Location is very close to Milan Centrale but the area surrounding is quite noisy at night. The hotel entrance was somewhat inconvenient due to the flight to stairs leading down to the lobby. Staff will be able to help with heqvy luggages but it may not be manned at all times. We visited in early November where outside temperature was below 21 degrees celcius so there was no air conditioning allowed in the room. While we managed with opening the room window but it didn't ventilate the room sufficiently and we could hear loud street noise through the night.
Good location, very near to train station. Room is neat and clean. I travelled alone and feel safe in this hotel.
Fantastic staff! Very helpful and kind.
Nice location, right cross the Milan Central Station, staff are very helpful .
Ok
Perfect
Really pleased with our stay at Starhotels Anderson. Room fantastic. Great location. V clean. Professional staff. Aircon particularly good for a hot day in Milan.
We stayed in rooms 702 and
The hotel is located nearby to Milan Central station and it was convenient to move around the city. The rooms were spacious and breakfast had various items. Overall we had a wonderful stay!
Overall great stay and perfect location if traveling from Milan Centrale Station. Great breakfast.
Close to Train and Restaurants
Fabulous stay, great staff, ideal for travel.
Good location close to central railway station, but quite a dustance from Duomo square and city centre. But it is only 5 stops away on a really good metro. Staff were all fabulous and very friendly, not something I can say about all Milanese! Nice buffet breakfast. Highly recommended.
Service was impeccable. Both front desk in late afternoon and manager provided courteous professional service.
Good hotel when traveling through Milan, a minute walk from Centrale, direct metro line to Duomo
The bathroom was very cramped and could do with a renovation. One of my pet hates is the continued use of showers in a bathtub. This is not the 1920s. These baths are a safety issues and should be removed. The room itself was ok, but comfortable and aircon enabled sleeping. Breakfast buffet was variable and staff always helpful when providing coffee choices.
Good hotel near the central train station.
Great location right next to the Milan Central Station. Spacious and clean rooms with everything you would expect at this price point. Only notable downside is the on-site restaurant, which was disappointing and expensive. You’re better off eating somewhere close to the hotel.
Great convenient area. The room was quite small and we had a view of a brick building. For the price we paid, it would have been nice to have breakfast included but overall it was a nice stay.
Close to Milano centrale and very good breakfast provided. Will come back again
I had to leave at 3:30am to catch my flight. The manager went way out of his way to help me out since the early time was challenging for me. Thank you to him for going above and beyond to help me out so much!
Very nice hotel and close to the train station. Some noise from the rooms above because of the wooden flooring.
I've stayed at this hotel many times and am always pleased with my experience. The only small suggestion I have, would be a small Nespresso machine in the room... they are becoming common in hotels and it would be great if StarHotels would do this. Even without, however, I will stay again.
Best location ever and very safe. The staff was very friendly and their tub was amazing after a long day of walking.
We needed a nice clean hotel close to the train station and that is exactly what we got. It was quiet and staff was friendly. I would definitely stay again.
Great location for train station and an OK stay
Room looked somewhat tired and in need of renovation. Wi-Fi speed was not great. Breakfast was average at best and poorly organised. Location suited my purposes and was the real reason I stayed here
Very close to train station. Hotel amenities are very good. Bedding is very comfortable in our liking. Staff are very helpful during our stay. Recommended if you want a comfortable rest and travel from there.
Lovely stay
The hotel was clean, quiet and an excellent location across from the train station . Would stay there again when returning to Milan
Very nice hotel, very good customer services.
Air conditioner was on, not controlled by the season. Bathroom was great, the table and long table was great. Room was spacious but no electrical outlets by the nightstands or nearby. Overall the hotel was excellent choice.
Perfect for families
Star Hotel Anderson is just perfect place to stay in Milan when you need to be nearby train station. Just across train station Family room setup is perfect. We just love it. Terminal has a food market as well for families with picky eaters which came in handy. I would love to stay again
Great location right next to the Central station. Really quiet in the hotel
Service is the best.
We always enjoy our stay at star hotel Anderson. Everything is perfect.
DISAPPOINTED
Was assigned a room at 912 but the door frame was like dropping down and we immediately informed the front desk but was told not possible to exchange the room as the hotel was fully booked. When we back from outing and was told able to change room as they realised how bad was it. The bed frame was so old and does not looks like a 4 star hotel.
Beautiful city and the location of the hotel was fantastic. Friendly service, would recommend and return.
It was ok. Nothing special
My husband and I chose this hotel since it was so close to the train station and we were going to be doing day trips all over Italy. We were told multiple times by our taxi/uber driver that the area is not so safe since it's close to the train station. The room was spacious, it was super outdated though. It was clean and the staff was super helpful and kind. They helped us grab a taxi on our way home! Probably would not stay here again but if you're doing day trips in Italy, highly recommend!
Very nice Hotel.
Noisy
Great location, great service, nice refurbishment. However, the room I live has been quite noisy, and I cannot even find out the source of the noise. I assume it is related to some faulty machinery inside the property. The noise is like “tick tick tick…”, and has been there all night. If you are sensitive to noise, it would be difficult to sleep. Other than that, it is what you expect for an ordinary 4-star hotel.
Short walk (5 mins) from Statzione Milano Centrale so cery convenient. Modern interior with very comfortable rooms. Will definitely book this hotel again next time I'm in Milan.
Good central location. The room was adequately spaced but room and cupboards had a slight mustiness to it in terms of the smell Staff were helpful as needed to extend stay due to flight cancellation Breakfast was average, I’ve had better at 2 start hotels Adequate for a 1-2 night stay
great location next to the train station
Great location, right next to the central train station. Friendly staff. We arrived early and were able to store our luggage at the front desk. When we checked in, our luggage was already brought to our room. The room was very clean and bed was comfortable. Overall, great stay.
Great location, spacious room, friendly staff
The glasses of the windows are obscured. Though our room is opposite to the train station, we are unable to see the view. Lighting should be provided on the desk.
Lovely Hotel, convenient to the station. Very comfortable room, large bathroom. Friendly staff, good breakfast.
All around was a good visit. Clean place. Nice place. And staffed with quality people
Close to train station and metro.
Starshotel Anderson was a classy hotel. The staff was incredibly attentive. We were barely close to the door when the bellman took our bags. He quicky provided umbrellas at the first sign of rain. We had a drink at the bar and shared a glass of wine and a laugh with the barmaid. It was also so clean and modern. The rooms were very nice. Our room had a little table and chairs at the end of the bed. It was perfect! We immediately sat down at the table and discussed the day. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and they had a top sheet! The staff made dinner reservations for us, which was nice. There were several restaurants and cafes within walking distance and the area felt safe although we were quite close to the train station. It isn't really close to the Duomo, but easily accessible by public transportation. I recommend this hotel. Also, if you ride the "hop on, hop off' bus, you can just get off at the train station and walk to the hotel. Enjoy!
Very accessible to train station.
We enjoyed our stay. Everything was easy and everyone was friendly
Starhotels Anderson was very clean and classy. Staff was generally helpful and friendly. Room was big with two twin beds. Washroom very modern and clean. There’s an alarm in the washroom in case you have an accident . It’s central to everything… train, metro, food and even shopping. There’s a fantastic Chinese restaurant where there’s a buffet lunch. That was awesome. Food really delicious. Train station is across the road and metro not too far. A bit busy but that did not interfere with our sleep. I will definitely stay there again if I’m in Milan !
Love this property, right across from Milan train station that is connected to all the airports. Newly renovated and great bed and shower head.
Great place to hotel
This hotel is very nice. I was pleased with all it had to offer. The breakfast has many options, but some of it was not very good. Aside from that. Perfect stay.
Excellent hotel very convenient to Milan Central station
Very solid, modern hotel w/I easy walking distance of the Central Train Station.
Though the bell man was lovely upon arrival and the front reception was helpful. The room itself was very misleading, it was in very poor condition. The shower was open and cold. The room was very outdated and not very clean. The window was impossible to see out of it was so dirty. There was hair left in the tub when we checked in. The bed itself was very very uncomfortable, hard as a rock and very lumpy. The area around the hotel was unkept and didn’t feel like a safe neighbourhood. It felt like the photos gave a very different perception.
Love the location near the train station. Love the Hotel.
Quick two minute walk from the East side exit of the Milano Centrale station. Nice, clean rooms and helpful staff.
Great location right next to central station, great for a quick stay!
Starhotels Anderson was the perfect choice for my husband and my 4-night stay in Milan. We wanted to be close to the Milano Centrale train station and we chose this hotel for a combination of location, room choices, and price. The entire staff was extremely nice, helpful, and professional and our room couldn’t have been more comfortable. After walking for miles around Milan and taking various day trips on the train, we always looked forward to settling into our quiet room for an excellent night’s sleep. It’s a wonderful hub for exploring Milan as all modes of metro transportation are just across the street and we felt safe in the area even late at night. We would absolutely stay here again.
Unable to check in as they had cancelled the room. They did show us evidence they had contacted expedia about this in advance but we had no messages from expedia. We tried to check in as soon as check in opened but they had already resold our room and were full. One member of staff tried to find another hotel for us but couldnt and we found a different one on expedia. It seems as if it was expedia not the hotels issue, but its not entirely clear.
Excellent room and service
Clean and comfortable. Best night sleep in Italy.
We stayed one night on our way to Venice. Property is right near the train station so very convenient. Rooms are a bit small but perfect for our stay. Highly recommend this hotel as the staff were very helpful and friendly!
The property was walking distance to the train station and had noon checkout with buffet breakfast ending at 11 am which was all very convenient.
Hotel was in a great location. Great amenities, including slippers which I have not had in other hotels in ages. Complimentary wine was also nice.
The hotel is minutes from the train station, very convenient for everything. Its clean and has one of the best AC we had for the entire trip. the weather was 95 F when we were there and the AC made us felt great.
Very clean and comfortable
The A/C did not work, there was no soap in shower and this was our second room, the initial room on the top floor was noisy as there was a humming from the roof. The person that checked us in was extremely polite and pleasant.
Great stay and very convenient for Centrale station. Lovely staff and good facilities in the room
The hotel is 4 minutes walk from Milano Centrale - excellent location. We stayed for just one night. Both check-in and check-out staff are friendly, professional and helpful. Room is spacious, clean and everything functions properly. We wish we were staying longer!
This is just across the street from train station, and 1 minute walk to subway. Very convenient, and very quite. Inside is clean and comfortable. Really like this place.
Highlights: very convenient location for Milano Centrale (main train station), comfortable bed with good blackout curtains, kettle in the (spacious) room w/instant coffee and tea, clean hotel and friendly staff, and good temperature control a large window that lets in plenty of natural light and can open for fresh air. Also, the best range of toiletries I've had in a hotel in Europe (bar soap, sizable lotion, hair and body wash, and intimate wash). This is exactly what I was looking for as someone in the midst of a 3-week mostly train-based trip through five countries who isn't planning to spend much time in her hotel room but hugely values a good night's sleep, coffee in the room, and good toiletries (I don't take baths, but there is a tub for those who do). Things that I felt were minor but I could imagine might be relevant for others -- (a) there are steps descending into the lobby which would be problematic for anyone with mobility issues. I don't mind stairs and the staff were extremely proactive about helping, and I'd imagine there's a freight elevator for someone in a wheelchair, but still not the most mobility-friendly, (b) the hotel is a bit dark and some noise from other guests does bleed in--but in my experience this is largely unavoidable when traveling, and (c) I found it impossible to shower without spraying a ton of water onto the bathroom floor, due to the design of the nozzle and room. I'd definitely stay again.
Front desk was helpful. Easy access to transportation and restaurants. Breakfast variety was great.
Unfortunately the crime surrounding the near by train station is out of the property control. Great location and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Just keep in mind to avoid the train station at night or if you’re alone
Perfect location for early train travel.
Convenient, across from the train station. Several cafes close. 10 minutes to the Duomo. Very nice breakfast. Comfortable rooms.
Good location, clean & tidy
A great location - steps from the Milano Central Station for our arrival, steps to the bus to Linate airport. Very friendly and helpful staff, particularly appreciated as we don’t speak Italian. Large and well-appointed room with a better than average decor. In two weeks in Italy, the only room where the double bed was not two singles pushed together. Also, the best pillow (down - part of a selection of pillows in the room) Above average amenities (don’t often have a shoe polish glove - but it’s appreciated!) Enough outlets to charge everything. Planning a return visit.
Excellent hotel perfect position right near main train station. Very good breakfast, comfortable beds and helpful staff.
Excellent location
It’s just a quick walk from Milan Central station so trains, metro, buses and taxi are all there for getting around town. Really friendly and helpful staff. We stayed 4 nights and it was a comfortable stay
Very close to Milano centrale.
The property is great. Everything was perfect, including the very nice staff. My point here is only the neighborhood which I didn’t feel safe but in general the experience, especially with the property, was impeccable. I’d recommend this property to anyone. Just try to be inside at the property before the night comes. And, we know this is not a property fault.
The property was easy to find, it’s just on the other side of the bus and taxi stand. The staff were friendly and let us check in 30 minutes early which was nice after a long flight! The rooms were clean and very quiet.
Recommend
Great stay, very comfortable, spacious room, close to railway station. Would have got a 10 out of 10 except there is no mention that the Metro line runs under the hotel and trains can be heard rumbling by. Not a problem for me as a fan of all trains but I can imagine some visitors being frustrated. I imagine the higher you are in the hotel, the less you notice the trains….I was on the lowest floor. Despite that, it’s a great hotel and I would recommend it.
Our 8-day stay in Milan & with Starhotels Anderson
No photos to provide - unfortunately, however, take our word for it, this hotel is GREAT! The entire staff, from the front desk clerks, the housekeepers, and the very kind wait staff at the generous buffet breakfast (yes, the selection is very good! No complaints from my wife or myself),Starhotels Anderson here in Milan, is a wonderful establishment. And we would highly recommend it to those visiting Milan. The bathroom feels spacious, as is the shower. So important! The bed, comfortable with a firm mattress. Let me add, the bed pillows are good too. Not too soft or lumpy, but not so firm as to give my wife who has a sensitive back and neck issues, problems. And if you've ever slept on hotel pillows that were overly squishy, or as hard as rocks, then you will know what I am referring to. It must be tough for a hotel to try and find decent mattresses and pillows (linen too) that could meet enough requirements for a guest's decent night sleep, but Starhotels Anderson, manages to do just that. Again, would highly recommend them for your stay in Milan.
No complaints whatsoever
good sized rooms and very convenient to Milano Centrale. you just walk out of the station and look to your left and voila --- there it is! easy check in and the rooms are very modern and well appointed. very good breakfast buffet and many good dining options within easy walking distance of the hotel.
Another great stay - Rooms are always spotless - Staff very welcoming and great location easy access from Airport 5 minute walk to the office ... Always good to return ... Thanks
Easy and quick check in
Starhotels Anderson never fails to impress us. We have had the pleasure of staying at this lovely hotel many times. The location is so convenient and the rooms are nice. I especially like the fact that they offer bathtubs instead of just a small shower. In fact that is probably the main reason that we stay there. Staff is exceptionally nice also.
Great for quick overnight - comfy and clean.
Highly recommend
I really enjoyed staying at Starhotels Anderson. I stayed there twice total of four nights and each time the room was clean and pleasant, bed comfortable and service friendly and reliable. Ali at the reception desk was very welcoming and helpful and lady in the morning as well.
2nd and def the last time here.the service is great however the rooms are old. The showers is spoilt w poor water pressure. I didnt get the free upgrade promised instead they asked me to pay extra for it! What is more weird is that in this time and age..there isnt a power point beside the bed for charging handphones. The lack of power points..i had to charge my phone in the toilet. The kettle also took more than 15 mins to boil Not staying here again
I love the conveniences with the location , hotel situated on the opposite side of the metro station & train station. staffs are helpful , friendly , room is very clean.
The location of the hotel is very close to the train station, so it is convenient to travel. The service of the hotel staff was great. When I checked out of the hotel, I found that I had left my clothes in the hotel room. After I contacted the hotel reception, the staff found my clothes and kept it for me. The hotel offers different kinds of pillows, which is an especially good experience.
The hotel is nice with excellent service, clean rooms and next to the trains central station. What I did not like is the hotel entrance as you need to go down on the stairs as well as the lobby dark colors (black) and the lighting in the room as it was low.
Location is kind of convenient, a bit dirty the place, room has a smell like smoke and is noisy not only surroundings but also the heating system.
