Amazing staff!!
Very clean and super friendly staff! Pet friendly and the pet amenities are SO cute!
Loved
Fun place to stay. Lots of amenities and super friendly staff. Excited to return
The property itself is 10/10; it's clean, and the staff is very friendly. However, the surrounding areas have homeless people walking around, making it feel unsafe at night.
Easy check in on line
I was disapponted in my recent stay at this hotel. I had intially booked a 1 King bed (Celebrity room). Upon my arrival, I receive a text notification for early check in. While attempting to check in via their website, I saw that I was reserved for a "Starlet room (Queen size bed)". I decided to wait until my arrival and do a check in person. I explain to the desk clerk That I booked for a Celebrity room and saw "Starlet room (Queen Bed)" in my check in notification. He assured me that "It will be taken care of". Once I arrived to my room, I was under the impression that I was in the celebrity room. It's a small hotel and most of the rooms look exactly the same, only way you can tell the difference is by viewing each room on their website. I didn't realize I was in the Starlet room until I reviewed their website right before check out. I didn't have time to address the matter because I had a flight to catch and disputed my issue with Expedia. The hotel refused to give me any type of partial credit for the incovenience, I will never stay here if I visit SF again. Thank you Expedia for giving me some onekey points.
The staff was great, but the area where hotel is located was not.
Staypineapple is a good place to stay for an overnight visit. The rooms are tiny but clean.
Love, love, love that hotel!
The stuff was super friendly, the rooms were super cute and clean. The bedding was so comfortable!!! I will definitely stay again.
Good stay
It’s an ok hotel - clean and nice, in an older San Francisco style. Comfortable, small rooms (as is typical in the area and type of classic hotel building)
I loved being received with a glass of wine and the security of having locked entry. Beautiful lobby and rooms are comfortable. Unfortunately, the bistro downstairs "Is now closed" so there are no dining options. We took the BART from SFO, and after dark the area is like any metropolis (LA/NYC) with homeless and sirens at all hours of the night. Nothing we aren't used to, but not recommended for families with young children unless you are taking an Uber everywhere. There are a few night coffee/breakfast shops in the immediate neighborhood. Overall, great hotel in a cool location.
This hotel was a good fit for a quick stay in San Fran. I spent two nights here with a friend. We had everything we needed to get us through our short trip. Thomas from reception gave us almost a whole bottle of wine for free when we presented him with our complimentary drink cards. He was awesome! My only complaints would be confusing charges that come out of your credit card or account before you arrive and not at check in/out, and a confined, noisy room when next to the busy street. Overall it is a good hotel. Definitely seems to be an adults only kind of vibe though!
Wonderful!
Wonderful, adorable, boutique gem! Great attention to detail, tasty cookies, still & sparkling water refills, bikes! Dreamy beds, plush towels & robes, clean and well-designed rooms. Extra special touches like comp. champagne for our event! Loved our stay! Thank you, Pineapple! *Prefer lower amenity fee, but otherwise and excellent stay!
Was ok. Not sure what all that rave is about.
Wonderful Stay
Great location, lots of walkable places around. Room was comfortable. All the employees were really nice and helpful. Thomas G was especially awesome. He gave us good recommendations, was very helpful with questions and I witnessed him dealing with a very tough situation with another guest with a great attitude.
Nice place to getaway for a weekend. Staff were very friendly and responded right away. We appreciated being able to get around without a car.
We arrived early with our bags and they were able to get us in the room a little early. Very friendly and accommodating
Stay at pineapple
The rooms are super cute and extra cozy! It’s a busy street but lots to do if you want to sightsee! Front desk staff was amazing and they offered comps upon Check-in
Close to Union Square
Although the hotel is 5 minutes away from Union Square by foot, we wouldn't consider the area to be great. It was a rather noisy neighborhood. However, the reception was clearly recently renovated, so the atmosphere inside was quite nice. We stayed in a Drama room, which had a corner bed, but apart from that was small, with old windows which didn't open for ventilation and therefore suffered from condensation after every shower. The AC, while noisy, was capable of adequately heating the room. No restaurant or bar available at the property.
Beautifully decorated and cozy rooms. The location was also great.
Very clean and elegant
My syay was great.
We loved the theme and pineapple deco, it was unique and cute.
Nice room. All very clean. Great location. Weird that the bar area was closed.
Great quirky, fun hotel
We were in town for a quick mid-week get away and to see a show. Staypineapple is a fun and quirky hotel near Union Square. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Rooms are smallish but is you have stayed in SF, you know that this is pretty standard. Cookies were served in the afternoon, and it was a fun perk (and delicious.) No parking but garage next door was easy to use and at an expected rate. LOVED the individual duvet bedding or as the hotel calls Naked bedding. Our room was right by the elevator and it was not noisy. We were happy with our stay and would definitely stay again.
..
I arrived a couple hours early but the staff was really helpful and held my luggage and stored a bottle for me as well. The staff was welcoming every time I entered or left. Clean room and the bed was comfy.
Decor was awesome, eco friendly, lobby inviting and comfortable, staff were all friendly & welcoming.
So loud, just an expensive party hotel.
There was a night club 10 ft from my window that went til 2:30am & the room to room noise was pretty bad, you can hear people partying thru the vents & huge door cracks. Don't expect to get any sleep before that club shuts down. The bar was closed on a Saturday afternoon/evening. The hotel does look nice & the staff were friendly & helpful. The only hotel I've stayed in louder than this was in Tijuana.
Disappointing Check-in
We stayed at Staypineapple for four nights. Check-in was at 4pm which is later than most hotels. We arrived a tad early at 3.30pm, to be told our room wasn't ready - fair enough. We said we would be back at 4pm - it was closer to 5pm when we returned, and our room still wasn't ready. It was finally 6pm when we were able to check in. Meanwhile, I counted at least six other parties checking in while we waited - including two who checked in just after us at 3.30pm. We were offered a complimentary drink - red wine in a can! I would rather check-in to my room on time. It was also disappointing that the bar / cafe was completely closed (shut down). It's a shame that the check-in experience was so bad. Everything else was great - room was perfectly clean and beautifully presented and the staff were helpful and friendly (no point blaming the person who checked us in for the room not being ready, but management should sort the staffing levels of their housekeeping team).
Great experience!
We were at this property about six months ago and really enjoyed it, so just booked it again. It's changed, and not for the good. The bar/coffee bar/snack bar in the lobby has been closed. It used to have breakfast and it was fun and relaxing to sit in the lobby and start the day. Now you have to buy vending machine type products through the front desk. The windows in our room were so dirty you could barely see out. I doubt that we will go back until they get the property brought back up to speed.
Little slice of heaven
Honestly one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. The staff were friendly, the amenities were a nice touch and the room we stayed in (while a little more compact than what I’ve encountered) was perfectly comfortable. I regret not getting the names of the front desk attendants so I can’t thank them personally but they were all accommodating and helpful when I had any questions. Usually when I go traveling, I buy water bottles to last me throughout the trip so I was pleasantly surprised and thankful the hotel had a water bar and complementary bottles of water. The room stay was the most comfortable I’ve felt since I started traveling. I always had a great night sleep - even if I slept at a later hour, I woke up at my usual time and completely refreshed.
Wonderful ambiance
First off, I wanted to adore this hotel and I would have if : it hadn't been so noisy ( ventilation/ac was terribly noisy constantly) please please repair this. Outside noise was absolutely terrible ( this isn't from the hotel - but hotel could stand yo have better insonorisation) Hotel is in a really bad part of town, however it is very central and easy to use public transportation and there are great restaurants around. Loved the decoration, the smell ( pineapple of course) the eco-friendlyness of amenities ( including a complimentary reusable bottle that vould be used at the water bar) loved that there were 2 duvets for one bed ( scandinavian style) but would have liked flat sheets as well. Staff was super friendly and there is a lovely welcom drink ( wine, beer or non-alcoholic beverages)
Our room was not available for 1 hour past checkin. The hotel is clean and beautiful. The staff is very accommodating and friendly.
I loved the vintage feel of the hotel. Music ambience and many warm gestures to their guests while staying. Thankyou for an incredible experience the day before open heart surgery
Pleasant PineappleStay 🍍
Our first time staying at this hotel for my husband’s birthday. It was pleasant. The rooms are clean and it smells nice. 😊 There are only a few things to keep in mind when staying here. Parking can be an issue, you will need to use any parking garage near by. Most do not let you come and go, so once you leave your vehicle at the garage, it stays there until the end of your trip. If your parking garage is far away you’re gonna have to Uber yourself back to the hotel or walk. Secondly, there are no ice machines on every floor. If you want ice, you’re gonna have to remember to ask for a bag at the front desk or you can call the front desk and room service can bring you up a bag. Lastly, the rooms do not have microwaves so if you wanna reheat any leftover food, you may have brought back to the room with you. You’re gonna have to go to the main lobby and reheat your food there. All in all are stay was very pleasant and we enjoyed it! 💜
Great place!
Quick one night stay
Had a great time. The only issue is the neighborhood is a little rough. Parking was about a 5 min walk to a secure parking garage.
Wonderful rooms, but there’s a club under the hotel that plays loud music from 11am-11pm. The second day we couldn’t hear our TV over the bass. We were not warned prior to our stay when I’ve had much cheaper hotels warn me if a teen soccer team is staying. After complaining, they said there was no room that could avoid the music and they had no control over it. We couldn’t stay. The desk staff said they’d refund the entire stay so I was happy. However, after several days they said they couldn’t and only refunded one night of the original 3 night stay. Love the hotel, hate the club and lack of guest consideration. Lost sleep and money.
They truly set the example in hospitality!
I don’t know where to start so I’ll start with the most impressive part: Thomas at the front desk! We booked one night following a 15 night cruise and check in was standard 4pm. We originally were not expecting to be off the ship until noonish but plans changed and at 7:30am I called to see if early check in would be a possibility (not expecting it to be.) He said come on, he’ll put us on a list but we could at least check our luggage to go explore. We arrived at 8:50 & Thomas greeted us with a smile & room keys! The property is everything the photos show and then some. You get complementary drinks (alcohol or coffee/tea/sodas and a refillable water bottle in your room. The rooms are small (expected!) but everything we needed even having 4 suitcases from said long cruise. The shower was gorgeous marble and incredible water pressure. The towels and bedding were so soft and heavenly. I’m now obsessed with a European Duvet & you will be too! As a hospitality industry worker I appreciate every little detail when it comes to making a guest feel welcome or at home in any situation and Stay Pineapple WILL ALWAYS GET MY BUSINESS! A+++ 10/10 stars AND it is affordable!
The hotel itself is beautiful with great staff and cleanliness. The cookies tasted great and the design of the hotel is lovely. However, a few issues outside the hotel. First the bar next door 620 Jones has a rediculously loud base (to the point where the windows were shaking) so either a deal needs to be struck with them to reduce the noise or staypineapple need to invest in sound-proofing. Also, it did feel unsafe at times when stepping out on to the street, but as long as you headed in the right direction, you get to union square quite quickly and it feels safer. Overall the hotel itself is a great stay!
Always enjoy the StayPineapple experience. This was a great location, just a few minutes walk to Union Square. The cruiser bikes were a fun way to explore the city.
Best place to rest
Incredible hotel. Amaizing location and especially bed comfort.
Really enjoyed my stay overall. The staff are so great and although the rooms are tiny the place is historic and has a special feel to it. Really loved the bikes and took a ride down to pier 39. The location is close to the harbor. You can tell the staff really care about offering a quality experience. You do have to pay to park off site which is a consideration.
Hidden fees…
Checked us in. Said everything was “good to go.” They gave us free drink tickets to use at the bar. Came down to the bar only to find out they didn’t actually have one…. Then got a call 5 mins before we left and were told “hey, you owe us money. You have to come pay a fee we didn’t tell you about when you checked in.” What a terrible way to send us on your way. $48 “resort” fee they they never told us about, and then begged us to pay on the way out the door. Stay somewhere else. It’s also in a pretty rough neighborhood.
Clean, bed is very comfy definitely I will come back
Alas the elevators out of order on arrival, room was on 7th floor :-( Staff were great, but even so. Also slightly odd encounter with truck driver randomly parked outside, seemed suspicious. Room was good though, comfy.
Great place and location
The room smelled like sewage, the business next door was extremely loud and i couldnt sleep 2 nights. The guy at the front counter was rude. The ceiling had sagging paint and was cracked.
Courteous staff
Elevator was broken, had a great room! On the 7th floor.... but the amazing staff helped with the bags!
Na
This hotel is absolutely beautiful! The front desk staff were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of the surrounding areas in SF. I’m looking forward to visiting again.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable. Rooms are extremely small . We did not get the room we had reserved due to HVAC issues . Was given a discount off our room. Elevator was broken which was difficult to carry our suitcases down from the fourth floor
Lovely hotel, very clean, convenient location. Staff was so friendly and kind! Definitely would recommend.
Hotel was well furnished and room well equipped. Lift was not working for much of our stay, which was a problem as we were on the 4th floor and are senior citizens. Communication difficulties at time and we found the complimentary coffee was cold and the milk curdled.
Friendly and helpful staff! Loved the welcome drinks and overall atmosphere of the hotel. Only bad thing was the location where a lot of homeless people can be found outside, but the hotel itself exceeded my expectations.
Great atmosphere and location. Stay was friendly and helpful.
Staypineapple Resort has a charming and unique atmosphere with a focus on comfort and playful design. The rooms are well-appointed, clean, and cozy, making for a pleasant stay. The staff is friendly and attentive, adding to the overall positive experience. However, I don’t understand why they charge a resort fee, which feels unnecessary given the standard amenities provided. Additionally, they charge for parking, which seems excessive. While the resort has many positive aspects, these extra charges detract from the overall value.
I love the pineapple!
This is my second time staying at the pineapple. My boyfriend and I got a room, and our other couple friends got a room. When you walk in you’re greeted with a warm welcome, you are provided with a refillable bottle of water and two drink coasters that you can redeem for a drink on site. It’s great! But really why I came back and why I’ll continue to come back is because the beds are just the best thing ever! Sooooo comfy. I love the pineapple!
This hotel is very nice. Clean and comfortable and I absolutely love their shower. Great experience overall.
Best of the best
All time favorite sf hotel. It’d gorgeous, super clean, the absolute best stall ever and the beds! I’ve never slept as good or comfortable anywhere as I do at the Pineapple.
The hotel itself was good but the surrounding area makes you feel unsafe, unfortunately.
Amazing experience, would more than likely stay at their location again
Great hotel!
OVERALL: Great stay, I'll stay there again. PROS: Pineapple theme gives hotel a fun, distinct personality. Room was small but well appointed, comfortable, and modern. Appreciate the coffee-making supplies (and the half-and-halfs waiting in the fridge). Gorgeous main lobby. Friendly, helpful staff. Lots of restaurants within a few blocks. Easy walk to Union Square, comfortable 20-minute walk to Moscone Convention Center. CONS: The neighborhood around the hotel (about halfway between Union Square and Tenderloin) has become somewhat run-down, and while not generally unsafe, it does have many homeless living on the streets, which did make me uncomfortable. That's not the hotel's fault, just a sad fact of the city these days.
Great place to stay with your pets and friends treats for them
Love the theme!
The staff was very friendly. When I checked out the person helping me seemed annoyed when I was asking questions.
I love this place but this time our room was not cleaned thoroughly. Damp rug. Hairs on bed. Conditioner dispenser empty. And the area is right in the edge of the Tenderloin of course so, not great. But the staff, service and facilities are outstanding!
room is small and environment is unsafe
Liked- The pineapple/ yellow theme of the hotel. I liked how everything felt upscaled, clean, and the staff was very friendly. Didn't like- I had to move out of my room because the air conditioning stopped coolong the next day. I was refunded the some money for the inconvenience,; however, i didnt like the next room as i liked the intial one. Also, there are no ice machines on the floors, so it too forever for them to bring me ice. Around the hotel also had many homeless people; and was dirty.
My husband and I did a 1 night stay in San Francisco. I was a little hesitant when I saw the name of the hotel. But the hotel was great, amazing staff beds were comfortable. Would stay here again. The only thing that was a negative is that the hotel has not GYM. Otherwise great stay.
A little disappointing from a platinum member
The hotel was fair. I was not recognized as a VIP so I got no upgrades at all. I asked later that night and the night desk attendant said it was in the system and offered some drinks which was kind. He said they should have given me another room but I didn’t want to move at 10pm when I was leaving in the morning. Overalll, a little disappointing
Room was nice, clean, bed was comfy. Only had one set of towels, I get it “sustainable”. Bar is no longer open and they should dislocate that and stop advertising it. Breakfast is weak, I mean they could offer better options. Neighborhood is trashy, literally and dope heads around the property are wild so wouldn’t recommend it if you have children. Across the street is perfect if you want to party and drink, I know I did and was nice to be able to walk back easily. Other than that, decent stay but won’t be back.
Thank you for your service
Hotel for Madonna concert
Fantastic Hotel we used it to go to a concert and it was an enjoyable experience
Overprice
Loved it
This hotel was super cute and unique. I loved everything about it. They give you pineapple cookies and the rooms are small, but super unique. The bathroom is gorgeous everything about it was so freaking vintage and cute. Great photos spots on the outdoors makes you feel like you’re immersed in the city , super cozy, the bed is amazing, outside it’s a little bit of a rough area, but the hotel sets it all apart. Definitely will stay again.!
My stay was very nice, and the hotel staff was very accommodating and friendly. Would recommend
Everything was perfect
.
I have to say it was an excellent bargain for SF. Would stay again.
Loved the hotel lobby. Our room was small and charming. We did find it a bit noisy at night especially as one of the two windows didn’t close. We asked for that to be fixed and it wasn’t. However, the hotel did give us a discount for the inconvenience, which was appreciated.
The property was great. Parking is just a short distance away. The room was cozy. I would stay again.
A beautifully renovated, elegant hotel, in the heart of San Francisco, conveniently located near Union Square where the hop-on-hop-off bus comes regularly. Several excellent restaurants in easy walking distance. Spotlessly clean with excellent staff to help wih every need. Highly recommend .
Yesha is the best at StayPineapple!
Yesha was AMAZING! My family and I were craving a particular cuisine and she went out of her way to not only make sure we got what we wanted but that we enjoyed it! This type of hospitality is so rare these days. This is my second time staying there and each time the service has been superb! Highly recommend this place for the aesthetic, service, and location!
We just stayed for a quick overnight. It is safe, very clean, charming and the staff member that greeted us was a delight!
Amenity charge - no parking
The room was nice & elegant with some amenities - An "Amenities" $40/per day charge was inexcusable. It was explained third party hides in advertisements the true rate of hotel stay which is fraudulent. No parking - guests must pay for a tiny matchbox size parking lot next door which is "closed" much of the day. I must protest & strongly feel a portion of my expenditures should be refunded.
No rooms available, inconvenience, no reparations, overcharged
Great hotel great staff!
Beautiful hotel. Had a great stay!
Beautiful hotel 10 minute walk from Union Square.
Nice stay in SF
Nice stay, friendly staff and conveniently located with nearby Asian restaurants around. Keep in mind it is 5-10 minutes near the Tenderloin a rough neighborhood with homeless people but there are a lot of good restaurants around there. The parking is right next to the hotel for $50 overnight valet so not bad. The price is fair compare to many other hotels. I'd stay here again.
San Francisco had to do something about the homeless drug users on the streets - disgusting!
Good location. Friendly staff Limited bar or food. Whole hotel smelt like mild/musty. Stairwells unclean. Rooms small amenity or resort fee a reall simple rip off.

Very friendly staff. The bedding was absolutely amazing! Felt like sleeping in a cloud - or at least what I would imagine sleeping in a cloud would be like. The beverages upon check in was a very nice feature! Would definitely stay there again.
