Fantatstic place to stay in Rome. Walkable to most of the atractions. The room is great. Fiendly staff
Rome in December
Nice Hotel, Big room, very safe, great Location and good breakfast. The AC works well but a little bit noisy.
Stayed with our family of four and the building was well maintain and the size and quality of our suite exceeded expectation's, great location as well. Very comfortable for our family and having two bathrooms was definitely a plus. The suite was “around the corner from the main check in area” as other reviews mentioned but that didn’t bother us at all. Would stay again!
Convenient, close to all
Small but very clean rooms in such tourist convenient location. Barberini Metro 2 mins away, walkable to Trevi fountain, Spanish Steps and Pantheon. Located on side street so much quieter. Breakfast on 5th floor really nice, offerings excellent. On day of early tour, staff packed us breakfast to go-very appreciated. Staff helpful and definitely good for first time Rome visitors who wants to be close to all the sights at reasonable cost
The staff at breakfast were excellent and super helpful and the property was located in a very central and convenient location. Great shopping in the neighbourhood and could walk everywhere.
Wonderful staff very nice and made us feel at home.
Great hotel in wonderful location
Great hotel in wonderful location
IDEAL location. This is the place to stay. Family of 7 in 2 suites -- it was pricey but great.
Great location, staff, and amenities.
Very pleasant stay.
15 minute walk to all attractions great service great hotel
Within walking distance to everything
We loved staying here.
Great location and clean property.
Grab a room here if possible.
Wow. What an amazing place to stay. Couldn’t believe how gorgeous and luxurious it was for the price, when we checked in my group was nervous that I had accidentally booked one of the most expensive hotels in Rome considering the rooms and location. The room was so large and romantic we were sad to we weren’t staying a week. Nice to have a gym to stretch and lift in too. We lucked out and saw it on sale on hotels.com the night before and I was so glad to find it. Loved it
Wonderful locations and great spacious rooms
Where was the luxuary?
Hotel is definitely misrepresented online. Horrible conceirge, apathetic to Americans. Room was not ready. Then dragged us around the corner, outside of main lobby to another part of hotel. No where was this explained. Suites are not connected to hotel. Room was very warm, included mini bar a joke. No toilet paper & soap, dismal cleanliness. Online pictures deceiving. And, worst of all CONSTANT water noise, flushing, small animal in walls?! Not restful at all. Definitely not a soundproof room. Included breakfast a joke also. Minimal selection, not big enough area to accommodate guests. Staff in general seemed hot & bothered. No white glove service for over $600 a night. Steer clear if you can. Way better options in Rome.
All of it
Perfect
Everyone was very hospitable and friendly. The hotel is well maintained and clean. The room was beautiful and had plenty of room for a family of four. It is close enough to walk to almost anything but not loud at night. I highly recommend this place for anyone staying in Rome.
The rooms were clean and spacious. It had a nice variety at breakfast. It is very close to the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain. Unfortunately, there was no air conditioning the last night and day which was unbearable. They said they were fixing it.
Centrally located, very comfortable stay
Fantastic stay!!!!
The Luxury Suites were outstanding. For our family, cleanliness and good air conditioning are important. The air conditioning was the best we’ve had in our 5 trips to Rome. A cold room is so refreshing on a hot Rome day. We are a family of four and we had a suite we a bedroom and a front room with a pull out bed which was prepared when we arrived. The water pressure in the shower was great and the room was very clean. The location of the suite is outstanding. The location is less than a ten minute walk to either the Trevi Fountain or the Spanish Steps. Breakfast was wonderful and the staff are very attentive. We used the gym on both nights we were here and they had modern equipment that included and treadmill, exercise bike and nautilus weights. We will definitely stay here again when we return.
Fantastic boutique hotel!!
Great service. Suraj was very helpful.
Excellent facility. Great location
Nice rooms, good place to stay.
I don’t like to spend time writing reviews unless it is really complimentary to the experience, but I am leaving a negative review for the first time - not by choice but because my experience was THAT negative. From the moment we checked in, we were greeted by the most unfriendly person at the desk. The most kind and helpful staff were on the Breakfast Floor (P5). Our room was horrible, and our booked stay did not include anything it should have. We booked through Expedia, which I have been a Platinum Member for a long time as a world traveler. Expedia stated that we should have a free upgrade and bottle of wine available upon our arrival. Instead, we were told that the rooms were fully booked without even checking or thinking for a second. The man at the desk even told us that our room was amazing and that we should like it. Not only was that man absolutely unwilling to help us, but he was also extremely wrong. Nothing about our room or stay at Hotel Stendhal in Rome was luxurious. Our room was incredibly small and loud. The room is not at all quiet/sound-proof or comfortable. Rather, the room was dirty, dusty, and echoed all noise from the hallway and street outside. After two nights, we never received any upgrades or our promised bottle of wine. Housekeeping also did not clean our room or replace any of our towels, toiletries, etc. This hotel took all of the money without any service in return. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, and I will not be back.
The staff very friendly, breakfast team guys all very friendly and great selection of food. All the team couldn’t do enough highly recommended this hotel, with it being next to a busy junction there was a bit of traffic noise you have to deal with
High expectations met!
Great stay at Stendhal hotel. The staff is very accomadating and the food was very good. Stayed here 14 years ago and loved it. Although it was pricier this time around.
Overall great stay and great hotel. Walkable to many local area attractions, including Trevi Fountains and Spanish Steps, and the staff was responsive. Breakfast was good, and would stay again.
Excelent!
Amazing property with super staff. Reception, housekeeping, dining room and breakfast room staff provide service that is beyond expectation. This was a return visit to Rome. We would not stay anywhere else! Seeing some of the same staff made our visit more enjoyable. Great area with more than enough eateries.
A great place to stay. Will gladly stay there again.
I would give this hotel a 5 star rating if the elevator had been working for our stay. We came back to the hotel early Saturday afternoon to find it was out of service. When we checked out on Monday, it was still out of service. Walking up and down 4 floors was unpleasant and no one even offered an apology. The concierge service was excellent on check-in and the staff friendly. The breakfast was small but nice. The rooms were comfortable, outside noise was scarcely heard, the shower had excellent water pressure, the housekeeping was spectacular and they kept the mini bar replenished without asking.
One night in Rome
We had a wonderful stay. Rooms were clean, staff was friendly. The breakfast on their rooftop balcony was magnificent.
Great hotel, helpful staff and walking distance from a few of the main sights of Rome.
Stayed here for two nights and we really enjoyed it. We stayed at the luxury suites which is just around the corner of the main hotel. The hotel room was very clean and newly renovated. The bed was not the most comfortable. Just two beds stuck together. Also, this is not anything the hotel can control but since it is in a busy area, the noise makes it difficult to sleep. Otherwise we loved the hotel location. It is close to everything. All the major spots are within walking distance, specifically the Trevi fountain and Spanish steps. The breakfast was actually very good and there was a wide selection to choose from every morning. There’s also lots of restaurants around to choose from!
Worth the stay But I didn’t receive the VIP benefits I was supposed to through my booking.
The hotel is in a very convenient location near the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and Metro. Great shopping nearby. The room was lovely and the staff friendly and helpful.
Great property in a great walkable locale
What a great way to stay in Rome! Fantastic rooms and a wonderful breakfast!
Great location and lovely accommodation
The hotel was in a great location, the staff were all really friendly, especially the waiter that served us breakfast each morning, he couldn’t do enough for us. We stayed in the luxury suites, the room was spacious for the 4 of us. We would all definitely recommend staying at this hotel and will definitely stay again when we return to beautiful Rome
Excellent service! We came in from a cruise early in the morning not expecting our room to be ready. Not only was our room made available hours before check in, but we were provided with croissants and orange juice. We had an early departure the next day and were accommodated with an early breakfast. We truly felt welcomed and valued and would highly recommend this establishment.
Great location, room very spacious. Very friendly staff. Overall great palce to stay if you go to Rome with limited time.
Property was excellent except for someone else’s socks were under the end of our bed. Also, we were in the old section which meant we had to exit the main hotel and walk around the corner and come into a separate entrance. But the staff was amazing! Very helpful! Breakfast was included and really good! Def will stay there again when we come back to Rome.
The hotel is well maintained, clean and very conveniently located in walking distance to many attractions. The hotel staff is very friendly and accommodating. Overall, great experience. We would recommend this hotel to others and will gladly come back when in Rome.
Upscale Luxury Suites were awesome. Rooms were large and well furnished. You can see good housekeeping was a priority. Very clean with adequate supplies. Staff were attentive and responded quickly in a very pleasant way. Being able to have breakfast available on the 3rd floor was an added plus...very nice staff serving. Having stayed in the area of Rome many times...we feel we have found the BEST. We will return!
One word to describe,「excellent」👍
The rooms were small,, dirty smelled like sewerage Breakfast was fantastic and staff was helpful.
The hotel is clean and beautiful and the staff is amazing. I highly recommend staying here.
Comfortable stay in best location
Our stay at Stendhal was excellent. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated. The staff were all very friendly and helpful especially the waiters during breakfast. They had a lot of breakfast options and fabulous pastries. They accommodated us with a nice high chair for our 9 month old and a baby crib. The hotel is in a great location to walk to spanish steps and trevi fountain and a ton of restaurants and shopping. The front desk had excellent customer service and would help us with daily transportation. The only complaint I would say is that they did not clean our room or do towel change for 2 days, but I did not call to request. Also the location is on a busy street to were it is difficult for cabs to drop off and pick up which make it tough with luggage. Other than that we loved our stay and highly recommend it.
Great, centrally located hotel. Rooms modern and clean. Staff very helpful
Perfect for sightseeing
Lovely staff, beautiful room, even better location. A must if you want somewhere central that's great value for money
Outstanding experience
Exceptional stay. The Suite we staid was very comfortable, large, clean, welcoming. There were road works, but the windows are soundproof and we could not hear a thing. Staff was efficient, polite, welcoming, nice. Good breakfast. Only remark was that the Suites are located in a building around the corner, which is a bit inconvenient for breakfast. But the price was a bargain, hence you can live with this. Overall a great stay, in central Rome
Everything was excellent. The hotel was in a great location near Trevi Fountain and the Barbarini metro. Easy to walk to everything from here or you can take the metro and busses. The staff was great and spoke good English. VERY Clean!!!!!! Breakfast is included so that is amazing. Only warning about Rome. When you get to the airport only take the white taxi’s! The vultures outside charged my credit card $500 for a 50 euro ride! Scam! On the return the hotel arranged our ride with no issue.
Stylish hotel in a great location
This hotel has a great location and is close to a metro stop and a number of bus lines. There were several restaurants to choose from in the area and the Trevi Fountain is a short walk from the hotel. My room was spacious as was the bathroom. Friendly service and a nice breakfast.
Great apartment and service if you avoid the noise
Great apartment for 3 nights. Just a shame our room faces into a nightclub opposite that closed at 3am Friday and Saturday night and was quite noisy. Excellent service and breakfast
Hoped for more.
Hotel was okay. Unfortunately next to a disco so was very loud during the weekend. We also had to change Room because they were overbooked. They opgraded us which of course was nice but not convenient when you had to move next day. Used room service once and even in 2 try’s they didn’t manage to deliver what we ordered. Finally when we paid they kept mixing up our payment with the guys who had our room and was the reason why we had to move. So all in all not a great experience.
Decent hotel
Due to a mistake at the hotel, they put me in a single room instead of the double I booked the first night. But they were very apologetic and moved me to a larger room the next day. The room I eventually got was big for Europe and comfortable. But the service was only so-so. Beside the screwup with the room, they seemed overwhelmed by the breakfast service. My reservation was for 8:30 but I wasn't seated until after 9, then was served cold scrambled eggs. And you could not count on a receptionist being at the desk. Often, they were gone and a doorman who was not as helpful took his place. Nice location close to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and the Colosseum.
Amazing location in Rome, close to restaurants, plazas and tourist attractions. Amazing daily breakfast, great size rooms and bathrooms, super clean. Highly recommend if you are visiting Rome, you will not be disappointed.
Great spot for a family holiday
Great hotel in a fantastic location to walk to all of the major sights in Rome. The staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful.
Beautiful room
I stayed in the luxury suites - so beautiful and spacious. The entrance is very modern. Around the corner from the main hotel, it is not an inconvenience to go between the buildings when needed. The location is wonderful. For food, breakfast is the only option but there's plenty in the served continental meal. I'd definitely stay there again
Awesome!
Location, staff, breakfast -- incredible!
Rome is a great place to visit.
The service was great. Room was very good except the smell from the AC was strange, like sewage smell. Internet connectivity was bad. Breakfast was good and staff there like in the lobby simply amazing. It was noisy in since the glass is not soundproof so i had to buy earplugs after night one sine this is busy corner. Location is good.
Great and helpful staff. Nice and comfortable place and good location.
Nice area, plenty of good eats and shops in the vicinity, ca. 500 m from the Trevi fountain. The Spanish Steps and the Pantheon are also within the walking distance
Excellent place.
Room was clean and big bad was comfortable. Free mini bar includes beer Cola Sprite soda and water. Stockings per request. Food on breakfast is very good and includes eggs croisons coffee salami cheese and so on... Staff was very friendly and helpful. Location is great. Overall very recommended. Also good for babies.
Staff were super helpful and it was clean with free breakfast. Great value for money. Great location as well
Had a pleasant stay
Nice comfy rooms
Great place with nice ambience!
Perfect boutique hotel
Super clean! Comfortable beds and friendly staff. Right in the middle of shops and bars. Would highly recommend this place!!
The property is clean, nice and in a good area. The only confusion is : the suites as opposed to the hotel. We thought we were staying in the old charming hotel. Instead we apparently booked the new suites which are around the corner and are like a B and B. It’s new and clean but lacks all the European charm
Overall staying at the hotel was a good experience. The reception manager and all the staff are definitely gracious. The location is super excellent and the room very comfortable. Things that need improvement are a really poor breakfast in terms of supply and quality of food served and unworthy and respectful to this hotel. In addition, there is no air circulation coming in and out of the dining room and the smell that spreads from the kitchen is unbearable (and the noises of the kitchen workers in the kitchen are not at all unpleasant). But probably like anything, nothing is perfect but glad we stayed at this hotel. Thanks
Location location location. Restaurants, shops, train station, popular sites are close. Staff very helpful and friendly. Good breakfast choices.
Great location. Fast WiFi. Very friendly and helpful staff!
Very central, very nice hotel but some noise from the street.
Super clean, great location and service. The rooms at the Luxury Suites are in great condition while the rooms at the hotel are outdated.
Check in an room are at different location No more to add
Weekend in Rome
Lovely room and great breakfast, location very good, Great staff all very accommodating.
First off I would like to thank all the staff at Stendhal for making our stay a 5 star experince. Marco checked us in, and we arrived a bit earlier than the usual check in time, so we were expecting to wait until the check in time. However Marco let us go directly to the room since it was ready. ( A very big thank you to Marco for the wonderful customer service and professionalism). The cleaning staff did an amazing job in cleaning every day. The location of the hotel is very good. I would definitely stay here again when I come back to Rome. Highly reccomended, you wont regret it!
Very good location and a well maintained property. Our room was small for 2 people but it was the least expensive and by mistake, I made a reservation for 1 person. But because the bed is queen size they let us stay without additional charges.
location was great! Room was in the corner and tiny One of the reception staff was very rude!
Great location. Near a subway station, and also just a short less than 10 minute taxi to Roma Termini station. Easy walking distance to Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and Pantheon. Excellent, friendly service from staff. Very well-appointed breakfast. My room was located on inside facing side, I did not hear any street noise even though hotel is on a very well-traveled street. Would definitely stay here again!
Great hotel!
Fantastic hotel! Stay in the new building if you can.
The hotel and staff were wonderful!!! Great location
Loved the suites. Perfect for a family of 4.breakfast included was good. Staff very accommodating.
Great location with comfortable room
I was upgraded to a room at the hotel wing. The rooms’ decor is a bit outdated but it’s quite spacious for central roman standards. Comfortable bed, a good shower. All in all a quite comfortable stay.
Amazing hotel! We checked in for only a night but it was lovely. Will definitely go back
Lovely clean modern rooms. Staff were very friendly and attentive to all needs. Perfect location 5-10mins walk to Spanish Steps and Trevi fountain.
The design of the hotel rooms was excellent, and very smartly done. Relatively newly decorated, felt luxurious and very comfortable. Ideal location within a short walk of Spanish Steps and Trevi fountain. Staff were very courteous and informative, helping with transport and dining out.
Perfect location. Excellent breakfast. Beautiful rooms
Best place!!!!
The hotel is clean, room is very comfortable, service is amazing. The staff is soooooo nice and makes you feel so welcome. The hotel is located in a per perfact location. 5 min from the Spanish stairs, 7 min from the trevi fountain, 12 min from the pantheon and much more. Can't recommend enough!!! Its a must when you're looking for a hotel in Rome!!!
First class! What more can you say? Staff were amazingly friendly and gave invaluable advise about the best places to eat. A weekend break we will never forget. Thank you!
Great Hotel with very helpful staff - Fantastic Rooms & a lovely breakfast. Walking distance to most of the Must Do Attractions/Sites. Would most definitely return to this Hotel upon a further stay in Rome & would certainly recommend to family & friends. We had a wonderful stay!!
Nice stay, great location
A really great location at corner of Via Sistina and Via Tritone. Walking distance to Trevi, Spanish Steps, Borghese, etc. Loads of good food options, the ladies can go shopping crazy in the alleys around Corso. Also barely 100m to the Barberini metro entrance from which you have access to a lot of places. Nice safe area to walk at night too. A good jazz bar just up the road and another one about 1+ kilometre away. Tiber river is not that far and in good weather you can even take a nice 40-50 min stroll to the Vatican, and do some window shopping along the way. They gave us a fairly large room with a decent bathroom. Adequate storage. Despite the room facing Via Sistina it was quiet and I slept well. Security is decent using access card through several doors. Only gripe is the shortage of power points. Only 2 at one wall that is accessible. And no adaptor provided ... Italian sockets are different with 3 inline pins. A 2 pin plug requires some pressure to insert. Wifi required daily sign in which is not a problem, just a hassle. The breakfast table service was excellent with enough cold menu variety despite a lack of hot kitchen. Waiter Marco was very professional, efficient and always pleasant. Overall no real complaints and I would recommend this property without hesitation.
The Stendhal Luxury Suites was amazing! The room was beautiful, location perfect, and the breakfast was fantastic. The staff were welcoming and inviting and made our stay so special. Would highly recommend!
Great central location, we were able to walk to all the sights we planned - Trevi fountain (5mins), Spanish steps(5mins), Patheon(10mins), Colosseum (25mins), Vatican (40mins). All staff were friendly, breakfast was good, and the hotel was well maintained and very clean. My only point is that the rooms seemed smaller than the pictures suggested, may have just been my perception. Also remember as it is so central there is noise during the night (you are in the middle of a VERY busy city) if you are a light sleeper I would recommend ear plugs. Overall a great stay and would recommend and definitely stay again
We had a lovely stay. Our room was clean, large and comfortable. The staff were extremely nice .
Wonderful hotel and the most amazing staff! Spotless room and awesome breakfast. Only thing that was missing was a place to sit outside and have a cocktail.
Great accommodation for families . Good location great
