Everything was perfect

Do not go here the staff lies to you. Was setup and money was conned out of me. Management is extremely rude. This place is unsafe and needs to be removed from all travel websites. Feared for our lives this was the worst vacation resort ever.

The employers who working in hospitality just a great image for the german hospitality of stiegenberger hotels , abdel in Restraunt, kareem, azzazy , amr in reception, ahmed in housekeeping those guys was perfectly splinded.

Good for relaxation

Don’t travel here alone.

Not for solo travellers. Staff and service are focussed on couples sometimes appearing to show a disregard of solo travellers. Once you become accustomed to this the hotel is great. Rooms are very comfortable and the who public areas are spotless.

Everything was outstanding except the half board issue was really irritating I wish management reviewed this I don’t have to hassle for bottles of water or soft drink specially the hotel in middle of nowhere

Perfect for relaxation

Lovely hotel, lovely staff and really peaceful (no kids/discos etc).

If you are looking for a relaxing holiday in the sun or wanting to play golf this hotel could be for you. Small hotel with great friendly staff. it feels like coming home! The golf course is probably the best in Egypt. Well worth a visit and we hope to return next year.

Although this hotel is set some way from the beach it just adds to its appeal. Makadi has and continues to be developed by large (600 room plus) all inclusive hotels. Steigenberger has just 80 rooms and is in a different t class altogether. Surrounded by its own golf course it is an oasis of calm and sophistication. The rooms are large and well appointed with a larger than average bathroom. Separate bath and shower and plenty of storage space. Bathrobes, slippers and tea making facilities along with a large balcony ensure a very comfy stay. The bed is on the softer side and very comfy. The food was good, especially the lunch by the pool. The pool is large and heated. The staff are excellent, always smiling and as helpful as can be. In short, an excellent location for some winter sun, away from the crowds.

Steigenberger Makadi Hotel My wife and I have just returned from a wonderfully relaxing week at this hotel. We are thrilled to have discovered this place on Expedia.co.uk and will return in the future. The Steigenberger Makadi is a medium sized (under 100 rooms) hotel servicing a very good, championship golf course. We don’t play golf but we were attracted to this place because it is surrounded by the links and was therefore away from other hotels and shops making it a quiet and relaxed environment. Added to that there are no children as it is “adult only” and we were very happy.

Lovely hotel, quiet atmosphere and very good staff. If you are a golfer this is a must. If you are not just enjoy the views

Steigenberger Makada - Adults only

A great adults only hotel. Small, classy and civilised, perfect for a relaxing, quiet break. Close enough to town and beach if you want more to do, but far enough away to be quietly exclusive. Sea view room for morning sun, golf course view room for evening sun.

it's very quiet hotel and it's very good for relaxation, breakfast was good with quality food and good varieties, but Dinner was normal and dessert was not good enough. it's good for couples.

Nice hotel and friendly staff

We had a good stay, the place is well taken off and the pool is great. The only downside may be was the desserts and they didn't know whether we need to pay for a lunchbox or not. They offer a complementary romantic dinner by the pool on Sundays and Wednesdays which is lovely. The room was generally clean and seemed just renewed, the remote control batteries were dead and the housekeeping forgot to clean the bathroom on one day. I highly recommend the aqua park close buy, there's free transportation and a nice discount if you ask at the reception.

Boutique Hotel

Well maintained hotel. Pleasant staff in general though some of the waiters need more training. Breakfast was Ok but dinner was horrible in their different themes. The pastry definitely need huge improvement. Good quality for money.

Best stay

The Hotel staff are very friendly, professional and helpful, they were really doing their best to make us feeling comfortable, we really loved our stay in this hotel from A to Z. The service exceeded our expectations. Everything was on time, no delays and as expected. I wish the best for this hotel and the hotel staff, Keep it up, from success to another :) Thank you all for making our stay perfect and unforgettable.

Nice week in STGB Makadi

In general the hotel is comfortable and clean Staff extra helpful, Friendly & accommodating enjoyed the pool, meals, service etc. If I go back to Makadi I will stay in the same hotel and recommend it for friends as well. The only thing to be improved is the WIFI, free wifi is so so slow

I have been in 46 countries and more than 150 hotels worldwide. At least 75 five star hotels and still if this hotel is not the. Eat then it will be one of the best five. Service is amazing, food is exceptional, view is very good and the whole trip was a time to remember

A truly magnificant 5 star golf resort hotel - an Egyptian oasis in the desert!

We knew from the photos and hotel description that this would be a good high standard 5 star hotel but in reality, the quality surpassed our wildest dreams. We turned out to be one of only a very few visitors to the hotel at this time of year. As a result, we experienced virtually personal service at every turn. The rooms were luxurious, with walk-in shower as well as all the modern comforts expected of a modern 5 star hotel. Makadi Bay and the beach were a short 'free' golf buggy ride away - snorkelling, swimming and various other activities could be enjoyed locally without the hustle and bustle of Hurghada town itself, 30 kilometres away. There was a good variety of high quality restaurants which were never full - most of the other hotels having been booked on all-inclusive packages - so no need to book. Indian, asian, italian and a grill were most enjoyable. Breakfast was a feast - freshly prepared fruit platters and omelettes being a regular feature. As for the golf, again we were spoilt by being in off-season. Golf was pricey - US $80 per round - but the course was in excellent condition, well and highly challenging. An 'executive' par 3 course and 3 practice holes were also available to us. Quite simply this was a luxury holiday at a bargain price. Mel B had chosen this well as the perfect venue at which to renew her wedding vows in November 2008!

Wir waren zum 15 mal vom 15.12.-26.12 im Steigenberger Makadi , Personal ist top angefangen von der Rezeption bis zum Gärtner alle sind freundlich und fragen jeden Tag ob alles gut ist ob es Probleme Gibt . Einfach nur Toll

Very nice

Super Hotel, kein nicht zu viele Zimmer - aber sehr freudlliches Personal

Das Hotel ist ideal für Golfer, liegt direkt an einem sehr schönen, hügeligen Golfplatz in der Wüste. Das Personal is sehr aufmerksam und reagiert sofort, wenn man einen Wunsch hat ( auch wenn man als Frau diesen äußert, was in Ägypten nicht selbstverständlich ist). Das Essen ist vorzüglich und abwechslungsreich und uns ist in 19 Tagen kein Fall von Durchfall bekannt geworden ( sie haben eine Hygienebeauftragte und sind dafür auch ausgezeichnet worden). Den Strand ( gutes Shuttle) teilt man sich mit einem anderen Hotel und die Liegen mit Schirmen stehen etwas eng - wie aber auch an den anderen Hotelstränden in Makadi. Der im Winter beheizte Pool ist einfach aber schön. Die Ruhe am Pool ist sehr angenehm.

Outstanding Service. Good quality about food and drinks. It is a lovely place to relax. Older guests, many couples. Perfect time to play golf and enjoy the sun. Eyeryone who has the money I would recommend a suite, here you can really enjoy a nice Sunset.

Best hotel in Makadi Bay

Absolutely perfect stay with the most amazing staff ever. They even made my vegetarian husband extra food in the evening buffet. Gorgeous, variable food in the buffet, warm pool spacious and modern rooms. Definitely coming back!

Only fun for couples

Visited Steigenberger Makadi because I had previously stayed in the Luxor Steigenberger and loved it. I however found out they are two completely different chains and have nothing in common. The biggest plus is that there are no children so you can rest and enjoy without children running around. It was however extremely boring being here alone since the hotel was filled with couples or friends traveling together. The facilities are beautiful and my room was gorgeous, I especially enjoyed the walk-in closet/big bathroom. Staff was very friendly and did their very best to keep me happy and satisfied. I was going through a tough time so I was kinda sad most of the time but everyone did their best to keep me happy. The food was very good and I liked the variety, room service worked well. If I would ever return I would do so with my husband but never again alone, too boring and nothing to do. My favourite thing was visiting the Beauty Salon and going out for shisha one night. Mostly I just hung out in my beautiful room reading my books and enjoying wine. Conclusion... don't come here alone and this place is best suited for couples

Une semaine fantastique avec un accueil chaleureux et sympathique, un parcours de Golf 18 trous magnifique avec une qualité de Fairway et Green au-dessus de la moyenne . Qualité des repas excellent et très varié.

Shabby chic

Die Lage am Golfplatz ist sehr speziell, schön abgelegen und ruhig - ein grosser Pluspunkt. Leider ist das Hotel aber etwas heruntergekommen und während unserem Aufenthalt grassierte der Durchfall unter den Gästen, leider auch bei uns. Ob dieser vom Essen kam oder andere Ursachen hatte (Sauberkeit, Wasser, Sandsturm...!?) liess sich nicht eruieren. Wir hatten eine Suite gebucht, sehr schön gelegen und auch geräumig, aber leider ziemlich abgewohnt (Vorhänge, die fast herunterfielen, verstopfte Dusche, wo das Wasser nicht ablaufen konnte, unangenehme Gerüche aus den Rohren etc.). Das Personal war sehr freundlich und bemüht, einem alle Wünsche zu erfüllen, insbesondere im Restaurant und beim Zimmerservice. Wir haben einige Golfstunden gebucht und können den Golflehrer, Gamal, wärmstens empfehlen.

Meerseite ist nicht Meerblick

Das Zimmer sollte Meerblick haben.Es lag zwar auf der Meerseite,aber leider im Erdgeschoß.Der Meerblick wurde durch eine Hecke und mehrere Palmen versperrt.

Wir waren Golfspielen. Das Hotel liegt direkt beim Platz. Das besondere am Hotel, klein modern, und gute Abendunterhaltung. Sehr freundliches Personal.Alle Std. Shuttel zum Strand.

Hotel mit Golfplatz

Das Servicepersonal ist sehr sehr freundlich mit den Gästen sowie untereinander! Ob es im Restaurant,Swimmingpool Zimmerreinigung ist,egal wo,es wird immer höflich gegrüßt. Exzellente Führung vom Hotelmanager. Top Top,bin weltweit gereist,und kann es daher sehr gut beurteilen,und in der Branche tätig gewesen. Golfplatz ist schwer aber interessant.

Superbe sejour, en suite avec piscine privée

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour au Steigenberger Makadi. La suite a la particularité d'avoir une piscine chauffée privée sur son immense balcon. L'hôtel est situé au centre d'un golf que nous n'avons pas utilisée. L'endroit se prête très bien à un séjour détente de quelques jours. Nous avons apprécié l'accès au sauna, hammam et jacuzzi. Le buffet était varié le soir et le personnel attentif.

Great service, again!

This was our fourth visit. The hotel is nice and quiet, but the main reason we keep going back is the people and the service. Mohamed Reda and the crew at the restaurant by the pool, and the friendly waiters in the main restaurant. And not to forget Yaya by the pool, who is always smiling! Medinet Makadi is wery quite, and there is not much happening in the hotel. If you want a relaxing holiday reading by the pool, this is a good place. If you want loud kids and animation, go somewhere else...

Wunderschönes Hotel mit herausragendem Service

Wir waren zum ersten Mal im Steigenberger Makadi und hatten das Ziel, einen sorgenfreien erholsamen Urlaub zu verbringen, in dem wir uns um nichts kümmern müssen. Und genau so war es. Viele kleine Gesten wie kalte Tücher zur Begrüssung, ein Brillenputzservice am Pool und vieles mehr machten unseren Urlaub zu einem besonderen Erlebnis. Die Anlage ist hervorragend gepflegt und die Staff ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Wir fühlten uns rundum betreut und verwöhnt, ohne uns 'belagert' vorzukommen. Ein besonderes Lob gilt unserem Waiter beim Dinner und Frühstück, dessen Art nochmal besonders positiv aufgefallen ist. Auch mit unserem Golflehrer Gamal mit seiner charmanten und fröhlichen Art hatten viel Spass auf dem Green. Sehr lieb war auch der Empfang/ die Rezeption und unser Zimmerservice. Da weiss man gar nicht, wo man anfangen und aufhören soll, wir sind einfach begeistert und können das Steigenberger Makadi uneingeschränkt empfehlen! Eine besondere Erwähnung soll noch die Küche finden: Das Büffet zum Frühstück und Dinner war von hervorragender Qualität und immer sehr liebevoll hergerichtet. Auch die Küche an Pool und Strand war wirklich wunderbar!

Gutes Hotel, freundliches Personal

Hier gibt es eigentlich keine Überraschungen. Das Hotel ist etwas ab vom Schuss aber wer es gerne etwas ruhiger hat, ist hier richtig und nimmt die 15min Fußweg zum Strand gerne auf sich. Das Personal ist freundlich, das Hotel ist sauber, die Zimmer sind sehr geräumig und hell. Wir hatten ein Zimmer in der 4. Etage zum Golfplatz. Insgesamt sind die Zimmer auch ruhig, allerdings fahren morgens ab 6:30 die Angestellten von deren Behausungen an den Zimmern zum Golfplatz vorbei und das genutzte 2takter-Fahrzeug ist doch ziemlich laut. Der Fitnessraum ist klein und mit dem nötigsten Equiment bestückt. Das Essen ist gut und abwechslungreich (zumindest innerhalb der 6 Tage, die wir in dem Hotel waren).

A five star golf hotel.

The staff are pleasant and helpful (except one cart driver..maybe we need to give him a tip on our first day..?). Our room is very nice ,clean and the beds are very comfortable. Bar and restaurant service is really good. Sitting area inside and outside the bar is really nice and the cocktails are really good.
