Online check in is useless and makes you want to find another hotel. Just go to the lovely staff who are on 24/7
Great value, comfortable and central.
We booked a twin room, which was actually a 6 bed bunk too . This was perfect for us and it had a private shower and toilet. The bed pods were extremely cosy and comfortable, each with individual lights, plug sockets and USB sockets. It was central, close to the train station and quiet at night. The bar and communal area was lovely and drinks very reasonably priced.
Overall, we had a great stay at Steel House! Negatives: - Room wasn't super clean - hair and dust around some places - Be aware that pool costs 25dkk per person, per hour slot (this is mentioned but I didn't find it super obvious) Positives: - Good location, abkut a 15/20 min walk away from most tourist attractions, with buses and train station nearby. Close to both a Lidl and a Netto (similar to Lidl) - Very friendly staff - Great kitchen facilities with fridges - Easy check-in and check-out system
Our family of 4 stayed in a 6 bed dorm with private ensuite for 3 nights. The hostel itself has a great vibe and excellent communal facilities. Nice lounges to relax in. Wifi is great in common areas however dropped out at lot in our room on the 5th floor. Hostel is in an excellent location. The room was a bit tight on storage and hanging space and no floor mat was provided for when stepping out of the shower. Overall an affordable place for a family to stay whilst visiting Copenhagen.
Great location , most of attractions walkable from this property. Staff is very helpful
Great for solo trip
I stayed 3 days. All the amenities were great. Room was bigger than I thought. Locker in the room could store my very big luggage. Bed was cozy. Bathroom in the room had a see-through door. Wifi almost never worked in the room, so I just went to the lobby to use wifi. Walkable distance (in fact very close) to train, bus, metro stations. It was great overall compared to what I paid
Great place to stay!
The beds were super comfy and it was easy to get to all the places we wanted to visit. The 6 room dorms were quite narrow for us all and the toilet and shower rooms didn't lock very well and didn't feel very private. But other than that a perfect stay for a weekend away!
Lovely stay. The lobby bar was awesome!
Not ideal for anyone traveling for more than a day or two. In my opinion, the premises were worn down overall. Our room had trash on the windowsill and the TV was scratched. Expected tiny rooms but not the 4 day wait for cleaning service and only two thin small towels. Design was not as smart as expected as well. If you have an extended stay, I recommend a hotel for ease, service, and comfort. Felt like a cheap airline service, great for the minimal services. Then you get charged for anything else, and not the added value.
Great hostel
Problem with forgotten staff
Everything went fine , but I forgot one jacket & I've reported it. However, it will take 2 weeks untill i receive a confirmation that they have found it knowing that I've just reported it one and a half hour from check out
Staff was amazing.
Average
I checked in near midnight due to a delayed flight. Upon arrival check in could have been easier. I checked in online to try and save time. It seemed like a waste of time. When you walk in there’s screens that say check in. So I tried to. There were two members of staff at the desk directly opposite. I approached them for help. It turns out you need to get a code from them and then check in yourself on the screens. Seems completely pointless. When I got to my room, I put my belongings in the locker, to find it was broken. I was on the 6th floor. I went back to reception and a member of staff offered to help. I went back up to the room to wait. I thought I’ll sit on the bed for 5 mins to relax. When I found a messy bed. Someone must have took it upon themselves to use it. Not the hotels fault but extremely frustrating on my part. I went back to reception again to inform them. They changed me to another room. I finally got to another room on the 4th floor. It was half the size of the first room. It was tiny. I finally got some rest. I had high expectations for this hotel. It looked the part. But I didn’t have a great experience. When I went to have a shower in the morning there was no soap. All the staff were helpful when approached. But I wouldn’t stay again. I wouldn’t discourage people from staying there. I was probably just unlucky.
A great hostel for a budget-friendly stay. The room was clean and well-maintained. The storage lockers in the basement were a lifesaver for holding luggage before check-in/after check-out. A 20-30 minute walk from most of the popular tourist attractions in Copenhagen.
Great place to stay!
Stayed in a double room which was clean & functional and with lots of useful features like plentiful plug/usb sockets. Sound insulation was excellent- couldn’t hear neighbours. Room would have been a squeeze for two, but that was reflected in the price. Nice friendly communal areas which included a bar with reasonably priced wine & sandwiches
We really enjoyed our stay here. We booked a bunk bed room and it had 6 beds for just the two of us. The room is a bit compact but having the entire room by ourselves in a hostel is pretty good. They have lots of activities to do in the hostel. We also opted for kitchen access which was great. It’s located very conveniently and easily accessible to trains and bus stops. I would highly recommend this place and would book the same hostel next time i am here.
Unfreindly front desk...they moved me had to pay for locker ..etc
N/A
The location is good but it get's too loud at night till 3am because of the hotel's bar, NO AIR CONDITION AT ALL THE FACT THAT THE WAEATHER WAS EXTREMELY HOT.
I liked everything, recommend it.
Weird mix of people but clean hostel. If you plan on cooking through the kitchen is a nightmare. Fully equipped but so crowded and zero fridge space.
This was the best hostel I have ever stayed at. The rooms were super clean and comfortable, the en-suite bathroom was always clean and tidy, with a hairdryer, shower gel and shampoo provided like in a hotel. Clean towels and bedding every 4 days provided, and more can be rented very cheap from the front desk. Kitchen access and cooking facilities. Communal toilets, swimming pool, TV room, cinema and amazing lounge area to relax and have cheap drinks! Especially during happy hour. Activities such as yoga, karaoke and live music also made this a super fun place to be. Not to mention the games area including pool free of charge. Staff were so friendly and helpful, checking in and out was so easy. Everything about this stay was 10/10 in my opinion!
Nice but expensive
Lovely and clean ,staff really helpful. Easy access to shops and transports. Good kitchen space to cook own food lovely pool
Good location, felt very safe here. It was my forst hostel stay and I couldn't have been happier
I really love this hostal, and the gym was excellent!
If your coming from the states just know most of hotels don’t have AC. The only down fall of this place is if we wanted to use the pool or gym that was an extra charge so just have that in mind
Coolt ställe som är perfekt för en stor familj. Våra tonåringar gillade det. Mycket prisvärt och bra läge.
Central well equipped hostel
Fantastic hostel in an amazing location. Loved the pool and the happy hour beers. Staff were really helpful and everything was really good value
Lage
No access at edge of bed to go to bathroom during night.
.
Shower was dirty
A lot more facilities than I knew initially. Loved the cinema room.
There was hair, dust, cobwebs, and dirt. Also, the bedding and pillows smelled like moldy towels... as if they didn't use a dryer to dry these items.
It is walkable distance to main attractions and have two supermarkets nearby.
Great vibe
A great vibe to the hostel. Always a lot going on and games to play
Had everything I needed and more. Felt more like a hotel with all the amenities like pool and fitness center. Even has a theatre and game room that I didn't get to check out. Need a bike for the day? They even have that for rent. I didn't get to take advantage of all the offerings though since I was only there for two nights. They also have events, happy hours etc to try to bring people together. Great vibe in common areas, which there were lots of. Only thing that I found a little irritating was having to pay extra to use the kitchen. Not a lot of money but wasn't worth it for me just to keep an item or two cold in the fridge. Would stay here again if returning to Copenhagen.
Nice place to stay
Great location and staff are kind
Fairly far from the center of Copenhagen, closest to Tivoli. I don’t know what I expected from a hostel if not to be filled with 30 somethings finding themselves in ✨Europe✨. Not the hostels fault that clientele is noisy and often a bit weird, but it is the hostel’s fault that people are jammed into tiny dorm style rooms. Very cramped but manageable if you really need to save money. Hostel is clean and staff is friendly, solid meh overall
Good place as a bace for Copenhagen city stay. People of all ages used the hotel, families, couples , friends.
Great location. Very easy check in, even when we arrived really late. Friendly helpful staff. We upgraded to a terrace room but the room was still so small we could only get in and out of bed from the end. The terrace had a nice view but the area was half coveted in foliage and had dozens on flying insects which invaded the room. Saying all that we still enjoyed our stay.
Although basic rooms had everything we needed for very reasonable price. Loved the bar area and swimming pool. Very friendly, helpful staff.
The hostel is very big with a lot of people and all kinds of amenities. Dorm rooms are quite small but good enough for a few days. The beds are really comfortable and the rooms are quiet. The shower and the bathroom is on suite and closes with a sliding door which can’t be properly locked at least in my room, also keep in mind that the other people in the room will hear everything from the shower/toilet. The check in is quite slow due to the automated check in terminals. You need to get a reservation number from the reception, then queue again for one of the terminals and still you might get a slow terminal.
Our new favorite place to stay in Copenhagen- friendly staff, wonderful community area to hang out in, comfortable rooms, lots going on - yoga, swim pool - located off lovely walking path -convenient short walk to central station and Tivoli
Great vibe.
Excellent service.
fourth trip to the Steel House, location is just perfect for all areas of copenhagan
Low coat stay
The staff are nice and helpful! The atmospheres was good and feeling free that you can serve your self with everything. The lobby were always so lively that people enjoyed their drinks, playing card games, cooking or chatting with friends. But one thing that out of expected was some facilities need to pay before use, such as Kr 20/person/ hr for using the swimming pool; Kr 20 to get a pass to enter the kitchen and it also need to pay for luggage storage. Actually, the booking information only showed the hotels has those facilities but doesn’t mentioned it need to pay extra money to enjoy these facilities.

Amazing
One night stay in Copenhagen and this was great location with good staff and services. Walkable area and train station one block away
Really liked it here! The rooms are small but very clean and modern. Nice common rooms and good location.
Good value in prime location
Clean, good location, nice atmosphere, nice staff, happy hour, readable breakfast options, comfortable bed
Very helpful staff.
Good
Best parts - really great price, modern facilities, central location, comfortable bed. The room was small but idk how you can complain about that for the price Worst parts - super super dusty walls and shower, room was absolutely freezing to sleep even with the thermostat turned up to full Not perfect, but would 100% stay again for the great price and location
Easy check-in, friendly staff, very clean, fun atmosphere.
One guy needs to be disciplined or fired.
The key cards stopped working for the kitchen. When I asked for help the guy with a sparse beard and tattoos implied I was lying to avoid paying €3 fee. That was uncalled for.
The Steel House offers comfortable and affordable accommodation in a very convenient part of Copenhagen. Our room with ensuite had a lovely outlook and beds were very comfortable. Staff were friendly and very professional. The lounge areas and other amenities are also exceptional.
City Break
Overall it was good. Size of the room was very small but cosy given there were 4 adults with very little room to move around. Bed was comfy and the hostel was warm and friendly. We would recommend.
A fantastic property! We stayed in a private double room with a terrace, and whilst the room was small, it was clean, comfortable, and quiet! The accommodation has a pool, cinema room, cheap bar, and lovely lounge area. Great location too, within easy walking distance of the city. 10/10 would recommend this property.
Price and location
Wasnt far from central station definitely walking distance. Close to Tivoli which is a must go.
Good stay, overall. Place is trendy and vibrant. Clean and well maintained. Easily accessible to the metro (about 250m) and Tivoli (about 1000m). Know that there are nominal fees for services like luggage storage, swimming pool, gym. There was a fire alarm during our stay that literally had smoke in the hallway when we came out of our room. The staff didn't seem fully prepared to manage that situation and exit seemed a little chaotic. As always, know your exits in case you have to make it out on your own! We'd stay again.
Great facilities
Great facilities in common areas for travellers, however we found the double bed room extremely small with little area to stow suitcases or even to move around. The bed was comfortable and ensuite a reasonable size. Good proximity to train stations.
A great team and good vibes at Steel House. The Double Room was not so clean though - massive ceiling cobweb, two carpet beetles, hair, and the spaces under the bed could really benefit from deep cleaning. And even for Copenhagen, the room is overpriced for its size, which is kinda like a cruise ship cabin. I loved the lobby area and team, they were all really friendly and helpful.
Incredibly worth the price. Staff are friendly and efficient, check-in and check-out was easy, and facilities were beautiful, well-designed, small but convenient. Loved that they had a guitar for guests to use, a coffee house area, as well as a working space, and a restaturant area. Community events were well-advestised and helped guests visiting Copenhagen for the first time get involved and meet new people. Paid kitchen access was cheap and useful for those with food allergies, with enough utensils and cutlery, good stove and storage space, lasted for the duration of my stay, and definitely worth it since eating out is expensive in Copenhagen. Some families wih kids were cooking up meals there along with singles, students, and it was a really homey feel :) Music in the lobby at night may not be a good fit for small children or babies, but the rooms themselves were quiet and no music could be heard. Bathrooms could benefit from a provided bathmat to keep the area cleaner. Lockers in room had option for guests to use their own padlock or buy one from the counter below. Would suggest adding flip-flops and umbrellas to the list of items guests can purchase from the hostel. Would stay here again :)
Great place to meet people. Not far from transport.
The staff was nice enough but the property was dirty. The bed and sheets smelled like urine and the window sill was dirty
Hot,dirty,stinky,noisy,and no privacy curtains.
Sebastian, Chili, and the gentleman with the beard at front desk are excellent, super friendly, customer service ambassadors for Steel House. Great service from them all. -Rooms are sweltering hot and there is no AC (falsely advertised). -Probably the narrowest dorm room I’ve ever stayed in. Seriously, Japan hostels have more wiggle room than this place. -Crazy loud at night time. One night the party on the sidewalk raged until 6am. Don’t expect any sleep. -Terrible wifi. Didn’t work at all in the dorm or even in the lobby half the time. -Everything here seems like a cash grab. Need an extra towel? - you pay. Want to go for a swim? - you pay. Want a coffee? - you pay. Want to store your bag?- you pay. Want to visit the gym? - you pay. Need a lock for your in-room locker (which is so small it doesn’t fit most standard backpacks anyways)? - you pay. The list just goes on. Why not just base your room pricing guide with most of these things included? If you did, it wouldn’t appear to look like you are trying to take advantage of backpackers and other guests during their stay in Copenhagen. I wouldn’t be surprised if this place starts asking for a gratuity each time you ask a question. At least the drinking water was free. -There are toddlers running around. Seriously, 2 or 3 year old kids. Definitely concerning to see practically babies hanging out in a hostel, right next to large, unknown groups who are drinking and partying. -Left a day early, terrible!
I stayed with my wife and kids and we loved the hostel. It’s not like the hostels from my younger years. The rooms are clean, comfortable with private lockers for your stuff. The staff are friendly and helpful. There’s laundry and a great gym, pool and kitchen to cook your own meals. Good mix of young families, solo travellers and couples who were staying there too. We’d stay again!
A great hostel in a good neighborhood
This was my first time staying on a hostel. This place was very clean and offered lots of amenities. The room itself was small but when on vacation im not in the room much. The staff was very friendly and helpful. If you are a solo or budget minded traveler i would highly recommend this place when staying in Copenhagen.
Great family stay at Steelhouse!
Great stay wife a family vacation in Copenhagen. As a family of five, the private room was perfect - the kids loved the sleeping pods! The facility was clean, with lots of amenities that you can pay for. The location was convenient for all that we wanted to do.
The possibility of storing luggage is a very good point in favor!
The beds while comfortable had no curtains for privacy. My bed was also taken up by another guest and i was asked to take the bed bunk facing the toilet/shower which is noisy and also bright due to light from the shower/bathroom.
This was a great place! I felt very comfortable with myself and my girls. It was clean, comfortable, has lockers in the room if needed, bring your own lock. A variety of people. Check-in was super busy as we got there at 3, but plenty of people to guide through the process. Very helpful staff. I highly recommend!
Really enjoyed this hostel. Safe, and fun atmosphere.
Nice hostel with a great kitchen
Our stay was very nice. The room was clean and comfortable. My favorite thing about this hostel was the kitchen. It was clean, with great equipment. We saved so much money, because we could cook our food in the hostel. We were happy with our stay.
An affordable place to stay with your family in Copenhagen. The rooms are small but quite nice.
Everything was well run.
I have stayed in several hostels; this one is the premiere!
The room we had was a little small for a family with kids, my carry-on wouldn't fit in the cabinet. You had to pay to use the kitchen room (a one-time fee for your state), for the pool, laundry, and gym were chargeable every time you use them.
This easy going hostel is quite good but just the room was too small for us. Luggage storage was also expensive for us. 2 check bags and carry on 135 dkk and the locker system was a bit of a hassle. It was pretty noisy in the common areas but you couldn't hear any of that in your room so slept ok. Location is great to walk to the train station and city attractions.
Clean, Fast, Practical and Welcoming
Steel House was amazing! The rooms were clean, the interior plan of the hostel was pretty decent; modern, practical and welcoming. I especially liked the beds, you have a lot ot personal space when you’re on the bed, which is hard to achieve when you’re in a shared room. The kitchen access is a life-changer especially for when you’re on budget. The staff was so friendly and very helpful, beds are comfortable and convenient. I really enjoyed my stay in Steel House, will come again!!
Full-Service Hostel Feels Comfortable
This hostel does a good job of making you think you have a bit of privacy in tight quarters. They really went above and beyond when I had a problem. I liked the 24-hour availability of food, although the breakfast combos left something to be desired.
Top hostel
Best hostel I've ever stayed in. Free towels. Nice bar area with reasonable prices.
Super hostel
Super hostel!
A nice place to stay with kind and helpful staff able to communicate with me in English. Clean, comfortable, and felt safe.
We understand that it is a hostel but there was no closet, drawers, a rack with 3-4 hangers at least for storing clothes. We had to put them on the bed, or on the floor on top of our bags like animals. There was no hot water for the shower in the mornings. Our room was so small, the mattress while comfortable was basically shoved in between two walls so we had to crawl from the foot of the bed and back everytime to get on or off, which was uncomfortable. The light situation was weird as to how the lights turned on and off, while you were in the shower..or if someone got up in the middle of the night, the lights stayed on for a few minutes and woke the other person up. The staff was courteous enough if you went out of your way to ask them a question but didn't seem overly friendly. Down in the storage locker rooms there was no table anywhere and as we had to organize our things while putting them in/and taking them out of the lockers , we and to put everything on the floor. Overall I'd give it a 5.5/10
Nice hostel, terrible acoustics
Nice hostel with great design and facilities, but terrible acoustics - there is a night club directly opposite which kept us up until 3am two nights running because the windows are not good enough, and every time someone in an adjacent room opens/closes a door you hear it louder than if it was in your own room.
Great place to stay in Copenhagen. Easy access to public transportation and attractions.
Great budget option
A lovely hostel, well run, clean, with lots of activities, nice staff, and a great location.
Generally great place to stay
Great hotel & conveniently located I was in a private room & the only negatives were ..shower didn’t drain & kept overflowing & the auto bathroom lights kept turning off when I was in the shower!
dobra lokalizacja , atmosfera
We were very impressed by this luxury hostel. We didn't plan to spend much time here since we were mostly wanting a location centrally located and close to the train. The staff was very kind and helpful, check in and check out was easy, it was safe and secure as well needing key cards to get in the building later and also for the elevator. They had a cafe with good food, served beer and wine, had a coffee bar as well. They also had events at the hostel the week we were there such as a walking tour, pub crawl, live music, karaoke (that was our favorite), trivia night etc. There was ample space to hang out and socialize. There was a game room, theatre room, pool, and shared kitchen if you choose to make meals. I would recommend this hostel to anyone traveling to Copenhagen, exceeded expectations!!!

Very Pleasant for a Hostel
It was our first time staying in a Hostel. It meet all our needs for a one night stay in Copenhagen. Warm, comfortable, quiet, plenty of room.
