Perfect
The Star Hotel was in a charming building. It's clearly older than you might find, say, in the US, but was clean and maintained. It was a bit of a walk to/from the Hammersmith station after a long travel days, but not terrible. The beds were OK. Bathroom was lovely. It was a bargain for two adults and two teens in our group. Protip- there's a Tesco just behind the wonderful bakery across the street. Stock up on your snacks and waters there.
Excellent value for money
Staff were very friendly, room was clean and comfy and a great location. Will be staying again
It was such a nice place. Close to train station. Personnel is so nice. Good acommodations.
Perfect simplicity
Wonderful stay, lovely greeting, very helpful. First thing I noticed was how fresh and clean the hotel smelled and looked. Bed comfy and room a really nice size
This hotel is like a Victorian house. The rooms are rather small but we only need it for sleeping since we are out all day long. Expedia stated that the room which has 2 twin beds sleeps 3. Thinking that the beds can be combined, I booked it. Evidently the hotel does not move and combine their beds. But, Staff went above and beyond in giving us extra room for the night, then transferred us in a triple room the next day. They even took care of loading our luggages to the room while we were out on a trip. Hotel is also close to Hammersmith train station, about 10 mins walk. Overall, our stay was excellent and would recommend this hotel.
Window dated, no elevator, temperature of water in shower not hot enough, charged us deposit and returned it to ys with a much currency. Staff helpful in carrying luggages up and down the steep stairs and giving us extra duvets in a cold night.
Paper thin walls.
Beautiful place close to the underground!! Lilian very polite and friendly!!! Excellent location!!!
I was very surprised by how good this hotel is for what I paid. Clean, quiet and convenient it has everything you need!
A great hotel , basic but has everything you need . Very clean and well cared for . You can get breakfast across the road or at Steak bar . Staff were so helpful . You can come and go as you please . Great value for money . We will be back xxxx
Great London stay for Earl’s Court and Westfield
Clean room, nice service, no problems at all.
Good value
Small hotel, good value, but on a main road, so a room at the front is a bit noisy traffic wise…
A great place in West London. Close to multiple tubes.
It's a very quaint property. Converted world war II era Victorian home. Be prepared to carry your luggage up flights of a very steep and narrow staircase. The rooms are quite small, but comfortable. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The only real drawback I can find with this property is that it's just down the street from a police station and we lost count of the number of emergency vehicles with sirens on that went down the street. .
Tiny but clean as a whistle
Had a lovely stay and was warmly greeted by reception. The room was cosy and I appreciated the extra pillow and blanket on the bed. The room and bathroom was also very clean and decorated to a good standard. Would definitely stay here again!
Great, helpful staff
great staff
Exceptionally friendly staff, very welcoming and explained everything clearly. Very happy with my stay
This an excellent value hotel in London. Basic but with everything you need. Hammersmith is a great area to base from and this hotel is close to the underground and plenty of restaurants and shops. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Very helpful staff. Rooms lovely and clean.
Good value hotel in a great location
Clean and convenient.
The Star Hotel is wonderful! Friendly, professional staff, conveniently located, lovely neighborhood, cosy and comfortable. I loved it!
I was surprised, it was a tiny but spotless place with very nice and helpful staff. Just remember - no lift so if you have a lot of heavy luggage - just inform the hotel earlier. Yummy Italian cafe opposite - recommended by staff.
Clean place! Great access to bus and subway.
good
Basic hotel, clean and comfortable. Overall good value. Good transport links.
Older building but nice upkeep. New windows with great view of the neighborhood. Convenient to buss end train. Walkable to restaurants. Safe neighborhood. Bathroom is updated. Shower is small but ok for our needs. No elevator. Beds were comfortable. Great Italian bakery across the street.
Location and ambiance
The area is nice. Very busy and a short walk to the train station. There is constantly sirens going by and the carpet seemed dirty.
Got locked in our room no air condition for one night water was not working in the shower have to walk up 53 stairs to take up your luggage
It’s four stars on the verge of three stars. Basically an old building of flats converted into a hotel. The rooms are just clean enough, but amenities are barebones. (Online pics show a free breakfast – but nope, not anymore.) Showerhead was broken, so washing was a struggle. Front desk is nice enough on check-in, but otherwise actively ignores anyone passing by. (It’s that kind of hotel.) The definition of “just a bed” – there’s no charm or anything special at all about The Star.
convenience to all
Our stay was amazing friendly staff, food was great and service was excellent
Great Hotel, room maybe small to others but for me is a perfect size for solo traveler; bathroom/shower and toilet great (modern). All good
Very clean and close to tube station
Nice clean room. Shower wasn’t great but fine for two night stay. Busy road but couldn’t hear too much with windows shut. Good for the price
We had a room with 3 single beds. The room was fine, no complaints. It was hot so we had the windows open and it can get noisy. But we were out most of the time. Staff were friendly. Location is good, close to underground, quite a few eating places nearby as well.
Comfortable room, if a little dated. In a convenient location with easy access to public transport. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Not up to Par. Even for a 2 Star accommodation
very poor experience. The door handle literally came off the door and into my hands when I first accessed the room. 2 out of 3 days, room service did not come in. the room was scorching hot and the fan supplied in the room wasn't"t working. When I indicated this to the front desk, they instructed me to try another plug??? In the end, I left a day early to avoid staying there any longer. A refund for that last day would be the appropriate thing for that establishment to do.
The location was perfect, very close to transport and shopping options
it's just so cute and quaint and walking distance from the hammersmith station
Overall my mother and I liked our stay here, especially thanks to the staff that really looked after us. However, it is a particularly noisy area on London and the rooms could be improved in a couple of ways. But you should be aware there are new owners and they're in the process of improving things and are very responsive to any guest requests and feedback.
Great location and value
Great location and value, worked great for a few days trip to London, family of four.
Great customer service very clean
When arrived lady on reception Lilyanna i think changed our room as my husband has trouble climbing stairs. Also we left our luggage and my husband forhot his jacket and they messaged to say we had left it. We collected it with the case thanks Claudio we would recommend this hotel
Noisy
It was noisy. Neighbors next door moving around and talking during the night.
The room is small but it is clean. Good location and reasonable price.
Super hotel in a great location.
Great location, close by to both Hammersmith and Shepherds Bush. Easy access, friendly staff, and just ideal for our short visit to London. Room had everything we needed, was comfortable, and no noise from traffic despite being on a busy road. Staff were very welcoming and helpful, and we would definitely consider the hotel for any future visits.
Room small but has all the essentials. Very clean. Central location close to Hammersmith station, which has 4 different lines running through and lots of dining options around.
Small boutique hotel with everything you need. Right on the street, very close to Tesco and restaurants. Walking distance to the tube.
It was a convenient location, but it was right on a very busy street and there was noise from the road 24/7.
The staff made up the room every day, the room was clean and pleasant , the only drawback was with the bed,it was a double bed, which made it very tight for my husband and I...but the area was great close to transportation and restaurants
Lovely hotel
Really nice, clean and comfortable room. Bathroom had modern fittings and perfectly clean. We had a room at the back of the hotel which didn’t face the road and so I expect that made it quieter than road facing rooms. Lovely stay overall.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and looked after my luggage when I arrived early and then after I checked out as I had a later flight. Location was decent and equal distance walk from either Hammersmith tube or Shepherds Bush Market stations. Hotel was spotless and very quiet considering it is on a main road. My only very small negative was water pressure in shower wasn't very high but that is probably down to my own preferences. I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here in future.
The staff were accommodating and communicated very well! Great stay!
Basic but clean
Friendly and easy check in. Good area in Hammersmith. No complaints
Super nice staff. Very basic room. Area around the property was very very noisy.
2 star
Hotel is in a nice area and a 10 minute walk to the underground. They charge 8 Euro to use the air conditioner. Room was clean but some of the outlets did not work. Hotel is alright for a 1 night stay but I will not be staying here again.
Very good hotel. The only downside is the noisy high street day and night .
This hotel exceeded my expectations. It was the cheapest I could find for myself, wife and two “children”. It was decent walking distance from Hammersmith tube but on our walk home there were some dodgy characters around. The hotel itself was brilliant. Very helpful lady on arrival. The room was clean and the shower room was very clean too. Aircon is £8 a night extra but we didn’t need it as we left the windows open during the afternoon. The only real negative we can give is the double bed felt smaller than we are used to. It wasn’t uncomfortable though. I am very pleased and would use again
Just great
Great ground floor room. Found overall stay was great. Friendly and helpful staff. Great location for food and choice of train stations for getting about.
Nice stay in Hammersmith
Easy check in and friendly staff. No lift and narrow staircase to upper floors. Basic room with a shower that took a while to get hot. Absolutely fine for what we paid. Nice area.
The location was great, only 10 minute walk to the tube station. There were lots of pubs and cafes in the area. The wifi was un-usable, there was no air conditioning and street noise was too loud to have window opened. The bed was not comfortable but the room was clean.
Good
Stay at the star.
This hotel may not have a glitzy reception area but the staff are welcoming and very helpful. The room was very clean and everything worked in the room with the usual hotel tea and coffee making facilities. We were a bit concerned that there maybe a lot of coming and going noise late at night but as the evening drew in you could here a pin drop. We would definitely use this hotel again
Nice safe place in London
Comfortable but a little noisy. Air conditioner cost extra, and I'm not sure it worked, I could not find instructions. Other USB plugs did not work, but most did. It did feel safe and nice.
The service was very kind and available. The service for room cleaning was fantastic. I would recommend it.
Really good quality-price. Walking distance from Hammersmith metro station. The only but, thin walls and no elevator. Make sure to ask for a lower floor if you have a heavy suitcase.
Staycation getaway
Excellent location close to local transport and easy to access city. Clean and comfortable hotel with peaceful surroundings. Staff are friendly and helpful though no need to contact them due to everything being available and no concerns with room/stay. Lovely hotel and definitely value for money. Would stay again and recommend to others. Thank you for a hassle free stay.
Basic but spotlessly clean
Good location but basic standard
Good location but tired and dated. No lift for luggage and bizarrely early checkout.
5 stars for “The Star”
Really friendly staff on arrival and leaving. You could smell how clean it was when we walked in the room. Bed very comfortable. Facilities (kettle, tea and coffee) fine, possibly decaf versions these days? A good experience, highly recommended, pleasant area with a superb Italian coffee shop across the road! Would return if in London again.
Budget hotel but very clean and would absolutely stay again!
Very nice hotel, superb staff. Short walk to underground and overground trains.
Very nice little hotel with all new rooms (furnishings, brand new bath). And Lilliam at the front desk was so friendly, helpful, and patient. Loved her!
Great location. Clean room. Safe and walkable area, close to a grocery store, dining options around the neighborhood, transportation access to tube or bus. My plane departure from (LHR- Heathrow) and by tube you get directly to the airport saving time and money. Wonderful
Staff were lovely and friendly. There was a smell of fast food in the Reception area and in our room in the evening. The room was comfortable, clean and tidy, however the en suite was very small and there was lots of traffic noise.
Average
Great place to stay!
We really enjoyed our 5 nights. Beds were super comfortable and it was quiet. We were on the top floor at the back - slept with the window open every night and it was fine. The people at the front desk were great! Area is very safe - a couple of nights we came home around 11 pm and no issue what so ever. There is a little Italian place across the street that served a delicious lemongrass and ginger tea. The Underground was a 10 min walk south or a 13 min walk north. We would definitely stay here again!
Nice and functional
It was ok, nothing bad, it wasnt luxury but functional. The top floor was pretty warm, even in April. The staff were friendly when we saw them. Everything was clean and tidy. The location is nice, has lots of cafes nearby and in easy distance to tube stations.
Clean and comfy!!
Lovely room for three friends wanting own beds for one night. Mattresses were super comfy, and the bedding was clean, no stains and well presented. Thin pillows but for one night I didn’t mind. The bathroom was really well kept, and very clean. The complimentary shower gel/shampoo smelt amazing!! Pleasant staff members also :) 10/10!
Would recommend 👌
We stayed one night as attending an event at the Apollo which this hotel is closely located to. The hotel is very clean and simple. The staff were friendly and polite. Check-in was super-quick. Shampoo/body wash and soap provided. Towels, hair dryer and adequate storage space. Bed was comfortable. No complaints.
Nice property and friendly staff. We felt safe walking around even late at night. The rooms were very clean, housekeeping done every day. The rooms are kinda small but we maximized our space. The bathroom is bigger than we expected! Everything overall was very clean and this hotel is near 2 transportation areas so very easy to find transportation on either the tube or bus.
Clean and efficient
Room was clean with all necessary amenities. Small comfortable bed. The room gets very warm in the afternoon when the sun is out. Blackout curtains help, but then you are in the dark so a fan would be a welcome addition. Can get noisy with street traffic and nearby rooms. Nice area with many restaurants. 8 min walk to the Tube station.
Really happy stay 😃
My sister & me stayed in the Star Hotel for one night on Good Friday. We had come up to London to see a band at the Eventim Apollo. When we first walked in the hotel we were greeted by a lovely member of staff who explained everything we needed to know regarding the hotel and H&S reminders. It was very clean and spotless and smelt clean as well. All staff members were polite and helpful. We would stay at this hotel again and are happy to recommend this hotel to others.
Nice quiet area, close to transport All amenities good
Clean and good pricing
We liked the location and the cost. It was near Hammersmith Metro Station (10 minute walk at most) and the price was great.
I had a great stay at the Star Hotel. My room was very clean and had everything that I needed. My room was at the back so was quite quiet. The location is very convenient and a short walk to a few different tube stations and many bus stops. There are also plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. The hotel staff were all friendly and welcoming. Thanks for a great stay.
Lilliam (sp) was an amazing host. The Star Hotel was clean and quiet. Wonderful visit. Would highly recommend!
Pleasant stay
Was greeted warmly at check-in. Newly remodeled room, including bath. Great location not far from the Tube station (District, Piccadilly, and Circle lines). Tesco is close by as are several restaurants.
The hotel is in a nice part of Hammersmith about a five minute walk from the tube station. Shepherds Bush is about the same distance away. The staff on the desk were friendly and helpful and overall the hotel is decent value. I'd stay again
This is a charming, old building that's been converted to a hotel, with rooms of various sizes and shapes. Do be aware there's no elevator so you'll probably have to climb stairs, and the shower in our room was REALLY small. Other than that, it was great. About a 10 minute walk to the Hammersmith Underground station.
You're a star!
The room was small, but not claustrophobic. Very clean tidy, wifi very effective, staff very friendly. Close to amenities such as restaurant and transport. Although the room was above a busy road, the window was well insulated so noise wasn't a problem.
Great service

The property is so cute and an easy walk to the train station to get downtown, the staff was absolutely lovely and so easy to ask questions about the local spots.
