The location was astounding and the staff was excellent.
Bed is very coforteable. Breakfast is poor, always same food and not too much variety. If you are late to breakfast some items will be unavaliable (croasans for example). Convenue walking distance to most of attractions (Blue Mosque, Hipodrome, Bazar, Aya Sofia mosque
Me and my wife had an awesome experience staying at this hotel. The staff is very friendly and can help you find everything you need. There is no better spot to stay in if you are inIstanbul for site seeing. I can also recommend their guide service for $120 US I had a complete personal tour of all the important local sites and it was excellent worth every penny.
The hotel is excellently situated for exploring the old historic centre of Istanbul on foot. We had a fine view over the Sea of Marmara from our sheltered balcony and there are many restaurants and shops close by. The bathroom was somewhat cramped and poorly designed but otherwise the room was fine. The breakfast was very good in the dining room with views over the sea, but we found the evening dinner of poor quality in comparison with local restaurants. We were also disappointed there was no room service when we arrived about 10.00 in the evening despite the promise of 24 hour room service on the website.
Absolutely loved the character of the hotel - very traditional with a beautiful small garden in the front of the hotel. It’s in the perfect location, very peaceful save for the call to prayer which I happen to love and just one minute walk from the blue mosque and from there very close to most of the other key attractions. Breakfast is great, a large and varied spread, and with a great view looking over the Bosphorous.
Beautiful place, good bed, good room, balcony, good breakfast. Alex and Jan and the cleaning lady couldn't be more helpful.
good
not bad
This was a nice place to stay. A little outdated, but clean and staff was friendly.
We arrived with staff waiting and carried our luggage to our room. Was directed where breakfast would be and if we needed any help at any time to book Tours. During our stay our room was cleaned daily. Staff greeted us each time they saw us. It was a lovely stay. Would recommend and visit again.
Would stay here agsin but just one problem
The hotel was lovely ! Right in front the Sultan Ahmet Masjid. Staff answered sny queries. Only downside was the shower. Itvsas not sturdy and had to he held!
Good
Very close to all the tourist spots. The staff was very nice and helpful.
All around good place to stay, easy accessible to Blue Masjid and shopping centre.
Excellent hotel
It was amazing stay to this hotel and service was on top notch
Excellent location just outside the Blue Mosque and next to the square with Haiga Sofia. Property has own private grounds as well. Rooms are very cozy. Breakfast very nice and at room overlooking Bosphorus, so can watch sunrise and sunsets. Staff very attentive And goes above … delivered luggage to 3rd floor room as there is no elevator. Moreover receptionist walked me outside after check out and made sure that I used the correct taxi for a ride, so not to get scammed … All in All - Liked it much … When / If back - would stay again. Recc with No Reservations…
This hotel is conveniently located to all major area attractions. The staff is very accommodating and the free breakfast every morning is sufficient and decent quality to start your day. We had two rooms with a family of four people. Both rooms were clean and nice except the bathrooms are very small and were probably converted from a bath to a makeshift shower, We could manage so it was not that bad. The cleaning service was excellent. We will recommend this hotel for the value of the money and convenience.
Great helpful staff and nice rooms.
Great location
The location is great, but the rooms are small and dated. The breakfast was dire and the service in the restaurant was terrible. The saving grace were the front of house and “bell man” who were extremely attentive. The housekeeper/cleaner on the 2nd floor was unhelpful and aggressive I wouldn’t stay again.
It’s very conveniently located . Very safe had good views of Bosporus! Staff was very helpful. Had a great time .
Nice place closer attraction
Very nice area but beware you need to pay for your parking.
One can't beat the location if staying in Sultanahmet. The staff is friendly and helpful. The bed is very comfortable. The rooms are not sound proof especially if your room is located near the main stairs. But it does not matter, as the call to prayer will wake you up anyway :) Wonderful fish restaurant closer to the Marmara sea and in 10 min walking distance. The bathrooms are in traditional Turkish style with a basin . There is also a shower and it could be attached to the wall. In our room we were not able to take a standing shower because the basin took up all the room. One can get used to it though. If you want a cab to the airport, arrange it through the hotel. Much easier and the price is better. The breakfast in the morning is nice but does not change day to day. They do serve custom made omelets.
The room was tiny, I could hardly walk. The bathroom was horribly small and uncomfortable. Will never go back to this hotel
It’s an average property considering its price. Best thing is easy accessibility
Rome is very small and very noisy. You can hear everybody when you talk outside and is nasty.
Location Location was perfect - so close to all attractions in the Old Town. Room size It was fine - not massive but did the job. It was clean throughout. Bathroom The bathroom was too small. You need to walk into the shower area to get to the toilet. I actually have a bruise from hitting the ledge when trying to exit the bathroom. The shower curtain has to rest on the toilet brush which we thought was unhygenic. Whilst the hammam bathroom looks good, it was very slippy which is not good for older people. Breakfast The view was beautiful but the food was not good except the honey from an actual honeycomb. The juices were all carton drinks. This is not what I was expecting from a Turkish breakfast. Service The service was brilliant. Halleel (man on reception in evening) was lovely and so knowledgable. He is a credit to the hotel.
Amazing hotel. Located in the heart of the old historic centre, within easy walking distance of all sites. We had a great room with balcony, and views facing directly on the Blue Mosque and the Sea. Hotel is immaculately clean, with Palace type furnishings and decor, with traditional hammam bathroom, very comfortable bed, fridge, tea-coffee facilities, safe-box, sofa. Very friendly and professional staff, all if them always go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. Very good buffet breakfast with both hot and cold food. And a lovely garden. The hotel is a haven of peace and tranquillity away from the frenzy of the city. Highly recommended.
The friendly staff was very helpful in arranging for transportation to the airport. Very convenient location. Can highly recommend.
Great location
The exterior of the hotel is beautiful and in a wonderful location with great views of the Blue Mosque. The room was too small, the ceiling is very low, I cannot recommend the upper floor.
Wonderful location, room, breakfast, and staff.
It was great
The only thing I will suggest is to change the bathrooms doors to open to the outside . Currently you have to step into the wet turkish bath area to be able to open the door.
Central to all tourist attractions activities and good restaurants in the surrounding.
Walkable
i loved my stay here. the staff were incredibly kind and helpful during our stay. additionally, i had stayed in this hotel for three nights, left for three days, and then came back for an additional one night stay, and when we checked in for our last night they upgraded our room free of charge. it was a very nice and pleasant surprise. i highly recommend staying here.
Fantastic hotel near all the major historic sites.
Close to everything and right in front of one of the mosque’s
It is a gem in old city. The view of Blue Musk is fantastic. Staff is friendly and professional. Excellent choice to stay in Istanbul.
We booked the room with balcony over looking the blue mosque. Sublime.
Great holiday and stay at this hotel. Staff were lovely and we were very well looked after
I fell in love with the hotel but the highlight was the view of the blue mosque as soon as you open the entrance door
Excellent breakfast.
The staff were very helpful and friendly, the rooms were comfortable and clean. The location was great for taking in many of the visitor attractions in Istanbul, and the rooftop restaurant had wonderful views out across the bay.
Excellent hotel , friendly helpful staff Good breakfast
I loved my stay here. The hotel itself is so beautiful, you feel transported upon arriving. The rooms are also very beautiful and the view we had was breathtaking. The staff was also extremely helpful and nice during our entire stay. One the best experiences I’ve ever had at a hotel. Only complaint is that they keep the hotel and rooms pretty warm which can be uncomfortable but you can lower your room temperature.
This is a nice and conveniently located hotel. The rooms are however very small. We only stayed here for a night, which was ok, but for longer stays they seem too crammed.
Charming Ottoman style hotel
This is an older character hotel in an outstanding location with beautiful views of both the sea and the Blue Mosque. They serve very good and varied breakfasts in their dining room with a view of the sea. Everything was clean. The shower is a bit weird with the hammam bowl in the middle of it and the bathroom in our 3rd floor side room was pretty cramped. But the views are unbeatable!
Very authentic
Authentic Turkish Hotel
Lovely authentic Turkish Hotel very close to the Blue Mosque. Nice breakfast with a good view. Needed a little TLC but it was so authentic and close to everything it didn’t matter.
This could be an exceptional hotel if simple upgrades were provided like better quality bed pillows, linens and towels. The Ottoman style bathroom is unique but poorly functional. This style belongs in a hammam not a little hotel room. The coffee and lentil soup is dismal. Breakfast is good. This hotel is in a wonderful location, walking distance to all the old city attractions! Sumptuous decoration but rooms are somewhat shabby.
Perfect location for main tourist attractions in Istanbul - Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern and Hagia Sofia all within short walking distance. Cafes, restaurants and public transport all within easy reach. Helpful reception staff - nothing too much trouble. Breakfast - a wide variety of local and traditional food, again with friendly, helpful, courteous staff.
Wow, what a great place, great staff and location, best possible breakfast view !
Balcony off room
Its unsafe stairs and washrooms have taken pictures to share ended up 2 falls in washroom
Yes
Central, lovely friendly hotel
Property has a great location with great view to the Blue Mosque as well as Bosphorus. Breakfast is ordinary and so is the upkeep. Access to Hagia Sofia, shopping and other eateries makes it a good compromise. The other hotels in the area (besides Four Seasons and Hilton Suites, Curio Collection) are less impressive.
Great views, great location, great staff! What else can you ask for.
Very convenient and easy access to all attractions
Nice hotel and good location and the service was excellent and the member of called Gan was very helpful and went out his way to accommodate us
Awesome
I stayed at the Sultanahmet palace hotel for a long weekend with my mum. The location is great - in the heart of Sultanahmet and near the tram too. The staff are super welcoming and polite. The hotel was really good value for money - our room was huge and looked out on the Blue Mosque.
We loved the breakfasts and the views from the gardens and terraces. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel is lovely and within walking for many of the top attractions. I’d recommend it to family and friends.
I loved my stay at this hotel! It was close to almost everything. Even if not close, the metro was 5 mins away and so easy to access. I loved the view of the Bosphorus on one side and the view the Blue Mosque on the other side. The room was a little small but it felt nice to be in a more old Turkish style room. Also the bathroom was also a traditional hamam style. The staff was very helpful and kind!
Close to everything
Irish tourist
The hotel is in an excellent location for sightseeing and transport links. The room was cleaned everyday. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and very helpful. There is a great choice of food for breakfast. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
Everyone was kind, personable and accomodating. Friendly, helpful service.
A hidden gem. Location was superb with most of the main attractions within walking distance. Staff were helpful and patient with us with our many questions. Would definitely stay here again.
This is the best hotel in Istambul. Not only are the clean spaces and beautiful views important to us, but the amazing location of this hotel and its staff were beyond exceptional on our trip to Istanbul. I will always recommend this hotel. Again, best of best of Istambul!
The hotel let us into our room early, which was greatly appreciated after our long flight
Wonderful palace building, dated 1910. Central to Sultanahmet old historic centre of Istanbul. All sites walkable. Yet a haven of peace and tranquility with lovely gardens. Excellent rooms: we had 302 with perfect view of Blue Mosque and Sea of Marmara. Staff friendly, kind, professional. Breakfast spread excellent.
Good
We had an excellent time. The hotel is nicely done and we’d booked a room with a sea view which also had a balcony and small table. The breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice. The situation is perfect for visiting the main sites of interest, most are in walking distance. The staff were friendly and helpful.
It’s ok
Very nice central hotel. Our balcony had wonderful view of the Blue Mosque. Lovely breakfast and lovely people.
This hotel is right behind the Blue Mosque. Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern, Topkapi Palace and the Grand Bazaar are all within walking distance. A couple of blocks away are streets of restaurants, some of which have terrace dining with view of the mosques. It's a 300 year old historical building. Balcony has decent view. Breakfast is quite good. Front desk staff are very professional. They go out of their way to help us retrieve an item we have left behind in a restaurant near the Spice Bazaar. We would like to once again thank them publicly.
Very convenient
Love the location and the view of the Blue Mosque.
Old world charm Excellent staff The towels were ragged and old
It was a wonderful hotel. We really enjoyed our complementary breakfast, surroundings. Some staff members were not too happy about breakfast arrangements because of our earlier departure at 7:30 AM. There is no elevator and it was difficult for my elderly mother to get to the third floor with her cane. Overall it was fantastic! The view from our room was spectacular! I would definitely com back.
Nice place
The view from our room's balcony was absolutely incredible
Terrific location within a few minutes walk of the Blue Mosque (view from our balcony at night was unbeatable), the Hagia Sophia (also visible from our room). Loved the restaurant scene a short walk away. Room small (very small bathroom) but excellent breakfast with a view of the Bosphorus (outside sitting optional). T1 tram easily accessible with links to Metro lines to Istanbul Airport. Highly recommend this hotel for all the reasons you want to visit Istanbul.
Beautiful unique place. Nice staff, great breakfast.
Highly recommend.
Very friendly staff, lovely view from dining area for breakfast. Beautiful view from our balcony of sea and blue mosque-room 317- please note no elevator if mobility is an issue.
Good hotel in the heart of Istanbul.
The view of the Blue Mosque was astounding, we arrived from the airport at night and as we got out we saw the Mosque right in front all lit up. It made our trip. The location was perfect and the garden in front and the restaurant were wonderful. The view from the restaurent was great we really enjoyed eating there. There area around the hotel was very safe and we were able to walk to all the important landmarks nearby.
Charming, gorgeous little hotel. Very polite and pleasant staff. Fantastic breakfast with the great view! The front desk is very responsive. I will highly recommend to other travelers!
Great heritage property with history , awesome view of sea, fantastic location with majestic Blue Mosque right opposite, very helpful polite staff .. Highly recommended
The property is located in a nice area near the Blue Mosque and Arasta Bazaar. The facility is clean with good breakfasts. Our room was located in the corner of the third level with slanted roof. The bathroom was too small, specialty the shower area with low ceiling height and uncovered waterway trench near the door and the shower as a tripping hazard, a shower hose, and a sink right in the middle of the shower. The room was supposed to have a view of the Blue Mosque but you had to bend over to see the it through a window in a small sitting area. The bed did not include a sheet under the blanket. It took two days for the staff to take care of the issue.
Nice place .Excellent breakfast. Amazing views
Beautiful hotel in the heart of the old city, right across from the Blue Mosque. The location couldn't have been better. The hotel is older but beautifully and elegantly furnished. The rooms are small and our bathroom was tiny..but it's all part of the charm. The breakfast buffet was very good and served a variety of foods. We highly recommend this hotel
Good place and service. Great area.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Sultanhannet Palace Hotel. The staff were friendly & helpful. We had the deluxe room with the beautiful blue mosque view it was beautiful. The room was very spacious with balcony. The breakfast was good and fresh omelette to your taste cooked on request. We really like to thank Khalid & Namakul for all their help. We would definitely visit again and stay in this hotel. Thank you once again.
Top of the list as far as things to like, when you leave the front door you walk into a market and bam, your at the Blue Mosque! Shopping, tram, money exchange, places to eat, all close. The Hotel is lovely, but be aware there is NO ELEVATOR. I enjoyed the thick curtains that block out light, and the view from the balcony of the Blue Mosque and the Bosphorous... stunning. We loved the breakfast which included things like tomatoes cucumber olives and fresh honeycomb, if you like your eggs easy over they will make you fresh eggs. They did come in and straighten up the room and make the bed every single day, which was nice. The tram is near and you can use it to go literally everywhere, you don't have to actually buy a card for the tram you can just tap your debit card, which is very convenient and cheap. I loved my stay here, no real complaints. One thing I would like to mention though is I went when it was cold outside, inside the Hotel was very hot, but of course you can control the temperature in your room. In fact most places we went to like on the tram etc they seem to like a lot of heat, more than what I'm used to (and of course for us it wasn't actually very cold either).
