The property was beautiful overall. There was some remodeling at the nearest restaurant that required me to do a bit of walking from my resort area. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They had a special way of welcoming you back if you were a returning guest. Overall, 9/10.

A truly lovely resort, but it has a number of shortcomings. I had a villa with pool and it was spectacular! Truly lovely. Took 2 days to get used to the outdoor bathroom, but it's safe. Things to note: You cannot order an alcoholic beverage for in-villa dining (except beer), but you can order a bottle @ ~3x the cost. (e.g. gin $135-$160 a bottle; JD $175; grey goose $210!). Get duty-free before you get to the island, if you can. There is no beach service except at the bar pools. My villa was right on the beach with a private pool, but I had to go to one of the bars. Kinda defeated the purpose, for me. In-villa dining is kinda bad (improperly seared tuna; bitter lettuce; horrible scrimpy chicken sandwich), and if they are busy with breakfast, 5 or 6 calls will still not guarantee they answer. Please check departure time against number of nights charged. I had a departure at 1:45 am on Friday, thus was at the airport at 8 pm on Thursday (late night boats not available, and that's the only way to the island). Nonetheless, because my flight was after midnight, they charged me for 6 nights instead of 5. Not sure if that was their fault or Expedia. Either way, it sucked. Most of the staff are friendly and efficient, though smiles are hard to come by. (It may be a cultural thing.) Clovie at check-in was OK but not warm and welcoming. My housekeeper, Abdullah, was FABULOUS!! Kinda shy, but always pleasant and helpful.

We were there to celebrate our 5th anniversary and had a wonderful holiday. It was a very calm and quiet place for a getaway. We stayed in one of the Grand Water Villas with private pool. They decorated our room on our anniversary day, gave us a beautiful cake, a bottle of red wine and a bucket of fresh fruits and organised a lovely candle light dinner for us which was a nice gesture. Housekeeping was top notch. All the hospitality staff had a welcoming smile on their face. We enjoyed free Kayaking, watching marine lives and ofcourse the their mouthwatering multi cuisine buffet foods. Highly recommended for anyone whoever wants a memorable holiday!!

We had the best beach villa upstairs. Room 151. I think the only better villa was next door with a little pool. We got the breeze & it was a heaven, like the aircon. It was very hot, so we were thankful. Amazing, huge outdoor bathroom with privacy wall. Outdoor shower, & bath. Bed was very comfy. By far the best was our houseboy, Noor. He was brilliant, a master at towel art & decoration. He would come twice a day to clean & make or turndown the bed. The buggy service to reception or other islands was great. Runs every 10 minutes. Farnoza & CJ at reception were wonderful. Misa at the jewellery store was lovely and gave us exceptional prices. The girls and guys at the spa were excellent. The Thai & Indian restaurants were to die for. The resort is so well run, when you get bored, explore two more islands, unless you have kids, one island is adults only. They have different restaurants and pools. The water-sports are second to none. The main restaurant on our island was a fabulous all you can eat buffet. Did the 1/2 board cause we only eat twice a day and it was enough for us. Yogesh, Francis, Ravi and the chefs and waiters are great. The resort even have guys that clean the seaweed off the beach multiple times a day so its always pristine white. Nothing is too much trouble. The only improvement is if they had an ATM for USD. Reception can only give $100/day. Beware the giftshop. Hair care and sunscreen are expensive. I paid $68 a bottle for shampoo & conditioner.

My wife and I stayed at 3 different properties in the Maldives. Sun Siyam Olhuveli's grand water villa was definitely the most modern and the deck was the most spacious. It is an expansive property made up of 3 islands which may not be to everyone's liking. They have golf carts going from early in the morning to late at night so it is not a problem. We stayed on Dream Island. If we went back we would stay on the adult only True Blue Romance Island. You can still walk from Dream to True Blue in less than 10 minutes and use the adult only pool which we did daily. The staff is friendly. Big shout out to the waiter at the pool Pradeep. He made our stay at Olhuveli one to remember.

First I want to say the staff is very rude. We went for our honeymoon and it was almost ruined. Shuttles will not stop for you. Even when it’s pitch black at night they expect you to walk around the huge resort site. They are constantly saying no we do go to this area when it’s on the same resort. My husband wanted to jet ski and was given a hard time. We stayed in a over water villa and the beds were so hard. I would wake up literally in aching pains. Breakfast staff is great in sunset bar but other places where buffet will not restock the buffet and if you ask for something the answer is no. The speedboat ride was very scary. However, the property is clean. Can drinks are $6.00 in the room. Food is poor we could only eat breakfast and sometimes the pizza bar. The resort is beautiful we just made the best out of it. Also, we did enjoy our honeymoon dinner provided at island pizza.

The staff was very friendly, whether it was room service, restaurants or reception. Very friendly. I have to say that once we were in are room, it was very confusing on how to book activites or reservations for meals. The excursion that we took was for snorkeling and it was literally a 20 minute boat ride, 25 minutes of snorkeling and 20 min ride back. That was disappointing. All inclusive should include more that 25 minute snorkle excursion. Food wasn't what i thought it would. Should be more seafood.

Our host, CJ was absolutely phenomenal. He organized so many incredible things for us and was always such a pleasure to speak with. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting to visit the Maldives. I spend WEEKS researching the best property and I can assure you NOTHING beats this property. This is hands-down the *best* vacation experience I've ever had. Everything from check-in to departure went without a hitch. You don't have to worry about anything at this resort; upon arrival, the reps were at the airport to help with our speedboat transfer, so no being hassled by taxi drivers like at other destinations! There is a wait for other guests from other flights; fortunately we didn't have to wait too long. Check-in was a breeze, the staff were super welcoming, the Deluxe Water Villa was beautiful, and every meal at the buffet was delicious. Lots of Indian options which I was very happy about. We did the all-inclusive which was very well worth it. Drinks were great and service was immaculate. Honestly no need to pay for the ala carte restaurants since the buffet was more than adequate. Check-out experience was great also; we left out bags in the villa upon check-out for the staff to collect. Our flight was late in the evening and the speedboat to the airport was at 7pm, so were about to enjoy the resort for the remainder of the day (tip: there is a shower in the bathrooms at the Lagoon Bar, so we were able to clean up before our late flight). Special shoutout to Khaled at the Sunset Restaurant, who was so nice and made our visit very special. Told myself that Maldives would be a once-in-a-lifetime trip due to the cost, but we loved our stay so much so we will definitely be back to this resort!

We stayed in a Grand Water Villa on the Dream Island side of the property. The room and views are spectacular and modern. While the amenities on the older side of the island are great, the rooms did not look so good (at least from the outside). During our stay in the Maldives, we stated at Atmosphere Kanifushi, Oblu Helengeli and Olhuveli. While Kanifushi was the most upscale, we like Olhuveli the best because there were so many different great places between the 2 islands and the lagoon in between. Helengeli was a bit disappointing and needs some updates.

Great resort, hardworking team, average food

The resort staff tries hard and is constantly improving but there is still a ways to go in terms of service quality. I would give Hassan and his team an A for effort. The resort is spectacular from the perspective of facilities, proximity to a great reef and diving and activities. The food is average - and could definitely improve substantially. That said, we had a great time and would definitely go back.

Rude & Barbarous Sales Director, Olhuveli: Frances

After paying in full, we received a confirmation email with the following note: "TRANSFER POLICY: We offer speedboat transfer between Male International Airport and the resort. Our transfer are combined transfer along with other guests from scheduled flights on the day and please note that our transfers will not be available every hour, all depends on the guests flights movements. Regarding the transfer timing we will final arrival and departure movements one day prior to guest arrival/departure day. The below charges will be applicable as per your reservation. Return Speedboat Transfer Rate: USD 229 NET per adult, USD 115 NET per child." Given we will be meeting friends at Male town and will be staying at a different resort after Olhuveli, we proceeded to make our own transfer arrangements. Upon arrival on Day 1 we were rudely confronted by their Sales Director – Frances, who told us we are not allowed to make our own transfer arrangements. We explained 1. We are not going to Male so why pay to be transferred there. 2. Your policy states “offer” instead of “mandatory” to which she said “It is not my problem where you chose to go after Olhuveli but we will transfer you to Male and you will be charged for it”. I was later told by a staff that if we didn’t pay for the transfer, our room keys will not be issued. Overall a nice resort with the exception of Frances who was rude and barbarous. Our other encounters with Afeef, Olga and Ruswan was very pleasant.

Nice resort

This resort is very nice. The pools are great and the beaches ate wonderful. I especially enjoyed the beach on dream Island. I stayed in a beach bungalow. It was very nice inside and opened right onto the beach. The bed was a bit firm for my liking but the pillows were great. The AC worked really well and I was also very happy with the free WiFi. The bathroom did need some improvements. The shower was in the open with no enclosure around it. This lead to the entire floor being wet and the tiles becoming very slippery. The wood around the door was also rotting from all the water. I enjoyed the breakfast buffet and really liked the food from Island Pizza, but I was disappointed in the food at the dinner buffet. There was a lot of items offered, but none of it was really to my friends nor my taste. The desert bar included some delicious items, though. The spa was awesome. I got a 90 minute massage and an aloe treatment. Both were great.

Fantastic!

We stayed at a Grand Water Villa at Olhuveli for 4N. The resort is beautifully done up and the area where the Grand Water villa and Grand Beach villas are situated is particularly breathtaking, with turquoise water and white sand beaches. The resort has 5-6 restaurants, each a different cuisine type, which actually worked out well for us as we were on a B&B package. The food at all the restaurants was superb. There's enough to do and explore at the resort itself, and they also organise multiple excursions. The boat transfers and checkout was also very well organised. The only thing that could get better was the wi-fi speed sometimes, but not sure the resort itself can do anything about that. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and loved everything about the resort!

Deception at its best

This hotel is beautiful and there was one staff member with with a brain that assisted me with my challenges(Ahmad). Unfortunately he is leaving the resort which is bad for them. The assistant front office manager whatever his name is was extremely rude, indecisive and doesn’t know how to make guests happy. The situation was it was not available on Expedia to my original booking to have all inclusive on my stay which is necessary being on an island when boats cost $100 and plates at the resort are $40-60 per meal... so I asked Ahmad to upgrade and the price was $250 per person. Now besides the dollar value itself get this, parts of the all inclusive deals would not be available to me even at that price because it wasn’t pre arranged. So in exchange I asked no worries the pool villa has an empty room since I’m paying $250 per person per night for just free food allow me to upgrade my room as I was not truly blown away by the beach view with the construction on the other side of the beach. The manager disagreed with that request. The best part was I went on Expedia and bought a whole new room with everything I wanted for slightly cheaper. The manager who hid behind his desk the entire time having Ahamad run back and forth like a puppy instead of taking time out of his busy schedule to address the issue finally got off the desk and asked us to cancel the room and pay directly to the hotel. Made sign a no refund waver as I denied and enjoyed my Maldives experience for a hard penny

I was told by a staff member this drink was called a Lemon under the beach and had no cranberries and only on further interrogation it was clear it was in fact a Cranberry Fizz. Further still our dining experiences only got worse, beef that was chewy and inedible, fries with hair in them and incorrect orders with food not provided as requested. Unfortunately being stuck on an island only leaves you with the option to continue eating at their establishments. Each time we raised this to the staff they did not do much to fix anything and assured us everything would be ok. Until our encounter with front desk manager, who after many unhelpful conversations then decided to shout and scream and hurl abuse at us.

Christmas was a rip-off and Reception staff poor.

Our first trip to the Maldives and the water bungalow didn't disappoint, although tired it was roomy and comfortable even with 3 of us in there. We saw rays, baby sharks, unicorn fish, pipe fish and even a turtle from the balcony but the water was only knee deep so too shallow to snorkel which was a disappointment. We were B&B so had to pay $250 US each for the compulsory Gala Dinner on Christmas Eve. This was a huge rip-off as there was very little that was extra-special and the meal did not include any alcohol. In fact something I ate disagreed with me to the point that I had to see the Doctor on Christmas Day due to diarrhoea, and my stomach was upset for 4 more days. My real complaint was with the Reception staff though. Every time we asked a question we got a different answer. For example I wanted us to spend 25th together on the Snorkelling Safari but on asking on 23rd I was told it was not on due to lack of interest. So, we chose to do the Local Village trip instead. That then was also cancelled due to lack of interest but I found out the snorkelling trip went ahead - but was now full! This happened more than once with dinner reservations, trips and resulted in us not doing any trips at all. We did have the Lobster dinner which was £163 USD each but included a bottle of wine and unlimited lobster on the beach in a lovely setting - well worth the price. Also Alselm on Reception went the extra mile getting me some recipes for Maldavian dishes to make at home.

Nice 5-nights vacation on the Olhuveli island

Olhuveli island is a good choice if you are expecting an affordable vacation at the beautiful beach, not very quiet during tourist season, and may not have much privacy; but it does provide very nice view and comfortable room. We came during early June, when not so many tourists around. The staff are very friendly and easy to communicate in general. Only thing I am not so happy with is their internet - free but very slow. I understand some people may prefer a vacation without any electronic devices. Unfortunately, I still need the internet to check my working email, and would like to share the beautiful view of Olhuveli island with friends and loved ones. The room is spacious and clean, only thing to complain is one or two of our plug bases are not working....I like their food in the Lagoon restaurant and the sunset breakfast buffet. Overall, very nice experience for us and I would recommend this hotel to my friends planning to visit Maldives. Wild animals such as baby sharks, fish are easy to see around the resort. We also had a wonderful dolphin watching cruise during our stay, very grateful to this amazing experience.

Fantastic Staff

We were at Olhuveli Resort for 10 days over Christmas. We were more than happy when we arrived. The accommodation was simple but nice and had a lovely view over the lagoon. Their Christmas agenda was great and the food was delicious. The main thing I would rave about was the staff, they couldn't do enough for you, there were a few that went over and above their duty - Shamin at the reception always greeted us with a cheery happy smile, Nabeehu in the main restaurant looked after us for the entire holiday and before we had even sat down he had our drinks order already on the table! Shujau in the Sunrise bar was just a delight and made us laugh and finally Upul, Zaheen and Nazeer at the Dhoni bar where we spent most of the time were just a delight and always made sure that we had everything we needed. A fantastic vacation and did not want to leave.

An amazing place to be

Friendly staff from the GM who was on his first day of duty all the way down to the room services. We can't miss to mention few names: Ateer (the front desk manager) and Sena, Azim and Sharef from the restaurant (excuse our spellings). Very easy and friendly check in with an amazing welcoming soft drink. The cold towel whilst getting of the speed boat is something to remember, we loved it. Clean and quite beach, an ideal place to switch of from a busy lifestyle.

Nice but expect USD$500 per day on extras

I have no real complaints about Olhuveli except that for myself and my bride, we spent USD $500 per day on extras such as food and activities. I chose Olhuveli because it looked like excellent value-for-money and certainly it was a whole lot cheaper (half) than other similar 5-star resorts. But the first shock was that the speedboat transfer from the airport was USD$277 per person return, not included in the "package" despite being unavoidable, and then meals of $55-$65 per person plus 23% tax, then converting to Aussie dollars, it meant that I was stressing out about each expense ("can I minimise this?") rather than relaxing. We got no freebies despite being there a week and getting to know the staff. Apparently a lot of chinese tourists come here with bags of noodles and then hole themselves up in their rooms. That's one approach I guess. Snorkeling is really cheap (renting mask/snorkel/flippers) and it's a great spot for that.

Breathtaking views

I was blown away by this location. Truly one of the most unique and beautiful places in the world! The beautiful clear water is full of sea creatures that you can see without even snorkeling or scuba diving. There is a great reef on the resort's property for easy access scuba diving or snorkeling. My honeymoon overwater villa was bigger than expected, and had a huge deck with a stairway into the ocean. Everything was in USD and in English, which was really helpful for me- and unexpected being so far across the world. The jacuzzi didn't get hot which was disappointing, but the villa was so awesome that I can't complain much. There was a big additional tax on everything, but it was expected. Friendly staff. Overall such a relaxing and breathtaking place, a dream come true. I hope to go back someday.

Great Hotel , fantastic food and staff

Hotel was great, I had a few issues, a light and door needed attention. They fixed straight away. Breakfast free buffet was excellent, lots of choice. Only a few complaints and that was due to the bar. Most of bottles were empty, so you had to keep going up higher in price. If they have no Absolute, or Grey Goose, the only one they have should be the lower price. Also be careful if you order a $12 cocktail and want a top shelf Vodka, be prepared to see $30 on your check as will charge you for two doubles. All the food through the resort is fantastic. Don't waste you're time on the Crab/Lobster special , no lobster or 2 small crabs taste $200 good. All A la Carte is fantastic. Don't go to Maldives if you have a budget less than $300 a day else you will get mad at $12 for samosas , $32 for a Burger etc.

Had good time

Before I booked this resort, I didn't read the reviews, so I was nervous that I might make a mistake. However, my husband and I had great time there. When we arrived at the airport, we waited about an hour to get on the speedboat. Speedboat fee is pricey, but to get to the resort, it is the only way. I booked water villa for a week because it was on sale on Expedia, and the price was reasonable. The best part of the water villa is to have your own access to the ocean. Housekeeper came to clean up the villa twice a day. We got breakfast only deal, but we realised to save money on food, it is better to order room service, and it is cheaper than the restaurants. The staff was really friendly. On the last day, before we departed, I forgot my aloe lotion in the fridge, a staff found it and delivered it to me before I got on the speedboat. Overall, we had a great time when we were there. We knew August was off season in Maldives because it is raining season. We didn't mind it at all. I also enjoyed the view of cloudy and rainy Maldives. Water villa is a must in Maldives since we saw many fish and rays out during the night.

Never again

Yes it is a beautiful scene....beatiful photos and we have many..... But that's all. 1st.... It cost $550 (rt) to get from the airport to the hotel. The air conditioner in our room did not work well and it is hot there..... The front desk will always be helpful when they talk to you..... But they will do nothing to help you... They show many excursions to take..... But you cannot go .... If not enough people sign up then it is cancelled. We signed up everyday but always cancelled. Dinner cost $80 to $100 Per person per meal. And it is ok... Only ok. The cold drinks are never very cold.... Ice is a rare commodity. (a cold drink on a hot day SURE feels good, but you won't get one there) ask for ice and you will get 3 small icecubs . There is nowhere to buy snacks or munchies. I told the front desk I wanted to take a boat ride into the city..... First he said NO, you cannot.... But after some arguing..and $238...he agreed. And it was easy.... But my point is that he really tried to stop me from leaving.... I have many many stories... But I hope you get the picture.

An old resort with below-average customer service

The airport transfer to the resort was not confirmed beforehand. I had to call Expedia the day before the trip to get the speedboat transfer timings to the resort. On the day itself, I had to buy a SIM card at the airport (USD11) to call the resort as the person supposed to meet us for the boat transfer at Counter 22 at 9.45am was not present till I called the resort 10.30am, after which he arrived at about 10.35am. There was no apology or compensation given for this lack of communication and unnecessary waiting time. The resort was old. On the second day we found a large cockroach in the balcony area of the villa. There was a poor selection for the buffet breakfast. The room service was priced exorbitantly - USD39 for one serving of fried noodles.

Olhuveli Beach & Spa Resort was a great experience. We spent 4 nights and enjoyed everyone. We stayed in the deluxe beach accommodation which had everything you would need including a guest safe, hairdryer, minibar, air conditioning 32" flat screen TV (with movie and sport channels) and DVD player. Room servicing was discrete and spot on (though I did tip, in US $). Another pleasant surprise was a universal power plug adapter.

Never felt as an appreciated guest

We decided to spend some days of our honeymoon at this hotel, but once there, everything turn around money, never felt really welcome or special. Seems like everyone around sees you as money holder and not as a guest, and their mission is to get the most out of you. At arrival you have to pay $280 USD per person for speedboat transfer in order to get to the island. Once there be sure to bring enough money cause the only thing they do not charge is the air you breath, cause even the late check out has an extra cost! And they are not willing to give you even an extra hour, not even if you are a honeymooner. Maldives is a beautiful place, the sunsets are amazing and the water temperature is awesome. Paradise on Earth really! You can practice snorkeling, scuba diving (quite expensive), kite boarding, windsurf, etc. But I am sure you can find a better place than Olhuveli, cause here the maintenance and cleanliness of the hotel is not the best. I understand is very difficult to maintain a place in the sea, but for what they charge you might expect an impecable place, and Olhuveli is not. They have several kind of rooms and we chose the Honeymoon Villa, is very spacious and private, but the condition and maintenance is not the best. The jacuzzi did not work properly and the bathroom cleanliness was not appropiate for what they charge. I would better recommend to look for other options where even the staff could treat you as a welcome guest and not a money provider.

Olhuveli Beach and Spa Resort Nighmare

I had a horrible experience. I would not recommend it to anyone. Staff and Management are all rude and unprofessional. They would actually tell you the hotel is too expensive, you should not book what you can't afford. So you can feel like your cheap or as if you don't have money. Who talks to a hotel guest that way. Its a nasty beach, not clean. A whole bench of greedy Indians. All the upper managements Indians want to do is make you and force you to spend so much money. They have all these tricks and hidden cost that they want to charge you through technicality. No customer service. Hold you a hostage, would tell you, can't move do anything until you pay everything up front. You book the hotel for $599 for a family of 4 per day. When you get there they would charge you $124 per person per day per person, telling you their name is not on the guest list, when booking there is no option to put all the guest name. Lunch and Dinner $305 per person. Drinks $ 65 each. Boat ride $305 per person, initially would tell you $250 for family. A plan to spend $ 3500 on a vacation turned out to be $8900. You have no choice once you get there. You can't say forget it after traveling 16 hours to get there and everything is Non-refundable. Why go to Olhuveli when you book a vacation in the Virgin Islands or the Caribbean for $2500 with no hidden cost and clean, beautiful beach with a wonderful staff. Every where you go can you buy this can you buy that. If your a billionaire, its no problem

Do not accept local currency, have hidden costs

They refused to accept the local Maldivian currency (rufiyaa) and have mandatory hidden cost such as very expensive speed boat transfers from and to the airport, mandatory Chritsmas and New Years Eve dinner ($300) you cannot skip it even if you do not want to eat. The speed boat transfers are not even private. You cannot chose the exact time you wish to leave. They put you on a boat with other clients (15 person boat). Other than that everything was great and the food is excellent.

First time Maldives traveler???

If this will be your first time in the Maldives, GO... If you have ever experienced the discrete luxury, the great food, the nice corral gardens and general high quality of the "brand" Maldives DO NOT GO to Olhuveli. This is a totally over rated "package tour resort". This was my 10th time to the Maldives, and I do acknowledge the fact it often proves easier to criticize than to praise. But on this occation I'm left with no option.

Beach is nice, not hotel management

Maybe we went in a holiday season, and everything was so expensive. Some were understandable, but others were not. The room was shabby, the toilet smell badly, the ceiling fan didn't work. The holiday buffet dinner costs USD310 per person(regardless you eat there), which was way overpriced given limited food choices, and not even including water or any soft drinks. There were other hidden charges such as boat transportation from airport to the hotel, which came up to around USD1,000 for 2 adults and 1 child. When asked about possibility to upgrade to a water villa, we were told it would be over USD730 additional charge per night. Also, don't sign up for any event unless you're sure, otherwise they will charge you full amount regardless if you change your mind within 6 hrs prior. That said, if money is no object, beaches are nice, and ordinary staff (waiters, cleaners, etc) are friendly, but not "managers"at front desk.

Nice, but just not worth the price

The place was clean, well run, pretty gardens and the service staff reasonably attentive. We enjoyed our time. But the price level was far above and beyond what we received. Our water villa had seen better days--the drape holders fell off the wall, the key holder fell a couple of times, and a plug was broken. The cleaning staff forgot to clean our balcony practically the entire period of our stay. The gym was at the level of a simple economy three star hotel. Again, none of this was devastating or made the place bad in any way--it was a nice villa and it was cleaned daily. But I've stayed in better places in the Caribbean for a third of the price. If you do come, make sure to get some sort of all inclusive package. We had all these extras tacked on to our bill that made it even more expensive. $600 extra just to get a boat from the airport (as if there was any other way to get there). $400 for a nice dinner, but if you want a cheap, decent personal pizza with a coke or a beer? That's $50. Christmas Eve dinner, which was a nice buffet, was another $325--a person. And there was no other place to eat that night, so it's either no dinner, or it's $650 out the door. All of that just adds $1500 to an already inflated room price for a short stay.

Beautiful Island but disappointing Service

It is a beautiful island with wonderful beaches, the scenery is unique with extraordinary marine life however, it is far too expensive for the quality of goods and services provided. We have been to many island in the Caribbean and Europe and we found this resort unjustifiably expensive. Being forced to dine in three restaurants operated by the resort and being charged extortionate amount of money. We were forced to stay in the island as the resort would charge extortionate amount of money for a boat facility, $ 300 per person for the transfer from Airport to Resort and back. This is the type of resort that one needs to read all the small prints in the terms and conditions before embarking on it but unfortunately we failed to do that, as when we had our Christmas diner we were presented with a $1000 bill for three buffets to our shock and dismay realised that we were also charge for one of our guest that was ill and could not have the dinner, and when we dispute this with the manager she replied that is all written in the terms and conditions. We believe that the resort operates very unethically and run by a management who do not have a clue nor care about customer satisfaction.

OK

First off, 2 ladies who attended to us were amazing. There was Hana and another nice girl that drove us around early on. Also were some other staff (bar, diving, restaurant and housekeeping) who were always polite and courteous. Things are pretty expensive to eat or drink especially. Tried to get an upgrade but they will only allow upgrade payment per individual, despite us checking in as a couple and it being our first time. That is quite greedy of the management. Check out time was 12pm and it did not occur to them to call say at 11am to remind you to check out, on the assumption that the guests may have been asleep. They call at 12pm to demand immediate checkout or else you must pay a huge amount for late checkout. They even said if we had not had our baths, we could go shower at the restaurant's bathroom. We didn't find it funny rushing our bath and putting our things together for checkout. As a result of the above, we had to bring forward our departure transfer from 8pm to 2pm, because we were required to then sit at the reception (or bar or restaurant, etc) from 12pm till 8pm (8hours). It may sound different, but this was the 3rd resort we stayed in during this trip and the first resort gladly offered to take us back to our room to rest until our departure time, which was beyond their checkout time. They also need to work on their bathroom: when you shower, water flows out to other areas of the bathroom/toilet/sink areas. Extremely poor internet connection.

When I arrived I was a bit disappointed about not being able to upgrade to water villa based on no availability, so in return I upgraded to beach villa, which I absolutely loved. However, after a few minutes they called me and informed me that they had actually managed to get me a water villa. First time to Maldives

Generally we have a good time at the resort and Maldives is beautiful. Resort is nice. Staff are friendly and very helpful with exceptional for one or two. Facilities are sufficient. Its a plus to have in house diving school. Boat transfer was exorbitantly priced at USD280 per pax for a 45 mins ride.in fact a plane ride to the northern part of Maldives will only costs you USD200 for a 45 mins on air. Food was great at Lagoon bar. staff was friendly. Price is ok considering the quality served. However we can't say the same for Four Spices when it took more than an hour to get our food when there were just a handful of diners. Food quality was bad and not worth the price we paid. our check in took more than an hour. instead of being promised a beach front villa, we got one that faces bushes. Credit to the manager who managed to give us a better room but it took more than 2 hours before we could settle in. Checking out was bad too when the staff insist we leave as per schedule and if we want to leave earlier, we have to pay additional USD95 per pax. We were upset because earlier they say we can get on the 3:30pm transfer instead of 8pm so we made excursions bookings in Male city. Again only the same manager was able to help. credit to the all the staff at diving and spa centre for they were extremely friendly and helpful. They need to improve on check in and check out staff. The first and last impression are important and the staff there are just not friendly at all.

Full board does not mean the same as all inclusive that was our only hiccup which was fixed. Staff were amazing. We will definitely be back. Prices were expensive. All inclusive is the way to go.

great place, even better than the photos!! the staff were very friendly, but only one issue - we booked the cabana for anniversary dinner only to find when we arrived we had been bumped because the owner wanted to use it...no warning or apology offered by the owner or manager.

A short weekend in paradise

I stayed in a deluxe room near the beach. It was a 30 second walk to the beach. The room was small but VERY comfortable. The staff was very friendly. The gentleman tending to the room was very friendly and wanted to ensure everything was perfect. The food was pretty good and there was something from nearly every cuisine out there. I took in a hot stone massage at the spa that was much better than expected. The beaches were repeatedly cleaned to remove seaweed and other items that washed up. The water sports area had a fair array of things to keep you entertained. There were also many nooks on the beach to enjoy some quiet. A very nice, short trip (36 hours) to the island. It might get dull after a few days if you are the active type (like myself), but it was great.

More like a three star resort

This resort is overpriced. The staff is not friendly and they try to steal more money off you. The excursions are unsafe. We went into a storm and then the fog came. The crew had no idea what they were doing. Stay somewhere else unless you get this resort for dirt cheap.
