Great location
Comfortable hotel in a good location. Good breakfast. Polite staff and helpful. Room was cold and took a few hours to warm. Bathroom stayed very cold despite a small electric heater. Still recommend it for its great location.
Nicely compact. Unfortunately it seemed the room heater didn't work and the room was cold during the night. Staff are kind and friendly. Very convenient location bear the British Messiu.
Convenient location. Clean. Good price. A little noisy from the street
Great breakfast
Breakfast was great.
Good central location. Breakfast options a little restricted compared to where we have stayed before. Polite staff. Bottled Water in the mini bar could have been free as no one really fancies drinking water from the bathroom tap.
Everything was fine. People very kind and helpfull.
Great location
Outstanding
Exceptional facility
.
Great spot- would stay her again
Great location in a lovely heritage listed building. Our room on the first floor was spacious and comfortable. The breakfasts were great too.
Nice, quaint little place with plenty of restaurants close by. Just a block away from the British Museum. Staff is friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was good. The downside, of course, is the lack of a lift. Carrying bags up a narrow, winding staircase is a pain in the butt.
stay was nice but i was unhappy being in the basement room - would have liked if they changed the breakfast options instead of the same thing every day - kind of boring - staff was nice - would probably consider staying there again and would request floor i need
Nice stay
Clean, friendly, good location
Great value hotel
Really nice central London Hotel.. Great value. Excellent facilities n free breakfast. Bed a bit hard for me but no real issues.
Central to most tourist attractions.
Great Hotel and Location
Great Hotel, helpful staff, clean and in good decorative order, fridge, iron, safe, tea / coffee making in room, excellent breakfast cooked to order. Ideally located for Museums and Theatres. The hotel will ensure you know there is no lift ..... if you are on the 3rd floor could be a challenging climb
Staff was so very friendly and accommodating. Lovely stay.
Great location Euston and westend
Great location and a very comfortable hotel. Will definitely consider again in the future
Very nice hotel for the price. Clean and comfortable.
Quiet room, comfy bed, modern fittings.
The people were great, as was the breakfast. The location worked for me because it was close to the train station and close to amenities. Two issues I had were the foot-high step down into the shower and the fact that none of the available outlets were convenient for using my laptop.
Very friendly staff and lovely location.
I returned after 20 grand it was the same warm feeling!
Hoping for more
I read other reviews before booking and was surprised at the condition of the hotel once arriving. Tight spiral staircase on the top floor not fun to carry heavy luggage, but I understand it's an old building. The carpet throughout had what appeared to be pet stains in several places. Hard spring mattress beds. Veneer peeling off inexpensive furniture. Noisy air units. Tired decor. I don't normally leave poor reviews, but we were so disappointed, we booked elsewhere rather than staying at the Staunton. I will say the front desk staff was friendly.
Nice hotel, would stay again
Nice hotel in great location. Friendly staff. Breakfast was good. However no lift and small staircase so bags need to be carried, we were on the top floor but luckily only had 1 small bag so this wasnt a huge problem.
Nice home like atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Secure building. Only strange thing, other than limited room for moving about the room, was that the charging plugs were behind the bed and needed to move furniture to discover them. Would definitely book again!
Great stay overall we would go back ! Carpet in room would need update.. and of course rooms are small as most British hotels .. but overall great stay super breakfast!
We are a family of 3 (with a 9-year-old), stayed in this hotel for 4 days during our London trip in early July. Our room was 303, it's on the top floor and we understand it was an older building with stairs, but moving our luggage on those stairs was exhausting. The room was big, with 3 individual twin beds, it was comfortable and clean but a little bit outdated. The staffs are very friendly and helpful during our stay. The breakfast was included and the full breakfast was delicious. The location of this hotel is very convenient and walkable, only a few mins away from the British Museum and close to the Oxford Street. There are a lot of dining options and we feel safe in the area around the hotel. Overall experience was GREAT! I would recommend this hotel to my family and friends.
Location was perfect, nice breakfast
Charming Georgian neighborhood, secure hotel with 24hr staff. Room was a funky shape because it wasn’t always a hotel. But nicely painted and decent beds and carpets. The bathroom was recently remodeled and the shower was fantastic. The AC wasn’t that powerful but we were there in an unusual heat spell. Friendly kind staff. The breakfast is worth mentioning, the room is cheerful and bright. Big spread as well as table service offering additional cooked food. Best complimentary breakfast I’ve ever had.
Boutique property in a great location walking distance to Covent Garden, Central London and Soho. Friendly and helpful staff. Small rooms but well appointed and value for money. Would stay again.
Excellent customer service, breakfast was lovely and was ideal for our visit to UCL. Would recommend.
Lovely boutique type hotel. Great , convenient and safe neighborhood. Close to many dining options. Victorious is a must for Americans who love breakfast great coffee! Beds were very comfortable, and cleaning staff was friendly and helpful. All in all a very nice experience. Only complaints are the somewhat unfriendly, front desk, staff, and the electrical outlets in the rooms which would not charge our electronics properly despite having brand new travel converters. Outlets were loose and converters kept falling out and losing contact. Very challenging when you depend on a fully charged phone for navigation and communications. They were kind enough to give us a ground floor room since they don’t have elevators. This was appreciated!
Very nice hotel.
The staff at the Staunton were wonderful. Very close to the British Museum. Enjoyed our stay.
Nice neighborhood. Dining options.
Great value hotel
Great value for my one night stay. Good location. Lovely staff. Nice little room with everything I needed. And breakfast was included.
Quite nice hotel.
Hotel was very nice, albeit we were in the basement so no outlook, comfortable bed and nice room, complimentary Fruit was quite old and not eatable. really nice breakfast. Quite expensive was what it was.
Nice room, very clean, slept well & superb breakfast.
Nice affordable hotel in a quiet street, with spacious comfy rooms.
A pleasant and acceptable guest house with friendly staff. Lots of stairs though if you end up on the top floor!
Beautiful and friendly!
Beautiful and clean, very comfortable and lovely friendly staff! Shame we missed breakfast as we did not know the cut off time.. next time I will ask so we do t miss out.
very good hotel
a cozy hotel, very close to the beginning of oxford street. breakfast is very tasty and served nicely. a friendly stuff. the room is quite small, but the bathroom is very large and convenient.
My daughters and I stayed the one night and everything was great. A note to anyone not great with windy stairs - these are definitely narrow and winding - however, just don't bring tons of luggage and all is great. The room was very nice and staff friendly too.
Staff wasn’t super helpful. Great neighborhood! Old carpeting. No lift. Updated bathroom. It was fine, but I wouldn’t stay here again.
Family stay
Great stay, convenient location, clean, helpful staff, good breakfast and best option for a family of 5 with a triple room for kids.
This was a short visit overnight. No lifts so had to walk up to the 3rd floor. Not a problem for us as fit but for others would find difficult. I would ask for a lower floor next time. Room clean and spacious had a lovely bathroom, shower easy to use and clean. Didn’t use tv had aircon. Breakfast good full English or continental if you wished. Overall I would stay again as close to the shops and tube that we required.
Clean, friendliness and professionalism.
Lovely hotel, attentive and friendly staff. Great breakfast freshly cooked to order, clean and comfortable rooms. My only complaint was poor lighting but that applies to virtually every hotel room I’ve ever stayed in for decades! Would definitely recommend
Well located hotel, easy check in and acceptable breakfast. Beds very comfortable and shower superb.
Great B&B - nice big room, new bathroom (although on the very top on the building :-( ) very good breakfast.
Good part of town with a lot of cafes and shopping. Close enough to the tube. Great cooked to order breakfast.
Queens Garden Party stay
Lovely friendly Hotel, reception staff were very helpful when we needed directions and let us borrow one of their umbrellas. Very polite and friendly staff at breakfast (breakfast was very nice too, we had full English with omelette of choice). We were allowed to leave luggage in reception the next day too. Very clean room, would definitely go again if in London. Great location, we actually walked everywhere, including back to St Pancras (20 mins) 😊
Nothing unique. Bathrooms are tiny. Mattresses soft and bed squeaky.
The hotel was awesome! His location was in the Center and it was very easy to made mobile.
So friendly
The hotel was so friendly and room was clean and everything we required was supplied.
Theatre stay
I visited for one 1 night with my daughter & found the reception staff very helpful & friendly, the room was lovely, the bathroom was refurbished as it was like new & even though we were on the road, it was not too noisy at all. Breakfast dis not seem to match up to the rest of the Hotel The lady who served us did not have a mask & she just stood at our table & did not really say anything, could have been more welcoming & friendly & the cooked breakfast was just ok. The poached eggs had been done in a poacher & were not fully cooked inside as the white was a bit runny. This was only minor though & would not deter us from staying again as it was so central & handy for everywhere.
A fabulous surprise of a hotel
What a fabulous little hotel. Great location and the room was exactly as on the pictures. The free breakfast was fantastic. Overall, I highly recommend this gem of a hotel in the heart of the city.
Lovely, comfortable
Perfect
Perfect location , lovely room and staff , would def stay again
Little gem
Excellent location, staff very friendly, room very clean, would recommend to anyone having a few days in London sightseeing, most places in walking distance if you don't like the tubes.
Lovely hotel in a great location, very clean and stylish, friendly staff. Have stayed here several times, would recommend.
We enjoyed our stay so much! Good price for the amazing location but most of all the included breakfast was amazing! Made hot to order and not just a buffet of things laid out...would highly recommend this!
Great location for exploring London. Only 5-10 mins away from a tube station serving many lines /routes. Room was clean, comfortable and of a good size. Due to staff sickness our check in was not ready until almost 5pm which threw off some of our plans but I guess it can't be helped. Staff could probably be a bit more engaging but pleasant enough
Lovely Stay
Really lovely stay here. Beautiful quiet hotel, luxurious & clean rooms & friendly staff. Breakfast was lovely too. Can't really fault it. Positioning was great too- we enjoyed Camden Market, Covent Garden, Theatre & the British Museum (literally 3 mins away)
Great location
A great stay
We were too early to book in, however we were allowed to leave our luggage so we didn’t lose anytime… checking was easy !!! We had a lovely stay and breakfast was very good.. the staff that we met were so lovely too and had time to make us feel very welcomed … perfect place to stay as 10 mins walk from Euston station, in a lovely setting by a park very Sherlock Holmes feeling to it !!! We should have done two night not one so we will be returning again for two nights !!!
Fantastic London trip
Breakfast brilliant, service brilliant, location perfect, room clean and tidy, minibar reasonably priced. Can't find any fault
We had a very comfortable stay in the hotel. Will happily use it again.
A nice comfortable room
The Staunton Hotel was a clean and very comfortable hotel. We asked for a room with a bath and we got one. We had lovely large bed and one of the best nights sleep in a long while. We will be going back when we stay in London
Fantastic Hotel.
We have just returned home from a 2 night stay at the Staunton Hotel and I cant fault it in anyway. Great location and facilities, clean, traditional and modern, friendly staff and lovely cooked breakfast. I could see straight away that a lot of time, hardwork and investment has gone into this hotel, and after a difficult year, I would strongly encourage to people to book with confidence and you won't be disappointed.
Staunton Hotel
Very nice Hotel with no complaints whatsoever. Would definitely stay again.
I was disappointed as we were unable to take this trip due to Covid. I prepaid a year in advance. I asked if the hotel would at least allow a lower penalty as others in my group who booked elsewhere were given a break and only charged a one-day penalty. I know what I purchased but with the world crisis, it would have been nice of the Staunton Hotel to refund even a portion under the circumstances.
excellent
Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast, fresh decor and ideal location
Location location location!!!!!!!
Great location! Plenty of restaurants and shopping within a few minutes walking to oxford street, and super close to Goodge Tube Station. Hotel is super cute, room was very spacious considering it’s London, and rooms are usually tiny. The best part were the two doors coming into the room, which blocked out any noise from other guests walking around the halls. Staff is super welcoming and frequently, and accommodating when I needed to add on a couple of days. Breakfast was part of the deal, and it was tasty! I will totally stay here again on my next trip to London.
Staff was very friendly and helpful Well located just a small walk to the British museum and some shop where you can get tour buses around the capital
Clean and Small
Be aware that there are no elevators (just narrow stairs). he staff could have been a little friendlier. No smiles, no welcomes, seemed slightly bothered to have to deal with guests.
Theatre trip
The hotel was in a quiet location - easily walkable for us to get to Theatreland. We had a comfortable triple room which had everything we needed. An added bonus was being able to leave our overnight bags for a few hours after check out.
The hotel was in a quiet location, yet only 10 minutes walk to the theater district...the best of both worlds.
Great hotel
Stayed for 1 night.Good location.Lovely clean room.Staff and service were very good and the full English breakfast was one of the best I have had. There was a minor problem in the room on the night time but this was rectified in minutes.Would definitely stay again if I visited London again.
Just stayed overnight here but had no complaints. Hotel was well located, room spacious and price included a cooked breakfast so all good 😊
Nice hotel, great location
Lovely hotel. Staff excellent. 3 story town house but no lift which is obviously important if you have mobility issues or heavy bags!
No Elevator
Don’t stay here if you have a heavy suitcase. There’s no elevator! Luckily, we were just one flight up. I never could have dragged my bag up if we’d been on the 3rd floor. Also, no staff to help you. Room was clean but very small. If you are planning to visit the British Museum, this hotel is very close.
Quiet comfortable stay
Quiet comfortable room, good breakfast.
Comfortable & convenient
A lovely, friendly hotel conveniently situated for our visit to the ROH. We had a comfortable, well appointed room overlooking a side street so external noise was minimal. There is no lift but fortunately our room was on the second floor so this, for us, was no real problem. Breakfast was good and was cooked to order rather than a ghastly buffet. We shall return.
Great hotel! Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Location is excellent. Walk to tube station. Very clean- comfy beds- decent breakfast. Rooms in front noisy at night due to outside construction but that may end soon. Inside the hotel, it is very quiet.
The Staunton was great. It's a small hotel (17 rooms with en suites), which was fine with us, and it's family-owned. Our room (including the bathroom) was nicely updated, and it had two large windows and good storage. The location was terrific -- 5 minutes from the British Museum, 5-10 minutes to 3 different tube stops, and about 5-10 minutes from a 24-hour convenience store and a Pret A Manger -- and it was quiet. The staff was exceptional -- super nice and helpful. We plan on staying there on our return trip and highly recommend it.
The location of this hotel is excellent - within walking distance of the British Museum and close to several tube stations! The room was comfortable and the daily breakfast was great. The front desk staff was less than friendly. That being said, the positives outweigh the one negative and I would definitely stay here again.
Beware - Wrong Type of Room, Noisy and Hot
Ok, we opted to stay here at very late notice after finding ourselves needing to stay in London overnight. However, we regretted the experience. We were allocated the wrong type of room: we booked one double bed and one single bed (I can still see this clearly in the booking details) however we ended up with three single beds. As it was already very late, we were too tired to argue. I've stayed on Gower Street before and know traffic continues to be noisy through the night, and this was the case on this occasion. Also, the room was incredibly hot, although the heating wasn't running. On the plus side, I enjoyed the cooked breakfast which was included, but this was not enough to make up for an error in our booking and a night of disrupted sleep.
Excellent and comfortable stay with daughter
Stayed with my daughter last week. Very clean and close to the museums. The ladies serving breakfasts were so helpful and served us tea when we were waiting for daughter’s friend to arriveThe breakfasts were hearty and delicious.
Hotel is very well located. We could find all we needed nearby. Room was great, comfortable and clean. Beds and pillows were top notch. Transportation is easy using the Underground. Staff was truly nice and helpful. Breakfast was great and Mila provided superb service. Front Desk staff went out of their way to assist us with directions and ideas of what to do while in London. The only complain was Internet connectivity, but apparently it is not a hotel issue but a city infrastructure issue. Overall, we were very pleased with the hotel and would go back for sure next time.
Five stars for Staunton Hotel
This is a lovely hotel. Really glad we found it and would definitely stay here again. Unfortunately, had an early flight so couldn’t try out their breakfast service. They were kind enough to pack us a bag of light snacks to take with us though. Pleased with the entire stay!
The hotel was in a great location and very accessible to a lot of attractions in London. You could hear Traffic noise that could wake you up while you were trying to sleep. The beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable.
We could hear our Neighbors opening their door and that would keep us awake.
it suited me very well, quiet, central, helpful staff.
Nicely decorated boutique hotel but quite pricey
Nicely decorated boutique hotel. The building is old but the hotel decor has been kept up to date. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was large and modern. There was an ironing board and iron in the room, which always pleases me on a business trip. Breakfast was good. Quite expensive for what it was but that may have been related to the date I was staying. Recommended for a leisure or business trip.
Great property and ideally placed for West End and Museum. Friendly welcoming staff and lovely rooms. Only downside was the breakfast. Wasn’t the greatest of full English and we would have rather paid less and gone out for breakfast.
The staff were all very friendly helpful and considerate.

Nice hotel, in a convenient location for theatre visit, with breakfast included
