Restaurant letting good hotel down
Hotel room was new and modern. Checkin staff were very efficient. Wifi worked well. Restaurant seemed underprepared for everything, however. I got dinner after a long wait but the restaurant had run out of gas for other patrons. At an early breakfast, they were already out of eggs and coffee and I waited again. This seems like a lovely hotel in a country setting with good facilities and views - it just needs better restaurant service. And if you do not eat red meat, get dinner in town instead - I did not have much choice.
Would’ve expect more
accommodation was fair, did not have hot water on the first night, food is average…. It seems that the town had some water issues
It is quite expensive BUT not even water in rooms? For that amount at least 2 bottles water
Not best hotel. Will not stay again
On arrival, there was issue with room. We booked king beds and was placed in room with single beds. Eventually changed, but then no toiletries. Next day, after whole day out, no towels and soaps in our room. Staff also unfriendly and rude.
Not a good experience at all
At checkin wrong rooms were allocated, when enquiring they informed us that Hotels.com did not tell them the room type. We were placed in double rooms later without any help of moving our luggage. The lady at reception promised us a menu for the restaurant delivered to the room but it never arrived. The new room was with a double bed but lack a chair at the vanity. No chair at all. They also only provided us with two shower gel sachets for the two nights stay. The next day when we arrived back at the hotel ( around 5) we noticed that our room did not have any towels. We washed our hands but have nothing to try them with. I saw the service lady on our floor and enquire about the towels. She rudely informed me that is was still wet and that I must wait. We later also ask for our chair in the room and had to carry it to our room. The towels only arrive around eight without any floor mat. The toiletries were also not refilled at all. We also reported the towel issue at the reception but also just empty promises that we will get it. After a long day arriving back at your room without any towels and bad attitudes were spoiling our vacation. The hotel decorations is sparse and allows for hollow echoing sounds. I must amid that this was such a bad experience for us.
great weekend stop over.
Great stop over on weekends as you generally will find a better rate than in the week. Not far from Namaqua National Park.
Warm day, nice breakfast
Our stay was ok. It was a hot day and the room did not cool off until early in the morning. The beds were fine and the room was clean. We did sit outside and enjoy a glass of wine with our friends in the evening. The breakfast was quite nice.
Springbok gem.
Comfortable and clean
Overnighter
You need to take care of your bar stock. No gin and the first two choices of red wine were out of stock. Everything else was great.
Excellent Value
This hotel is excellent value for the money, nice pool area with a baytiful view. Clean modern design.
Wonderful Accommodation in Springbok
Very nice accommodation in Springbok
Tranquil and quiet and very well-kept. Always a god stay. They staff are cery curteous and friendly.
great views - panoramic view from restaurant new facility, restuarant staff very friendly; dimmer rustic especially the 'roosterkoek" which was great; hot milk, coffee and hot water clearly marked - no need to guess; laidback atmosphere - resident Jack Russell wanders through the restuarant as part owner! Bed very comfortable- bedding adequate especially tor a cold evening Could have done better - Shower panel too narrow - floor in bathroom had puddle even after i adjusted the shower head; No extractor fan, so had to shower with door bathroom door open; Hand bowl in room instead of bathroom - hand to carry soap and towel from bathroom and back again; Double room - one glass; limited to creamer - no pasturised milk in room; Safe too low; it should be accessible from standing position not having to crouch;
Very basic amenities (like no hand soap). Room only cleaned at 3.30pm and cleaner removed two wet towels and didn’t replace them. Open shower design and lack of bath mat meant everything in bathroom soaked. Nice building - good potential - needed greater interest from management ?
THE BEST ACCOMMODATION IN SPRINGBOK
ONE OF THE BEST, well done and keep it up .but a comment on the evening meal ,,,, tooo expensive and very ordinary
Noisy rooms
Rooms are very noisy with ac units outside front doors. Carpets required to dampen noise.
the stay was good
New hotel in amazing landscape
Beautiful new hotel, rooms very clean and well equipped, service needs a bit more routine but is very friendly, restaurant looks basic but the food is really tasty. The hotel could be even better if the reception staff could advise on activities in the area and if there was a little cosmetics kit in the bathroom (shampoo, shower gel, lotion - not just soap). Overall a pleasant experience and amazing views to the mountains. I hope to come back one day.
New Hotel but may need time
Only a year old but has some structural problems and needs to invest in better staff training to eliminate annoying problems that should not arise. Booked two rooms through expedia, was told on arrival the booking was only for one room. Receptionist then raised subject of payment with me. Surprised when I told her that was a matter for her to sort out with expedia, not my problem. Rooms are upstairs and there is no lift, just a ramp
