I liked this hotel much better than a large chain hotel as it had character and the food was good, though the portions are small. It was an excellent place to stay for our first day in Sweden.

Nice Rooms, But Watch the Price During Check-in

We stayed in the hotel part, not the hostel. Nice private room with private toilet & shower. Check-in was problematic. The price I was expected to pay---in Swedish crowns---seemed high. Fortunately, my accountant son caught the discrepancy. I had told him the Hotels.com price in U.S. dollars. It turned out that STF was trying to charge us a price $300 higher than the Hotels.com price! It took her awhile, but the check-in clerk eventually found the error (we had to show her the Hotels.com reservation confirmation). She said that someone had neglected to press a button to give us the Hotels.com price. But we had booked it on Hotels.com!!!!

Affordable hostel/hotel in an amazing location

I really like this hotel/hostel. The rooms are the same whether you stay in the hostel or hotel if you want ensuite toilet. If you can bring your own bed linen and towels, it becomes much cheaper. The breakfast and location is fantastic for park, restaurants, transport.

Amazing hotel!

The room was very clean and spacious. Our room had a bathroom/shower in it as well. There was a shared kitchen area which was great for making breakfast in the mornings. The location was super great as well. It is close to the water front and also close to shopping stores and grocery stores. Transit was a close walk as well.

Lovely hotel / hostel in Södermalm

My friend and I spent a long weekend here in late September 2018 (3 nights). The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Shared facilities such as the WC and showers were very clean and never very busy. There is even a shared kitchen with excellent cooking facilities. We were also very happy with our room which was just the right size (and the mattress was comfy enough!). Overall I was very impressed as customer experience was top notch although the room was affordable. The area is lovely and green and about 5 minutes' walk to Hornsgatan, a large road with several shops, bars and restaurants which seem to be popular with locals and tourists alike. We walked everywhere from the hotel but if you prefer using the subway there is a T-stop about 4 minutes from the hotel. I will definitely be returning to Zinkensdamm Hotel in the future! Thanks for a great stay.

Basic but clean hotel near to playgrounds

We were on a budget trip. The room was very small but clean. Staff were very pleasant. There was a shared kitchen and eating space. You can use a private space in the fridge. Sweden can be expensive so we cooked some meals ourselves. It felt like student days but actually quite pleasant to be surrounded by lots of lovely languages and my children made friends. Just a few metres away is an excellent play park. A little further and you reach the water. In good weather you can swim there. The tube was easy to use. We caught the commuter boat to sightsee on the water - much cheaper and arguably better than the sightseeing version as we got to sit outside in lovely weather.

Good value by Stockholm standards, hostel is a little out of the way with shops etc about ten minutes walk near the Zinkensdamm tunnelbana station. Tourist attractions are a few stops away on the tunnelbana also.

It is located in a very nice, very quiet place in stockholm. The rooms are small but you have a good size locker with key. I rented a bike at the hostal and it was worthy. Very close to everything and the ride was great The breakfast is not included in the price but they have a well equipped kitchen for those who use the hostel part. After a long day, you can drink a beer outside the patio

Great Value for Money

Pleasant stay, hostel had a great atmosphere on arrival as it was a sunny day and lots of people were at the bar. Facilities were great and value for money was spot on. Everything you could need was available from reception.

Would appreciate if my room was cleaned at least once during my 10 nights stay .... 50 Pounds per single room per night ... Bed lightning wasn't working, the rest of things were fine. Perfect location .... Will stay again.

Great value but beware of what you are getting

A cool location in a park, but down a lot of steps so not so easy if you don't take a taxi and have luggage. The rooms are very basic, but you are staying here because you're on a budget. You can save the linen fee if you being a sheet and towel. There is a shared kitchen with free pasta and cooking facilities and a secure fridge to hold your stuff. Not a ton of restaurants very nearby, but the hotel restaurant is decent but limited menu, others are about a 15 minute walk. A very good value in Stockholm if you are ok with the shared bathroom, which is kind of like camping.

A few words about Zinkensdamm ...

The hostel accommodation is great and in a very good location for exploring this beautiful city. The staff were always courteous and professional and have very useful local knowledge which is a great help. The facilities are good and the overall atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. We only took breakfast at the hostel, which was good and offered a wide range of foods to suit different tastes. The ambiance seems to rub off on the travelling community and we enjoyed a few brilliant days mixing with people from all walks of life. A fantastic break and we would not hesitate to visit again or to recommend the accommodation to others.

Cute little place

This was a great place to stay. The staff was very helpful, the room was small but comfortable. My only major complaint was that the doors are insanely loud. I was woken up many times because they slam and shake the whole room. It was frustrating but a mild complaint compared to how things could have been

Loved the Zinkensdamm! Wish I had known about the kitchen sooner, and the room needed black-out curtains because the sun set and rose so early, but otherwise, was great!

Nice oasis in Stockholm

Super friendly staff, and I liked the stocked communal kitchen with private fridge compartments - that was very useful! Hotel in quiet park like setting, just a 2 minute walk to Hornsgatan, a major thoroughfare in Sodermalm.

I made my best experience of Sweden here!

Hostel is a little away from public transportation stops but it's not so hard to get there. Friendly, multi-lingual, Viking-like receptionist greeted me. :) Room was safe, clean and well furnished. Shower facilities were also great. Breakfast was upon surcharge, but it was delicious! I just fell in love with this place and regret that I only had one day to stay. I would definitely visit this place again - next time with my loved ones!

Great little place

Very nice, they had two twin rollaways, instead of the bunk beds. Worked well though but not the most comfortable. Overall. Loved the place. Nice facilities. Buy stuff to make breakfast of pay $10

Nice hostel.

Nice walk to Gamla Stan. Helpful staff. Clean, pleasant facilities. Suggested improvement would be a kettle in rooms, exhaust extractor in kitchen. Will use this hostel again.

perfect journey in stockholm

Great location. Near to sodermam which is the hottest place in Stockholm for the night life. And staffs are so friendly and helpful. Furthermore,great garden or park surrounding the hostel is really nice in the morning when you are going out to travel around.

Family, not youth hostel

It was a bit of a walk away from the city center, but was very nice. There were lots of families and a school group staying. This is not like a youth hostel, but was very different.

Nice hotel, close to old City

Walking distance to old city and bus and train station, you can walk from this hotel to all the important things that you want to see, I think it should have more then two stars, we were staying in triple room with bathroom.

Great hostel

Great experience,our family hostel room was basically a hotel room with all amenities except the daily cleaning and free towels and linnen. Great standard,very clean. Really great breakfast buffet at a cheap price. Would definitely recommend!

Det var väldigt varmt på rummet men gick ej att sänka värmen på elementet!? Synd men vi fick sova med öppet fönster!

Good location. Both the room and the kitchen area were very clean. We were there in October, we had the kitchen and dining room more or less to ourselves. There are two kitchens, one is much nicer to sit in than the other.

hébergement correspondant à mes attentes avec les conseils de Natalie à l'accueil car voyageant seule avec ma fille 8 ans et un peu stressée. chambre très paisible pour ma part, sommaire mais suffisant pour 2. cuisine partagée, sympa de rencontrer d'autres personnes. système de frigo à compartiments privés. la cuisine est nettoyée mais les utilisateurs ne sont parfois pas très soigneux et un évier et une plaque de cuisson en plus seraient les bienvenue. environnement charmant et parc à côté. métro à 10 minutes de marche. pas eu le temps d'explorer les alentours.personnel charmant aussi et à l'écoute. sanitaires toujours propres et accessibles tout le temps. et prix super abordable !

The hostel was excellent

Toll ist der Innenhof mit den vielen Sitzgelegenheiten. Es ist alles sehr sauber. Die Zimmer des Hostel sind etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Küche und Kühlschrank sind da. Tolles Früstücksbuffet. Nächste U-Bahn Station ist Hornstull, 5 Minuten zu Fuß. Badeplatz in 10 Minuten zu Fuß

Ruhige Unterkunft, nahe bei der U-Bahn-Station Hornstull, zwei unterschiedliche Frühstücksbuffets, Kinderermässigung bis 15 Jahre. Der Sanitärbereich ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Schöner Garten.

The place reminded me of Pippi Longstocking! The location in this wonderful green wedge that goes all the way down to the water is just lovely. A bit worn but very clean.

Rent och fräsch på toaletter samt duschrum. Gästköket var fantastiskt! Rummen kändes dock lite omoderna men det är väl det man kan förvänta sig till det priset.

Perheystävällinen ja kotoisa majoituspaikka, ei luksusta, mutta erinomainen hinta-laatusuhde. Selvästi vanhempi raennus, mutta siisti ja toimiva. Sijainti ihanan rauhallinen ja lapsille mieleinen leikkipuisto aivan siinä vieressä!

The service is excellent. It is very quiet and very close to the old town. Metro on walking distance. The hostel is very beautiful at the outside and is situeted in an old part of Stockholm. Just very handy place and location

Vänligt och kunnigt bemötande vid ankomst. Rent rum. Fräscha toaletter och duschutrymmen. Bra frukost med bra variation. Middagen, burgaren, satt som en smäck👍

The hostel is in a perfect and quite position. It is surrended by a nice park. Tube station is 10 minutes by walk. We had breakfast (there are two kind of breakfast, we had the small one but it is complete and good quality). We had a shared bathroom, it was clean. We had a great experience.

Sängarna är bra. Det är tyst och lugnt. Läget är bra och finns gott om parkeringsplatser. Personalen trevlig. Dammigt på golven och hittade nötter och pappersbitar på golvet. Blev erbjuden nytt rum men bad dom städa istället, vilket hände först efter ytterligare en tillsägning. Kan ändå tänka oss bo där igen.

Nöjda med vår vistelse i Stockholm o Zinken är kanon! Andra gången vi bor här!

Det var ett jättefint ställe att bo på men i det rum som vi hade så var sängarna sönder. Det var inte så bra. Men i övrigt så var allt jättebra, trevlig och hjälpsam personal.🙂🙏

Rummet var kallt.

Kaikki meni hyvin. Ihan perus siisti ja viihtyisä hostelli/hotelli. Varauksen yhteydessä ei mainittu, että pitää olla omat lakanat ja pyyhkeet ja tämä harmitti. Ei ollut myöskään täysin esteetön hostelli ja se hankaloitti vähän kun meillä oli kahdet rattaat. Muuten oltiin tyytyväisiä.

Överlag mycket nöjd familj på höstlov

Var på höstlovsresa med min dotter (14), vi bokade rum med egen toalett och dusch. Enkelt med bra rum. Plus för TV med inbyggda appar och ChromeCast. Det fanns 2st frukostalternativ, vi valde vandrarhemsfrukosten alla dagar. Den var lite mindre till sin omfattning. Dottern har celiaki men då hon är van vid att hotell ofta har dåligt utbud på bröd så höll hon sig till äggröra och prinskorv, vilka hon gav bra betyg. På kvällarna lånade vi kortlekar och satt ute i receptionsområdet där vi kunde umgås, och de vuxna kunde nyttja de fulla rättigheterna. Läget var utmärkt, både närheten till gröna strövområden och relativt nära till Hornstulls T-bana.

Mycket bra boende och prisvärt . Bra frukost . Möjlighet till självhushåll . Rummet ok . Bra service. Restaurangens middag är inte värt priset.

Helt suveränt

Helt perfekt våra 5 dagar på Zinkensdamm´s Hostel. Prisvärt Super trevlig personal super rent i rum och framför allt duschar och toaletter. Lite lyhört men det får man ta. Vi kommer deffenetivt att komma tillbaka.

Bra läge och trivsamt boende med sköna sängar. Trevlig personal och bra frukost. Enda minuset var att toaletterna var i minsta laget och saknade tvål ibland.

Vi kommer inte tillbaka

Tänk på att det är långt att gå från Tunnelbanan. Själva fastigheten är OK, men dåligt skött. Sämsta sängarna vi varit med om. Toaletterna är av pygmestorlek. Besvärligt och omstädigt med gästkök som inte fungerar och inte speciellt rent i köket häller. Dåligt med förvaringsutrymmen för egen mat. Omständig incheckning som tar lång tid, hittade inte hela vår bokning.

Prima accommodatie als je in Stockholm wil overnachten. Op mooie plek in Stockholm Wij hadden 2 hostelkamers met eigen badkamer, wij konden het verschil niet merken tussen hotel en hostel. Het is handig als je met eigen vervoer bent om een parkeerplaats in de garage van het hostel te reserveren. Naast het hostel mag je nl niet in de nacht parkeren, wat voor ons niet duidelijk was en we dus een forse parkeerboete hebben gekregen. Misschien ook handig voor het hostel om dit te vermelden aan hun gasten.

Överallt var jag nöjd med boende dock var det väldigt stökigt på natten. Högljudda gäster och dörrar som smällde hela natten. Sov inte alls bra pga detta. Å andra sidan bra faciliteter och trevliga personal.

Trevligt och mysigt ställe mitt i stan men ändå så nära vatten och parker. Gångavstånd till allt från restauranger och dylikt. Dessutom relativt nära till transportmedel för den som vill ta sig runt sthlm på ett smidigt sätt.

Koselig vandrerhjem med serviceinnstilte ansatte. Stille og rolig område, kort vei til sentrale områder en ofte vil besøke når en i Stockholm. Sov dårlig grunnet dårlige madrasser. Rommene var litt som å være på leirskole😀 Men det var god plass på felleskjøkkenet med mange sitteplasser og stue. Bare litt mye bananfluer😱

Emplacement sympathique proche du métro et d’un parc. Literie clairement à revoir: matelas en mousse plus qu’inconfortable , alors certes c’est un établissement bon marché pour Stockholm mais il ne faut pas exagérer et proposer de véritable matelas au client. Douche commune: certaines étaient bouchées , donc eaux stagnantes donc dégoûtant quoi.
