Locating the front door can be a little tricky but one you find it everything will be great! Nice location near the dock and a nice little coffee cafe nextdoor. Clean rooms and very helpful ladies at the front desk
Excellent service, extremely clean, nice breakfast, very friendly hotel with great staff. I am now friend with most of them.
Nice staff and clean hotel.
We had a lovely stay in the Hotel with nice staff and clean rooms and other areas! The only thing that made us upset was the apparent extra fee that was $9/night/person extra charge that wasn't written or included in Hotels.com.. This was greatly disappointing because the room was $18/night and this extra tax made it dubble the price which is an extreme increase and surprise when not mentioned in the booking (apparently this tax is addes in bookings.com but not Hotels.com) Hopefully this will be mentioned in the future with additional tax to pay in hotel. Other than that we loved the place and gice it a 5 star because of the nice and helpful staff and clean ac room.
Location is 5 min walk to the port. Close to all the main stone town attractions.
A mediocre place
The hotel entrance and reception not inviting. The rooms are small to normal size, clean but worn out. There is no mattress but foam. Internet service exists but very slow. Breakfast is ok. No fresh coffee or tea though, they come in tea bags here. The nearby mosque can be a nuisance at sunrise specially on your first day after an 8 hour flight. On arrival we were offered a triple room for about three hours until we were appointed to our reserved rooms. The best excuse was that the people staying in those rooms had not arrived to pick up their staff. In my opinion, the hotel is overpriced for what you get. There are nicer places nearby in similar prices.
We experienced a welcoming atmosphere from all the staff and more from Wilson and Fatima. The location is perfect if you travel with the ferry from Dar Es Salam.
You Want economy, You Get a 2 star Hotel
I have stayed here several times, and continue to occasionally becasue of friendships I have formed with staff members. The staff are always helpful and polite. The hotel is a 2 star, in a noisy part of the city, but an excellent locartion near to the ferry port. THe rooms are very basic, and it is likelt that something does not working a room on a given day. The price is hard to beat, though.
Great place to stay if you are on a budget. The hotel is in the middle of stone town and close to everything. The staff are super friendly and helpful! The room was OK and clean, but there is no barrier between the toilet and shower. The overall experience was good but do not expect luxuries since it is a cheap hotel.
Not a nice place
You are woken up terrified at 5:30am by the extremely loud islamic call to prayer, chanted from speakers pointing directly into you room. There was no breakfast even though we paid for it, and the bathroom was not very clean. Almost no other guests there.
Great location.
Value for money.
Central location . Great staff . Budget hotel but worth the price.
The hotel staff was wonderful. The rooms were clean and the hot water abundant. Just a short walk from the ferry. Definitely would recommend it.
Rooms overbooked, but good manager made up for it
I was quite upset when we checked in and were told for 2 of our 3 nights, we would have 1 rm with 2 queen beds, instead of the 2 adjoining rooms I'd reserved and paid for on the booking site. But the manager was very willing to compensate us for the lost room according to our requests - we got a delicious meal and tour of a spice farm with transport from the hotel. The rooms are a bit old and run-down, especially bathrooms, but were clean and had good Windows and Ac. The rooftop terrace for meals is lovely, and the included hot breakfast was quite good, especially the fresh juice, fruit and the crepes they made one morning, and all the staff were kind and friendly. It is hard to find, especially since there was no sign, but other than some traffic noise from nearby busy road, location is good- ten minute walk on waterfront from Forodhani Gardens/old fort, and five from terminal for the fast ferries from Dar. Overall, it was a great place for us with our two young kids (5 and 8)-- as long as you can be a bit flexible, I'd recommend it.
A éviter
Horrible ! Je ne recommande pas du tout cet hôtel est je suis étonnée que Hôtel.com le propos. J’ai payé 42€, il n’en vaut pas 10 ! Vétuste, salle, plomberie hs, … a fuir
