The staff was very friendly and helpful. Out of the several elevators in the hotel, only one was functioning. Long wait times for every elevator ride due to this. I found this to be inconvenient and bothersome. There was also loud road noise in my room throughout the night. I won't be staying at this hotel again.
This building has mutiple hotels within, so that was a bit confusing. Also there were several broken elevators and if you needed access you had to walk to the other side of the building to take an elevator up to you room.
Heating wasn’t working in our room, and it took two attempts for maintenance to repair. Sink was blocked, and shower water was only tepid. This hotel seems tired and run-down.
Downtown Central
Great hotel for downtown, close to the bars and shows. Large comfy rooms. Would stay again
Good
Great hotel
Great hotel, great staff,
Good stay. Clean and comfy room. Only negative at all is that only one of their three elevators were working, so the wait time was high and it was always very full. Otherwise a great experience.
Good stay
Staff at checkin was sweet and kind and funny, the room was clean, i have no priblems or issues
Worst property with Marriott brand. Don’t ever want to stay here
Excellent stay
It was excellent stay in very convenient location. We were allowed to check in early in the morning. So we could explore Houston attractions including the downtown aquarium.
Friendly staff
Family friendly. Need Elevators fixed though
Great and family friendly. Will stay again
Misleading Ad
Advertised Parking, but in reality there was no parking. If they had disclosed it properly we would have chosen something else
Street noise over into the night was a bit annoying and the broken Elevator wasn't any better.
Great room! Very friendly staff. Clean and well-maintained property.
I didn’t like that there was no parking whatsoever to that specific hotel not only that when you did find parking, they charge you every day instead of having a tab
Toilet was broken; front desk said someone was coming and never came; was provided a plunger. Still wasn’t working properly. They gave me a key to use the bathroom room next door; however, there were people staying in the room… not sure when the people arrived- this could have been a dangerous situation. Apparently, room service cleans the room every 3 days- only came on the first day. Which wasn’t the third day. Elevators were broken the entire stay; only one elevator worked in the entire hotel, despite numerous events happening this particular weekend. The continental breakfast was limited.
Everything was excellent from check in to check out
Overall feeling of not being clean
It was a great stay, outside of the elevator being out of service, but with the other property’s elevator being available, it was a minor inconvenience.
It was a nice property, sad to see the homeless near by everyday. There was only one elevator working which could get annoying but the staff was super kind. I liked the hotel and the breakfast was good! Worth the money, I give it a 8.5/10.
I like everything the valet service. Everyone of those guys were excellent all the ladies at the front desk were excellent. The only problem I seen was you had three elevators and only one of them work so it caused a problem many times during our three day stay. Besides that I love staying in Houston your facility was awesome to us
Love everything about my stay except that the elevator was broken and parking went up.
Very disappointed in the cleaning staff at the hotel. Our room was not cleaned after our first night. The towels where not replenished, the dirty ones left on the floor where not picked up, the garbage was not emptied and dirty glasses where not removed or replaced, coffee was also not replaced. When mentioned at the front desk it was looked after that day to some extent. The towels where removed and replaced, garbage was emptied but the glasses were not removed or replaced and the coffee was not replenished. Also needed to ask to have toilet paper replaced after three days as it was never done. The other issue for the hotel was there where three elevators but only one worked during our four day stay. The food in the dining room was exceptional as well as the service.
Brennan at the check in desk was incredibly pleasant and able to refer us to an amazing restaurant within walking distance. His attention to the specifics of our requests was well above expectations. Sofia in the bar catered to our unique beverage requests without hesitation. The personal attention by this property’s staff has ensured we return to this establishment for our future trips to Houston.
So close to RedLine light rail, very convenient to go to museum district. Breakfast is good.
Loved this hotel! Only “bad” thing was there was only one working elevator so it took a bit longer but it really was no biggie! Nice to explore around! There is valet lol if I had known that would’ve cleaned my car better lollll!!
The hotel was great but only thing was that there were homeless people sleeping on the sidewalk on back of the hotel.
Wonderfully clean, staff was kind and attentive!
Na
Staff friendly
Elevator took forever lol.. but able to use other hotel’s elevator in the same building
We enjoyed our stay.
Old hotel.
Staff accommodated me when my travel Plans changed and checked me in early. Always friendly and great service. Breakfast provided was well kept and delicious. Something for everyone plus a pool.
Great train access and great breakfast
Excellent location if you want to stay in downtown Houston, and the service from the staff is great. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious, and it is good value for money too. The lack of 'soft-product' amenities like a proper lobby bar/restaurant and mini-bar let this place down slightly, and the swimming pool is nothing to write home about. But could not fault it for cleanliness, service, or location, so was overall very happy with my stay. 4/5.
Stayed one night with my daughter. We were in town for a concert. Easy walk to the Toyota Center. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was nice, clean, and spacious enough. To be honest we did not use the pool or did we eat on the property but all of that was available. Because of the location you pretty much have to valet your car, but in downtown Houston that is pretty much the case at most hotels. So just plan on paying the fee and its so much easier.
Great stay
It was a very nice hotel, clean, spacious rooms and most of all very good location. Lots of dinning options and entertainment walkable distance
Fun night out with friends
I'll stay again. The suite was spacious. The breakfast was good. Staff was really friendly!
OK, it was an OK hotel. Two things really made the stay less than stellar. The valet parking was very expensive. The staff of the valet parking were excellent and they were friendly and helpful but at over 60 a day, it was too much money for downtown Houston. The only other complaint was that the room was very bright while trying to sleep. I woke up often thinking it was daytime because the outdoor uplighting punctures the spaces around the blackout and essentially lights up the entire room. I would suggest that they turn those lights off after midnight or something or invest is some additional blackout materials. I woke up a lot because of this.
Although it’s not advertised as a no-frills hotel they only clean every other day. No safe in room. No robes and towels are very budget. Very close to train which is convenient…but train rings bell at intersection so it wakes you up all night. MUCH better hotels in Houston for the price.
All was amazing, everybody was so friendly!
An hour before checkout the elevators were down. Staff did not were to send us to use the an elevator or stairs. This was very much of inconvenience due to my room in the 6th floor.
Perfect location
Lovely hotel - the staff were so friendly. Perfect location and everything within walking distance. Our room was very clean and the bed was super comfortable! We went the the Astros game and the stadium was a 10 min walk.
Everything was great
We really enjoyed the pool area! Nice, quiet and low key. Could also be good for familes with children, though I don't think the pool depth is more than 5 feet, so younger children may need a vest or waterwings.
The hotel provided a wonderful blend of comfort, cleanliness, and hospitality. Its prime location in downtown made it easy to explore the city.
Clean and quiet in the middle of Down town.
Very nice
We were in Houston to see a game at Minute Maid park. We like to walk so it was a great location. Very quiet, separate “room “ with a couch , TV and desk. Lots of room
Went for a weekend at Astros games and enjoyed the spacious room
Close to Minute Maid
Everyone had excellent customer service! Each time I was greeted with smiles and even had some good laughs with the front desk! I can truly say that we enjoyed our stay here!!
My family (including my 2 kids) were forced to stay one night without a working toilet. We told front desk about the broken toilet, and his response was there's nothing he can do about it and offered no other solutions. The toilet was not fixed till next morning when we were told they don't have maintenance staff in the evenings. The terrible attitude is despicable and the handling of the situation is unacceptable. As for the room itself, the couch had lots of stains and carpet looked dirty.
Stains on linens. Otherwise great
Everything was good, clean and nice!
NA
👍
The location was great but the accomodations were terrible. No shuttle to the surrounding areas. The room was small with a weird design. The shower stall didn't have a shelf to store your personal items and the bathroom sink area didn't have any counter space.
The facility was clean.
Extra charges
I was charged for valet parking for two days. 50 dollars per day.
Was VERY disappointed that no one came to clean our room, throw trash, provide clean towels, toilet paper and tissue (I have a cold) on our second day there. I had to call the front desk The person at the desk kept making excuses for the staff. He ended up sending some young ma’am to our room with the items I requested That person just knocked on the door and handed them to me didn’t say two words I had to ask him if he was going to come in and throw our trash as we had pizza boxes from the previous night and other trash He acted as though he didn’t know what I was talking about And left! I had to call the front desk again at which time that man Again was making excuses for him. Long story short, he came back and throughout our trash We’ve stayed at this hotel before and have never received this kind of bad service We were again disappointed in the breakfast as the eggs and everything else there was cold. I cannot understand why they cannot keep the food warm We could have stayed anywhere, but we chose this hotel because of our previous experiences but to have staff not responsibility and make excuses is unacceptable We will not be staying here again
Dirty shower
The shower was dirty broken appliances in the room just not the best stay.
Clean, easy check in and out. Uber friendly.
The hotel room was nice and clean, due to being downtown if you’re driving just be aware of the $50/day valet there is no public parking and there isn’t any real parking to get checked in. Overall the stay was nice, close to the Toyota Center.
Good experience!
Everything was nice and much more spacious than expected! Brenan was super help when asked about food options close by! Valet staff was super with helping us find parking I wish I got his name!! Hotties love Springhill Suites!
Good
The reason I did not give 5 stars is because there was no complimentary bottles of water and there was no lotion in the bathroom. When we inquired as we were exiting it was relayed that you have to ask the front desk. For nearly $400 for one night it should have been mandatory.
Wrote a review on google too
It was close to the arena for the concert
Super slay !
The room was nice bathroom was small.Breakfast was good ,staff was very helpful.Very dissappointed in downtown Houston hard to get around and had a smell to it
Some Restaurants closed on weekends, plan ahead. Very clean and nice staff!
It was nice
Bed bugs in our room. It was terrible with kids around. Very bad expericence.
Brennan at the front desk was very pleasant and helpful on every occasion. It was such a pleasure dealing with him.
Friendly
Clean
We were in town for a family members graduation. We’ve stayed here before and enjoyed our stay.
Great service
It was only 1 night stay but everything was excellent me and may family enjoyed, were satisfied.
Just had a girls night with my sister and our friend. We swam and drank and ordered pizza. The pool was very nice. I had a great time.
Great location
Needs updated Beds
The Bed was awful. It was hard as a rock and very uncomfortable. The under sheet was dirty with spots. Just not worth the money. Customer service was great but the Hotel has to be updated.
Location is fine, but not much facilities, room is big
It is very confusing to have three hotels in one without much direction. Valet dropping car off was very delayed. $50 for valet is ridiculous when we don’t have he option to park our own car. Only one person working check in counter. She was very patient but clearly overwhelmed.
Front desk was great, nice and professional and efficient. Very impressed
Walking distance to the George R Brown!
Safe, clean, and wonderful!
From the moment we arrived at valet to the check in and questions about things around the area, the staff was so nice and welcoming. Brennan, Winston, and Courtney in the valet were amazing at being so helpful. My room was So clean and everything went so smoothly. The breakfast was nice in the mornings. I felt super safe with the use of cards to use elevators and the area in general felt safe. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Comfy and welcoming; why disposables at breakfast?
Friendly staff, excellent room, comfy bed. Outside pool really nice if a bit chilly this time of year. Breakfast average - also served on very flimsy plastic disposable plates and bowls with disposable plastic cutlery. NOT SUSTAINABLE!!
Nice hotel. Nothing spectacular but very nice room, staff, and breakfast. Most of the downtown area is within walking distance.
Great hotel and location
Overall very happy with this hotel, with the location and the staff. I like this room type that gives you a seating area kind of separate from sleeping area. My only dislike is the beds in room 810. They were a bit hard. Otherwise I would have given this place 5 stars across the board. We were in town for a rockets game. Walked to and from the game. Very safe and always a police presence. Would stay again.
Excellent
Convenient
Staff was so nice. Rooms were a little order but bathroom was updated. Breakfast was good. Good location for us.
it was a great stay lots of selection of resturants and shopping, the parking is crazy expensive so we parked at a close lot for 21 bucks a night.. instead of the 50 a night at the hotel
