Great location, rooms aren’t super big but very practical. There’s hooks all Around the room where you can hang a lot of stuff so even the room is fairly small, it wasn’t hard to store stuff.

Great overall

The location was perfect and very close to everything. The staff were very nice. I extended my stay and was sad to leave. If I come back yo Bern again, Stay Kooook in Bern City would be my top choice.

Location awesome, could be loud-ish.

Hard time with this review, hate to say anything negative as overall it was 7/10. The hotel was very clean, staff friendly, onsite "Host" very oleasant (small amount of staff as it is a self-serve hotel), location excellent! Can be a noisy spot, popular restaurant/bar below so if you like windows open, it will be loud on weekends. Room was a bit stuffy, A/C didn't seem to work well, so it was hot with window closed. Might return, but would need assurance A/C is working well. Parking is easy with the neighboring parkade, however, £40 /night. Rooftop terrace gorgeous spot to drink wine as the sunsets, and coffee in the morning.

Slight hiccup with online payment of the city tax was sorted by an extremely helpful member of staff at the property. Fantastic hotel with a lovely “new” feel about it. Great location for everything and would highly recommend staying here

Great but not for me

Just didn't care for self-check in option as I didn't have the code and my phone was acting up.

Really enjoyable! The rooms are comfy, and the roof top is really enjoyable if you were lucky like us wiht the weather! We couldn't figure out how to make the glass not clear for the shower :) However there were not many plug sockets in the room, so I recommend to bring a socket of your own with multiple USB slots to charge more than one phone over night.

The hotel was really awesome. Took me a bit to understand the concept, but once I did I was so happy to stay there. Really enjoyed the amenities and whole concept. Well done and keep on growing.

Top Floor Stay

High room on top floor had angled ceiling cutting into usable space significantly. Air conditioning did not work. Shared space was nice and had kitchen utensils and fridge.

This is was a great place to state for few days for my wife and I. The staff was super friendly and the room was perfect. I love the concept of this hotel. Definitely would come back.

Had a quick 2 day stay as a family of 4. The common areas and games room were a hit! A lot of restaurants nearby and very lively in the evenings. Train station is a short walk away. Roma were a good size for Europe. The shower is in the room, as opposed to a separate bathroom, so that was interesting. Also, the shower head was broken. Other than that, check in and check out were easy and would definitely recommend. One more pro, there is a washer and dryer which we were able to use.

Stay Kooook was exactly as advertised. Pros: -The hotel was right in the middle of the town with plenty of great restaraunts -Check-in was very simply using your mobile device. Using the phone to unlock the different doors was very nice and ensured safety in an already safe area. -They even had ice in the common area fridge. Most of the places we visited did not have ice but Stay Kooook had it ready for our beverages. Cons: The shower was cool but a little transparent and my daughter had to look the other way while I showered. Or you can shower in the dark 😀.

Good Stay

Good stay. Easy login via their app. Ensure you download it and have WiFi access. The host is available during the day. Luggage storage and free laundry available. Complimentary tea, coffee, milk, fruit, cookies. Game room and lovely terrace. Only issue was the bathroom light gave visibility into the bathroom. It got a little noisy in the evening but it stopped around 10pm.

Fantastic concept and service. Great location

Great self service city centre hotel with self check in via digital RFID keys to your phone. Room was spacious, well ventilated and came with all necessary essentials. Yea, coffee and entertainment areas within the common zones (no TV or kettle in your room) Room was exceptionally clean and towels and linen smelt fresh. Room was quirky and even came supplied with its own crossbow (maybe a Bern thing?) Shower was powerful and enclosed inside a very unique mirrored shower unit. Toilet was separate which would be great for couples or duo-travellers. Common room had freshly ground coffee and you were able to help yourself as required. Didn’t encounter any hotel staff while visiting but the premise is it’s all self service and experienced no problems checking in, finding my room or checking out. Would highly recommend as a great hotel for a solo traveller wanting to take in Bern or as a stop gap between other areas of Suisse.

Great central location, easy to find and nice to have coffee and tea provided. The shared common room is a good idea but in reality, it was crowded and hectic. A breakfast buffet would be better.

The rooms were very clean and comfortable. I especially liked the communal space, a great added bonus. A good location in the old town and close to the train station. Yes, I would recommend and stay there again.

Room was alright for 5 night stay.

The room was alright. There was not a kettle in the room so it would be nice if the kitchen had a kettle for guests to use. Check-in and check out was pretty straight forward and location was close to the train station. There are several supermarkets nearby.

A bit overpriced.

Unique concept. Felt like I was saying at home. A large common area, seating and kitchen is very kids friendly. On-site washing machine is a bonus. Rooms could use some storage. The bed was too small.

easy online check-in/check-out, app to open the door. Large common area that opens 24 hours, you get always get coffee, tea, water, very convenient .

It is very inconvenient to use your mobile app everytime to open the room door, if you are using an international roaming sim card, as the network connectivity is poor in the lower floor.

Interesting self check-in and door controls via app. Great for the tech savvy, but I can imagine some older folks might need some help. Our cozy room was compact but sufficiently spacious for 2 adults with a little creative arrangement of 2 large luggages. Only thing that it didn't have was a fridge in the room. There was a fridge in the common area that I think can be used though. We love that the place was modern, clean, centrally located and even had a free game room, coffee and fruits.

A great place to stay in Bern! Nice lounge area with free coffee/tea available 24 hours. Although they give you codes to doors and rooms in advance, there is a host at the hotel most hours. You can have a key card if you prefer this instead of codes. I would have liked the option to buy a drink to enjoy on the Roof Top Terrace. Amazing views from there. Main lamp post attached to the bed in my room was an unusual experience; it does "swing" when you move around in the bed and makes a noise, that woke me up, but I am also not a heavy sleeper. I missed a TV though, at least in the lounge

Simply amazing

What a cool place! The interior design here exceeded my wildest expectations. Both eye capturing and functional. At first glance the room seems small and lackluster in the functional area. But after some examination you discover you have everything you need in a very organized and compact formation. It was really cool. The common area is just beautiful, welcoming and very cozy. The staff let you feel at home right from the start. There is a notable sense of community here, since the guests are welcome to use the common area's kitchen and dinning place to install their own meal. One last impression is the great location in the heart of Bern with every store or establishment in a very comfortable distance. My wife and I simply adored this place and would come back, if only to visit this hotel again.

This was a great place to stay, the room was spotlessly clean, the common area is very good with free tea and coffee, water and fruit. The roof terrance has a great view of the city.

Friendly staff, online check in is straight forward, hotel was easy to find. We love the communal area, this is a new concept to us, where we can hang out, cook etc. Location is right in the center of the shopping area.

Quirky hotel

Quirky hotel right by the old town. Easily accessible from the train station (about a 10 minute walk) and plenty of facilities around. Room had basic amenities (no TV, fridge) but served the purpose of a stay well. Loved the electronic access. Would recommend.

This is an excellent hotel in the heart of the old city of Bern. While not a traditional full service full front desk hotel it met and exceeded our expectations. Using a mobile app to check-in, access the hotel and guest rooms gives you far greater flexibility during your stay.While the guest rooms are compact by design they are airy and bright. The hotel is very new and the facility reflects this. Their are several common areas where guests can enjoy their downtime as well as a fully equipped kitchen where meals can be prepared or take away meals eaten.

Really nice, newly renovated property. Do note that the "key" to your room and the outer door is an app on your phone, so don't let your phone go dead while touring the city!

Super Friendly

The hotel is very modern and comfortable. They offer a beautiful public space with free coffee and a rooftop terrace. Everyone was very nice. I satyed in a "cozy" room; it was excellent. Everything is online: checkin , keys, room ready notice. I would definitely stay here again.

Well designed compact room with good facilities. Online check-in and digital keys may be a little challenging for non tech. customers but once conquered excellent hotel.

This was a great hotel. Allows you to bring food in and eat it in the common area. Free coffee and when in Switzerland free coffee is great as it’s super expensive. Dining out is also expensive so nice to take advantage of their kitchen. Short walk to the train station. If you like space don’t get the smallest room size but otherwise we loved this hotel.

Great stay as usual !

We very very glad to come back to Stay KoooooK during the Christmas holidays, as the neat and relax kitchen and the comfy lounges made us feel at home. It's so rare to have the chance to cook or just have a salad while staying at a hotel. Super clean as usual, friendly staff, nice modern and natural decor. This time we choose a bigger room with sofa and chairs which was very nice. The only thing we didn't find as comfortable was the bed that was placed between a wooden beam and the wall. The person near the beam had to crouch/ duck to get out of bed. We would also suggest to add some additional storage space. But again our stay was so pleasant and we'll just choose a different room option for next time. Excellent location, walking distance from the train station and so central. The hotel faces a square with lovely markets, which happen on Saturday during the year and on various days at Christmas time.

I felt more welcome here, where we checked-in and got the keys via app, than in many other hotels with real staff. Super cool experience to do everything on-line. The hotel is very nice and modern.

A great place to stay for work

While I was a little concerned about the online check-in, everything worked like clockwork. The location is great being less than a few minutes walk from Bern Hbf Station. The Hotel itself is a beautiful building and the room was really good to stay in with a particular mention to the facilities to work from the room. The public area was very relaxing and a nice place to have that was so informal. The rooftop terrace is a must with beautiful views of Bern

All check-in and check-out was online. It was very simple and easy to use. There was a public area in the hotel where there was free coffee and tea, access to a little kitchen, plates, utensils,etc. and beer and wine could be purchased in the app. We bought a bottle of wine and borrowed two glasses to have some wine on the rooftop patio. It was great!

Great place in centre of Bern

We had amazing stay in this hotel. It feels like home. Living room( lobby) was great with coffee/ tea and snakes always available . Staff were very friendly and helpful too. Several Bakeries were very close to the hotel which added more sweetness to our trip

Not suitable for hot weather

There was no a/c in the room just slight air flow when the ambient temperature soared to 35-37 degrees!

Koook is brilliant - great concept beautifully done. We would stay here again in a heart beat. The location is perfect - right in the centre of Bern and walking distance to the train station.

Wonderful hotel with access through all doors and into your room with virtual keys on your phone-super easy even for the late-60s me. The young staff members were friendly, helpful, and accessible. The room was small but clean, comfortable, and well-configured. The building’s interior and exterior were charming. We were close to everything in old town Bern, including the fabulous Italian restaurant next door called Luce and the convenient Glatz coffee shop across the street.

This was our first time staying at a hotel like this. It is a great alternative to regular style hotel. It was clean, staff were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend.

No A/C

NO A/C! Despite Google and the hotels.com saying it has A/C, this is untrue. We were in Bern while daytime temps were in the 80sF. Our room was always at least 75° or more even though we had windows, blinds, and thermostat at lowest setting. We messaged the hotel and they said they don't have A/C, but do have a fan coil that keeps it at or below 19°C. This was absolutely not true since we were sweating day and night. The window also only opens a crack from the top. It is locked from opening all the way. The hotel is great if you are not there when the outside temps are high and you need A/C or at least a fully opening window..

The Koook Hotel in Bern is an interesting and fun concept. Like an upscale hostel, there is a common room with kitchen and 3 large, bright rooms with comfortable furniture and work spaces, plus a games room. While I didn't make use of the common area, I loved the rooftop terrace! There are plenty of chairs to relax in and take in the view of the city and distant alps. My room ("comfort double room" or "cosy") was just enough room for me (traveling solo - might be "cosy" for two. Note: the shower door in my room was a two-way mirror so when the light is on in the shower, you can see into it from the main room). The room was clean and well thought out with clever and functional design and storage ideas. There is no front desk to check in with when you arrive - you use an app to gain access to the building and your room - and while that worked well, I personally would have preferred to have a staff member present. The only staff I saw were the housekeeping team. One night there was a fire alarm at 4am with clear automated instructions to leave the building (German and English), and everyone seemed to comply. Fire department arrived quickly and we were soon allowed back in. While I understand this can happen occasionally (and no idea why it did), with no staff visibly on site, there was no communication after to explain, acknowledge or apologize for the inconvenience. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. It's a great location in the old town. felt safe, and an easy walk from the train.

Loved the concept and vibe of the property. We stayed for a week and felt the room was a bit small for two of us. Would have been OK for a couple of nights. You needn't be shy either with a glass / mirrored shower in the middle of the room. Overall, enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Modern and functional rooms.

Close to Old Town, clean

I’ve spent the past 15 years traveling all around the world staying at countless hotels/motels/hostels/airbnbs/etc. This place was by far my favorite place to stay! Clean, quaint, thoughtful amenities, awesome rooftop views (NYE fireworks were great) and an excellent communal kitchen with bread, croissants, ham, honey, fruit, and espresso provided as well as all the cooking appliances you need to make a meal. My only (minor) complaint would be the door/key system. You need cell service/wifi to access the digital key to get into the building and your room. As a foreign traveler with no international service, it would sometimes take a couple minutes to connect to the wifi to access the key. Again, very minor inconvenience. Would absolutely stay here again! 5/5 stars, highly recommend!

This new property is right in the heart of Bern. The common area overlooks the Christmas market and everything is brand new. I would stay here again.
