Nice, well-maintained older hotel. Three big malls are very close by (two of them are right next to the hotel.) Also, conveniently located to the Kali Mas river, whose banks are nice for strolls and just general hanging out. From what I saw, this area is probably the best in the city for tourist interests. Historical sites, restaurants, etc. The hotel is big, rooms are big. Just kind of old, but for me that was the cool part. It’s nice to see how much better things used to be just a few decades ago.

I choose this hotel because the location close to güveni station and beside mall easy to find food and room it’s very big

As far as value for money, this is a great choice. The facilities are old so a bit more difficult to keep super clean. Also could use some additional electrical outlets so customers do not have to unplug the lamps to plug in chargers, etc. They do have a pool that is clean but old. It took me 2 days of occasional walks to find the pool and the pool can be crowded in early morning. I like the mix of clientele which is national and international. I would stay here again.

Value for money. Surabaya plaza next door with lots of food and shopping. Other shoppings grab only cost less than $2.00. A convenient place to stay.

Decent stay

I was given a smoking room when it was stated non-smoking in my booking. Luckily the room did not reek of smoke although it did when i step outside. The staff did apologise to me and offered to change room once a non-smoking room is available. The condition of the gym/fitness centre was quite poor. Both treadmill machines were down and the stationary bikes were old. The pool was decent. The room was comfortable but I had some issues with the towels and sheets, as stains were visible. All in all, it was a fairly modest place to stay and I would still recommend this hotel to non-fussy stayers.

Great value for the money... spacious rooms with business table separately... cleanliness and daily room cleaning, good food at the restaurant... good for business travel , or to stay and see around Surabaya, all positive experience except for the WiFi...lobby WiFi had no issues, WiFi repeatedly get disconnected once inside the room...and had difficulty in connecting..if not for that ... great, stay👍

Property was in a great area across from a mall, rooms were a little older than expected but comfortable, price could be adjusted to reflect dating decor but overall comfortable stay

The room given was a big room. Breakfast was very chaotic as the hotel was hosting a big group during my stay and there was not enough food for all. The Gym and the Swimming pool looks dated and not very inviting.

Book if the price stay low

Was joining a sunrise trip to mount bromo and leaving for Yogyakarta the next day by train. So really just stayed for a short rest at the evening. Location is good - next to mall, close with train station. Condition is not the best but expected given the very low price, also very acceptable for a short stay. One major down side is that some room is facing the lobby, and despite we were staying at the top floor the noise from the lobby is still quite notable. Overall quite ok for our short stay given the price.

For my 1 night stay, I changed 3 rooms in total. Couldn't find a electric point for charging my laptop and mobile. Housekeeping told me to plug out table lamp and use power point, leaving the room darker (it was already pretty fun). The toilet flush doesn't work very well in the 1st room, also pillows looks old and out of shape (believe me, you won't want to touch it!). Requested for change of pillow and they offer me to change to a better room. 2nd room was not tidied and in total mess (I took picture but i will not post it here). 3rd room is a little better but it was a really a nightmare for me and I will never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Nice hotel close to the shopping mall and convention centre

Very poor experience

The hotel is in a poor state - although laundered, sheeted were ripped with some holes darned and some not. There were also pen marks on the sheets. Tiles were chipped throughout the property including in the swimming pool. The pool water was quite dirty with leaves and some litter in. The loungers were very old and some were also broken. In the bar, the service was fine if slow but we decided against eating in the property when we saw a large rat next to the bar which is located in the centre of the hotel. There are some restaurants in the shopping centre near the hotel and it is walking distance to the train station.

Terrible stay

I first stayed at room 710 which perpetually has this grinding noise coming from don't know where. It is sometimes so unbearable that i don't want to stay in the room. At night the wardrobe door cannot close properly and the lights from the wardrobe is so disturbing. The kettle is also so disgusting. Even after boiling a few times there's still something floating on the surface. When I returned to surabaya, i checked in and was given room 410. To my dismay, the room was occupied! I have to go down to the lobby again to request for a change of room. Then i was given room 412. As i was to check out early nx day, i called laundry service to enquire on express service. However it was a pure waste of time! The staff who answered my call told me he will come up and check before letting me know what time the laundry will be ready, but when someone did come up, he told me no express service. What is this?! They could have just told me over the phone right!! Why waste everyone's time!! All in all, i will never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Excellent location and good service, breakfast was ok. Pool was huge but inconveniently separated from the main building .The hotel has seen its better days.

Dated Hotel, but Spacious Rooms

Apparently they're called Surabaya Suites because all their rooms are Suites, even the standard ones. The room is spacious so thats pleasing. Location is ok, close to major shopping mall/plaza

I stayed for only one night. The room was not prepared. There was not towels and the room was really old.

4.5 of 5 star stay. Great for families & business

I had a very good 2 night stay. Staffs were friendly and helpful. I feel it is very value to stay here. You can easily get taxis to go anywhere. Room was very good and very clean. Only lacking a in room safe. You can also easily get food and any products from the nearby shopping centres.

Quite nice

Currently the hotel is still nice to stay but it needs improvement in the near future. If not, I'm afraid there would not be returning guests any longer. One of the things that might draw people interest is its location. The hotel is in the heart of the city so it is highly recommended in terms of distance to shopping centers.

There is no free shutle to airport as mention with the hotel pakage....breakfast quit good ...but dining room food not very tasty...better go premium plaza next door to get good n cheap food

Bad start which only got better

Short overnight stay. HAd a bad night did not sleep. Had a personnel problem with my partner. However was able too solve the problem and the room gave us the space to communicate and resolve the issue. We left the hotel in good spirit and enjoyed the breakfast. My partner was able to meet with her sister and family and have the room extended to 1PM. My partner had a business lunch and had a meeting with a high school friend she had not seen for 20 years. This was a good experience for my partner Siti. Maspupah. I collected my partner at 17:30 hours and she enjoyed her day with all the facilities that were provided.

Great location, all facilities, seen better days

I really enjoyed my one-night in the Surabaya Suite hotel. It has a fantastic location, minutes away from the shopping mall and train station. And all facilities that could be wished for - restaurant, gym, swimming pool, and great service. The facilities are not so well maintained (in particular gym and pool were not so clean) and not super modern but it didn't dampen the overall experience.

Comfortable hotel in the heart of Surabaya.

The Plaza hotel is well positioned for those that would like to be in a comfortable setting, near a mall (a minutes walk to 2 in this case) and good value for money. The staff are very helpful and pleasant to deal with, offering a new room immediately when I mentioned a problem with my first. I didn't expect that, although as it couldn't be resolved during my stay I appreciated them doing what they could. The gym and swimming pool are off site, a couple of minutes walk which isn't so bad, although the facilities are a bit below par. Altogether I would stay there again, happy with the personable service, level of comfort, location and pricing.

Very average place

Surabaya is certainly not a great place to stay. If you happen to be passing through, then I would sugegst staying xloser to the airport. I had to stay by the airport on my way out of Surabaya and found a very good place at a fraction of teh cost of Surabaya Plaza Hotel called Halogen. It is about 5 minutes drive from the airport and they offer a pick up and drop off service. Surabaya Plaza Hotel is about an hour drive from the airport.

Within walking distance to Shopping Centers.

Pros (1) Location is convenient. 45 minutes from airport (Traffic was on good condition on that particular day). Plaza Shopping Centre is within 1 minute walk. Another shopping centre within 15 minutes walk (crossing the roads were quite tough for foreigners as there was no sign of pedestrian crossing). Cons (1) Lady Receptionist gave wrong information. Informed us no wireless connection in room when there is. (2) Room has musty smell from the carpets. (3) Shower head was not in good working condition. We had to lean towards the wall to catch the water, so we only one third of bathtub.

I find the hotel staff to be friendly and helpful. Room is clean and of adequate size. Overall, a good weekend stay.

Good, very friendly staff

The hotel is located in the Center of Surabaya although I did not stay long enough to really experience the location. The rooms are of a nice size and are clean. The bathroom fittings could do with refurbishment, they are quite old but still in working order. Overall bathroom cleanliness is OK, mould around bathtub edges and bathtub inside with enamel damages. Wi-Fi works well and is pretty fast. Breakfast buffet is rich, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Egg cook has (for Westerners) strange habit of pre-preparing omelets and fried eggs in advance, leave them on the counter for self-service while he disappears for a while. The hotel enforces a very strict 'smoke free premises' policy, for me this is done much to aggressively.

Tobacco- free/nice staff vs. noise and mosquitoes

I stayed in some hotels in Jakarta where non-smoking rooms smelled of tobacco, this hotel had a very specific smoking area, loved that. The room was neat but the toilet was a little bit old and rusty, very nice bathtub. Including body lotion would be nice. I liked the towel policy, if you can still use it, hang it. Extend it to the bed linen please. I stayed 2 nights in a raw, one set of linen is enough. Leave it up to the client. The welcome free drink was a turmeric-base mocktail, they could enhance its benefits. Actually I was looking forward to a glass of wine but happily had my mocktail in the open bar and enjoyed the live music they played. Although the music was nice, they sung and played until late and I had to wake up by 7 am on one day and by 5 am the following day. I did not appreciate listening to it from by bed while trying to sleep. In addition, an annoying machine sound woke me up by 6, I wonder if it was because of my second floor room. Finally, I got bitten by mosquitoes several times, please place some repeller, candles or electronic devices in the rooms.

Big Dose of 3rd world

Surabaya Plaza Hotel is mosquito ridden, poorly maintained, and not very clean. However, the breakfast buffet is quite good and plentiful. The gym and pool are both large. The gym also has a staff member who helps you with your exercise routine if you are so inclined. Because I found it unpleasant and dangerous to walk around in Surabaya, I spent most of my free time at the pool or in the gym. They tended to be empty of guests except for me. The hotel was reluctant to exchange dollars for rupiahs so it was hard for me to shop. The hotel experience will be long remembered but not in a particularly pleasant way. If you go, it makes sense to use bug spray every evening. Get your rupiahs elsewhere. Enjoy the breakfast buffet, the gym and the pool. Don't expect any sight-seeing pleasures. You will be overcome by smog and soot just about everywhere. Pedestrians will have great difficulty crossing most streets. Stay alert and be ready to run if you try ambling around the streets. Motor scooters outnumber pedestrians 30 to 1 or more. Cars, trucks, and scooters have complete domination of all streets. I did walk and got home without injury but close calls were frequent. Find crosswalks manned by policemen. They will help you cross. Drivers ignore the red lights.

Overall the hotel is in great shape, just that you can't control the air conditioning. The other thing is that the grout around the tub has black mold.

ホテルの自体が古いので、快適さを求めるなら、他の新しいホテルを探した方が良い。スタッフは親切なスタッフで好感が持てる。昔はとても良いホテルだったと思う。コスパは良い。
