Doors did not lock and people from adjoining room opened door to bed room while u was there and undressed.
Employees were very nice and personable and professional.
I didn't like the bed
Nice place
Desk lady at check in was very friendly but our room was terrible. Hole in bathroom door (fist punch?). Shower non-functioning. Only 1 plastic glass. No coffee/tea water available. Burn marks on counter and tub. Grime along woodwork and in corners. Bathroom mirror gone leaving just tape. Roller shade on window, no curtain. And on and on.
There was mold in the bathroom sink, (black & Red) The bed was awful have a lot of springs loosen which made a hole. Out backs hurts from this. We are no coming back to this hotel. Plus it super nosy from the streets and sorunder rooms.
The breakfast was pretty lame, there was a guy nodding out most likely from heroin in the "breakfast room" The room was clean, the staff was polite, I would stay there again...the texts and emails from the hotel were annoying
Good option on a budget
First room smelled of mildew. Staff quickly changed rooms without hassle. Second room was much better but beds are very old and you can feel evey spring. Water temp and pressure is great, cable options were great, ease of accessibility to freeway was great but, traffic noise was loud had to run ac fan all night to help drown out sound.
Uncomfortable bed, hole punched in bathroom door, very cheap room, you get what you paid for though. My choices were limited because of the snow
The room was very dirty, the bathroom was filth. The TV did not work, there was no closet/hangers/iron/board/coffee machine. Not even a cup to rinse your mouth. Strangers were knocking at my door late at night waking me up when all wanted to do was rest. I will never stay there again and warn anyone else BEWARE!
Probably won't stay again
Lots of traffic noise. Pillows very hard not comfortable. Bed quite firm but comfortable for me. Room was dark. Door lock broken and door works stick. No "night lock". Breakfast typical of motels. Parking good. When Sunnyside Inn was new it was the best hotel in the area but that was decades ago. We needed a place to stay 1 night. It was ok but probably won't stay there again. Coffee was good. Staff friendly.
Don't Go
Horrible hotel. I did not even end up staying the night. I drove 45 min. away to stay with a friend. Tweakers at the front desk, parking lot and through out hotel. I did not feel me or my car were safe. Mattress sheets were stained.
The cleanliness was satisfactory, and it was pretty quiet and i had to the “Do Not Disturb” magnet on the door throughout my entire stay there and was shockingly not bothered by any staff or housekeeping until the day of checking out; which was nice and shocking like ive already mentioned that to be for me. Lol. However i did have two instances with two of the female employees (they were on the heavier side for body weight, definitely not doing any self care or showing any intrest for wanting to be or get healthier & they were also caucasian descent….) anyways….continuing on… they were both very apathetic and lacked the ability to be understanding of situations
Excellent location, super convenient. Door was a little difficult to unlock and lock, but we figured it out. Room was clean and comfortable.
Motel 6 would have been a better choice
Denied room access still charged
The inside noise is minimal and we choose this because its near my KP. The surges of wind are road noise are the noisy part and impossible to avoid this near the Freeway.
When I check in on my first day. The main door won’t lock but they resolve it but wanting me to go back to the room but I already brought all my stuff in the room. So I told to the receptionist I don’t want to go back and she let me stayed on the second room. But a lot of hastles at first .
It was a great stay would stay again. Just wish the bed was more comfortable tossed and turned a lot and my hip started to hurt.
No hot water for shower
Personnel are awesome, anything else is not up to expectations
It was conveniently located in Clackamas near other businesses and it was a great low price. However, the floor was dirty and needed to be swept and mopped. The mattresses were old and noisy. There was a lot of visible wear on the doors and furniture.
Do not book with this hotel!! It’s outdated, dirty and your room smells like a public restroom. The springs on the bed are literally poking out of the bed. It looks like a hotel meant for druggies and homeless. One of the towels was still dirty, it had stains and pubic hair on it. The sheets had dried blood. Never again
Very Disappointed
Unfortunately, this is one of the worst hotel experiences we have had! We arrived late in the evening (8 PM). When we entered our room the TV was on, AC was running, overhead lights were on, and the window was wide open with no screen (a huge safety issue!). Immediately we could tell that the room had been smoked in. After a couple hours my wife and I both got headaches from the smell. The only bed side light would not turn on, found it unplugged behind a cabinet. The room furniture was in very poor shape, scratched and generally in disrepair. The only window covering was a plastic pull down shade that was not adequate. Of the 6 lights over the sink, only 2 turned on. We had no cups in our room and only a very small roll of toilet paper. Because of the window being open the room had a large number of flying bugs in it. We had a long day of travel and were only staying one night, so by the time we found all of this we were too tired to try and get anything fixed, instead dealt with it and left early the next morning. We feel that the room was partially cleaned, but not completed. At this point we could not recommend this property to anyone. Having spent the prior 2 nights in similar priced hotels that were far superior to this facility, we feel we did not get the value that we paid for.
Busy area, but once in our room we were very comfortable Nice clean room, friendly staff, Will stay again if circumstances allow
Property needed some work to make a good property
Great Staff!
Staff was amazingly helpful! Helpful with our aids and had a smile
My feet were black less than 5 minutes after a shower due to the dirty floors in my room. The tv never worked, despite my letting them know and them saying they would fix it. Thecwalls are very thin and I was able to hear each time someone used the bathroom, walked across a floor, or walked by the room outside, which gets to be a lot with 3 floors of people. There was breakfast of cereal or bagels. There were hard boiled eggs, but they tasted very off. There was only coffee in the lobby by the front desk.
It was a nice stay
Low budget
Friendly staff. But, was supposed to be non-smoking and room reeked with stale cigarette smell. Breakfast was very scant,. Overall did not match the pictures or description.
The staff was nice but this place is poorly maintained. The bed was completely sunken in in the middle and it smelled mildewy and weird in the room. The exterior just looked poorly maintained and the internet service was slow and spotty.
Hotel room shared a flimsy door to next room. Extremely thin walls with very loud people up late and awake EARLY!!! Could not sleep.. the room smells terrible, no coffee machine. No chairs….
Great
Great dtaff
The floor in our room turned our white socks black. We had a late 1pm checkout as healthcare wokers working 16 hour shifts and housekeeping knocked waking us up at 11am, communication was not there.
Smoke detector hanging with a wire, bed soft and worn, needs paint SOS, bathroom counter top had old cigarette burns, no extra blankets, Staff were extremely nice and helpful - must stay to see the worse of the worst! Best Shower ever! Strong enough for a tooth water pic!
Big advantage: next door to the hospital. But, on arrival I got the feeling of a dirty place but it was not. The room itself was clean. The bathroom was ‘too tight’ (ie: the toilet seat would not stay up and the rim passed just barely upon opening the door)
Being independently owned, they had a weird policy requiring copies of drivers licenses for all guests over 18. Room was clean, but musty. Would not recommend staying alone. Will look at other options for our next trip to Portland.
9/18/24 PDX
It was just fine for my overnight visit to PDX.
Staff was basically non existent. Always just in the smoking area. No one gave us extra linens we asked for, no one tidied the room, breakfast was always empty. Pool was very grimy and clearly has not been cleaned in a while, doesn’t even have a cover. Holes everywhere, damaged room inside and out. Half the lot taken by large machine trucks.
Nice
Noisy spot with dingy appearance. Room had an entry hall light that could NOT be shut off. Had to stand on tiptoe and unscrew the light fixture and bulb to make the room dark. Other bright green lights emanating from power strips also made it difficult to sleep. Toilet not anchored securely to floor and shifted around when sitting down on it. Breakfast was all sugar and refined carbs except for rubbery eggs in a plastic bag. Other than that, not bad.
Staff is nice and the area is clean.
For the price, well you get what you pay for. Secondary locking mechanism would have been appreciated. Toilet seat wrong shape for the bowl.
Good service
The pictures look like this is a pretty decent room. When I walked into the room, it looked like somewhere younwould rent by the hour. I have been in Motel 6s that were better than this. Went on Hotels.com, found a better place, went down to reception and told them I was not staying that room was not satisfactory. Manager was not there over the weekend. I returned room keys I got a place slightly more expensive but quality was so much better. Contacted Hotels.com to have any charges for this taken off my bill.
The room was supposed to be an executive suite. The bed kept rolling away from the wall and when I called to request a different room I was told it wasn’t possible. We were not given any wash cloths and when we requested them we were told to come to the office and get them rather than housekeeping bringing them to us. The room was poorly lit. The unit above ours was very noisy. The lament flooring was filthy.
It was dirty and the night desk clerk ignored you when you were at the counter.
The wall in our room had drywall missing. The bed was like a brick
Room furnishings were very minimal, no art on walls, etc. The window was so clouded up that you couldn't see out of it. Overall the place was sort of a dump.
Room was dirty
Room was dirty. No blankets and dirty
The staff are nice. Bugs galore (spiders, ants, gnats, weird ones) but that's probably because it's summer and I'm on the bottom floor. Old furniture, old building, basic rooms. My bed in one room was comfy, moved to another, not so much. The breakfast is cereal, bagels, oatmeal packets, yogurt. I'm here for a few months, travel nurse at the hospital across the street. Speaking of, half the people live here so there are no discounted rates for staying months on end. They do have a weekly rate that is decent, even in summer months. The usual residents look sketch but are nice. No one will bother you or your stuff. It's close to the mall and another shopping center. Close to the freeway so getting around is a breeze. It's a budget friendly place so have budget friendly expectations. You'll have a clean, quiet, and safe place to sleep. I'd stay again if in the area
Soak and relax!
I always love going there. They are affordable and their rooms with the jetted tubs are my favorite as they are bigger enough for two or to enjoy alone and to stretch out in. Always a relaxing peaceful stay.
There was a long black hair in the tub....the floors were dirty. My 6yr old granddaughter took her shoes off and within five min they were black....my window had something all over it which I got one part clean so I could see out of it...I asked a staff member for some Windex they offered to clean it in the end no one did...the top of a unit had a dirt film over it ..under bed u could tell hadn't been touched in months...I only looked because my granddaughter lost her front tooth and I dropped it...no coffee pot ....no trash can ...best part was the pool although It wasn't crystal clear kinda cloudy ...and the ac worked exceptionally well..
Our stay was very convenient, because we were having a procedure done at Kaiser Permanente across the street. It was safe and it was quiet.
There were many shady people, drinking and smoking in front of our room by the railing . They didnt seem like guests of the hotel. They originally didnt have our room available at check in and then we were put in a very beat up room. Lots of patched holes in the doors of the bathroom, from being kicked and punched . The "security" chain had been broken multiple times from being busted. Everything seemed very beat up and used. The beds and pillows were very hard. The bathroom was fairly clean and the sheets were clean. But overall it was not a good stay.
Purple flames and jetted tubs
I love staying here at the Sunnyside Inn & Suites anytime i just need to escape and relax a bit. The suites with the big jetted tubs are my favorite! The tub is amazing. The water does allow for it to be anywhere from very hot to cold depending on where you like your temperature. The powerful jets along with the large size allow you to lay in it and completely relax and feel the aches melt away or share with someone as it is big enough for two. I also love the electric fireplace feature. It allows you to changes the colors on the lights for the rocks and flames to make it an individual experience. I love the rocks to be the teal blue and the flames purple. When i stare at it the bottom glows the blue with what looks like orange embers and orange glowing logs while the background shows a mesmerizing display of purple flames that can have me captivated and daydreaming for hours. Hahaha...it is such a beautiful amd charming feature. This room is also not cramped as it has room to move around. I definitely recommend it!
Great price. Great staff! They're doing some renovations but it didn't hinder my experience.
Got called a beaner by one of the employees don’t think she thought I heard. Place says smoke free rooms but still smelled like cigarettes in the room badly
Front staff was not friendly. Rooms are outdated and not the cleanest.
Fine
They couldn't help me get a room on a floor I could accessI use a walker to move around Pool seemed old and unsafe Breakfast was ok no more
We really enjoyed our stay. We were there for 7 nights and we kept the DND sign on the door, but whenever we needed anything, they were very nice and super helpful. Room was great, they are renovating some things so it was loud during the day on occasion, but super quiet and safe feeling at night. We’ll stay here again if/when we come back to Oregon.
Dark red spatters on the walls, broken pictures half hanging on the walls and dirty. The bed was horrible, lumpy and worn down. 5-6 people hanging out on the property around rundown cars with expired plates that looked like peoples makeshift homes in parking lot giving a sense of insecurity. All the staff were very nice. Towels/sheets were all clean.
Management went above and beyond to allow me to utilize a non-refundable reservation I had made through a booking app after not being able to check in due to a problem with my bank card. The could have easily turned me away. Much appreciated!!
Property is old and dated, but for best price was adequate for our needs
Pool
Rooms and motel very outdated, but seemed clean. Bed was old and uncomfortable. Right along the interstate so traffic is loud. There is great shopping and plenty of places to eat within a few minutes drive. Overall it worked fine for the very short night we had before a flight.
Holes in wall and the shower was unstable and it was not clean only reason I stayed was my sick kid
The property was good, they not have the iron we was need it for iron our close, they don’t provide Enough Shampoo And Conditioned, The Place Is Not Safe.any body they can transposing and come to knock the door.

So overrated. So disappointed,
The concrete walkways to the rooms were scattered with trash and cigarette butts and very old dead vegetation. The first room we were assigned had only 1 hand towel. The shower knob (Moen brand) was broken. I went to the office to report it. They had to wait for a repair person to show up, so they agreed to repair it while I was gone that afternoon. The problem was that it could be turned in only 1 direction. The water coming from the shower faucet and shower head was dangerously hot, The shower knob would not move in the cold water direction. Consequently, I could not stand under the shower head and get a real shower, just a stream of scalding hot water. There was no middle, safe, usable temperature. After the "repair", the faucet could be turned with great difficulty to the cold temp, but still no comfortable temp available: either scalding hot or cold. I said I wanted to be moved to another room. The only room available was an "executive" room, but they would give it to me at the same price. The "executive" was smaller. Bed was double instead of King size in "standard" room. Executive room did not have a trash can. Front desk said they didn't have enough trash cans, that I could put my trash in the big cans outside, then gave me 3 plastic bags to put my trash in. A trash can appeared later that day. "Executive" room had only one hand towel also, as office said that is all they supply. Provided more towels upon request.
Be leery of this one!
The girl at the front desk was pleasant. The outside of the building was not too bad upon initial arrival. Later that evening, there were a lot of people who were standing around smoking, even though signs posted no smoking on the property. My room was dark, dingy and very depressing. Patched holes in the walls. There were dead nats in the bottom of the bathtub. The bed was very uncomfortable with an old coil spring mattress and it smelled bad. I was on the 3 floor and had to climb the stairs to my room. The noise from the road was terrible as the window was an old single pane. I definitely did not feel safe at this property and left early the next morning.
Quite average, a bit noisy from nearby freeway traffic.
No elevator. They charge $75 more when you check in after paying online. They were supposed to refund it, but its been over 24 hours and still no refund. No phone in room to call desk for anything. Had a shower, but no way to turn the shower on. Pillows are just little flat nothings and there was spider webs all over the ceiling. The rooms look NOTHING like the photos. Stay somewhere else no matter how convenient you think it is next to hospital. It's not a good place to stay.
Yes
Pool, easy style, all nice. Noisy by freeway but not in rooms Room a bit dark. Nice folks, good location to all you need.
Minimal. Looks unfinished.
The pictures on Expedia of this hotel are not what we experienced. They were not nice, new looking rooms. The tub in one room felt like you would fall through. There was a toilet and other items sitting on the grass area. The lobby was very run down as well as the rest of the property. We were very disappointed, not at all what we expected.
The property is in desperate need of updating. Our room had no warm blankets or comforters on the bed, had only a half a roll of toilet paper, the bathroom lights were so dim you could barely see, the carpets were extremely stained, there was only one lamp in the entire room, The beds are clearly very old with no spring left in the mattress. It was noisy, but that was to be expected based on the location.
Never again
Noisy, old, some one else’s sock left under the bed, cleaning forgot to clean our room. Homeless people walking around surveying the parking lot.
great location
Less Than Desirable
The room was clean, but modge podge together. There was no lamps, chairs, just a TV on the wall with a fridge underneath and microwave on top of mini fridge. With bare wires strewn all over. No screen in the window with dirty window seals. The beds were extra squeaky every time you turned over they would squeak and terribly uncomfortable. Furniture didn’t match. Light switches didn’t turn on bathroom light by the entry, you had to switch it on by the sink. Breakfast was disorganized, and modge podged. Would not stay again.
The TV in the room didn’t work was the only inconvenience, room was nice and clean. Property was clean. The fire place was a nice touch and it did work. Good water pressure in the shower.
This location is perfect for my stay while attending events and family visiting in Happy Valley areas. Easy access to local streets, Freeway, dining venue and hospital.
We were disappointed that there was no coffee maker in our room. The room we were in was not convenient to use use the ice machine and free coffee.
Room was very clean, sheets very white. The pool area very clean as was the lobby. The beds were ok, could have been more comfortable. Our TV did not work and there wasn’t a maintenance person around to help us and no phone in the room to call the desk so I had to walk down. The very nice desk person did try to help us. She was also very pleasant when we checked in. I would stay there again. Fair price too.
Friendly staff and went over times for breakfast and dinner
Fireplace did not work. No door to shower. No bedspread. Unpainted pipe leading to the TV.
Personnel are very nice
Staff was very helpful and kind.
Very friendly staff.
employees are sweet!
My husband was in ICU, and I wanted an inexpensive place. I was told there would be a continetal breakfast, but they said they had coffee 24-7. I decided just to check out and didn't try it. There was no garbage can but I had a paper bag. The TV would turn on, but there was no fire stick for their programs on the screen. I just used my phone. When I arrived, I checked the door between the rooms, and mine was completely unlocked, so you need to check that first thing. It is an older facility and the outside is not so clean and it is a bit dark. I felt pretty safe, but I was a COP for 20 years and know how to be aware of my surroundings more than some. I slept very well, as I was beat. It had a fridge and microwave.
A very long night.
I was in Room # 341, the security door latch on the inside of the door is missing and there was no "privacy" sign to hang on the door knob, there were no glasses to drink from, the bathroom door had obvious patches and had just been repainted, the back bottom edge was water swollen and coming apart, the door should have been replaced. The curtain for the window was about a foot too narrow to completely cover the window so I had to deal with car lights hitting the wall all night. There was only a half of a roll of toilet paper in the bathroom and no spares. Toilet makes a loud high pitched sound when flushed. Someone was yelling and slamming their door several times early in the morning. My room was right next to the highway and the traffic was very loud. The WiFi is not secure anyone can pull into the parking lot and use it. The office staff were very nice and friendly and knew how to do their jobs.
Light above the toilet burnt out. Bathtub fills up with 3 inches of water while you try to take a shower. Very disgusting. Peeling paint on the windowsills. Pool was not functioning, even though it’s advertised as being open.
Easy to find
Don’t stay
Tu was on a business trip, needed place to stay overnight, in the middle of night horrible smell of weed, room old , no quilt only light blanket.
I had reserved a single king for 3 days. First night there I found out I could only sleep on one side of the bed. Other half of mattress was crushed. Bathroom door was hanging off its hinge & outside window wouldn't close all the way. Next morning, after I had returned from the hospital across the street(my brother had heart surgery), I told desk clerk about the room's issues and that I wanted to checkout. She didn't say she was sorry or offer a discount, NOTHING except that I should've told her earlier and then she charged me for another day. Evidently 10 a.m. is too late to cancel a room there. I went down the road to CLARION INN & SUITES and for $21 more a night I had a beautiful room w/2 queen beds, even a coffee maker plus they had a great continental breakfast.
