Great location, good value and friendly staff.

We had a great time. Rose and rest of the staff were very helpful and friendly. We even had a free upgrade facing the church, we even got to check in 3 hours early as our flight landed in the morning. Hotel is in a great location for exploring the surrounding area. Plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants. You can book your excursions at the reception and you get a discount in doing so. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and we appreciated the great service the hotel team provided.

The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The location is perfect, the room was perfect and the hotel was very clean and kept. Would highly recommend.

This time, my senior and I went on a 5-night, 6-day trip. It was difficult to understand at first as the hotels of the same group were lined up next to each other, but once you got used to it, there was no problem. I took the 86 bus from the airport and got off in front of the Melia Hotel, and it was a very convenient location, within walking distance, and there were many delicious restaurants nearby. The hotel staff were also very kind and friendly. They call out to us as we pass by the front desk. The breakfast was also abundant and delicious. I highly recommend this hotel for your trip to Hanoi.

The hotel is in the old quarter so ideal spot for exploring this part of the city. The Staffa and manager were extremely friendly and hospitable. Nothing was too much trouble

Very convenient and walkable distance to different attractions. Since it is in the inner side of the main road, there is quite quiet at night for a good sleep.

The room we stayed in was quite dated. There was only one pillow allocated per person in the room where they should at least have two pillows per person. The room was fairly clean, but we didn’t feel comfortable because of how dated the room was. The staff at reception when we checked in was very good, friendly and willing to help. The restaurant staff was a bit unfriendly, but not a big deal. Food was average. Location was down a side street so it was quiet. Overall, this hotel is ok for someone who is passing through for one night or two on a low to mid range budget, but for the price you are likely to find better choices in the area with more comfortable rooms.

Good location in the old quarter, difficult to find (taxi driver drove in circles). Hotel did not confirm our airport pickup in time. We used the service for the airport return and it was great. Dining room for breakfast had a good selection but arrive early as food is not replenished fast enough to keep up with the demand. Our reservation was for 5 nights, we left for one night for Ha Long bay (but kept the room as it was TET and we were concerned of a sell out). On check-in the room was extremely small, we kept it for the night but upgraded for $10 a night for the remainder of our stay. Well worth it. The 2nd room was huge. The front desk was very helpful with printing out airline tickets and boarding passes.

Very nice service and personnel ! Hotel is nicely situated in the old part of the city with great access for all the action, markets, restaurants, etc. though in the center of the city, the hotel is very quiet and cozy.

Location was great! But we didn’t even get the hotel that we booked. They gave us Splendid Pearl light. This building did not have a lift.. Shower head was all covered in lime scale and the toilet badly needs plumbing work and renovations. The power outlets were either located at awkward locations without table top and the only one at the bedside had a gaping hole. This cannot be too safe. Doorway was doubled up as a storage space for towels so access to our room was narrow. 🚨🚨🚨 fire hazard... However despite the dismal conditions, I must say the room was clean.

The hotel was near the cathedral, which was nice and central. The staff was plesabt and the breakfast was pretty good. This hotel was a great value.

Nice stay!

The service was great, helpful and friendly. The room is fine - dark and cozy. The TV did not work , but didn't fix. There is not divide between shower and toilet -- after having shower, the floor is wet all over the bathroom. The location is great. Good value for the money.

Want to go back to Hanoi and the Splendid Hotel

Splendid is a fabulous hotel in a fabulous location. For the first night I had picked the cheapest room and I hated it -- small, cramped, smelly. Bathroom with a shower that shared floor space with sink and toilet. So then I switched to a family room for 15 a night more and I loved it. Spacious, balcony, great bathroom, comfortable bed. The daily breakfast was great. The entire staff, all 14, were the loveliest, sweetest, most helpful young people. They made my stay doubly good.

Great location. Close to lots of shops, restaurants, parks and places to walk. What we didnt like is that there was no elevator!! It was also tucked down a little side ally, so you had to walk to a main road to get a taxi. Wasn't a bad hotel, but there looked like there were other, nicer, hotels near by that we would have rather stayed at.

We reached there and got moved to another hotel as they claimed that their water supply would be cut the next day and have no idea when it would be back. The hotel we were put to was worse.

Friendly Staff made great recommendations for dining so that we could try lots of different Vietnamese foods.

The property is in a great location for touring especially when you don’t have a lot of time in Hanoi. The Made to order breakfast was an unexpected bonus.

Had a great stay at this hotel which is conveniently located in Hanoi old quarter. Room were clean and comfortable but what really set this hotel apart from the rest is the staff who was always helpful and attended to all of our needs (generally you get this type of service from higher categories hotels). Cannot recommend more!

Great value for money

The stay didn't start so well as we was offered a room with bad smell and what we think is mold on the roof. Smelled like that atleast. We were reallocated to a quite noisy room next to the reception upon our request. The next day the, upon their day managers initiative, moved us to a much better room. The second night was therefore much better. Over all the staff was really trying to do their best to help. Service was really top. Breakfast was good. The area is interesting with many small restaurants, tourist companies and hotells. Hotel is recommended.

Well located, good staff, disappointing facilities

The facilities are disappointing. The room seemed old and was very tight. It was supposed to be a king bed but instead it was two twin beds pushed together. The whole bedroom and bathroom seemed old and were not well taken care of. Breakfast was ok, though nothing special. On the bright side, the staff was nice and helpful and it is walking distance to good restaurants and places of interest.

Fantastic hotel in ideal Old Quarter location

Our stay at Splendid Holiday Hotel was brilliant from the moment we arrived. Although initially booked as a superior twin room, we were upgraded to a family room with larger beds and an excellent view over St Joseph's cathedral. The hotel had lovely, clean facilities, rooms were well presented and the shower had excellent pressure. A short walking distance to many local food and tourist areas as well as from the bus stop arriving from Hanoi airport: our only regret was not staying longer!

The staff were very friendly. The room was alright. The bathroom was doable but would not come back because of the bathroom situation. The shower was not separated. Also, the tiles were falling apart and was not the cleanest.

Over rated

This hotel is way over-rated, compared to the 2 other hotels that I stayed around the old quarter in Hanoi.

The best location when to go to the Hoan Kiem Lake and St. Joseph’s Cathedral. You can go anywhere in Hanoi with reasonable fare by Grab. The staffs were exceptionally kind.

The first room we checked into had roaches in the bed and a dead one on the floor. The ac blew dust mites onto the bed below it. We requested another room which they gave us and the lady at the counter was very helpful and apologetic. She made the situation right.

Good: small breakfast buffet with ala carte breakfast options included (at no additional cost). Friendly staff who greeted us, helped explain the location and provided us with a map for places to go to. transport arranged by hotel was clean and timely. They waited even though our flight was delayed last minute without any notice. clean room with clean sheets. Many cheap local food places just beside the hotel. Not so good: toilet had a slightly unpleasant smell but this was easily and quickly solved by switching on the ventilation. it was slightly intimidating to be welcomed by all-male staff. However they were kind and female staff were around during the day. I booked a family room with 2 deluxe beds but it seems that furniture was moved around to accommodate the additional bed. But overall it wasn’t that there was space and the room was comfortable. Ocassional ringing of the church bell (located right beside) did not bother us much.

Rundown Hotel with superb location and nice staff

Hotel has great location, just a 1 minute walk through the Alley to reach the cathedral. The breakfast is decent. But the walls of the room are really thin, we barely slept at all for 3 nights. We were given the room on the very first floor at the lobby and could hear people at the check in area all night and by wee hours the noise from the kitchen woke us up. The staff was kind enough to give us another room at the highest floor for our 2nd & 3rd night but it barely helped much with the lift making noise and construction of the adjacent building roof. So unfortunately i will not return to this hotel again. However if you value location and service and you can sleep quite well with noise, this is the hotel for you!

Could be a fantastic hotel!

Pros: amazing and friendly staff, great location close to lots of sites, rooms very clean (bedding, floors, bathroom), bed and pillows very comfy Neutral: breakfast was ok. Buffet with the possibility to also order from the menu. Shower is with the toilet. Cons: mold. First room had water damage on the ceiling with mold. We were quickly and without question transferred to a new room, which had no visible damage or mold but still smelled like mold. Both rooms were normal rooms. Possible that family rooms are unaffected.

Hotel is boutique and right in the middle of the interesting areas. Ken- was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. He made the feeling of the hotel so positive. Wifi was excellent Location was excellent yet pretty quiet. Tremendous value for money here.

Moldy room! Beware!!!

For whom the bell tolls? For thee, @ 5am, 15mins!

Hotel in a small lane in Old Quarter. Nice room with balcony overlooking lane and with view of St. Joseph Cathedral. The church bell chimes every 15 mins, but we soon got used to it. Except when it started tolling non-stop at 5am for 15 mins!!! Clean, comfy room with 1 queen bed and 1 twin bed (we booked a "Family Suite, 2 Bedrooms" -- turns out it was a 2-bed room!) Bathroom nice and clean, but 1. no hooks or bars for hanging clothes during shower; 2. stand-alone bathtub with no shower curtain, so despite kneeling/squatting & pull-down shower head, bathroom floor was half wet! Breakfast included and served in room in basement. Some food items served buffet style, and some custom-made. The ordered items take a while, as there were more than a dozen customers and only a couple of people working in kitchen. Hotel run by a few young men -- very friendly and enthusiatic.

Nice hotel ,good location in lane way off the main

Pleasant stay, accommodating, friendly staff, best of the 5 hotels we stayed in Vietnam. Most Vietnam family run hotels on narrow blocks,3 to 4 stories high, with 3 rooms per floor,front,centre and back..back may have a windows but poor view! !Best will be a front room...so clarify choices between standard,superior &deluxe rooms. Get hold of a city map showing the city tourist spots...Most may be walkable. .or accessed by a taxi, load the uber or grab apps to get a good perspective of fares.

Make sure you get a room on the 4th floor or highe

Upon arrival, we did not get the room I had reserved. They gave us the worse room in the hotel. In the lobby next to the ejevator. Very small with a window looking at a wall and with such a small bathroom. The shower space was so small, my spouse could not fit plus since there was no seperation or curtain, the whole bathroom got wet when we took a shower. Certainly not what the pictures showed on the site! The reception girl told us we could change rom the next day but in the morning, when we asked to change, we were told it was not possible, only if we paid morw!!! I called Hotel.com and the problem was solved quickly but we still had to pay an extra $5 a day to get the same type of room but on a higher floor where we could at least have daylight! The staff was ectra nice and tried by all means to make our stay enjoyable. During our stay, we saw several people being assigned that horrible room and leaving the next day because they were unpleased. We could not leave because they would charge us for late cancelling so we bit the bullet and stayed. We were to come back to that hotel after our stay in Sapa but we cancelled and stayed at another hotel, (West Lake Home Hotel and Spa) we were so very pleased with this one, no comparison!

The location and excellent staff combine to make this an excellent choice of hotel for the comfort/budget conscious traveler. It was clean, breakfast was great, location is perfect but the shining light is the helpful, friendly staff. Happy to help out with bookings, transfers, tours .

It was a pleasant stay. I really enjoy the atmosphere the hotel staff provided.

Nice place to stay

Stayed here for 3 separate nights. For the first night we were moved to a sister hotel on the other side of the lake, was a little troublesome but the location was fine as we get to explore that part of old town. The second night, we had no electricity for about an hour and my friend had to shower in the dark. All in all the service was good, the room was clean and the breakfast was awesome.

1 Night Stay

we stayed for 1 night in Splendid Holiday Hotel. at first we were given a room on the 9th floor which has weak WiFi coverage so we requested to change. we got a room in the 6th floor, and everything was ok. room was clean, bed was comfortable. breakfast got limited food choices. reception was very helpful. location is convenient. overall, a good stay for 1 night.

Pleasant Stay

This was our second stay at this hotel and they kindly upgraded us to a family room at the front part of the hotel which has more room. Staff was friendly and nice and helpful when we require a slightly later check out.
