby and was informed that the decision to pay at checkout was changed and that payment was required now. I presented my credit card to pay the bill but they said that their cred card processor was not working, so I then tendered cash for the full amount. I just assumed that they did not have cash on hand and wanted some immediately which was the reason for the abrupt change of policy. On my final day at the hotel, checkout was at 12 noon but the woman at the desk found it fit to call me at 11:45 even though I was not in violation of the check-out time of 12 noon. Travellers expect the honest experience of other travellers to assist them in their decision making (I know I do). Therefore, with that in mind my advise is to stay away from the Susanna hotel at Luxor. Allan Alexander Georgia, USA
Luxor Temple at breakfast
Very beautiful hotel. In front of Luxor Temple, you can see it from your room, or in the breakfast floor (top floor). In the city's center, close to many restaurants, shops, very ease to find. Helpfull staff.
great location!
room is small and can be noisy from the traffic below but hotel is in great location. Close to all major attractions and markets.
Convenient location
This hotel was in the perfect location for a visit to all the sites in Luxor. The staff was friendly and helpful, but the hotel wasn't fancy. If you're looking for a simple place to stay, I would recommend this. The breakfast area has a wondeful view of the temples and sunset over the Nile and the pool would have been great if we had brought out swimsuits!
Good base for Luxor
Next to Luxor Temple, great view and good base for Luxor if only a short stay and arriving/departing via train (easy walk to station). Staff slightly too pushy on trying to sell a balloon ride (although not untypical for Luxor) and a bit haphazard in the way they dealt with checking in and taking payment. However, the West Bank tour booked through the hotel was fairly good. The guide took a little while to warm up after we instructed where we wanted to visit (which differed from where he expected to take us) but gave good information. Note taxes/fees of 25% are not included in the booking charge on Expedia (would be good if Expedia pointed this out clearly when booking).
rooms too small
The room is far too small, and it claimed to have wifi access, but in fact, it only has wifi in reception, not in the room. Sort of convenience location, near the temple, but window facing the street, very noisy. The only highlight I would say is the balcony on the roof, nice to have breakfast there in the morning to overlook the Nile.
