Lovely location

I will say that if you’re expecting a 5 star hotel like the states, you’re in for a surprise. The lobby and outside is currently undergoing construction and the lobby just feels a bit drab. HOWEVER, the room is quite new and it’s very comfortable. In addition, the staff is EXCELLENT. They assisted me with weighing my bags, packing it up, and even bringing it up and down to my room. I would say I feel like I’ve gotten better service here than some of the traditional 5star Hiltons or Marriott’s. It’s also an excellent location - with line 5 and line 8 nearby. There’s a bunch of shopping and food at Wangfujing and it’s all walkable. Definitely would recommend!

Convenient location, hotel wasn’t as expected for the price, the rooms are tiny.

Hotel room was so clean. They changed bed sheets every other day. Location very convenient.

Hotel under construction, we had booked for 3 persons, the groom was only for two and we had to pay for the third person again. It was very difficult to solve the problem, exhausted the staff didn’t speak English.

The hotel is being remodeled, it is hard to find the lobby. A 5 star hotel needs a large and beautiful lobby.

Great Location, Ongoing Construction

The service was great—staff were very friendly and helpful. However, the property is currently under construction, which made it difficult to unload/load luggage. There’s no dedicated parking space and essentially no functioning lobby at the moment. That said, the location is fantastic. It’s literally on the corner of the Wangfujing walking street and close to everything.

It's a nice hotel, great location, just right at Wangfujing street. Hotel offers decent breakfast selections, also offers afternoon tea snacks & happy hour snacks (no alcohol). I would stay here again. Minor issue-3rd floor to guests room area, strong smell, too strong, need to adjust less. If someone allergic, they won't be able to take it. I was on 10th floor so I didn't experience the smell but everytime walking to the elevator, the strong smell kept blasting at. I tried to message the property via expedia messaging, never got a response. I was trying to request pick up service from airport to hotel. Something hotel need to improve because guests from overseas sometime have questions or request. Check in staff was good.

The property is most convenient, is 5 minutes walking distance to metro line no"8, and the pedestrian shopping street is just 2 minutes away, check in was very smooth, we arrived at the hotel bit early then our check in time, but with out any problems they just check us in, so we can go and about to explore the area. The staff at the hotel is so professional every thing explaining slowly and clearly. If anyone are looking at this hotel I do recommend just paying a little bit more and chose the executive room. To my surprise at the executive floor you get breakfast, afternoon tea, evening happy hours are all included in the price. If one comes back from tours and tried and not going out then just get food and drink relaxed at the executive lounge. The staff at the lounge will welcome you once you appears. The hotels main breakfast restaurant currently is under refurbishment, the restaurant we are using at the moment is temporary but still with lots of choices, once the main restaurant is back on for service I am sure the veriety will more. If anyone travel to Beijing this is a hotel you must check it out.

The hotel is under renovations therefore many amenities are not available. Also, due to the renovations, it requires guest to take a flight of escalators before reaching the elevators. This is not friendly to those families with strollers/kids or the disabled. There is no other way around this…which I find totally unacceptable. Otherwise hotel is in a great location and staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are average size and clean. The gym and pool are only opened for limited hours.

Everything about this hotel is great! It’s clean and the staff are lovely, the only thing is the room gets a bit hot! Overall great experience, a special thanks for Mr song from the concierge he was really nice and helped with my bags, greatly appreciate it!!

Short holiday in Beijing

It’s a nice hotel , location is excellent, 5 minutes walk to subway station… very close to shopping mall. Dining and shopping is fantastic… will definitely recommend to friends to stay in this hotel…

Nice for hanging out and walking around for shopping and visiting museums. Not far from Beijing capital international airport. Very convenient for travel to different locations. Nearby subway stations. Only thing is room not that big but still good for two people have good time there. Good breakfast. West food and local style.

Absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. The staff were all friendly and helpful, answering every question and request we had. The area is very convenient for using the subway and walking down the vibrant street of Wangfujing. The rooms have been recently updated so they're modern and very clean. The daily breakfast had great variety and was tasty! I'd definitely stay here again. Great value for money. Please keep doing great work :)

Sunworld Dynasty Hotel Beijing is a great option - NOT to be confused with Sunworld Hotel (which is just next door, don’t do what we did and try to check in there if you’ve booked at Sunworld Dynasty) The staff, especially the doorman and bell hop were really friendly and always happy to help. The rooms were clean and spacious. Very comfortable and quiet, we didn’t hear any traffic noise or other guests coming in and out. I think they may have just renovated some floors as our floor always had a bit of a chemical smell, especially in the lift area but it was fine. The layout is a little weird as the hotel entrance and lobby are set on a completely different floor to the lifts which take you to the rooms, so coming and going is a little bit of a trek. We had breakfast included in the rate, good selection of eastern and western food, the Chinese options were definitely better as you would expect for a hotel in China. Location is great, right outside the major shopping areas with plenty of eating options. If you venture into the local neighbourhoods you’ll even find some great eateries that are embarrassingly cheap. There’s a metro stop a very short walk away so getting out to explore other areas is easy. Would definitely recommend and would stay again if we are back in Beijing.

Very warm and approachable staff. We can speak Mandarin, so language was not a problem for us. There is also a lobby security staff there, making us feel very safe. Walking distance (about 5min slow walk) to wangfujing street. And hotel downstairs have a convenient shop as well. Maybe they can consider placing more chairs around the lobby.

We were very pleased with our stay at this hotel. Especially the front desk manager Deng is very friendly and helpful.

Hotel location is good but it is located at the end of Wang Fu Jing walking street. It is about 200m walk to the main walking street but its ok. A lot of food choices around.

The location is perfect for the museums we wanted to visit and the staff was amazing.! They went above and beyond any hotel I have ever stayed at and I have been a world traveler for over a half century.

Hotel in the Vicinity of Beijing Forbidden City

The renovated rooms are extremely clean and comfortable. Quiet and dark. Breakfast buffet is okay if you are not too picky. Save you the hassle of hunting food outside. Breakfast starts at 6 am to 10.30 am. Gym and swimming pool is okay for a hotel - closes at 10.30 pm. Basketball court is under renovation. Frontline speaks English and they are extremely helpful and polite. The location of the hotel is great. Very close to two Subway stations - Dengshikou and Jinyu Hutong Stations. A stone throw away to shopping district and the Palace Museum and parks. Would come here again. Highly recommended.

Great location for walking to the Forbidden City

The location of the Sunworld Dynasty hotel was brilliant, it was only 15 minutes walk to the east wall of the Forbidden city and 25 minutes walk to the main entrance to the forbidden city. The traffic around the Forbidden City is horrendous so being able to walk was nice and relaxing. On the street corner people were doing keep fit dancing on the wide pavement and stalls were on the closed road. The hotel was having an entrance and bar areas refurbish but that wasn't a problem.

Great room in a good hotel

This hotel is in a very convenient location, on the corner of the main shopping street, where we were able to stroll every evening and see the cultural life. The room was a good size and the bed was enormous. The bathroom had both shower and bath and there was plenty of room in the bathroom to place all our stuff. The breakfast restaurant had no windows onto the street, which was a shame.

Great Location on Wangfujing

Great location at one end on Wangfujing served by 2 subway lines - 5 & 8. Closest hotel to the shopping street. Rooms are newly refurbished and very comfortable to return to after a long day out. Front-desk did well to perform service recovery after given us wrong room-types. Breakfast can be abit better. F&B staff not very attentive. On our 4th day, we decided to skip it altogether.

Our room was in tiptop condition with great facilities, including USB chargers. Great view over the Catholic church and Beijing's main shopping street. We could also make out the rooftops from The Forbidden City. We chose the exec floor which looked like it had just been refurbished. The exec lounge has snacks and cold drinks throughout the day with varying meal options at selected times.

My fiancee and I visited Beijing from Singapore and stayed at this hotel for 7 nights. We were very happy with our stay for the following reasons: - conveniently located on Wangfujing Street which has plenty of shopping and dining options. Is also a few minutes walk from the Jinyu Hutong metro station - service was amazing: allowed us to check in at 12 noon, staff were polite and helpful, the hotel also gave a complimentary executive lounge access and tickets to a evening performance on my birthday - very reasonably priced - is a old hotel but all the rooms have been renovated just earlier this year Would stay here again if we do visit Beijing again in the future, and would recommend friends/family to stay here

We were pleasantly surprised, the property but more importantly the staff were amazing. We booked a club room, Luna and Andrew in particular has made our stay amazing, so relaxed and so friendly. They have tried the best to accommodate our requirements and has help us feeling comfortable and enjoying our stay. Thank you Luna and Andrew and all the staff. We have been coming to Beijing for 15 years and staying in different hotels .. this stay was definitely one of the best! Truly recommended from 2 Australian travellers.

Great hotel

Good location, great breakfast, well-maintained, property, kind service. Would have liked the air conditioning to be a little cooler.

I would definitely recommend getting an executive room. The rooms themselves are renovated and there's some nice perks that come with it including a daily small allowance for laundry. We made use of the workout facilities quite often, though the basketball court was closed at the time. If you go for swimming at the pool, be sure to bring a swim cap (required) They had a nice small dedicated cafeteria on the same (top) floor with a nice selection of pastries, hot food (fried rice, noodles, congee, proteins, and veggies), cold dishes (sushi, salami, etc), fruit, and drinks (available at various times during the day). We found ourselves preferring this place during breakfast instead of the main dining area on the 3rd floor since it was so close (though the 3rd floor does have more options). At the end of the day, we usually stopped by for some fruit and drinks before heading back to the room. Or if we had a huge lunch, we would have a little bit of the hot food available as well. The staff on the executive floor (cao mengdi and all her coworkers) were really nice and helpful - either helping the kid grab his food, offering warm milk, and packing cookies and such for our departure flight. We were also able to checkout with the staff on the same floor without needing to go to the main floor and wait in line. They even offered to call the taxi and gave great feedback on when we needed to leave for the airport. Would definitely book with them again.

Newly renovated hotel in Wangfujing area

The service the Hotel Chinese restaurant was terrible. Our party of 9 were the only patrons (no wonder!); yet we waited 1.5 hours for a simple meal (contrary to their large poster of Peking duck, they had none) to be served. We had to ask several times for tea refills and utensils to be supplied. Though we had initially asked the hostess to bill our room, she accepted credit card from our friends, making us fight hard to obtain the bill.

ONE OF THE BEST PLACES i have ever stayed, i am so glad i chose this place and not the usual chain places, amazing room/staff/breakfast/amenities/location. i could not have chosen a better place. right on wangfujing, close to all touristic places, market underneath the hotel / mimiso/ pharmacy, all that you need is literally underneath the hotel. anytime i go to beijing, will not think twice and directly go to sunworld dynasty hotel.

I enjoyed my 8 nights stay in the hotel. The lobby looks dated. However the rooms looks like they are newly renovated. Hotel issued door card and lift card. Suggest to look into combining into 1. Part of the hotel is undergoing renovation when I was there. Guess that's why it's quiet. Breakfast buffet variety is limited and same food is served everyday. Gets really boring.

Overall good. The location is great - walking to a lot of things really easily. Room is on the small side but functions. The only issue is that during our stay with an infant, they didn’t inform us there would be renovation work going on from 8-12, then 2-6. So we were shocked hearing drilling while trying to put our son to sleep. Staff are friendly.

Awful security.

Clean room. But 2 major problems: 1) security is the worst. I put my room in do not disturb mode and went to the gym. Came back in 45min to see the door ajar and hear a group of people talking inside. I entered and was questioned by the housekeeper and two repairman who asked to see my key card to make sure Im the guest. They were repairing the exhaust pipe in the toilet which wasn't spoiled. How could you enter the room like this? Later on I realised that the moment you remove the key card in your room the Do not disturb sign goes away. This is not normal in any hotel. They even drew my Curtains while all my belongings were laid out. 2) walls awfully thin. You can hear the neighbours talking loudly and dragging luggages etc. if you're a light sleeper don't stay here.

The room is clean however there is not air-conditioning. The room temperature kept at 25C degree. Its uncomfortable inside the rpom.

A lot of restaurants nearby for quick local breakfast and quiet fine dinning. Bus across street and close to subway station. Walkable to Wangfujing for shopping ang night market. Staffs are friendly and helpful.

I had a very comfortable stay, after I moved rooms. The first night I arrived, I was put in a room that smelled of cigarette smoke, even though there were No Smoking signs posted in the room. I asked to move rooms the next morning and they put me in a very similar room without the smell of cigarette smoke. The hotel is older but it is well maintained and very convenient for tourists.

It is conveniently located in Wangfujing area, easy to access everywhere. It is old but renovated, the amazing great courtyard is so impressive.

The room was a little bit dark.

The Negative: Booked a room for 3 and paid the price accordingly as per the booking. But arrived to find that they only prepared 2 single beds. They wanted to charge us extra for opting to get an extra mattress. Hotel rooms smell of smoke despite being a non-smoking room. Just use the air purifier and it should take care of it after an hour or so. The Positive: Hotel is well equipped for winter conditions, heater and warm water for showers and bathtub soaks. Located in a prime area with plenty of dining and shopping, attractions as well. Convenience store is just opposite the hotel.
