I liked the location and the staff were very obliging. The unit was clean and comfortable but the whole property needed an uplift. The fountain in the front was surrounded by a weedy garden and it is supposed to be the frontispiece of the property. The unit needed a refit to make it more up to date.

Very old, shabby and run down. There were ants eggs in shower, cockroaches, and snail in room. Wallpaper peeling, shower had poor pressure. Very poorly maintained.

Overall fine for what we needed. Clean but the pillows were a bit useless. Value for money but the place would beneifit from a bit of a tidy up.

Where do i start! Leaking toilet cistern held together with brown packing tape, towels threadbare and even holes in them, dirty stained dining chairs, net curtains on ranch slider door about 24 inches too long and a real tripping hazzard, iron cord damaged with bare wires showing, electric cooker cracked, bedroom side tables in poor condition.

Excellent service. Everything we needed for an overnight stay.

Very nice. Hosts were super duper friendly and very convenient for the concert. Transport for concert was organised by a private company, can highly recommend.

Could be better

Place is a little run down and needs a lot of renovation. However unit was clean and had all the utensils you need. It is situated on a main road so if you have a unit at the front, street noise at night can be a problem. Manager was friendly and check in quick.

It was a cheap stay so even though the condition of the place was a bit run down I was clean and had everything we needed. The service came without a smile. That was disappointing.

I have stayed here before so it makes life easier to use somewhere you have been before. They are very easy to find and handily situated to McLean Park if you are heading to Napier for the cricket. Sky TV and a swimming pool complete the package. AC also appreciated.

Spanish Lady Motel

When I arrived the kitchen floor was flooded, had to mop up with towel.

They had a swimming pool but hours were restricted from 0900-1700Hrs (5pm), and it was a warm day, but it is considered winter, so closed early.

The area was great but the unit we had needed work done on it. Curtains off the hooks, Cupboard door off one hinge, Water supply was very slow as though we were on a rural property with no pressure system, window did not lock in main bedroom, no plug in bathroom basin even though we asked. Beds were very comfortable and unit suited us very well but !!!!

For the price the motel was awesome. Very clean and the guy at the front desk was nice and had the heatpump going for us on arrival.

Close to town and in a handy location for travelling to and from when visiting family

Stay here abit good value

Place is basic but good value aircon nice comfortable bed sky tv. Bathroom door was hard to open and close besides that no issues

The room is like many in NZ. We had a room with 5 beds. We only needed the Queen and 1 single. But it was fine. Every day the manager came by with clean towels and anything else we may need. He was extremely polite. The kitchen was great. We used the oven, the toaster, the fridge and the microwave. Having dishes and serving utensils was great! The TV was awesome. Always something to watch. Even though it was cold, the outdoor pool was open. We chose not to swim (freezing). But we did do laundry and were able to hang the clothes out to dry on the line. There were pegs and everything! Would go back again!!!!!

Everything we needed was there. Loved the heat pump and clean towels put in the room each day. The staff were nice and we felt comfortable and welcome. I think the place could have been more thoroughly cleaned between guests. Namely around the edges and corners of the Lino in the toilet and dust shelving. Not a huge thing but noticeable and easily addressed.

Overall we had a pleasant stay, just a bit noisy so close to abusy road.

Easter Break - Family Trip

Check in was smooth and the motel was able to find a baby cot for our youngest. Lindt Easter Eggs were there on arrival and replenished each day (a nice surprise for the kids). Room was dated but met our needs. Daily cleaning was good but the occasional cockroach sighting was a little disappointing.

Good stay

Good clean large room, a bit noisy from road traffic in daytime as on main road but ok at night. A ten minute drive to the centre but local shops a three minute walk away. You can order breakfast to be delivered to your room if you want. Freindly and helpful owners

Very most basic motel, rooms decor and general feel was very outdated and could be improved. All the notes around the room of how to use things or to be safe of was a little over the top and could be done much easier in a folder.

Napier Symposium visit

Room was adequate, motel is tired, needs upgrade & refreshening up. Our room was close to the main road & very noisy, had to wear ear plugs to sleep. Plenty of hot water but no hot water pressure at shower shower probably 50 years old. Bed was ok but it really needs upgrading. Key to a good motel is cleanliness a great bed giving a great nights sleep and a shower better than at home.

Great place to stay with kids!!! The spa was great. Rooms had everything we needed and ideal when traveling with children.

Reception guy was helpful, the room was very dated & requires decorating. It was clean & beds comfortable.

We were very comfortable in our unit. Some major maintainance needed to trace water leakage from shower wall to insde of bedroom and onto carpet area at same wall area. Major water leakage around tap in shower and hot water tap at basin. Sliding doors into bathroom and toilet need attention as well. Water problems mentioned to motelier and was told owner lived in Wellington so waiting till they arrived to follow up. Curtains in bedroom showing signs of mould as well.

Right from early check in, you get a good feel about this motel. We called in early - midday - as we were on our way to a bowls tournament and didn't know whether we would get back before 7pm when check in finishes, and although our room was still being cleaned, was given our spare key and able to book in. We had a separate bedroom with TV, a separate kitchen with full stove, microwave and all you would require, a couple of biscuits, very comfortable double bed in bedroom and a single in the lounge/dining room area for a third person and a couple of comfy chairs for watching TV. Okay it is older but very impressed and would definitely stay here again.

Cosy and Comfy but...

Cosy and comfy but our room definitely needed some TLC. Can't say what the other rooms were like. But great location - surprisingly quiet - and reasonably priced.

Don't let fìrst impressions deceive

Pulling into the motel there was a bit of a "what have I done" moment, but that was simply a response to the dated exterior of the motel. On check-in, the staff were friendly and our room was completely adequate. Clean, comfortable, and good value for money. The only issue was a dodgy kitchen tap but aside from that, the room was fine for a one night stay. Would happily stay here again and recommend to others.

Older property that needs a bit of a makeover. Having said that beds were comfortable and unit was clean and had all you needed. Outside area needed weeding and outdoor furniture replacing but looked like it was work in progress. Didn't get a paper each day as requested.

Medium range motel in Napier

On arrival the male motel owner was abrupt and distracted but gave the necessary instructions to our room. I later phoned to ask about the local bus timetable as I required to use this the next day. He was not able to help with no knowledge or experience of travelling on public transport and gave no assistance as to where I might find this information other than to say that the bus stop was close by. The motel room was in a clean state but was obviously undergoing some repairs and refurbishment with patched unpainted holes in the bedroom wall and flaking ceiling paint in the bathroom area. The beds were very comfortable and the essential appliances and bathroom toiletries were supplied. There was an efficient heat/cool pump in the lounge area. The rooms were not serviced in any way during our two night stay. The rubbish was not emptied, nor was the bathroom cleaned and we made our own beds. On departure the female receptionist was very pleasant. Overall an average experience.

Old, comfortable but in need of renovation

This motel offered exactly what we wanted - A/C, pool and spa and if you looked past the need for units to be upgraded, were comfortable with a great bed and suited our needs. The wifi was a bit of a drag getting it set up but did do the job. The cost per night, would be considered 'budget'. This is a 1970's built motel and with a good level of owner/operator input could easily be made into a very trendy operation again.

It needs curtains on kitchen window. The tv needs tuning in properly. New pillows they have had it. Otherwise you would have a nice motel

Good family motel with swimming pool

Motel units need to be checked that everything that should be there is there and working. Had to ask for dishwashing liquid, can opener didn't work, no chopping board or salad bowl. Also need microwave dishes for cooking. Carpets need a good clean as 11 month old got extremely dirty crawling around . Door lock incredibly difficult to lock. Owner was aware and said he needed to get a locksmith. Great motel but just needs a little TLC

Budget accommodation but is well equipped and has everything needed. Decor a little tired but it's clean and adequate and its very quiet. Staff are very friendly and go above and beyond. I'd stay here again.

I feel like you need spend some money on your facilities * Things are dirty, old and run down * Room not clean at all * Look at getting some eateries to deliver to your motel as you are isolated One positive was the Sky TV available

Changed a lot since new owners

There was cockroaches and ants in more rooms than just mine, skirting boards were filthy, as were walls. Fly poo on ceiling and smoke alarm. Coach seat was very very uncomfortable, as spring in it had gone. New owner was nice, however standards have REALLY dropped since last time!!!! I left a couple of things behind and have had no communication whatsoever about it. Really really disappointing after such a lovely stay last year

I would not stay there again as we didn't get fresh milk for the second day and had to ask for tea to be topped up. Had book through trivgo and got we didn't as wasn't going to get double room. Then was question about my kids. Went to room and owner unlocked the bedroom door thought that was very odd.

More than I expected

Fantastic place to stay. Bigger than I thought, with a lounge area big tv in the lounge and bedroom. The kitchen had I needed, great to have a fridge, separate bathroom and toilet. Really appreciated having a car park in front of the unit. Nice and cosy. I returned back and the light and heat pump on for me. I lovely thoughtful touch.

For the cost of the room it was OK. We arrived late and were gone early in the morning so didn't see any staff. The lady I spoke to on the phone earlier in the day to arrange the late check in was pleasant however I had to call back to get the details regarding the access to room as the email/text I was promised with the details never arrived. The room itself was OK but dated the place could do with a bit of a spruce up.

Tired old motel

Beds uncomfortable / broken. Very old cooking appliance (more vintage than retro) sliding door to bathroom broken. Spa pool not available before 10 am despite room info stating 7am. Positive was that although old and tired, was very clean and also very kind accommodating room service staff around timing I'd room service

It was ok but the cockroach in the office and the nonchalant attitude of the staff towards it was not cool. Neither was the dead cockroach and empty cigarette packet in the kitchen cupboard - the staff didn't seem too concerned about that either.

Quick easy check-in, Helpfull, Comfortable nights sleep, Quiet location. Will stay here again.

Nice motel well equiped

Great hosts warm and friendly. Motel is on a very busy road. However traffic noise didn't disturb our sleep. Master bedroom had its own tv which my hubby loved and the king sized bed was pure luxury. Loved the air on too.

Within 10km of Church Road and Mission Wineries

On arrival at 3.00pm after a 4 hour drive from Wellington, we were not provided milk for beverages. We were informed they had run out but would give us some in the morning. This necessitated a trip to the nearest shop to obtain some ourselves when all we wanted to do was relax with a cup of tea prior to heading off to the concert we had come to see. Another worrying thing was the light switch for the bathroom, which is positioned adjacent to the shower, could be touched from within the shower box, as the shower door had been replaced with a curtain at some point. This is a safety hazard and isn't compliant with the NZ Wiring Rules.
