The Hotel is very dated
The 1 bedroom apartment was beautiful. Well laid out, immaculate and well maintained.
The room a it
It was in a great spot and we had a peaceful night. The price was also good.
Lovely place to stay
Always a lovely place to stay. Good to have concierge service again after Covid. Only gripe is the Harry’s bar never seems to be open very late, so you have to go down the street to Vic’s bar
I loved the glass lifts, so good for someone that suffers with claustrophobia, more hotels etc should have them! Staff very friendly and helpful. Bed comfortable but pillows uncomfortable. The hotel is dated, I realise some rooms are being updated and when complete will be far better. Foyer/restaurant also need an update. I would return, great location.
Parking too hard to access.
Spa bath disappointing . Would not stay on long .
Almost old world charm
Entering into old world charm almost Spa jetted bath the highlight Entry afterhours difficult
Amazing decor & so quiet!
2 night stay as a solo traveller! A wonder 15th floor suite. Gorgeous interior finishes & design with amazing staff. This made up for thr lack of view! Easy walk from the trams on Collins & Bourke, theatres & places of interest. I felt very safe & loved the comfy bed & awesome pillows. Staff were excellent & very approachable!! Highly recommend.
The bathroom felt dirty as there was a long hair in the bath and mould around the tiles The pool was tiny and no room to swim if a few people weee in it and the gym equipment was very poor
Weekend rrip
Found wbayire bathroom a bit cramped with toilet right next to bath and grout in tiles showed some signs of needing cleaning. Brass on fittings was faded. Bed was comfortable. Struggled with operating heating in room. Panel didn’t always respond to change increase or decrease. Buffet breakfast was good value for $36 per person. Classic slightly old styled furniture but comfortable.
Good
decent place close to where we needed to be
Our go to for our city stays, lovely staff, beautiful spacious rooms and the comfiest of beds for a great sleep
Rooms are old & dilapidated Needs renovations. Spa suite looked great in photos, room is actually tiny . Spa is just a bath with old school jets. If you fart you'd get more bubbles. We booked 2 nights. Stayed for 1, Checked out & went elsewhere. Convenient location of this hotel is good if you're in town for business. Wouldn't recommend for pleasure.
The staff were always extremely friendly. The problem was parking. I have a vehicle that needs 2.1 clearance which I clarified with hotel before booking stay. They sent me to two parks that had only 2m clearance. Then I had to end up finding my own parking which cost a fortune. It wasted an hour and a half at check in. Also whilst staying we ordered room service. They ignored our request and the meal I ordered only came with half the items described in menu and on pictures. All other parts of stay were great!
We loved everything about the hotel! Many dining options, great distance to everything, free tram nearby, free self-service laundry, warm indoor pool, apples available daily, and soooo much more!
Worth the price
The air conditioning unit was malfunctioning, and I requested that the room be tidied up. The cleaner left a rubbish bag next to my luggage. The check-in process was extremely slow.
The room was spacious and well appointed. The service, whilst not terrible, needs improving. We had to wait some time to collect our keys as there was only one person on the counter. We were assured our bags would/are in our room. They werent. Breakfast was ordinary with little service. Its a shame as this will remain with us when deciding where to stay in future
Chek in was pathetic, appallingly slow. The rest of the stay was perfect, and checkout was seamless.
Overall property is clean. Rooms are a bit dated. The 2nd day the room were serviced but not cleaned and just replaced the amenities and straightened the bed. The 3rd day it was properly tidied and clean. Harry’s bar under staffed. Lots of dirty glasses on display on the bar and it was only 7pm.
Great Melbourne hotel
Perfect location, service and facilities
Loved everything about it until i went to the breakfast. Not worth the money, disappointing
From check in to check out, the service was average. Staff didnt even greet customer upon check in. It was busy and there was a queue, one of the guest jump the queue and the staff didnt even bother! Housekeeping didnt replenish tea and toilet paper. Have to call reception to request.Hotel location is good. Thats pretty much the only good thing abt the place.
The location was great for our needs while we were in town.
Lovely hotel friendly staff. Very comply beds.
Slow check in but room was great, comfy bed and seating area.
customer service excellent, nothing was a bother
Large room; spacious; friendly and attentive staff. Aircon was tricky and unusable (the room was very hot overnight) Carparking was a little tricky, however could navigate. Breakfast was lovely-basic, but everything you needed. Lack of staff at breakfast time seemed an issue, there was abrupt staff manning the cooking stations. Overall, very convenient,
Not 5 star at all. Breakfast is old Had to be reminded to clean room Pool average sauna not working
Staff and hoisekee
Loved it, very clean and spacious, well set out rooms and very polite and friendly staff
Like the location, room size and amenities. Bed could have been a little more comfortable but overall enjoyed our stay
Rooms could use an update but has everything you need and in a really convenient spot
Difficult to fault. Staff were amazing. Room was spacious and exceeded expectations.
The room was clean and had all the amenities. Staff very helpful.
The hotel is in a convenient location. I enjoyed the buffet breakfast and got a thrill riding up and down in the glass elevator.
I love the large rooms, and the spa-bath to soak after a long day. Great location too.
For a 5 star hotel I was extremely disappointed the cleanliness of the room was absolutely awful mould in the bathroom filthy windows cracks in the bath and also in the hand sink. Widows were disgusting like they haven’t been clean in so long. The little outdoor area was filthy could not even get close as you will get dirt and spider webs clearly visible. Below are just a few examples.
Great breakfast and lively room
We stay here for most visits to Melbourne. Obviously we keep coming back, but it's a little tired. It's old an should have a freshen up sometime soon. The staff are nice and the rooms are ok.
Easy to access all areas of Melbourne CBD.
A great location from which to explore Melbourne’s many bars, cafes, restaurants & shops. While the staff are lovely, the hotel itself is tired & dated & most of the rooms don’t offer much of a view or natural light out of the tiny window.
We had and awesome stay. Even scored a free room upgrade.
Do t have breakfast
Check in was slow My room was partly serviced (???) Breakfast was terrible. Unprepared but only went one day. It was like a food court
Thank you so much, we’ve had a wonderful time at your hotel!
Condition is okay, and there is a spa and pool. but Sauna is not worked.
Great location
Staff are friendly and professional, The hotel in general feels very outdated and the breakfast restaurant resembled a food court. The room was comfortable and plenty of space but the bathroom felt very pokey. The parking is available off-site and only a 5 minute walk. Location of this hotel is best, very easy to walk around the city.
Great hotel, didn't rate the restaurant.
Beautiful hotel with old fashioned service. Close to shops, theatres, restaurants and public transport. Ideal location for a trip to Melbourne. We dined at the in house restaurant the first night and the steak was terrible which was really disappointing when I'd paid $48 plus an extra $10 for vegetables.
Excellent hotel, would definitely stay again and recommend to others.
Shower was over the bath and not easily accessible with the glass screen in place. Check in was delayed as room hadn't been cleaned on time. Good location to trams stop
It’s a well located hotel but a little tired. The beds are comfy and everything is clean, but the staff need to be better at knowing where the quiet rooms are located, especially when I specified I’d rather have a quiet room than an upgrade. I was on a low floor and couldn’t sleep due to all the noise from neighbouring rooms and the lift pinging. Thankfully a staff member was able to change the pinging lift noise to elsewhere, but I didn’t appreciate having to complain about it, especially since I requested a quiet room.
Staff were excellent and so helpful. Thankyou
We had only a 1 night stay but found the Stamford Plaza Melbourne full of charm, clean and beautifully presented. Staff were efficient and friendly. Well done!
Great stay at this property, great location, friendly staff. Rooms themselves are a little outdated but do the job. Pool area was beautiful!
Always fantastic 5star
Will definitely be back again soon
The location of this hotel was great, being close to Flinders Lane dining and bars, walking distance to galleries, shopping and the beautiful laneways of Melbourne. The staff were excellent. The place was clean. The pool looked nice. The decor was a little dated but still nice. I didn't like the closed in feeling in the room without a proper view out of the window. I was disappointed with the gluten free options at breakfast and actually the whole breakfast was disappointing and it would have been better to go to one of the many cafes close by. The location and price made it a good option for us to stay but next time I'd forego paying for breakfast.
Good older hotel, big rooms, polite staff and great breakfast. Weve been staying here for years but its definatley due for an update to the rooms
Great place to stay ! Will be back
It felt elegant from the start; the porter took our luggage to our room which was great. The staff helped us with a slightly early check in as we had meetings to attend. All staff everywhere were very accommodating and helpful. Great Buffet Breakfast. Harry's bar - delicious food. We had the Seafood Chowder and Wonton Noodle soup and it was delicious! Really relaxing atmosphere.
Faultless other than price of mini bar $5 for a small bottle of water? As well as other products being overpriced expect to pay more but really?
Great location within walking distance to shopping and Rod Laver arena, MCG etc
Nice area
Very good
The Stamford Plaza Hotel is a charming comfortable hotel well situated in Melbourne CBD.
Comfortable beds. Good breakfast.
Reception is in a different building to the accommodation and dining. Please get rid of those revolving doors! So inconvenient and a real hassle - automatic opening doors would be way simpler for people trying to move luggage and other bags. Great elevators. Rooms aren't sound proof - you can hear what is going on next door and in the hallway. Bathroom was really inconveniently small and poorly designed if there are two people staying in the room.
Terrible customer service. Lost my booking, used wotif as the reason. Advised wotif hadnt paid the hotel for the booking. Locked out of room twice. Ended up leaving due to treatment & staying in another hotel. Hotel has gone downhill.
All staff members that I was served by were truly outstanding! Efficient and very friendly, which made for an all around fantastic stay!
Beautiful rooms, great facilities. Very clean. Close to CBD, cafes and restaurants.
Perfect Melbourne City base.
Great location easy walking around Melbourne, very spacious accommodation with sitting room, kitchen area and bathroom with spa bath at fabulous price. Highly recommended.
.
Checkin was a disaster and took over 30 minutes

We really enjoyed our getaway to the Stamford plaza. Dining was great and rooms were really nice. Spa was great too.
Fabulous hotel if your staying with children, good pool facilities and nice comfortable rooms with kitchenette. Very clean and comfortable.
Convenient to Melbourne theatres at the "Paris End" of Little Collins Street. Some parking code hiccups after bag drop-off, and swimming pool seemed a bit murky, but yet another Harry's Bar and authentic Asian cuisine made up.
This is a really nice hotel and the service is lovely! It’s walking distance to a lot of the train stations and restaurants. Only down side to is there are some extra fees to pay for when you check in and out phones would only charge when we had the “master light” on
Helpful staff at front desk.
Great swimming pool & spa. Room service had really nice food. Housekeeping were prompt & efficient. Breakfast was delicious
good size room and location.
Good sized room. Good location. Parking not on site but close enough.
Our visit started poorly with the reception providing the wrong times for the restaurant. Then telling us there was no onsite parking, as my partner has walking difficulties this was a problem, and had we been told initially we would not have booked. Next the cleaning of the room was poor with black mold growing in the bathroom and cracked broken tiles visible. On discussion with reception and making sure they were aware I did not want to change rooms or have a financial offer put in place, and clearly stated a simple we are sorry. Ensuring the manager understood we did not want anything from them, they provided a bottle of red wine, having previously informed them we were not drinkers. Other minor problems, Breakfast, we removed from our chosen seating positions because there was to be a corporate event and our seating was required, this could easily have been avoided by asking us to sit in the other dinning area initially. Of an evening we decided to have a non alcoholic drink, I purchased a diet coke. this drink had no flavor I spoke with the bar manager who proceeded to poor another drink to taste himself, he did not place any syrup in the water and stated there was not a problem with the mix! Over all a very disappointing visit to what was supposed to be a five star hotel, In my opinion a three start at most.
Rooms were very clean and bed comfortable however bathroom very small and dated with mold on the ceiling - wardrobe non existent and no power points by the bed making it difficult to charge phones by bed - great location
Very large comfortable room. The most comfortable bed we had our entire trip. The location is perfect
Great service from the staff. Handy location to the top end of the city and well appointed rooms. Would like to see the cleanliness of the rooms improve though.
Room very spacious
Great location but too many mentally compromised homeless people making screaming and harassing people. Felt unsafe.
Charles Rahim enjoyed staying at the Stamford Hotel in Collins Street, Melbourne in 2025. The room was a suite and very well appointed.
Na
Loved my stay here, fabulous location and a clean comfortable room.
Would recommend.
Everything was great. Very nice room and convenient location. Lots of hot water but not much cold so be very careful starting a shower.
.
Old hotel in need of renovation. Power box was humming all night and zero sleep. The breakfast was woeful, putrid bacon and having no orange juice for breakfast is very ordinary
clean, quiet.
I had an amazing stay at The Stamford Plaza Melbourne, which is always my top choice whenever I visit the city. The hotel's location is unbeatable—right in the heart of Melbourne, with everything you need just a short walk away. Whether you're in the mood for dining, a shopping spree, or exploring the city's famous landmarks, you're perfectly positioned. Public transport is also easily accessible, making it convenient to get around. I stayed in the King Suite, and it was fantastic! The room was incredibly spacious, immaculately clean, and well-appointed with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The bed and pillows were super plush, ensuring a restful sleep after a long day out. Another highlight was the superfast internet, which made streaming, work, and browsing effortless—a definite bonus for both business and leisure travelers. Overall, The Stamford Plaza continues to exceed my expectations with its excellent service, prime location, and top-notch amenities. I highly recommend it and will definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Melbourne!
Would stay there again. The only issues was very hard to locate the carpark entry. Lacks signage.
Great place to stay.

Quiet location however rooms are dated and in need of maintenance/renovation. Bed was comfortable however there is no real view from any windows. Breakfast was the usual options for a buffet and staff were friendly. While I included breakfast with my booking I didn’t think it was worth the approximate $30 per day for a solo traveller.
