Amazing 5 star experience. Beautiful resort and the best staff I have ever had. Thank you for the wonderful experience
Thamid keep our beach villa neat and tidy, he is very responsive with our needs. Sun siyam Iru Fushi is 10/10 for me. The island exceeds our expectation.
The all staff were very disposal , kind and polite ! There are different restaurants which you can enjoying different type of food ! But the property is old , for 5 stars it need to be renovated and to be mantiened every season ! The one part of island is very very noise , because from 6.00 am starting to arrive the planes , not only for Irufushi , but also for tourists for other islands where keep to be quiet . Between 23 /12 -3/1 ot was as Very traficated airport , which make the place also not clean and noisy. For 5 stars unacceptable!
Excellent service!!
We stayed at Sun Siyam Iru Fushi for our honeymoon. The beach was absolutely breathtaking! The grounds were very clean and the staff was so friendly and kind. The place was very quiet and relaxing. The food was great. Our only suggestion would be to add daily activities such as games by the pool and switch up the nightly activities.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I enjoyed my stay but when you walk around the trails, there is a horrible sewage smell at times.
I need my refund
Is a true paradise!!! Everything in this place is special, the food the staff the view the services everything was amazing.
The service and staff were always welcoming and available. Very organized and professional service and everything was highly efficient. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to experience a serene getaway.
The Kings on holiday!
Lovely island for a family holiday and amazing beach all round the island. We all loved it. The food was great in all the restaurants with a wide choice. The kids club was really nice for our 3 and a half year old son and our daughter of 17 months loved it as well and Nancy and Kimberley looked after the children very well. However, you are charged a babysitting fee for children under 3 but you don’t leave them in there so long as you want to enjoy the beach, sea and your villa with them if you have a pool like we did in the back of the villa.
Property needs upkeep we got a villa and assigned a butler who made dinner reservations for us. All restaurants were booked for dinner and only the butler can make the reservations. We were in limbo where we would eat for dinner. Restaurants were good but can not compare to 5 star property
The accommodation and service was phenomenal! The whole experience was quite unexpected and exceeded our expectations!
This resort was beautiful and I definitely recommend it. Staff are very friendly and everything was clean and organized.
Service was godnand people were friendly. The rooms looked new and had great views
Exceeded our expectations in all possible ways. Wow what a wonderful resort. The beauty, friendliness and helpfulness beats all other resorts we have visited. We are only few days into the stay but had booked two different room options. The private villas are so beautiful and secluded that it is possibly even better than our water villa which in itself is fantastic. The place seems to be ideal across ages, cultures and tastes simply because it meets all needs. Thank you
absolutely fabulous property with impeccable service
Excellent I like it every thing like paradise the staff amazing
Beautiful, quiet resort. The beaches were incredible. Delicious food and good service. The only drawbacks were that the food was so expensive (normal for remote islands) and lighting in the bathroom (and the room) was so dark at night.
Paradise
Amazing place.. Service was fantastic! Especially butler service and people in the bars.
The island and the hotel is amazing. Just restaurants tastes needs to be improved, for the prices for the food is not cheap, I guess they need to improve the quality of the food too. The only thing which was not good in the room was the position of the air condition, the air was coming directly on bed and it was annoying .
The Staff are the friendliest i have met and the facilities are superb. The staff paid attention to detail to make our stay exceptional
Very good resort. Staff is polite, professional, and thoughtful; going above and beyond to help us solve our problems and ensure we had the best stay possible. Special shoutout to our butler, Shanun for making us feel like valued guests, and have taken care of all of our details so we don't have to think about anything and only enjoy our time there. Restaurants are top notch; the buffet had a lot of selections, with rotating dinner options. Flavours (french) and Trio (Italian) are both great restaurants with great atmopshere. Ice cream shop have Happy Hour! single scoop is only $2.50 per scoop! Plenty of free activities. Volleyball, badminton, video game room, billiards, darts, canoing, wind surfing. Great nature trails Plenty of different type of lounge chairs (at the beach, by the pool, in the shades, etc) for you to lounge around and do nothing. Kids club for those who brought their kids, so the adults can relax without worrying about the kids. Snorkeling gears are complementary, and plenty of safe snorkeling options for even those that doesn't swim. Twice a day room service kept the rooms very clean and supplies full; buggy services give you the option of not having to walk, and nightly music performance are great for those who want to enjoy the evening breeze and wind-down in the romantic setting. Our room, Horizon water villa, and spacious, and worth every penny. Definitely recommend this resort to all
Absolutely exceptional quality of service and experience throughout. Hospitality was second to none. In particular, the sense of being made to feel that you are on holiday was extremely satisfying.
The facilities were excellent and staff were mostly helpful. Butler service was hit & miss, mostly miss.
Deluxe beach bungalows had an amazingly large outdoor enclosed bathroom complete with swing bed. Not crammed tightly amongst other bungalows and beautiful Maldivian décor - thatched roof, sala by the beach, etc. Good choice of restaurants although need to reserve ahead to secure, prices not too outrageous by Maldivian 5* standards. Only improvement would be the Waters Edge bar in the evening really needed a live singer/band/entertainment (outside) to attract people to chill out for longer.
This resort is amazing. We stayed in a Horizon Over Water Villa and every day we snorkeled a few times right from our deck. The food and drinks are amazing and the staff is incredibly friendly. We went to the gym and spa almost every days. The gym is small but sufficient and the spa has many many treatment options and the staff are skilled. Expect to spend a *lot* of money on activities and amenities. We chose to not do the all-inclusive as the food options are reduced. I think we payed about the same in the end but could chose any meals from any restaurants. We loved every moment of our vacation.
From the moment we landed in Male until we left it ten days later, laterally there was nothing to complain about, everything was perfect!!! The resort is perfect and they are taking care about every single thing that can make your experience better. Highly highly recommended. And YES, we will be definitely be back.
The entire stay from the moment we landed until the time we left was amazing. The best romantic vacation we have ever had. We took the horizon water villa. Moussa, our butler, took care of everything for us, reminding us and ensuring we take advantage of what the hotel and Island has to offer. The food was great and very versatile. We loved the fact we can go down directly from the villa and snorkel around. The diving was great as well with a lot of sharks and turtles among other fascinating things to see. We would definitely want to do it again!
Customer service was amazing from arrival to departure.
The perfect Honeymoon destination. Everything exceeeded our expectations. Staff’s passion and pride for service came through in everything they did. Food was high end and worth every cent. Pristine beaches, beautiful rooms, excellent facilities, exceptional spa. Complete paradise.
Weak service but hopefully improves
After my comments on a previous stay, instant reaction came in from Hotel Management. Complimentary drinks, executive chefs & resort manager apologies which I thought was very kind and caring but at the same time fake. As our last meal prior to departure we had a similiar issue with the invoices. The few people are truly making it the island a paradise are the ones that are honest and open. Bell boys, house keeping, dive centre, all staff at the water edge and Ace(chef from Bamboo) keep it up and thank you for making this a fairy tale. Hopefully all other mistakes will be fixed for other guess to enjoy their stays.
Horrible Service
Everything is just like a fairy tale except service in the restaurant's. Service is horrible especially when you pay $$$$$ for fast food meals. Need to bring the standards a bit higher because most of the time it's a waste of your meal, your time and $$$$$
Amazing place with amazing staff.
The best holiday! We enjoyed our stay in a delux beach pool villa. The staff are all amazing with the best service I’ve seen from a hotel. The island is truly beautiful and has so many different eating options. As good as the pictures you see online. Would highly recommend.
Its amazing
Outstanding service!!!
What sets this hotel apart is the quality of the service. Management and every worker we encountered enhanced our experience. We stayed in the over water villa and the attention to detail was impeccable. My wife and I stayed for a week we looked and many hotels before chosing this hotel. I must say it didn’t disappoint. We talked to a few other couples from other parts of the globe and we everyone was impressed by the quality of service. We plan on visiting again and have already Recomended Sun Siyam to a few friends. If you want a relaxing vacation this is the place.
unparalleled service while surrounded by amazing nature. the friendliness of the staff is as much a vacation as is the excellent natural surroundings
It was great. The staff were very helpful and it was overall amazing. Very well kept
Great resort
The resort is wonderful and staff is very helpful. Great food options. The only issue was regarding effectiveness of Air Conditioners in the room.
Paradise
Unforgettable paradise stay. Perfect time. Great staff and food. Best tuna steaks.
Nice hotel, big Island and poor house reef
The stay was very pleasant. I stayed in a Beach Villa and the rooms are very nice and spacious. The Island is quite big so at times there is quite a bit of walking to do but there are buggies available on call. The food was of a good standard and there is variety with several restaurants. I highly recommend the Indian. The real disappointment was that the house reef is really not very nice. If you like snorkelling this is a big negative. The diving sites were very average for the Maldives with basically two sites worth visiting (Shark Point and Christmas tree).
Beautiful property, great staff
We stayed here as a couple for 4 nights in the water villa. Very nice property. Lots of food options to choose from. Lots of families with children. Its a resort for all.
Patch of paradise in Indian ocean
My wife and I spent our honeymoon vacation at the Sun Siyam, and after 4 nights and 5 days of our stay, we can confidently say we made the right choice. We were pleasantly delighted by the quality of services and amenities available at this resort. The staff was customer oriented and friendly.
WiFi pretty much a waste of tIme if you want to any meaningful work , also found the mini bar top ups confusing These are only minor in an otherwise perfect place
Perfect Honeymoon
There is quite the variety on the island. This includes restaurant varieties, 2 swimming pools, lots of water activities and shopping available. The island is small enough that you can walk around it in about 30-45 mins but it doesn't feel small. It's well kept and the staff are very friendly. Room - We got the over water villa with a jacuzzi. It was great to be able to enjoy the jacuzzi while star gazing, it was wonderful. The room was quite big, and the view from our bed out to the ocean was just amazing. The bathroom area is not air conditioned so we just kept the doors closed. The bathroom was huge with a jetted tub and rainfall shower. Restaurants - If you don't get the all inclusive, you need to consider extra costs on the food. It's not cheap but definitely delicious. Plus, there is a variety of restaurants to go to and the buffet changes themes every day. Staff - All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We always felt looked after and helped. Our butler, Shabeen, was lovely. He helped book our activities and dinner reservations, gave us a tour of our room on arrival and checked in on us regularly throughout our stay.
Trust me ... Avoid !
Certainly not a 5 start resort ... Nice setting but such poorly managed property ! The rooms were in run-down condition, the reception / room service don't answer the phone, a struggle to get booking in hotel restaurants (first night every restaurant was full), poor customer service, poor quality food (especially given the prices charges). We left so disappointed.
Disappointing Paradise
My husband and I were very disappointed in our trip. We spent 27 hours traveling to the SSIF. When we first arrived in Male, we had to wait three hours in their airport lounge, and then when we finally were boarding our seaplane, we were notified that the plane had too much weight and our bags would be on the next plane. Our bags did not arrive for another six hours, at 7 o'clock at night. We were also not pleased with the upkeep of the resort. Things were not well maintained or manicured. The beach and the water is beautiful. If you are going to the Maldvies for excursions, diving, manta rays, snorkeling, DO NOT SELECT THIS RESORT. The most heartbreaking thing from our trip is the utter disaster that was the Hanifaru Bay excursion. This hotel advertises that they have a manta ray excursion, where they take you to Hanifaru Bay. THEY DO NOT. According to a staff member, they've only done this excursion a handful of times. They strung us along for our entire trip and on the last day of our trip told us it was too far to Hanifaru Bay and we were SOL. We were not given any sort of reason, management didn't reach out, our butler didn't even give us a clear explanation. We were left high and dry with nothing. We will never go back to this resort. And I caution anyone who wants to go there, make sure all you want to do is sit on the beach.
Great trip and amazing experience all around! I would highly recommend this place. Top notch accomodations.
Private island vacation
Very nice accommodation with a bungalow right on the beach and very private and relaxing. The staff was very friendly and helpful to all our needs . I had a wonderful relaxing vacation with my family.
Excellent resort in the Maldives with a great Kids
Great Diving! Friendly staff! Kids are free and there is a great kids club!
Huge Island, great service, food variety
While this resort is quite expensive, it is cheaper than many of the other resorts of this caliber in Maldives. The main selling point for me was the size of the island and the variety of food we get to eat. I am a fussy eater, so was a great joy to see dedicated Italian and Indian restaurants with fantastic room server 24/7. The spa is probably the best in the country and we were super happy with it. We stayed in the Infinity Pool Villa which was great, although don't expect much privacy as people will be snorkeling outside your room. We had a private butler and everyone was super friendly and accomodating! All in all a fantastic experience, would definitely recommend!
Amazing resort - didn't want to leave Iru Fushi!
Amazing stay! We extended our planned visit by an extra night we liked it so much. No detail is overlooked at this resort and everyone on staff is incredibly friendly, warm, helpful and really go the extra mile to make you comfortable. Would highly recommend and will be back myself - it's paradise!
Really good place
Advisable for families and couples.
Best vacation ever
All is perfect there. The place, the staff, especially Sammy, who took perfect care of us.
Amazing experience
This was by far the best holiday I've ever had. My girlfriend and I loved every minute of it. There was plenty to do and plenty of places to chill out. It was the perfect balance of exploration and fun while being relaxing. We didn't want to leave. The staff were the friendliest in the world. Only thing slightly negative I can say is that it was expensive. But thats the Maldives. We made amazing memories there and will recommend you go to anyone.
AMAZING hotel, spectacular room with a view!
We visited the Maldives for our honeymoon. The entire resort and our spacious overwater villa were even better than we expected (and we had very high expectations). Our overwater villa was utterly spectacular, with jacuzzi tubs both inside and outside on our private deck! We went snorkeling right from our room (although the reef isn't in great shape due to global warming). The staff made our honeymoon that much more special, including placing rose petals on the bed for our last night and giving us a spa voucher as well as a free snorkeling trip. The food at the various restaurants is fabulous -- don't miss the fresh lobster BBQ on Sunday evening. Most evenings, we ate dinner will sitting right on the beach or on a pier over the water. The spa is luxuriously wonderful, too! The only minor drawback was that the WiFi is very, very slow, but it really didn't bother us, because we were busy enjoying our honeymoon. We look forward to returning for a future special anniversary celebration!
Paradise in reality
Beautiful hotel. Overwater rooms are absolutely amazing - exactly like the pictures; clean; comfortable; luxurious. Great snorkelling straight off the balcony and onto the house reef. An hour kayak per day included. Buffet breakfast huge and varied spread. The butlers and staff all helpful and lovely. Luxurious huge spa. Diving centre a little disorgnised. Just go.
This hotel has close to 500 staff, serving 500 guests in maximum. I was amazed by its view and facilitates. You will be getting everything you need basically in view of the ratio of service staff v.s. guest. You won't be disappointed with choice made. The sea plane experience is superb. Strongly Recommended! Many hotels might not be kid friendly, but this hotel definitely does, it even has its own 'childcare center'!
Maldives is always Heaven! hotel can improve more.
A Charming facility, but staff need better customer service training. Perhaps better for families with kids than adults. Seaplane flight is exhausting, with three stops to reach hotel!
great oppurtunities
Very nice hotel, great opportunities, however the restaurants were not always on the top, except for the Tepanyaki and Iru, they were great.
Luxery and friendly
A great place also for kids
Amazing Hotel So going back.
This hotel and island is amazing. Food and Drink was great. Staff were very friendly and always said hello when they passed you. 4 days just wasn't enough. Planning on going back again for a week. It is paradise
Luxury stay on beautiful island
Have been very delighted to choose the resort for our stay in Maldives. Although the price is quite high, but the experience was worth it. The staff or personal butler there is very friendly, patient and we like their service very much, as they made our trip much more at ease. We are being greeted politely upon arrival and even departure. We dined in at the Iru Buffet Restaurant for breakfast. There were different variety of food such as Indian food, Japanese sushi and sashimi, Western breakfast and also fresh fruit juices, yoghurt and even ice cream. All were good and satisfying ! We have also walked around the villa, it was very tranquil, everywhere is pretty tidy up and beautiful. Environment is clean and comforting. We stayed on water villa it was a very pleasant stay! Travelled to every other places with our personal butler and buggy car. We have also tried one of the water sports, canoeing. It was a good experience indeed. But, if only they allowed us to play more than an hour a day (as it was limited to only canoeing for an hour per day), it would be much nicer. Also played the volleyball and futsal in the evening on the beach, that was fun ! One of the remarkable experience was watching sunset by the beach our butler brought us to, sunset by the beach with romantic ambience and set up, cooling sea breeze and tranquil environment, definitely beautiful. Recommended for families and friends. Enjoy much !
Awesome Place
I travelled to more than 30 countries so, I'm confident enough to rate my stay in The Sun Siyam Iru Fushi resort in Maldives. Once I arrived in the airport, I found the resort representative and he took me to the lounge. The lounge is more than what I expect. The staff there were so kind and arrange everything for me to reach the resort by the seaplane. I met Mr.Shizvin and Mr.Anees and I was amazed by thier passion and knowledge. I arrived in the resort and found Mr.Mario waiting for me infront of the seaplane door and welcoming me by my name. He took me and my family to explore everything in the resort in a very attactive way. During my stay, I can tell that place is very safe, quite, and awesome. I went to fishing by private boat (770$/2:30h) and I hook a big fish called Wahoo (Thanks Mr.Fayiz for helping me). Also, I went for sunset fishing (121$/2:30h). My Kids spent thier time in the Kids Club which is have a great sitters. I tried four restarants there which are Iru Restaurant, Trio, Flavours, and Islander's. Food there are way much more what I expect. They have lot of choices and food is all fantastic which is very rare to be found in one place (I recommend try the Islander's and eat from the Chef.Samanatha). Mr.Mario made my stay went so smooth and perfect. This man can do anything for you with a big smile. Really thank you for surprising me by made a celebration of my 10th marriage anniversary. Going back to Maldives.. Definitely will be in Iru Fushi.
Maldives
Amazing location, staff and surroundings. A place to get away from it all.
Paradise on Earth. absolutely loved it!!!
Amazing hotel
Should be a 7 star. Couldn't believe how nice the staff were. I would def recommend to all friends and family.
Incredible Resort!
I stayed in a Pool Beach Villa in Sun Siyam Iru Fushi for 9 wonderful nights The villa was nice & quiet. It was spacious for my family. The villa is very clean and pool, although small, was loved by my kids. Showers are outside the villa which was nice for me. I loved jumping in the pool early morning and taking a shower outise in the fresh air before going to breakfast each morning. We had a short access to the beach from the villa which was also great. Staff is very welcoming and friendly .. Always greeting with big smiles and helpful tips. Kids club was also great. My kids loved the place and the ladies working there. They kept asking me to drop them there everyday. There are more than 8 restuarants with different variety of food (Italian, French, Indian, Japanesse, Thai, Chinease ..). All are of great quality and taste. Kids eat free by the way in all of them. There are two public pools with great atmosphere. I enjoyed both especially the adults one which has a great view on the beach and the sea. Bars are also close to them if you want to enjoy drinks and small meals. Water activities are also great with many options. I tried the banana boat and funtube with my kids, both were entertaining. I also went on the Holhudhoo Island Experience. It was a wonderful experience were you meet local people from Maldives and see how they live. In general, the island and the resort were beautiful. Highly recommended for families.
Amazing hotel and staff
This was literally the best hotel cannot fault it. The staff are amazing and helpful and the food is fantastic just be prepared to pay as they have big taxes to pay. However the room the service is 11/10!!
Great Honeymoon destination.
My wife and I stayed at this hotel for eight days. It was our. First of all do not expect any special treatment if you were an Expedia+ Gold (elite) member. At our arrival at the Male airport, we were greeted by one of the resorts representatives, he escorted us to the smaller airport where we checked in our luggage to Iru Fushi, note the 45 min seaplane ride is $500 RT per person, then we were taken into the resort's lounge at the airport where they offered us refreshments and a free back massage. As soon as the plane landed, our butler Jilaal introduced himself and then took us to the restaurant/lobby area to show us where everything was. I had booked a room with breakfast but I inquired about all-inclusive option. Well if you are a big drinker all-inclusive is the option for you. A beer runs $9 and a cocktail runs between $15-18. All-inclusive includes unlimited drinks and only three meals per day, no room service and no mini bar, each meal consists of appetizer, main course, and dessert. Buffet costs $50 a person only for food excluding any alcoholic or non alcoholic drinks (unless you were all-inclusive everything would be free for you). Average meal at the restaurant is about $30-$55. We had a sunrise overwater Villa, the view was amazing, the water was unbelievable, and the beach white powder like. The service is incredible, room service twice a day. Every single person that works there is extremely friendly and everyone makes you feel like a special guest
Beautiful, unforgettable views, great staff
This was our first trip to the Maldives and it will not be our last. Apart from some issues with the seaplane departure (which was cancelled due to poor weather), the stay and the staff at the resort were simply amazing! We stayed in a water villa (one with a hot tub and then one with a private pool). Both were amazing rooms and the staff was very helpful for anything we required. We did not partake in the all-inclusive option for the hotel but depending on your lifestyle you may want to consider this as the prices in the Maldives are extremely expensive but also a part of the experience. Budget accordingly. As mentioned in the first part of the review, our issues in Male with the Iru Fushi staff there came from the fact that once our flight to the resort was cancelled, us and 2 other families were left to our own resources to find a place to stay for the night. This meant extra hotel charges for us and last minute decisions which were both stressful and not part of what should be a 5 star experience. We completely understand the decision not to fly but we would have expected hotel arrangements to be taken care of by the resort so that we would be taken care of as well as we were at the resort. We provided this feedback to the Iru Fushi MGMT and they were very understanding of our position and made every effort to make up for this situation. It was our opinion that they should have something lined up for travelers in this case. But the staff was amazing for the whole time!
Top of the Class SERVICE!!! Extremely rare, a Gem
This was of course a premium resort, and it met and even exceeded our expectation in terms of resort service. From the moment we landed by seaplane, we were greeted by our Butler, Jaleel who took care of our every need for 5 days, until we left. He was reachable almost at all times, and would always be able to fulfill our every request. I was told he has to manage 20 customers at any one point of time, how he did it with world class service and being available all the time, amazed me. I was also treated very well by Deanna, even before I landed in Maldives, and finally managed to meet her was a delight. And I lost my Gucci sunglasses when I left the resort. They emailed me 2 days later stating they found it. It was one in a million chances and THEY DID IT!!! WOW, what a fantastic team of dedicated staff. They don't pretend to treat you well, they really treat you well. And they don't judge you, they just cater to your needs, whether you want to do something upper class, or more economical. They just want you to enjoy Maldives!!!! It was during Ramadhan and they were fasting, and yet, they did not even appear weak and tired. This is the spirit of The Sun Siyam team. I will give them 7 stars!!!!! GREAT JOB, WE ARE DEEPLY IMPRESSED!!! Love ya
Honeymoon in water villa
It was a wonderful experience for our honey/baby moon. Of course, it's Maldives, so water, sand, and location you can't beat. I know it's quite a way from the mainland Male, especially if you are coming from the US and you've been traveling for more than a day already, but it was so worth it after all. We were especially so impressed with the staff of the hotel from the bell boy to manager of the spa, who approached and tried to do anything possible to accommodate us, the minute he found out there was some miscommunication. Our butler, Bhuwan was just a sweetheart, such a personable guy. Made it very difficult for us not to love that place! He assisted to extend our check out and take off because I am pregnant. He personally made sure that everything was smooth for us and we had nothing to worry. Jesica at the reception was another lovely and reliable person we love to interact with. The food was amazing, although a bit too pricy for us. Breakfast was fabulous and included in our stay. The attentiveness and friendliness of the stuff in combination with the beautiful accommodations let us have the time of our lives honeymoon.
Refreshingly relaxing
The stay in Irufushi was fantabulous! We had planned another vacation, cancelled it in the minute and booked at Sun Siyam through Hotels.com as the offer seemed good and we we wanted to go somewhere this summer. We were pleasantly surprised and then super excited by the resort, the staff, location and the idyllic Maldives. Resort is very well-maintained, staff well-trained and friendly and professional. There are several activities to keep kids engaged. We were a bit disappointed that the recreation wing of the hotel insisted that we must be very proficient swimmers to go for snorkellng. As there are not many Indian guests here, the resort may not be having guides who can nurture the novice in snorkelling. Heard that some other resorts do train guests and then take them for snorekelling. The sea was also rough for other sports during our stay. But we enjoyed the Sunset Dolphin cruise and managed to see dolphins, in spite of the low chances. The beach in our villa was pristine and beyond any earthly sight. The pool in the villa was well maintained. There are multiple restaurants in the resort. Choices limited for vegetarians. All restaurants are a bit pricey. The downside of the whole thing was that we were not aware of the cost of transport from Male airport to the island by seaplane. It was not mentioned in the cost of booking and I did not have time to see the hotel website. We paid more the accommodation cost for the transfer by seaplane to the hotel.
Honeymoon experience
The hotel is better than what we expected. We are a new couple who just got married, and it was a fantastic experience and everything is unforgettable: the facilities, the pool, the water sports, the staff, for the first time I think reality is better than imagination. I recommend this for any couple who want to have amazing times.
Great property but AWFUL FOOD
Fair warning to anyone thinking about coming here - the food is 2 - 3x the price of top restaurants in New York and LA but the quality is that of a buffet in Reno (it is probably worse here actually). We are still on the island and after eating at 5 different restaurants the first three days (lunch and dinner) we decided to give the buffet a try as we have been disappointed with our previous meals. the buffet came to $342 for three cans of coke, a bottle of pellegrino and the buffet for 3 adults (my 15 yr old, my 16yr old and myself). My daughter tried a bite of most of the food but settled for three small side salads. My son literally tried everything and had to spit out the food twice. I sampled most everything but ended up eating less than half a plate of food. The rice was fine (so I ate it) and my one rib would probably have been decent had we come at 6pm instead of at 7.30 by which time it was only luke warm and dried out. Not sure how the duck was cut, but every piece was extremely tough and full of bones so it was impossible to eat... I have no problem paying $100 or more per plate if the food is good, this had been a disappointed had it been a $20 meal - at $100 person it is offensive. To those of you who think I am Moron for going to a buffet, I agree, it was simply a result of the bad experiences we had in the other restaurants... The property is nice, it is clean, the water and beaches are amazing... great place if you don't think $32 for a hot dog is offensive
An excellent resort
An excellent resort...my wife and I went there for a honeymoon and we didn't regret, on the contrary we had a outstanding lifetime experience. We booked a normal beach villa, but they give us two upgrades :) ...first to the deluxe beach villa with the pool, and for the last two nights another upgrade to the horizon water villa. Both villas were outstanding, very spacious, clean...Staff was very polite, friendly, especially our host Ashfaq. The resort was almost full at the moment, but we felt as we were only people on the island so the privacy is guaranteed. Food prices (especially drinks) in restaurants, water sports and excursions could be little cheaper but I suppose these are the prices in 5 star resorts in Maldives. We went for the dinner every day, had one or two drinks through the day, went on one excursion and I tried wakeboarding and for the 4 and the half days we spend around 1000 $. Overall, an outstanding resort that evokes the beauty of the Maldives and I would highly recommend it.
Great Family Vacation
My wife and three kids spent 7 nights at the Sun Siyam Iru Fushi. It was an incredible vacation. We stayed at a Pool Beach Villa. I was a bit concerned before leaving that the room would be too small for a family of 5 (Ages 9,7,4) and that we would have to pay extra for additional beds, but I was extremely happy with the size of the space and they had already setup three single beds for my kids at no extra cost without me having to ask about it. Even though we could close off the room with the kids in it after they fell asleep, we didn't need to as there was plenty of space in the outdoor pool area or on the beach to have a glass of wine and talk before heading to bed. The space itself was really nice and the kids loved the pool and outdoor space. We were steps to the beach from the backdoor, so we split time between the pools and the amazing beach. We went with the all inclusive package and I was very glad we did. What I really enjoyed was that even with the all inclusive package, we were able to dine at the majority of the restaurants on the island, including those on the docks and on the beach. We weren't stuck eating the buffet for every meal. The food was very good and the service was great. The resort itself was very family friendly. I was a bit nervous bringing kids on a vacation like this, but there was plenty to keep the kids busy. I think the kids were out of the water for only a few hours per day. They loved it!
Bad Hotel
hotel not beautiful and frusration...............bad bedroom
Now one of my top hotels
First time in Maldives - great experience. Very relaxing, had things for the kids to do, staff were excellent from beginning to end.
Lovely resort - enjoyed for our honeymoon
Spend 10 days there for our honeymoon. Would definitely recommend. The island itself, the people, the food, everything was just amazing.
First time visitor
As a first time visitor to the Maldives, I was amazed by the island beauty, and this resort had everything I wanted in an island vacation. The restaurants served delicious food and drinks. The beaches were pristine. The pools were also very nice, although I spent all my time swimming around the coral reef just beyond the water villas. The resort offered a number of activities too. I opted for the sunset cruise and dolphin-spotting, glass bottom kayak, and cooking class. The resort offers paddleboarding free for the first hour, and free snorkel equipment for the duration of your stay. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. By the end of the week we recognized each other by name. The only disappointment was the renovation of one of the restaurant sites (3 unavailable restaurants) which included the wine bar, champagne bar, and French restaurant. There were still plenty of other dining options to choose from.
Beautiful Paradise in the Noonu Atolls
Sun Siyam Iru Fushi was great. It was formerly called The Hilton Iru Fushi Beach & Spa Resort. The resort met my expectations from its great customer service and fine attention to detail. Food was quite expensive. Think double digit USD for a bowl of rice and quality was rather average to put it favorably. We were upgraded to a beach villa with a private swimming pool. the overall layout of the villa is incredible and definitely recommend over the water villas. The Jacuzzi and the beautiful outside area set this resort apart from the rest. The staff were friendly and welcoming. They were cordial and respectful and very honest. Everyday someone came to clean the sand from the decks and from the swimming pool.
Great Family Vacation
We had an excellent time at the Sun Siyam, nobody wanted to leave. They are setup really well to accommodate children with the kids club, kids buffett and kids menus in all the restaurants. My children enjoyed the free snorkeling gear and PlayStation + Wii games in the Rec center. The water and beach were incredible, that was the highlight and most enjoyable part, being in the middle of the Indian Ocean was awesome and the Maldives are beautiful. Staff at the hotel are very friendly and accommodating, they always made us feel welcome and helped us whenever possible. Many thanks to Jipson for taking such good care of us!
Real paradise
Excellent beautiful, privacy paradise
amazing experience
an amazing experience in paradise!everything was perfect!the only thing was that everything was extremely expensive but this is how Maldives are...however the experience was amazing!!!!!
Amazing location on the beach with pool in the gar
Amazing staff, nice location of the villa with the private garden and pool. Nice food with many choices of restaurants. A lot of activities available.
my honeymoon
wonderful hotel. We spent part of our trip in villa on the beach and the other part in water villa. The staff are great to deal ... always you find them smiling. they respect the nature and tourists, and they giving you the highest levels of services.
Nice hotel but wasnt has a privte pool
Our flight was to long from Medinah to Male and the food was extensive and taking long time to our room
Foods are too expensive
I understand this island is in the middle of nowhere and thus everything has to be transported from some other places. Therefore I have to accept high prices for everything, e.g., USD 5 per scoop of ice cream. Nevertheless, dinner at buffet restaurant was still too expensive. It cost more than USD 100 per person even though the quality was below standard and disappointing. All other restaurants were also expensive but still quality of foods were acceptable - but just acceptable. Nevertheless, the resort provides very nice facility and service in addition to wonderful beach.
Sun Siyam Nightmare!
August 12, 2015. 6: 30pm. I am sitting in reception at the Sun Siyam Iru Fushi Hotel in the Maldives. What began as a great vacation has turned into a nightmare. Due to inclement weather, the sea plane airport was shutdown at 5:00 PM Iru Fushi time today. We were not told at all of possible poor weather conditions and therefore were not able to make alternate travel plans leaving the island. As of this moment, my family and I are stuck in the Maldives unless we pay between $12,000 and $30,000 to get back home. One way, for 5 people. The hotel, "The Sun Siyam Iru Fushi" had ample opportunity to inform of the weather changes and to transport us earlier in the day to the Male airport. Instead, they waited until too late and we are not able to get to Male until tomorrow. Emirate airlines no longer has any flights available for us until August 24, and thus we have to buy brand new tickets on a new airline with no possible reimbursement of the cost of our original tickets, costing (for 5 people-3 children: 4, 7, 9 & 2 adults ), $14,000. As I sit in the reception area of the hotel I have been on the phone with airlines for over 3 hours with no possible positive conclusion in sight. While the money is exorbitant, the Sun Siyam Iru Fushi has made no movement at all to assist in this matter and even told us they needed to charge us for the extra night(s) we will be staying due to their incompetence. My kids (4, 7, & 9) are starving as we are not able to eat until the airlin
Amazing
You won't be disappointed, go..... Everyone so friendly, resort beautiful, Dive Centre great.
Better choice with this price
Totally confused front desk. Didn't release deposit after check out.
Fantastic place - perfect for our Honeymoon. Amazing service and truly beautiful location.
beyond the sand sea and sun
Nice villas room and good views . Cheerful and friendly staff. Too bad there is no corals and fish. Food is expensives and not much variety.
Go with the best
The stay was fantastic. We originally booked a beach villa but upon checking in shifted to a over water villa immediately. There is no comparison between the two. We were luck as the resort had plenty of availability so we could accommodate a move. I understand the resort is typically at full capacity in the winter month so a move during that season is much less likely. The issue is the beach villas are well off the beach and have plenty of vegetation around the villa. This makes for great privacy but also limits the sunlight and attracts mosquito and other insects. The breakfast buffet is exceptional and truly has a broad range of options. The other benefit is the resort has multiple restaurant options and plenty of activities and events both on island and off. I truly believe this is one of the top resorts in all of the Maldives
excelent for hony mooners, and familyes
great experince , beachs , pools ,daiving ,water sports , servecies.
Beautiful resort with excellent staff who do their best to make you enjoy your stay. Highly recommended.
Idyllic
We celebrated my wife's 50th birthday in January at the Sun Siyam visiting the Maldives for the first time. The whole experience from start to finish was bliss including the efficient seaplane transfer and the genuine friendly staff who couldn't do enough to make our stay a pleasure. Our beach villa was superbly appointed and we never tired of the view of the turquoise water and white sand. We dined on the beach for my wife's birthday and it was a day we will never forget
Staff discrimination
Most staff are good especially the Japanese food chef & manager. However the 2 that work in water sports was racist and degrading to guest. After a complaint nothing was done. Food was also very expensive for a lobster be prepared to fork out $500 USD. Also, an average dish is $50 USD.
