Little London Oasis
Stayed here a couple of times now and I really love it! Great value, wonderful location and a quaint little neighbourhood location. I love the walk to Farringdon in the morning.
Nice amount of space but needs a bit of TLC. Heating didn’t work in the bedroom, wall was damaged near the radiator in the living room and shower was very low pressure
Correct but fixing needed
Simplistic appartmentbwith one very uncomfortable sofa/bed in the living room The bedroom radiator was falling when the entrance guardrail was torn off It has been signaled the day I arrived and no option for fixing has been proposed The curtains are not solid nor providing sufficient light proy
The check in was a bit of a faff but otherwise the apartment is really good. The location is great, I know this area a little bit and love going back. There is a supermarket very close by and plenty of bars and restaurants. It is a little rough around the edges when you look closely (some plug sockets have seen better days and the mattress could do with an upgrade) but the apartment is well appointed. You could easily spend a few days here and be very satisfied with your choice of accomodation.
Very happy
Lovely apartment, perfect for my short work stay
The receptionist wasn’t responsible to help us to fix problems of the lock on a timely basis. That resulted we stayed outside of the room for 6 and half hours.
Avoid at all costs. Con artists
Old street- Stay Inn It is awful. Avoid it if you can. Once they have your money, thery will avoid you at all costs. They will not respond to problems after that. Persoanlly: Fridge broken Front door knob broken 2/3 lights in the bathroom don't work Shower head filthy with grime and limescale. You don't get much water out due to this. There is no window in the bathroom so there is a lot of mould built up which has gone dark brown and started to bubble. It looks disgusting. Kick plates around oven broken One bowl only One tea spoon only Chairs in dining room about to break all shake when you sit on them and are lively to collapse. Curtains are really thin so the room is fully light for 4.30am Upstairs are very noisey with a thin wooden floor so you hear loud footsteps and the tv/conversations all night. I got no sleep at all. There is a downpipe running through the bedroom so you are woken up anytime the flats run water or flush the toilet. There is an ventilation unit outside flat 3 that will go on and off through the night to keep you up. The pubs outside are okay as most close around 11 so most of the clear up and customers are gone for 12. There is no lift and a pretty narrow staircase so it is not accessible for impaired or disabled but also pretty difficult if your luggage is heavy. The pillows and bed are hideous. The pillow cases were yellow (I believe they started as white!) The hardest part over and above the lack of sleep and hugh volume of dirt is the lack of
I was worried after reading the reviews but was pleasantly surprised. Clean and comfortable. Only recommendation would be the bedroom drawers need fixing but no biggie. Lovely big shower. Lots of stairs to the top floor but no problem if you’re fit. The staff are very friendly
Overall good. Was as described
THEY REUINED OUR CHRISTMAS
My friend booked a 2-day stay so we could visit and celebrate Christmas with friends and family we have in London please bear in mind we are travelling from Essex. They cancelled on us on the day of our booking just 10 minutes after our checking-in time while we were 10 mins from the apartment. There is a heartless racist called Amir we had the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with. Their excuse to cancel on us was they didn’t understand why only two people were spending Christmas together and it looked suspicious. We pleaded and pleaded with them to let us stay as it’s Christmas Eve and it will be hard to find another accommodation but they told us it’s not their worry. Please Take Note we have been communicating with them throughout the week including sending our IDs two weeks prior before they decided to cancel. We asked them if they could increase the deposit as we thought it would help with the situation but the manager Amir put the phone down on us and refused to communicate with us any further. He promised we would receive our refund straight away but that was a lie. We have been chasing for a refund and to add insult to injury they are claiming we are not entitled to a refund. How can that be??? They cancelled our booking and we have the whole conversation recorded and now they are refusing to refund us. Customer service is nonexistent and some of them can’t even speak English properly. PLEASE AVOID BOOKING, IT’S A SCAM. Until now they have refused to refund us
Great place to stay
Lovely place to stay, comfortable, clean, good kitchen amenities and nice restaurants nearby. We were concerned by some of the reviews but there was nothing at all to be worried about. Follow the 3 step process as advised a few days before arrival you will get information and access with no problems. Hold was released on our deposits (2 rooms) with 3 working days. We needed bedding for one of the rooms (booked as a 2 but not a couple and we needed the sofa bed), this was arranged promptly… but if you do need the sofa bed it is worth booking as 3 people. At time of our booking it wouldn’t have cost more and would have ensured the bedding was already there. Really friendly and helpful staff on email / phone.
We waited from 23 till 3 in the morning in the freezing cold. But they wouldn't give us check in instructions. We had to get another hotel.
Ideally located for the Barbican and Charterhouse. Also an easy walk from Liverpool Street Station
Very comfortable and spacious
Great apartment will definitely stay again
Pleasant Stay in a Convenient Spot
Stayed for a (self-funded) business trip Tuesday-Thursday and was pleasantly surprised with how comfortable and well-equipped the apartment is. It is very much self-service - ahead of travel, you are required to send ID / pay a deposit, but having done so the check-in process was extremely smooth. The Old Street StayInn is a short (15 minute) walk from the City, and in a very quiet area - I enjoyed two very good and uninterrupted nights' sleep - and the apartment was suitably spacious, well-equipped and clean to allow me to relax there on an evening, so as to enjoy a leisurely commute into the office the next day! Pret/Waitrose can be found a very short (2 min) walk away. Admin team were responsive on email, and for the relatively low-cost for what is a prime location, I would highly recommend staying here, so much so I have booked again next week for the Aldgate property.
TERRIBLE
Terrible comms and service. Had to hassle the company for all information about my stay. Including repeatedly on the day of check in to get my access information for the property. Upon return to the apartment in the evening found another guest there as they had given us both the same access codes. I have still had no response to my contacts with the company about this incident.
We found the staff very nice and helpful. When we had any queries they were happy to help in a timely manner which made the journey from Manchester much less stressful. The apartment itself was great, kitchen fully equipped which was a bonus. Check in was easy and having a keycode rather than an actual key was more practical. Everything worked fine and it is very central so we managed to walk everywhere instead of taking public transport. Overall, I would definitely stay again and would recommend this place. Thank you for having us!
All good
One of the worse hotels i stayed there’s no elevator i had to take my heavy beg to the 6 floors by the way it’s so dirty inside I couldn’t sleep the whole night
Nice apartment near Old Street Station. Great for family and friends traveling together.
Scammers
Had to chase them to send me the check in details. Was meant to be able to check into the property at 3pm, was standing outside the property trying to contact them - which by the way was near impossible. Didn't get into the property until 3:40 and they said it was my mistake when they hadn't sent the details to me an hung up on me. Paid the deposit but still have not received it after 7 working days
A completely FRAUD
Do not book. Horrendous customer service.
This is the worst place to stay. They lack customer service. Have no idea how to talk to people in general and they book the wrong apartment for you then don't own about being wrong. The apartments are falling apart. I have no idea how they managed to pass that as a form of in one of our 3 apartments that we has for 1 night's stay the plug sockets were out with live wires hanging from the wall the lights didn't work and the heating didn't work. Overall in short I would never recommend to book any of these apartments really not worth the stress of it.
Great location, grubby flat
The location of this flat is great but that's about all it has going for it. When we arrived, the dishwasher was full of dirty plates and there was no tea towel to use in the kitchen. The walls in the living room and bedroom were grubby and paint was peeling off. The lights in the stairwell didn't all work. And 3 days after we checked out I was contacted by my bank's fraud team as Excel had authorised two identical amounts from my account 1 minute apart. So even though we'd been gone for days and left the apartment as we found it, I had £280 being held on my account for their security deposit. I won't be using Excel apartments again.
Comfortable place but lack basic stuff
Location was really good. Property was also good as per the location. Had leakage in kitchen, was not having basic stuff present like utensils washing liquid, toilet roll.
remember Stairs
Getting checked in was super easy and as well as making sure deposits were secure. But what killed me about this place was the stairs. Now, I normally dont have any issues climbing stairs. But when you have luggage, your friends have luggage, it tends to be a bit much when you are on the 8th floor. There are no lifts/elevators for this place, so if you are handicap and looking to stay here, please dont do this to yourself. You will be frustrated with even reaching the first room since you still have to go up stairs. The bed/couch was comfortable, and it was a bonus when we were able to open the windows and have a good breeze roll through the apartment. It was nice to be able to take a quick 2 minute walk to the market/grocery store right down the street to cook a nice dinner too.We ended up having to throw out some of the refrigerated items on the morning of our check out. We had just gotten back from being in Paris and were trying to plug in our phones to charge for the night, and we lost power to the WHOLE apartment. We tried calling the provided emergency line to see if we could have some assistance to get the power back on, after we followed the directions they had listed on the power box to get it back ourselves. We left three phone messages trying to reach someone and an email. There was no response. So we had to take turns in the middle of the night to charge our phones in the hallway where there was still power. Didn't get a hold of anyone till AM.
Great Choice! Great experience!
Great location, good facilities. However the shower was not fully fonctional. Due to a damaged shower head water was going everywhere, and due to a blocked temperature block, water was way too hot. Really hard to adjust it, this should have been fixed before our stay... but other than that it was a really nice stay!
A great pied-a-terre
We used this apartment for one night to attend a wedding, so we didn't spend a lot of time inside it. However, I was pleased with the decor and level of cleanliness. Everything we used worked. The area was quiet and relaxed, while being only a short walk away from busy Barbican and Old St. There are cafes, restaurants and other shops on your doorstep and it is reasonably close to The City and the West End. My only note of caution is the check-in process. There is no check-in desk. You need to pay a security fee (not deducted from your account, unless you incur the fee) up-front. Only once you have done that, you will be sent a PIN code by email which you can use to enter the apartment. You will only be sent this PIN ON THE DAY of your arrival, so make sure you have access to your email while you are travelling.
Overpriced and mediocre accommodation. Incredibly rude and unhelpful staff on the phone. When guests didn't arrive because of flight cancellation they re-let the flat without telling me and locked me out so that I couldn't retrieve the food and wine I had provided for them. When I asked for access to the flat, staff accused me of attempting 'unauthorised access' and then just hung up on me. Appalling behaviour.
Comfortable, great location
Perfect for a business trip! Close to transit, super nice space, good functional wifi and smooth entry. Good place to bookmark.
They request you pay £250 fee when you arrive to release the key. This is not stated before making the booking and they would not refund the room. The flat itself smelt of smoke and didn't fee clean.
Poor
Door into the property from the street was broken (would not lock) and the lights did not automatically come on to navigate to the apartment (nor could they be switched on manually) it was very dark and dangerous to walk through the split level corridors and stairs. They finally come on when you get to the top of the second flight - that’s really no good. Also, the shower was appalling. The main shower head was all but blocked. The hand held could only be left dangling because the mount was broken. Tv did not work properly and there were a lot of repairs and neglect. I believe that all of these things could be easily resolved but it shows a lack of care or interest. It was clean and tidy though which is also important.
Good appartment; small maintenance issues
Good 1-bedroom apartment. Check-in a little be annoying (details send by email last minute, guarantee deposit to be posted online in the morning). Apartment itself good but with many small maintenance issues: light bulbs flickering or broken, door not opening properly, some plugs out of order.
A very nice apartment with good facilities. However the shower needed maintenance.
Spacious flat. Well located. Plenty of places to eat nearby. Choice of supermarkets. Smelt of fresh paint so think renovations in progress. Front door needs a lock. Lights were not working in the bathroom. Shower was missing one shower head so water spurted all over the ceiling. Kitchen tap was loose. One Curtain rail was not fixed properly.
Perfectly comfortable and clean and tidy. Easy to access, details come through later on for accessing (around 2pm) so don't be alarmed if not received before day of stay.
Very bad quality, especially for the price
I rented an Excel apartment no 7. There are no keys in the apartment, but a silver key panel that you use to insert a pin code. It stopped working after the first usage. I couldn't reenter the apartment the next morning as it was locked for me. When I informed the apartment renters about it, I heard that it's impossible and I'm the first customer to mention this. Yet, it was fixed before I came back from the office. Moreover the conditions that the apartment was left in were unacceptable: • Big piece of broken glass left in the kitchen • Hairdryer working for 20 seconds before it breaks due to overheat • Nothing to wash dishes with • Dirty dishes in the cupboard • No soap or anything like that in the bathroom or in the kitchen • Yellow stains on the bed and the bed being so uncomfortable that I had to sleep on the sofa. • The first entrance downstairs is broken and everyone can enter the building. I asked the owner/renter of the apartment to enter it and look at the condition they left it in and for the first 10 minutes of the conversation he was neglecting all the facts by saying "I can't see broken glass in the kitchen' or 'There are no stains'. Really poor service and poor conditions of the apartment, especially for the price a night amounting to 130 GBP. Eventually the service left something to clean the dishes with (still haven't cleaned anything themselves after the previous tenants) and left a small bottle of soap.
Nice place!
Great place and as indicated on the website, clean and spacious. Fantastic location nearby to some bars and restaurants - the tube/underground station - Old Street, is only a few minutes away. I would definitely stay again.
Great location. Good size. Unfortunately there was no hot water and the kitchen table is very unstable.
Good and bad
Good location and apartment very clean. However bed was awful (felt like mattress was broken) and the lock to to the door to the building was broken and a this enabled free free access from the street.
6.5/10
Nice apartment, spacious, clean and felt very homely. Though bed wasn't that comfortable nor were curtains thick enough.
Reasonable for the price. Good location.
Nice. Clean enough. Everything you need.
Nice and central
Stayed here twice now and both times happy with the rooms. You have to give card details for £250 deposit but get it back once you leave. Nice and central for London
Trygt og hyggeligt område
Dejligt trygt område tæt på busser og metro. Gode spisesteder tæt på.
Lovely tiny apartmen
Lovely small apartment for family of three. For cleaness could take more notice. Late checkout is available, for us it was 11 am and it cost 15 £ how ever the the cleaner came at 10:30 am so we actually got 30 min of late checkout... overall nice place to be, 30 minutes from Westminster station by underground.
El apartamento está bien situado y con buenas comunicaciones. El personal fisico no existe. Funciona todo por códigos. Pero es fácil y sencillo el acceso . Se comunican todo por e-mail
Bad experience... not lucky
When I arrived at the apartment by 11pm. No electricity at all. Total black out in the apartment. No credit. Called customer service which did it's best to help out. But I had to stay 1h in the dark. Appartement was called. Very disappointed
It was perfect
Calmness in the city
Great apartments these with food on the doorstep, a pub and an all round lovely city aesthetic. Minutes from Old Street, Barbican and Farringdon. Can’t recommend these enough.
