Great location

Excellent location on the edge of the old town and right next to the funicular up to Schlossberg. Rooms are very modern and well kept, plus parking is safe and secure in the hotel grounds for €12.

Expensive rate hotel compared with Hotels.com

I stayed 1 extra night and the hotel charged more than double than the rate from hotels.com. Experience was disappointed

Solid city hotel close to the Münster

Good location. Decent breakfast buffet. I obtained an upgrade due to overbooking but the room was next the to stairway and less comfortable than expected. Overall experience was positive though.

Smart to have a remote for a smart TV?

I booked a room in this hotel as a bit of a treat for the night and intended on ralaxing and watching some TV after a good adventure around Freiburg (beautiful city). Unfortunately the room didn't have a TV remote, staff couldn't find a spare so I was stuck with one German channel which I couldn't understand. Completely pointless, room felt more like a prison cell, ruined the stay and I checked out much earlier than initially planned.

Typical German stay

Good room, a bit small, hit our heads on slopes ceilings a few times. Just enough room to open our suitcase and still walk around. A bit dated in the hallways, but well appointed, and good breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful. Not a convenient distance from the Bahnhof if your carry g or rolling luggage.

Good location

Main advantage is the htl's location for exploring the city, which is a short 5 min walk away. Room was very clean and staff very friendly, welcoming and spoke English. Unfortunately we didnt use any of the htl facilities so are not able to comment.

Great room -- but a lack of air conditioning made the room difficult to sleep in. That was my only complaint. A small inclusive breakfast would be nice, even if it's just a croissant and coffee. A slow upgrade to AC may be needed! Other than that, the staff were mind, offered iced tea upon my arrival, and answered all of my questions. It's a great location. Worth it for the price. Rooms were also quiet!

One night only

Easy to find and a very pleasant stay. Nice mix of ultra modern minimalist room and more traditional decor in communal areas. Watch out when parking on the street though outside the hotel - I was advised to get an all day ticket at the machine (which I did) but still got a polite fine after one night for not having the required 'green sticker' while parked in a low emissions zone!

Nice hotel!

This hotel is totally so clean and comfortable and staffs are always helpful for us. I think it's a bit expensive for student but I thought i wish I had stayed more! If you come to Freiburg,I recommend to stay here.

KHR Hotel Freiburg

I travelled to Freiburg for the weihnachtsmarkt. In fact, Freiburg has a lot to offer: shopping, outdoor pursuits. The old part of the city is very beautiful. Transport is fairly easy.: you an buy an all day tram pass (the machines have an english facility if you don't speak german). The hotel is within walking distance from the main railway station - only about ten (brisk) minutes. The hotel staff are very helpful. The rooms are a bit small (I booked a single), but they are very clean and warm. Each room has an extensive welcome pack which was very good. The breakfast was excellent!!!!! There was a lot of choice and a lot to eat. Best hotel breakfast I have had. You can eat at night, and again the meals are good. Inspite of this I do not think I would stay there again, not as a single traveller. The hotel is large and I felt a bit alienated sitting in the lounge/restaurant on my own. I felt it more suited groups rather than individual travellers, and it seemed to lack that 'personal' touch. In a busier season I might feel differently.

Returned for a second night.

Great and friendly staff. The only issue was the internet was down. The staff arranged internet usage in the hotel across the street. That was a decent fix. Superb location and well-priced!

Very Good

We stayed at this hotel during a four week motorcycle tour of Europe. The hotel was very clean and in a good location for a short walk to the city centre. The staff were very helpful and friendly and made our stay very enjoyable. There was parking for vehicles in a courtyard at the back of the hotel. There were no hidden charges unlike some hotels we've used.

Practical choice, close to the old town

The hotel was exactly what's expected and good value for the price. Couple things to be aware of: 1) parking in the streets around is nearly impossible, difficult to find a spot. Parking in hotel's courtyard is extra 10E/night, the spaces are very narrow and limited; 2) hotel doesn't have AC (at least my room didn't), temp-wise it wasn't a problem, but I had to keep the window cracked and there was quite a bit of noise from the street.

Close to the beer garten

Easy to find. Son was happy about the free WiFi. Are staff really helpful and directed us to a great beer garden. Just might take the wife next time.

Nice Hotel close to old downtown Zurich

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel in Zurich. Zurich is expensive and this hotel is similar to a hotel that you would pay $100/night for some where else. The price is the only reason that I did not give this hotel 5 stars. The staff were very nice. They provided us with a map and gave us some ideas about things to do in the pouring rain.

Nice hotel

It took me some time to find the hotel. It's not near to the main train station but close to the old town area. I think it's about 20-25 minutes walk if you have luggage. Although the interior of the hotel looks old, it's quite modern and nice inside the room. The room is spacious, comfortable and clean. It's surprised that there is a small balcony. Note for someone who are like me loves tea. There is no electrical kettle or free water or coffee machine in the room. This is typical in German hotels. It bothers me a bit that there is no "Do not disturb" sign. And there is no way to lock the room. The cleaning staff can come in any time, I mean any time! One day she came in when I was in the bathroom.

Wonderful restaurant

Lovely hotel within walking distance of the city centre. Staff spoke good English and were helpful with parking (there is no parking at the hotel and most multi stories are closed on the weekend - on street parking can get expensive). We ate in the restaurant and the food was fantastic annd the service impeccable.

Neat hotel in the old town

It was cozy clean small hotel for stay. The hotel staffs were nice but hard to get requested items during the stay.

Very good hotel, excellent breakfast

A very good, unpretentious hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Their English was good. I received a complimentary upgrade from single to double bed on check in. My room was small, but more than adequate for a single traveler. The bathroom did not have a bathtub (shower only) which is always disappointing for me because I like to take a relaxing hot bath when I'm on holiday, but I've come to expect shower only when I travel in Europe. The breakfast buffet was not included in the room price but it was very good. It featured all the breakfast standards plus some distinctive German items like bloodwurst and liverwurst. It also included a Belgian Waffle press and a juicer for carrot juice and apple juice. The location was very good, near the centre of Freiburg, a short walk to the hiking paths and train station. That being said, most hotels in Freiburg are well situated because its a such a small pedestrian-friendly town. I did not use the spa but it looked like it offered good services and facilities. I wish they offered bicycles to rent. A local bike shop did offer rentals but had high prices and required a large cash deposit.

Hotel not too far from old city.

Hotel was convenient to sights in Freiburg and about 15 minute walk to Hauptebahnhof. Off street parking for a fee. Breakfast for a fee. Staff was a bit cold but spoke good english. Rooms were clean and a little larger than some in Germany.

Short stay in Freiburg

Great central location, with friendly and helpful staff.

Disappointing.

This place is only ideal due to its location and proximity to the old town. The decor of the hoel is a bit dated, and the rooms, even for one person, were quite cramped. The cleaning staff seemed to rush you out of your room, with one cleaning lady coming into my room whilst I was in the shower. I heard the door close so I can only assume that noticed I was still occupying the room. Check out was latest 12pm, so there should of been no need for them to rush us out. Bed was not the comfortable, especially the pillows. BUt it was quiet which was good. Service didn't come with great smiles, and a fortune was charged for the breakfast. Don#t pay the astronomical price for the breakfast. Go to one of the close bakeries or coffee shops (or better yet, markets in the old town on friday morning). The room was quite hot, but a fan was supplied for that was good. Choice of TV stations was not that great. Free use of computer with internet was supplied in the lobby, but it was so slow Im sure it was dial up as it kept dropping out. I wouldn't really recommend this place unless you could not find anything better.

I was very happy with the room. The buffet breakfast was not included and you had to pay to park on public streets. The location was great, walking distant to everything. The room and staff were more than acceptable.

Very clean and nice hotel

The hotel is in very close to the city center and in walking distance to the main shopping areas. We had a great room including a nice bath tub that was big enough for two. However this is only available if booking a deluxe room which is more expensive than the others. The breakfast is amazing and offers everything you can ask for. The room was very clean and there were no bad things that i can remember about it.

Great Location!

Very close walking distance to the Freiburg historic district. The only comment was that when we checked-in, the receptionist gave us breakfast cards for the next morning. My reservation did not include breakfast, so I asked about the price, which was about 12 EUR. Just be aware, if your reservation includes breakfast or not. We were able to park at the hotel surface lot for 10 EUR. Had to leave the car keys at the front desk, so they can move the car due to double parking. There is a gate for security. The room has all the basic necessities and comfortable beds. Overall great hotel to stay.

Great place to stay!

Really enjoyed our star at this hotel. Perfect location and easy to get to from the train/bus. Accommodation was of a very high standard - really good value.

Not a good experience!! Felt misled

We reserved a room and asked for a rollaway bed, when we arrived we were given a very small room that would not accomodate a rollaway. It was the smallest hotel room we have ever seen. [...] Also wifi internet did not work

Nice Hotel in good location

Nice clean hotel only two blocks from the old city pedestrian zone. Don't waste your money on the expensive breaskfast, there is a little bakery literally steps away where you can get coffee and goodies in the morning. There is a parking gararge very close as well although it will cost 15 euros a night. The bed was a bit uncomfortable but other than that we were very pleased.

Stadthotel består av 3 hoteller. Bildene viser de nyere rom, men det ene bygget er svært gammelt. Det lukter frityr i gangen som gjør at klærne dine lukter frityr. Madrassene og dynene må byttes ut, rommene er shabby og trenger et godt strøk med maling. Skulle bli der i 5 netter men byttet hotell etter 2. Du hører naboen bruke badet.

Hat alles gut gepasst für unseren kurzen Aufenthalt.

Ich bin zum dritte mal an diesen hotel und gefällt mich immer mehr.die einrichtung im zimmer sehr gut.und alles nähe restaurant und sehr nähe in der münsterplatz zu fuss erreich.und so viele laden wenn mal lust zum einkaufen die personal in der rezeption es sehr nett problem los zum einchecken und auschecken.sehr empfehlen wert.frühstück sehr grosse auswahl.

J’étais très déçue par la chambre pour un hôtel 3 étoiles il ne mérite pas les 3 étoiles puisque la literie n’était pas du tout confortable il n’y avait ni cafetière ni bouilloire ni café thé et eau gratuit comme dans nos hôtels 3 étoiles en France la chambre était sale au sol pleins de toiles d’araignées dans un coin et situé tout o fond du couloir derrière une porte c’était la plus mauvaise chambre ! Je ne recommande pas du tout ! En plus sur le site il disait que le personnel était polyglotte alors qu’aucun ne parlait français je n’avais aucun moyen de me plaindre malheureusement c’était scandaleux mais j’étais patiente et supportée pour 4 nuits mais plus jamais je retournerai là bas

Cani ammessi con supplemento di 12 euro ciascuno; camera minimale sia nelle dotazioni che negli spazi con un buon rapporto qualità prezzo: ottima per noi che ci siamo rimasti solo una notte; posizione fantastica rispetto al centro storico; non c'era l'aria condizionata ma in ventilatore che ha comunque aiutato molto contro il caldo; la pulizia poteva essere migliore ma nel complesso era sufficiente; frigo, phon, asciugamani e shampoo doccia presenti; davvero molto graditi gli orsetti gommosi e la bottiglia d'acqua di benvenuto.

Restaurant lukket

Restauranten som var oplyst ved bestilling var ikke åben. Det er ikke i orden når man er dårlig gående og skal op i byen for at finde en. Parkering til rådighed - det kunne hotellet heller ikke leve op til- find en offentlig p plads var beskeden. Igen en belastning for dårlig gående.

Das Hotel war sehr gut und ich würde es weiterempfehlen und wieder buchen. Die Lage war perfekt und man war innerhalb von 5 min in der Stadt. Zum Frühstück gab es eine gute Auswahl. Ich ziehe einen Stern bei der Einrichtung der Unterkunft ab, da die Couch sehr hart war und keine Klimaanlage im Zimmer vorhanden ist. Es war relativ warm im Zimmer und schwer zu lüften, da die Straße zu laut war, um das Fenster über Nacht geöffnet zu halten. Dennoch ein sehr gutes Hotel für unseren Städtetrip für zwei Nächte.

es dauerte 10 Mikuten bis jemand zum Rezeptipn kommt. es gibt ein Paar Stufen beim Eingang. das Frühstück ist wunderbar!

La experiencia en el hotel ha sido muy buena, la habitación estaba muy nueva y acondicionada, nos pusieron un hervidor y una cuna para el bebé cuando lo pedimos y nos han tratado muy bien.

Hébergement éffectué dans un hôtel contiguë mais pas celui vu dans l'annonce . La chambre est propre ,le personnel aimable et souriant

La habitación que nos dieron era de dos pisos, y las recamaras estaban arriba. Viajé con mi mamá que es grande de edad y ademas arriba no tienes espacio para poner maletas, entonces tienes que estar bajando y subiendo. Los cuartos muy limpios, pero el hotel en algunas áreas se ve descuidado.

Das Hotel war wirklich schön, das Bett war gemütlich und es war ruhig. Der Service war auch klasse.

Dusty and really warm room. Uncomfortable beds

Unser Aufenthalt war nur eine Nacht , wir waren in Stadt kommen wir zurück ging unser Zimmer Tür nicht auf müssten wir warten bis jemand kommt und die Tür auf machen kann , das hisste Batterie war leer manuell wurde Tür aufgemacht , im Zimmer war nicht eine Mülleimer oder eine Müllbeutel.

Eher kleines Zimmer. Zimmer war nicht klimatisiert, bei 30 Grad Aussentemp. eine Zumutung. Ansonsten gutes Hotel mit zentraler Lage

Parkplatz hat gefehlt und da der Aufenthalt über Ostern war, war das Parkhaus abgeschlossen und für mich ein kaum lösbares Problem! Das ich das Auto frei bekam, wurde mir kaum bzw. nicht gesagt. Sonst war alles super!

Das Personal war super nett und freundlich, insbesondere die Frau Jehle. Sie hat mich so herzlich begrüßt und man spürt, dass sie Ihre Arbeit ganz vom Herzen macht. Wegen des Personals würde ich immer wieder kommen. Das Zimmer war Sauber und warm. Alles war super. Ich bedanke mich bei der Frau Jehle nochmal für Ihre ehrliche Arbeit!

Excellente situation

En fait pour raison de covid19, l'hôtel réservé était fermé..... Une affiche sur la porte nous a demandé de se rendre à l'hôtel Design hôtel, en face, et qui appartenait aux mêmes propriétaires. Cet hôtel bien qu'environ au double du prix que le Stadthotel, et d'un standing supérieur, nous a hébergé au prix payé lors de la réservation. Donc très bonne surprise...

Sehr freundlicher Empfang und nettes Personal. Das Zimmer war gut, sauber, aber kalt. Heizungen sollten entlüftet werden. Das Frühstück absolut lecker und reichhaltig. Leider war das Gym geschlossen (was aber auf der Buchungsseite nicht erwähnt war). Einzige schlimme Sache: Zustand der Klobürste. Diese stammt wohl noch aus den Zeiten als die PLZ vierstellig waren. Bitte gegen neue austauschen!

Das Hotel war okey, jedoch würde ich es nicht mehr buchen. Unser Zimmer war renoviert und sauber. Die Parkplätze im Freien für 14.00 Euro finde ich zu teuer. Das ganze Haus ist Renovationsbedürftig.

Sehr netter Familienbetrieb. Schöne saubere Zimmer! Das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet! Die Fahrräder konnten wir im nahegelegenen Parkhaus gratis parken!
