Excellent place to stay.
Excellent Stay in Rome for Vatican Visit
This hotel is very nice for American travelers. The staff are very helpful no matter what you need.
Staff was very accommodating, the rooms were clean, and the area had plenty to explore.
Location for the Vatican is perfect. On a quiet street so away from the hustle and bustle. Some lovely authentic Italian restaurants near by. Hotel staff really friendly and accommodation. The rooms are kept lovely and clean throughout your stay
The property is nice. The location seemed safe but a little out of the way from the main sights. The room was a great disappointment although we had paid for a better room.We just couldn’t wait to leave. Our over all experience there was negative including the staff at the front desk.
We were given an upgrade by the friendly staff. The room was spacious and comfortable. Excellent service
Very nice room. Staff was very helpful with my requests. A very high quality hotel.
Enjoyed staying here on our trip to Rome. Friendly staff, clean hotel, and great location
Star hotel Michelangelo is excellently located - 5-minute walk from St Peter’s Square. The restaurant is fantastic - breakfast is well-stocked and tasty (ie croissant, eggs etc). Dinner had an excellent selection and certainly first rate.
We like the hotel. Only problem is to find it from airport There is no sign of the hotel at airport We spent one hours to find it carrying our heavy luggages. If you can provide a shuttle or some directional Few people speak English is another challenge
the balcony was 1.5 feet deep on the back side. I ordered a balcony, they said none were available and gave me an "upgrade" to an alley view, crappy balcony.
Great location very close to St Peter’s Square. Lots of restaurants in the neighborhood. Much quieter and less crowded than the area around the Colosseum. Very good breakfast. Front desk very helpful. Ask for a map; they have an excellent one. AC works well; if your room is too warm, notify front desk as they control the room temp apparently. I was told the room thermostat does not. Very comfortable room and housekeeping is excellent. Only negative for me was that the breakfast staff was very unfriendly. For four mornings, I wasn’t greeted or smiled at once. Kind of a downer to start the day. Other than that, a great stay. I would certainly stay there again.
This property is my go to when in Rome. The staff is the best in the city.
The location to the Vatican was great. Roberto in the dining room went out of his way to make us feel welcome and make sure we had everything we needed for a great dining experience whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner. The food was also good. All the hotel staff were friendly and helpful with our needs. They could use a light in the closet and provide hair conditioner in the shower. I’d stay here again.
Beautiful hotel with friendly excellent staff.
Beautiful hotel with a great caricature.
The dinning option around the hotel is great and walkable. The check in was delayed due to room was not ready on time at 2pm, had to wait more than half hour.
Bar service not good but all other aspects of the property were good.
Nice hotel. Good .ocation
Review
Where helpful, good service, nice hotel, good location.
Great location to St. Peters Basilica and Sinstine Chapel. Hotel clean and nice shower and linens. They charged us for water that we didnt drink or order but just paid it because it was 5 am trying to check out.
Front desk staff could not be nicer or more helpful. Hotel was very nice and clean and we received a free upgrade! I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
Close to Vatican. Easy to walk there. Hotel was lovely and staff was friendly
Friendly staff Close to restaurants Nothing unique
The location right next to the Vatican is great, but it is far away from a lot of other attractions. The ac in the room is controlled by the front desk. The hotel did offer free parking at the back of the building.
Great hotel and very convenient location.
We stayed here for two nights before heading to a conference in Florence. We loved the location as it is a block from Saint Peter's but seemed like an out of the way location. This area is out of the old city center so a complete relief from the crowds, although still busy with people visitng the the Vatican. It was a 30 minute 'stroll' across the river and to the Pantheon. The coloseum etc are a bit further on. The hotel was cool, nicely designed and was spotless. Bed and linens were comfortable - with a selection of pillows. The balcony looks out onto the hills and with a small lean to theleft the Basilica is RIGHT THERE! Do stop to have a drink in the bar in the afternoon- the bartender was great and quality of drinks good. We visited the square and church at 7 am when it opens to beat the lines and it was GREAT as it is a 5 minute walk. Breakfast was okay nad in a very nice room. American coffee... but you can ask for a cappuccino. There are a few restaurants nearby- the one ~two doors toward St Peters is excellent and very good value. Overall, we thought this hotel was well worth it and appreciated the location.
Very helpful staff.
The hotel and people where lovely.
It was great location for our visit to VaticanCity, Musuem , Sistine Chapel. We are at a quaint restaurant Perdinci was wonderful. Highly recommend hotel.
Increible lugar, sobre todo el tema de la cercanía con el vaticano.
The michealangelo hotel was in a great location to walk to many restaurants. The staff was friendly and personable
Had a wonderful stay , room was ready when we got in ( got in before check in time ) would absolutely recommend this hotel
Excellent hotel in the heart of Rome
The Michelangelo hotel in Rome is consistently far above average. From the front desk to housekeeping to the morning breakfast offering, everyone at the hotel goes out of their way to make your stay a positive and enjoyable experience. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a wonderful stay in the eternal city of Rome and all the beauty it has to offer .
Our room was spacious and clean. The staff was very helpful and the proximity to St. Peter’s was convenient. Will definitely be back when we visit Rome again.
Gabriel, the bartender, was excellent!! The front desk staff and bellman were terrific.
A chain hotel with aging facilities but can’t beat the price to be a block away from the entrance to the Vatican!
Best hotel to stay at in Rome.
Great area near the Vatican! Super safe and great, air conditioned rooms.
Although a hot and busy time of the year for Italy, this hotel could have done better. It’s a beautiful place and location, but shower soap missing, dust under the bed, slow service with luggage, breakfast was the same, nothing exiting after three days, and coffee was ‘ “Americano”,weak. Found out on the last day we could have ordered expresso after we had been buying it down the street every morning.Lacked luster.
The hotel was conveniently located in close proximity to the Vatican St. PETER'S. Everything was safe, efficient and pleasant.
Very nice hotel and a great staff ! Very helpful.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights at this hotel and highly recommend it! This was a great location, close to many of the attractions. The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. Extremely easy to get a taxi. The front desk will order you one and they usually arrive in 5 minutes. The beds were comfortable and they have a pillow menu as well. Excellent hotel!
Nice lobby and dining area. Room was clean but small for 3 people. Bathroom was new and very clean. Parking was good. Located right behind the Vatican with a very short walk to the Vatican. There is a convenient store a few doors down
Excellent hotel, very convenient for the Vatican but also public transport if you don’t want to walk to the tourist sites. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby. Clean, comfortable hotel. Friendly, helpful staff. Great breakfast.
The property was located near the Vatican so it was very convenient for sightseeing. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and clean. The breakfast at the hotel was delicious. All around great experience staying at this hotel!
They refused to give me the VIP upgrade. Said the hotel was full even though the room was available on Expedia. Staff were rude. Then to top it off the air on was blowing out warm air in 41 degree heat. The staff control air con and they insisted it was at coolest temp. You literally could feel no difference with air outside when I opened the window, to inside. I had to slack a sheet in the bath and ‘sleep’ (didn’t get ANY) under that. Reception was lovely and cool though 🙄 I don’t normally write reviews, but it was my worse night in a hotel ever, could not wait to get out of there. Also can’t abide rudeness, especially when you are paying for a service.
Lovely stay
I love the air conditioner so that I can have a great night sleep. The location is so close to all the attractions.
It was OK, not exceptional
We stayed at the family room. It is basically two connected single rooms. The rooms were tiny. Just enough space to walk around the bed. We were not impressed by the size of the rooms for the price they charged us. Location of the hotel is not that convenient. It is right behind Vatican. If you want to visit Vatican throughout your stay this is the right place for you but all the other tourist attractions are far from this hotel. The hotel is 30-35 minute walk from the nearest metro station, which means you have to get a cab to anywhere you want to visit and back. The rooms and lobby was clean. We had breakfast included. The buffet was fine, nothing special just the minimum standard buffet food. Overall for the price they charged us this was more like a 3.5 star hotel.
Clean and good location
It’s close to Vatican and lots of dining restaurants around the area
Another wonderful Stay
Very lovely hotel about 5 minute walk from St Peter's Basilica. This is the second time we chose this hotel as location is perfect, the hotel is very clean and well kept. Staff are very friendly and they even offer free parking. Highly recommended.
Convenient, clean room. Air conditioner would make a terrible sound about once each hour. Had to sleep with ear plugs because of this. Breakfast was ok, but the coffee provided in the run was just brown water without any flavour. Had to leave premedis for decent coffee. Staff were very nice and the hotel was clean. I paid premium price but did not get a room with a balcony.
Great location. The connecting rooms were great for our family of four
Our stay was perfect. Quaint and convenient hotel next to St. Peter’s Basilica. We stayed with kids and we all loved it. Our room had a balcony which was an added bonus.
Excellent staff and property. Great location.
Great location to the Vatican. Good restaurant options nearby. Room was great, shower was tiny. Front desk were helpful and friendly.
We were just there for 1 day.
Conveniently located to everything
Conveniently located to the Vatican, restaurants and shopping
Property and all staff extremely friendly and helpful in anyway possible. Ice machine was so great rather than running to bar all the time. Walking distance to lots of restaurants and walkable to most attractions. Simply loved this place and will definitely recommend to anyone!
neat san pietro
Should be rated a 3 star hotel, not 4. The staff was unfriendly and didn’t greet us anytime we saw them/ entered the lobby. They charge for everything, even a bottle of fresh water after cleaning the room was a charge. The views from the rooms didn’t match the pictures/ advertisements. The doors constantly slam in the hallways so no way you’ll be able to sleep without hearing the doors and other people talking
Modern Hitel in Ancient Rome
Staff went above and beyond to meet all of our needs. Friendly and accommodating. In a land of ancient buildings it was nice to stay in a modern clean and comfortable hotel. We were minutes from the Vatican and steps away from excellent food and shops.
The staff is always great and welcoming. The hotel is very clean.
When i visit i always try to stay at the Michelangelo, they are wonderful.
Property was next to the Vatican. Great restaurants and a market near by.
Property manager s in a great location next to the Vatican, 2 blocks away. Greta restaurants and a market near by.
excellent stay. could not be better. would love to go back.
Fabulous location
Found this gem by researching the internet and online reviews beforehand. It did not disappoint! The comfortable rooms at the Michelangelo are outfitted with high quality, modern decor and furnishings, and are immaculately clean and well-lit. The bathroom with full bath and spa-like showerhead was also outfitted with fragrant, upscale beauty amenities and luxurious robes. It was indeed the perfect retreat to go "home" to each evening after trekking the entire city on foot for five full days. Highly recommend!
Clean and comfortable
Had a great experience here. We were traveling with our two kids, and the room set up was great. We had a main entrance and then two separate entrances to two separate rooms. Was great for the kids to be able to watch movies and hang out without being too noisy. Staff was very helpful and friendly. We were able to store our luggage the day we left at the hotel so that we could continue exploring the vatican area. Very nice location.
Perfect location. Walkable to Vatikan and Sistine Chapel. Many restaurants around and nearby metro and bis.
The location was convenient, next to the Vatican, and surrounded by shops and restaurants. The majority of the staff were very friendly, accommodating and helpful. To name a few; Maria, Alexandro, Simon, and Chaulda (Sorry if I missed spelled the name correctly). The room was specious, clean and bed very comfortable.
Great location and close to the Vatican!
It is very close to the Vatican, so it was great for our tour.
I wouldn't choose this hotel again due to its outdated facilities and inconsistent Wi-Fi. Additionally, the front desk staff's behavior, like loudly announcing my room number and floor several times to a lobby full of people at check in after I had informed the agent that I was there alone, made me feel unsafe. Service at the bar was lacking, with no bartender present and delays in getting served. When I needed to check out and settle my bill, requesting a small favor of a slightly late check-out, I was met with resistance over asking for just 1 hour of late check out. The rude woman first told me no, then told me she would do it but if I went over she was going to charge me. Overall, I cannot recommend staying here.
Very quiet.
Hotel is located very close to St. Peter’s Square. (10min walk) It’s located on a one way quite street, so in the evening there is not a lot of noise. Great staff! Extremely helpful. Lobby is nice with a bar and restaurant. Great breakfast options. Ordered room service 1 evening and it was good. House keeping was very good.
Very modern and clean. Easy walk to the Vatican, as well as the Historic Downtown. Staff were very professional and welcoming. The rooms are spacious, modern, and comfortable.
Good breakfast and close to the Vatican for easy access before the crowds form
Great staff, very accommodating. Came 1day early for a group tour. Staff gave me a great room with a balcony and let me keep the same room for the remainder of my stay
Excellent hotel, great service, modern, elegant rooms and lobby . Excellent service and professional staff
Excellent hotel with excellent staff. We were very comfortable staying there and plan on booking again.
Perfect location
Staff was polite. I enjoyed my stay. Having parking included was a plus! I would recommend
It was clean, great breakfast buffet, bed was comfortable and we had a nice surprise of wine and a bottle of Italian olive oil waiting in our room. We just walked from here to the Vatican. And everything else we took a taxi around Rome. And you can just tell them you need an airport transportation when you leave. And they also tell you how much is the ride. It was a 2 night stay but it did it’s purpose for us.
This was a great stay. However I left some medicine in the room and I’m having a hard time now getting them to respond to my request to mail them to me. Which they said they would do, this is disappointing.
Brilliant hotel, location and service from staff
An absolutely lovely hotel with great staff, well fitted rooms and exceptional location for Vatican City. Staff were friendly, attentive and always on hand. Rooms very nicely appointed with expected amenities and the whole hotel was spotless. Ate in the restaurant one one night with great menu, tasty food and great service. You couldn’t ask for a better location for exploring Vatican City and wider Rome.
Would stay there again
10/10 all round. Friendly helpful staff. Clean modern rooms. The piano player / singer in the main dining room at dinner was fantastic. I ate dinner at the hotel due to her performance. Another 10/10
We did not receive any perks. No upgrade, in fact we were assigned a 1st floor tiny room. The wine bottle the hotel provided was garbage , i doubt it was even portable.
The staff is the best. Welcoming, caring, fun, and they remember you, and your name. Love them all! This is my "go to" hotel whenever i am in Rome
We were happy with the hotel service and its accessibility to St Peter's Square.
Good
Clean, convenient , staff nice
Staff was amazing
This is an excellent hotel with great service. My only strong recommendation is to order your own ride using the Uber app where you prepay rather than pay the driver at the end of your trip as we were scammed into paying 70€ euros cash the driver claimed as a hotel request fee on top of the trip fee which we later discovered was not true! Rather than let the hotel call a ride for you, request one yourself on the Uber app. The cost is the same if the hotel calls your ride or you request one yourself on the app, the only difference is the driver can’t lie to you about prices and severely overcharge you. I’m sure most drivers are excellent and we had no issues with other drivers but it’s best to just order rides yourself! Otherwise fantastic stay and great hotel and services!
Great place to staying!
