We had a nice and pleasant experience. The food was good and staff were helpful. The view of the sea from the room was fantastic

We sort of faced racism while at the property. The staff during the breakfast acted as if we never existed, this environmemt persisted during our whole duration of the stay, other diners got imediate help and assistances whenever called upon, whereas we had to help ourselves in fetching the cutlery, glasses, etc. Even a simple query went unassisted. But the worse was they frequently made snide remarks and laughed about our ethnicity, it was good on my part that i understand thai. Such racist staff and behaviour has made me rethink of booking this resort and will not recomend it to anyone. Hope you understand and take imediate action on this.

Good hotel, co-operative staff, nice swimming pool and location. Good breakfast. Ovarall stay with family was quite satisfying. Also provides free shuttle bus for Patong beach area based on booking. Suggestion to improve: Finding the shuttle bus while returning is difficult as the driver, shuttle bus and times are not fixed, can explore for better communication for this. Breakfast menu is almost same daily, becomes bit boring if staying long / week.

As usual not enough umbrellas ☂. The breakfast was ok but the bacon was too crispy I found it difficult to cut.

Property is good but needs more maintenance, location is excellent. 5 star i would rate for the lady with 👓 at the reception as she goes above of anything to help out and she has been wonderful to me. Staff at the restaurant are shocking with their ignorance as i am a female solo traveller and every single one of them ignored serving me. So many people work at this resort needs training as customer service is terrible.. pool is beautiful and very clean.

Beautiful pool area, friendly staff and nice food. The rooms are comfortable and it’s a good location just outside of busy Patong. There is a free shuttle service to Bangala Road and Kamala beach is only a short taxi ride away

Staff are lovely, hotel is clean. This hotel should be a 4 star not a 3.

Everything was as expected. The ocean view was amazing and the rooms were cleaned and replenished daily. The staff were very helpful when I needed some medical assistance. The shuttle bus was a bit of a hit and miss.

Nice enough

Our room was a 1 bedroom suite with kitchen facilities, but had no hot water, nothing to clean the dishes, hygiene needs to improve, we were sick for six days with vomiting and diarrhoea. The shower over the bath was a hand held one, water would be all over the floor by the time you were finished. The cleaners would forget to give us a bath mat. The pool area was lovely.

Overall good

The property has a beautiful view of Patong Beach. It is right on the beach with balcony and in a quiet location. The things i did not like about this property is cleanliness of the room and shower and the food. The shower smells very bad and the room was very dusty. They did not clean the room. Also, they served the same food for breakfast and did not throw away the food that were spoil which caused me to have a bad case of food poison. I would not stay at the hotel again. I had to take medication

Not that great

Amazing Property , good location and great service . The breakfast buffet was delicious ! We only had a little problem with the electricity in our room . The power kept going out every night around 10:30pm and we had to call reception to get someone to fix it which was annoying ! It happened for 4 consecutive nights . Other than that we really enjoyed staying at sunset beach resort . Will definitely stay here again 😀

The hotel is great , pool area and room access is superb, but the the Hotel is only literally sea/beach view. Massive congested and very very busy road runs between the hotel and the beach. The route to Patong beach dangerous. A real shame as its position is good away from the filth of Bangla road. 😮‍💨😮‍💨🫣🫣☀️☀️🇹🇭🇹🇭

Great place

The resort was fantastic value for money. The decor was a little dated and some facilities like plugs etc could do with updating, but we were very pleased overall. The hot water was patchy at times. The staff were helpful and friendly. The location was great, away from the super bybusy parts of Patong but only a 200bht taxi into town. The pool was big and a great temperature.

room was not that cleaned, we had new towels every day but there was old stain n the towels looks like it could be replaced.

We had a good time. Especially the room with pool access. Love it. If I could suggest to add variety to breakfast buffet. I stayed more than 3 days with same menu every morning. Overall this hotel is recommended :)

The bed was too hard

The servicing of the rooms, the towels were a disgusting grey color (should have been white) only had 2 towels no hand towels or face washers. no mini bar or milk to have with a coffee. The surrounds were untidy and dirty.

Not a bad resort. Breakfast is good, location is good. Was a bit noisy with street sounds and some partying but removed enough from Patong that it was quiet in comparison. The room could have used a dusting and deep clean. The outlet by the bed was just a hole in the wall where the plug should have been and had years of dirt built up. The bathtub had a lot of mystery stains that could have been removed with a good cleaning. Slightly run down and needing a fresh coat of paint on the outside. Spa services are good but a bit more pricey than some amazing massage places within a block radius. The road outside is very chaotic and difficult to cross, so felt like a game of chicken. The beach directly out front is a bit dirty and not the greatest place for swimming. If you want a beach vacation, not the most practical location. A few of the beaches in the area are a bit rocky/ lots of coral to step on and not ideal for swimming.

Was a nice place to stay. Good shuttle service but as there are no specific shuttle times, it would be good if you could follow their location on an app so you’re not standing around waiting for an hr for them to turn up. Room - was upkept well by housekeeping but room smelt very musty and is quite old Restaurant- is fantastic and food is well priced with a very extensive menu for all. Breakfast buffet was great too Negative was the extremely unacceptable false advertising in their pictures. This is NOT on the beach and on a really busy road with ocean across the road

Great service

Great place to stay… huge king size bed!!!!

This a nice property with a beautiful pool and excellent breakfast buffet. The staff is friendly and helpful, and there is a nearby convenience store among other small businesses. At night, a long row of street food carts sets up across from the hotel with many options. It is a quiet area out of the busy part of Patong. The one drawback of the hotel is that it is not directly on Patong beach and is about a 10 to15 minute walk to the beach. The hotel also has a regular shuttle to take you to the beach or there are taxis in front of the hotel.

A really nice place to stay but be sure to get an ocean view room.

The view to sea

I had a beautiful, relaxing time here. It was clean, safe and staff friendly. Nice quiet end of Patong but a free shuttle (or cheap grab or a walk) into town which isn’t too far. Room service was good and super quick!

Nice breakfast, great pool. Some areas are a bit run down.

The room was nice and clean. The bathroom was too dark and we had a problem having no hot water which got sorted quite quickly. Location is good. Tuk tuk service was good too. The pool was awesome. Restaurant food was very nice too. We would recommend this resort.

Resort was well located with easy access to Patong and tourist sites. Check in was very poor but later reception staff were helpful. Toilet leaked when flushed, shower temperature was too hot then cold and not consistent. Power shut off at least 4 times during our stay (1week) and TV reception was not consistent with HBO channel often not available. Air conditioner overflowed spilling water all over the floor - but was rapidly repaired once reported. Suggest a regular timetable for shuttle bus which is advertised to guests rather than sitting and waiting until the next one came along. Also a folder in the room with instructions for how to use TV, lights, telephone and information about the resort and facilities.

The bed linen and pillows were the only standout. The pools were good and well maintained. The whole place needs money spent on it. Am sure it was excellent accomodation a long time ago. We found it sadly neglected and in need of renovations here and there. Covid possibly has contributed to this.

Check-in was quick. I got the room right away instead of having to wait till noon. Reception staff was helpful. The beaches were at a walking distance, which was wonderful.

The public indoor areas were filthy/unhygienic the filth in the kitchen area stopped me from eating pre paid breakfast.Our balcony railings were covered in reptile faeces.We had holidays there 13 years ago and loved it. To toyota off no reliable Wifi.

An OK stay.

The location is fantastic. The customer service was decent as well. However, the pool bar & swim-up bar were not open while we were visiting. That's a bummer. There was not enough staff for dinners at the restaurant, we were told no for many of the food items on the menu. Also, our rooms just didn't seem that clean. The bathroom was not either. The grout could use serious cleaning or re-grouting. I think it could be a great place with some updating.

They said we didn’t have a booking when we arrived and made me pay for the first night and then it took a week to get a refund and had a second booking and they also said we didn’t have a booking when our friends arrived. This was common with other guest arriving at that resort

The place is beautiful to stay. the pool is like an oasis and so clen to swim inn. The staff could not be more friendly and there isa shuttle bus into Patong town as you need it or if you don't mind a walk, you can walk it as we did. In the front there is a food market in the evening. Will be back again, loved it <3

the bathroom was old

Nice friendly and helpful staff, nice pool with waterfall(s), property kept clean and tidy, nice restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating, small bar in front, nice sea views, and perfect for watching sunsets, and a fabulous all you can eat breakfast buffet.

Beautiful large room, bath had tub and shower and beautiful view of beach. Restaurant has great food and service. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I will be back next trip here. I would highly recommend it

The staff were so friendly and helpfull. The rooms nice and clean lovely pool. And very nice food.

Pretty good pool, couldn't get cocktails from the swim up bar, only beer. Though you could get them from the other bar and take them to the pool so no problems. Staff were friendly. View was good from balcony though cars are quite noisy. Fairly good location though bangala not in walking distance, easy to get taxi.

Good hotel, not that good staff

Good hotel. Swimming pool quite big and wasn't too busy. Breakfast is alright but pretty much the same every day. Room is big and bed very comfy. It is advertised they have a beauty salon where they do manicures, pedicures, etc but when I went to ask, they told me they only do hair treatments (why do you advertise it then?) when asked in reception where to find a beauty salon, they were very rude and they only said ''in patong''. Not helpful at all.

Great location. Lovely room. Good enjoyable food. Evening entertainment was good. Lovely pool area. Friendly helpful staff.

Everything is good but did not like the TV programming last Time I was there in 2018 they had sport channel movie channels this time they had no sports and one movie channel in English and that also didn’t work most of the time. Very disappointed

The hotel it's very close to a lot of local amenities like the market and some restaurants, the pool it's nice and they offered a good selection of food for breakfast. However, my husband and I didn't like that the pictures online are way beutiful and over edited from what actually the rooms looks like. Also the towels, sheets and other details are not nice and very old. The telephone to reach the front desk was broken occasionally and besides that we didn't have water to shower or use the bathroom, for part of the day of one of our days being there.

Luckily I didn’t have to stay at this hotel. When we arrived we were moved to the Ocean Front and it was outstanding, even though it was still under construction. I would highly recommend the Ocean Front.

The lady who cleaned our room was very good and all staff were very friendly and helpful overalls good. Near Patong beach but far from busy area, with shuttle bus easy transport. Just snooker room was closed when we wanted to use it.

I really like the work ethics of all the staff they were alert and on top of all our needs.

The staff was always happy and willing to help us in any way. The buffet breakfast was with different types of food, well cooked and tasted very good. The place was clean and the pool was beautiful. The shuttle bus was a good transport going to and back from Patong beach. Great service.

The pool was excellent and clean!!! Bedroom was large and bed comfy with good aircon. Restaurant menu is good, has options to cater for various tastes and reasonably priced. Our hand towels - they were taken away after the first couple of days and not replaced. We were at the hotel for 1 week.

Pleasent stay. Basic hotel. Close to amenities and free shuttle bus to central Patong. However, you have to pay to use the iron. Advertised as 'on the beach' - which is decieving as it is across the road from the beach

There is no WiFi in the upper levels. We are organising more to our holiday and it makes it impossible to do. They just keep coming to our room and do nothing

First Visit to Thialand

I was specify and book a room at a hotel ON THE BEACH. The ad stated in many places that the hotel was on the beach and that beach chairs were available upon request. This hotel is not on the beach it is on the highway with a public beach the other side of the highway. There are no beach chair available. The pictures are a fraud. When I pointed this out they did upgrade me to a suite but there is a vast difference between on the beach and near the beach for your vacation. They claim to be 4 star. NO WAY. Only 10% of the staff can speak English. The property has 25 year old floors that need replacement. When we arrived at our room they had not changed the sheets form the last occupant and had not removed the trash. The food was overpriced and service very slow. The only good points is the free shuttle to and from town hourly and the pool. The free breakfast opened at 6am to 10am but if you had an early activity the 6am opening was many toast as they were not ready until 630am. The Internet was poor at best crashing after 30 minutes of use. If you need change to smaller currency they will not help you at the front desk. At a 4 star hotel the front desk should be able to communicate not just the manager.

This property is close enough to walk to town but also far enough out of town so you dont hear any of the late night noise

Great pool and breakfast. Clean rooms. Could upgrade some of the interior decor, but overall very happy.

First night we stayed we got a room right by the roadside, rooms smelled musty and were not pleasant. We asked to move which they did the next day. The bathrooms are very old and dated and desperately need upgrading. Most of the staff we encountered were quite unfriendly. The pool area is nice, and the resort is close to Patong beach, but I personally would not recommend this resort to friends

Great pool and main restaurant was great (friendly waitor and food was great!). It’s an old building so the room was a bit worn so while it wasn’t dirty, the bathroom wasn’t 5 star clean. Sheets and bedroom was. I would’ve given it a 5 stars if Staff were a bit friendlier (man helping with trips and bartenders). The behind-the-scenes staff (room cleaner, woman making the omelette for the breakfast buffet, woman who checked us in, etc, were great!)

Our stay was very good with a lovely accommodation and very good friendly and helpful staff.

I do not recommend this property to anyone. This hotel is not a resort and is extremely rundown. The hotel is nothing like the pictures on the website. There was no hot water and the cold water was brown. There was a dead bug on the ceilingZ the hotel staff were extremely rude and would not refund us. We chose to leave anyway. The hotel does not have any security and another guest told us there were rats in the front of the hotel where the bar is. They have a pool cat that hangs around the pool. Please do not book this property. You will be disspaointed. We left and stayed at the Hyatt Regancy But there are other affordable hotels nearby that are not run down.

what we liked about the property was the location - perfect for us who didn't want to be right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Patong beach, but close enough (about a mile) to walk to restaurants, etc. Right in front of the beach, with a great view from the restaurant/breakfast area. Breakfast selection was fair, and the the pool area was nice and inviting. Unfortunately what really disappoints about the Sunset is the lack of cleanliness, maintenance, and upkeep. Everything, from the reception furniture, to the elevators, to the rooms need to be spruced up, but most importantly they need to CLEAN better - the bathroom showers were grimy, and we could tell that they did not sweep or mop the room during our week stay. Every area, specially the breakfast area, and the rooms, hallways, and elevators need to be maintained and cleaned! The staff could also be better trained on how to be a bit more attentive - look up when people arrive or come by, say hello, etc. We would have changed hotels, but decided against it - did not want to go through the trouble. However, I would not stay at Sunset again (or recommend it) unless they had a change or upgrade in management - and Commitment to consistent cleanliness.

Great place to stay to relax and recharge. Friendly staff, 20mins walk from Patong Beach and Bangla Road, great room, and fantastic food and cocktails!

Clean. Good breakfast, good beds, good linen, good towels. Room on beachside noisey due to street traffic. Room a little outdated, but o.k.

Beach view rooms are extremely noisey due to the proximity to the main road. However they do have a nice view of the beach.

Unfortunately, my stay here was terrible!!! The second night I woke up to this gas/chemical smell coming from the air conditioning which made me violently throw up. There was someone at the front desk who came down and smelled the room and then sprayed (what I am assuming was some sort of disinfectant spray) in the room. The electricity in the room was snapping off and on all night which eventually caused me to have what I am assuming was a panic attack. We had to open the slider and door to our room to get some sort of a cross breeze to attempt to get the fumes out. I was on the phone with Expedia once the sun came up and they were attempting to get a hold of the front desk, and after many attempts were not successful. Expedia asked me to take my phone and walk to the front desk so they could speak with someone there. Expedia was able to get us our refund for the remaining nights at this hotel, and we ended up booking a room at the Holiday Inn. After all of this that went on it completely ruined this incredible vacation that I had booked since February, and had been planning even longer. Never in my life have I ever felt so scared and panicked. I left the country a week early and not sure if I will ever return. If I do, I will not be staying here.

Pictures make it seem like it’s a beachfront resort, but you need to walk at least 15 minutes to get to a beach to swim in. Staff were not very friendly. Our room did not have air condition when we arrived, we had to call them twice to fix it. The water shut off in the resort with no warning or expalanation, this was not fixed for hours. The spa was closed during hours of operation. Ammeneties were old and non-existent for the most part. The resort restaurants had poor service and long wait times, food was also not very good. When asked for help with booking tours the staff handed us brochures and asked us to figure it out. Overall the resort was old and outdated, with limited staff members to assist when needed. Would not recommend this place, the pictures are very deceiving!

Hotel staff and facilities where brilliant the only thing is the rooms are starting to get a little run down but it appears there renovating at the moment. All on highly recommended
