this is a magical place. It’s definitely a fantastic lifestyle. I love it so much. I went twice in two weeks from Los Angeles, Alex and Lulu are great! is Aro. they do everything to make you stay wonderful food is incredible. The chef a genius.

The walls are so thin that you can hear everything! That means every single conversation while you are in your garden room and people are dining in the garden. You hear every single argument, bodily noise and conversation of your neighbors. The property is really stylish and cute but no amount of style can make up for not sleeping well.

The sparrow was by far one of the best places I’ve stayed. The staff was incredibly friendly, and I really felt like a community. It was my girlfriend‘s birthday And they did a special champagne bottle and card when we entered our room. My girlfriend loved it, will definitely be staying there again.

I stayed 2 nights and I easily could’ve stayed longer. It WAS hot 110 degrees but….. as they say it’s “dry”heat and I was in the pool the entire time. My room was cozy and clean. The stone shower was great, it felt like I was showering outside. If it hadn’t been so hot, the hammock on my patio would’ve been a perfect place to nap or read. The restaurant there was perfect and I like that, I didn’t have to leave the property. I’m a very picky eater. Fortunately, the menu had lots of choices so, I didn’t have to sound like Meg Ryan in When Harry Met Sally!! “ I’ll have the chef’s salad oil & vinegar on the side, and the apple pie a la mode, but, strawberry ice cream not vanilla & on the side” you know the deal! Breakfast, which is included, offers delicious banana bread along with yogurt, granola and fresh fruit. You’ll find Jen & Desi in the barn (where the restaurant is)! They’re warm and welcoming, fun to talk with and they made sure, I had everything I needed. One last thing…. I admit, I WAS disappointed that they don’t allow pool “toys”, floats, rafts or noodles!! I’d been dreaming about quietly, floating in the pool with my stupid noodle!! It’s their off season so, there was never more than 4 people by the pool. It wasn’t like it was so crowded, I was at risk of accidentally, bopping someone in the head with my noodle! Oh well, I’m hoping that policy will change. But, that was the ONLY thing that disappointed. 10 out of 10 !!

I wanted to move in and never leave.

My most recent stay at Sparrows lodge did not compare to my past stay and it was evident that the new management does not compare to the level of service and hospitality I had experienced in the past. From the moment my girlfriends an I walked up to the checkin desk, we knew something was missing, Colby's welcome. We were not greeted at the table and we were even rudely asked if we were "hotel guests". To that we answered "well yes, we are trying to check in." The first impression did not get much better from there as they did not have our dinner reservation that we had made earlier that week, our massage reservations were also not in "their system", they ran out of the welcome sangria..., they took 20 mins to tell us that they were out of the chicken mole dish we ordered, and when we finally made it to dinner the food took over an hour to come out. A few more disappointments: no misters by the pool, even though it was over 100 degrees, no returning guest gift, even though we know candles and hats were given in the past, and the breakfast was lacking with no eggs or salad that we had in the past. With all these disappointments, we may sadly rethink returning to sparrows lodge until they can return to the level of service and hospitality they had in the past.

Our stay was fantastic! Such a hidden gem. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was unique and roomy. The grounds were perfection. Highly recommend!!

A wonderful, peaceful retreat. Excellent service and food. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. Free breakfast was a nice touch. We can’t wait to come back! One small gripe - I noticed they had mouse poison in front of the property which is so barbaric and awful. How are we still poisoning animals (and the ecosystem!) in 2024???

This property is totally miss managed by the General Manger (Alex) at least that is what he told us he was. To sum up Alex unfortunately he suffers from Small Man syndrome, which means it’s Alex way or no way. Unfortunately his attitude has disempowers the staff who are forced to behave in a mardy way. The guest at these lodgings is definitely the least important person. As they sell the property on the food quality it is unbelievable that they don’t carry enough food to satisfy all their guests for breakfast, what makes this even more ridiculous the offering are so very limited. In respect to the evening food this was very poor and amateurish with little or no level of service. When eventually served the customer was expected to be grateful for the strange child like attempts at high cuisine. In short avoid this place like the plague until Alex moves on to ruin some another establishment.

I have always wanted to stay here -- loved the common areas, beautiful breakfast, amazing team. The rooms are super cute and cozy with a real California vibe!

I loved the layout of the property and the wonderful pool and hot tub! The food and drinks were amazing with a farm to table philosophy! Most of the staff were very kind and accommodating! Our favorite was Caroline, she checked us in and was so helpful. It has a very laid back feeling while also offering many luxuries. This was our first visit and we hope to have the pleasure to return sometime soon!

Simply awesome

Food was outstanding

This is a hidden gem near downtown Palm Springs. We are in the short term vacation rental business and also focus on luxury accommodations. We really appreciated the beautiful grounds and the layout for dining. 10 stars for their morning breakfast! As first timers we felt check in was awkward, as there were no signs to direct you from the parking area and you had to drag your luggage through the pool area to the bar for check in. When we checked in we made our dining reservations and were told they were full until 8:15. While we were waiting around, exhausted from the days travel, a couple requested a table for dinner and stated they did not have a reservation. They were shown a table immediately while we waited another 90 minutes. Then when they were done we were told we could have that table and someone else was then seated there. Bottom line is that we felt hotel guests should be given some priority for dining. We canceled our reservation for the next night and ate downtown. Overall the stay was very pleasant.

We loved our 4 night stay (Mon-Fri) at Sparrows Lodge. We wished we did not need to leave. The room is very cute, and the common rooms are cozy. We especially enjoyed the room with the fireplace. We ate at the restaurant one of the nights and found the food to be delicious. All of the staff were very friendly. We had timely service of our room each time when requested. The pool and hot tub were perfect. We used the bikes provided to bike to the downtown strip of Palm Springs on one of the days, and these worked great. Parking was never an issue (although we were here on less busy days). The only small issue we encountered was our neighbouring room guests were playing music late at night, which seemed to translate through our shared wall very easily (as it could not be heard from outside their room). That being said, the overnight front desk staff dealt with this right away when we let her know, and let us know that there is a process for escalating these concerns (we learned that these guests had already been reprimanded once). We would highly recommend staying at Sparrows Lodge, especially if seeking a cozy and respectful environment.

Great dinner too!

We had a wonderful time at the Sparrows Lodge. Alec was especially helpful and everyone was very kind and professional. Beautiful surroundings, pool, hot tub and trees overflowing with fruit. Could a few more cabinets for clothes. Only complaint would be the parking can be an issue as the restaurant fills up the lot due to the great food. We had to park on the street behind the lodge numerous times as when we came home for the day the lot was full

Turn off the noise

Beautiful boutique hotel hidden in Palm Springs. The hotel doesn’t offer tv or radio in the rooms so as to offer an environment to reconnect and relax. Spa services and bicycles are available as is Michelin rated dining in the barn. S’mores are an evening treat by the fireside

A transdescent experience

The hostess is super friendly and informative. They are willing to provide the best hospitality they can to their guest. The rooms and guest area are aethetically pleasant looking that gives you a true getaway from the city. The room where we stay gives off a cabin in the wood vibes but everything is neat and clean, decor is minimal but appealing, and bed is soft and comforting. Bringing a book to read, a board game to play with your loved ones are ideal. They have free breakfast and campfire with s’more at night. LGBTQIA+ friendly

Very unique property with mid-century charm and friendly staff!

The property is uniques, relaxing, and quiet. The staff is phenomenal. They cater to everything you need with maximum efferent and always smiling. I would definitely stay her when I come to Palm Springs. It is a place for adults to unwind and relax.

Loved the design of the barn and the property grounds. The art was terrific. Attention to cleanliness and keeping the property well maintained was appreciated. The food was fresh and delicious. Bravo to the chef. The staff was warm and friendly showing genuine care and concern. Room 4 - bed too small for 2 people. Next time, room 15. Bikes need gel covers on the seats and handlebars need to be raised so they don’t bump legs when cycling. Tires were not pumped up. Better yet: new bikes. Chris the GM was delightful. Loved the ambience and the fact that they allow dogs so I was able to bring both of my fur babies on our trip. Beautiful fruit trees gardens and swimming area. The only issue are reason for the 4 star review is because of staff member Brianna. She was extremely rude during our entire stay and not just rude to us but other guests as well. We spoke to another couple who were staying in the hotel and they said the same about her attitude and negative demeanor. All other staff were incredible and displayed excellent customer service. I am unsure why this person works here seeing as we paid over 1K to stay for 2 nights and I expected a fabulous experience with the upmost customer service. I am still in shock at how she spoke to us and other guests and hope management will address this issue. Other than this one person, we had a great experience. We enjoyed the firepits, dinner, and our room was perfect.

Beautiful stay but service could be more intuitive

For context this was the last leg of our 4 week honeymoon road trip. We were originally meant to be in Mexico but due to bad weather we decided to come to Sparrows for the guaranteed good weather. Pros - Beautiful property, really stunning looking from the rooms, pool/communal areas to the garden. - Amazing massage with Richard Cons - Level of customer service isn't what I would expect for the cost - Reception isn't clearly marked. When you arrive you go to a small building which has reception vibes but isn't. Then you get to the pool area but the reception/check in area is in the main barn which has the bar and a large table with people eating. Over the course of a week we saw several couples arrive perplexed as to where they check in. Could benefit from some signage. - 1st night there was a huge cockroach in our room. I asked reception for some kind of bug spray for the room and I was simply told 'this is Palm Springs'. They said they would give the room a once over in the morning but no one came. We were by the pool the whole time so would have seen. - Requested an Amaretto Sour, received an Amaro Sour. I was told they're the same thing. They're different spirits - was annoying to be told they're the same. Thankfully we weren't charged for this mistake. - Breakfast should finish at 10am but they start taking it down at 945. Others were annoyed by this too. Not once during our stay were there bowls out, they had to be requested each time.

The staff at Sparrow’s Lodge makes it a top notch experience! Very minimalistic, great to unplug and just relax away from technology. The menu has limited options, but is so delicious. I think we tried almost everything on the menu and savored each taste. Overall a 10 out of 10 experience and I will be returning.

Cool design for the area, especially the back garden. The pool is nice and the little lodge is also aesthetically pleasing. However, there was no trash can in the room, we had three cockroaches, they use blinds instead of curtains so light wakes you up, the tub in our room was a very uncomfortable metal bucket-looking thing. The floors in the bathroom were concrete. Also no phone in the room to call for room service. The staff was very kind.

Great stay at an adorable place

The Lodge is just as described. It's completely adorable and relaxing. And it's got a farm-chic or glamping feel to it. Everything is safe and clean, but it's homestyle, such as our door didn't close tight against the doorframe such that you could see light coming through. But to be clear--no bugs came through at all, just saying there are little quirks like that. The staff was so completely generous and kind. They really made our belated anniversary getaway so special, and we thank them for that. Dinner was yummy. The breakfast is very continental--bagels, bread, cereal, hard boiled eggs, tea coffee. Just what you need to get your day started and lay out by the pool. The pool was clean, lots of lounge chairs. We were there during the week and it wasn't very packed with people, no idea how the weekends are during tourist season, but this was calm and peaceful. Our room had a fenced back patio which was so charming. We could use it early morning and eve, but it was too hot during the day. The shower part of the bathroom is a little drafty since it's open to the room, which might be a problem for people who don't like that. We wanted to try the tub but it was taking so long to fill that we didn't try it. It's gigantic for 2 people, but ultimately felt we were using up water during a drought. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Would completely recommend it. Thank you, Sparrows, for the great stay.

Beautiful hotel the pool needs to be cleaned a little more but everything else was amazing

The staff were fantastic and check in was a breeze. It was great that they kept in touch with me to make sure that I made it there and they also secured a wonderful masseuse for me; which was an amazing experience! I really enjoyed the breakfast spread and the room in which it was held. The only moment I had to think twice was about getting into the pool. Wish it was sparklier. A lot of sunbathers and their lotion and oils made the water a little too cloudy for me. Loved my room with the tub so it made great water time - along with the bath salts and candle from the spa. I would love to stay again and bring my daughter back with me. Mahalo!

Sparrows Lodge is beautiful, serene, clean, calm, a perfect place to unwind and slow down. The property is clean and recently renovated. It nods to its original form but has be done in simply tasteful way. Everything about our stay was wonderful. From the orange trees on the property, the breakfast display and lunch/dinner offerings, massage tent, to the birds chirping and sun shining, we cannot wait to go back!

This is a wonderful place for a weekend getaway. The grounds are beautiful. Traveling 13 hours I was not impressed by the check in staff. The way you have to say your luggage through people by the pool then dragg through where people where dining was irritating. We got there 30 mins before the kitchen closed and the staff really didn't feel jazzed we needed to eat..The entire experience was very unwelcoming.

While I was traveling alone and working while I was here, it was a nice way to getaway and relax while also being able to easily focus on my work (yay for great WiFi and no kids). Service is wonderful, food is delicious and everything is so laid back and chill! Can’t wait to come back again.

Pretty Good!!!

This place is so cute and an awesome cabin vibe, unlike the themes of many similar places nearby. I would stay there again. The pros for me were that it was dog friendly, offered spa services (outside tent made nice, masks on) and has a lot of nice outdoor sitting areas. I stayed over my birthday and they upgraded us (it seemed) to a corner room with its own patio and that was so nice. The cons for me were that the hot tub was closed- why? The pool was open and the hot tub was outdoors and large. This was not advertised. :( Also the food and drink service and quite limited and stop early. We got takeout from a really great Italian restaurant nearby. The most memorable con was that the rooms were VERY DARK- bad lighting- they have a flashlight- no overhead lighting- for the price it seemed like staying in a tent or glamping- which was cool and I did like the overall vibe but, also wanted some feeling of luxury. One really nice touch was the burning of sage in the outdoor areas in the evening- very cool and relaxing with mountain views. I got a massage in the spa area and it was supposed to come with a sage smudge and some things and did not- this was totally omitted for some reason. I would recommend this place but the bottom line is its more rustic and less luxury then I was probably imagining when I booked. More mid century Palm Springs basic type place but that's ok too.

Feels like a private exclusive place. Lots of trees and a carefully thought out layout Creating plenty of spaces to sit in the sun, shade, enjoy pool, garden or fire pit in a socially distanced yet still convivial way. The staff were excellent. Extremely pleasant, well trained to be able to multi task - so “not my job” attitudes! We loved this place so much we extended our stay and can not wait to return.

The check in was a bit disorienting as the person checking in was talking very fast. She had good intentions, but information regarding the $100 deposit, breakfast time, etc. wasn’t clear. We’d just driven from LA straight from work, so it was just a strange way to check in, but with everything going on it made sense, and we will be sure to come earlier than 9pm next time to alleviate this, and have a more relaxing arrival. The hotel room didn’t have a fridge, so our food from Workshop went bad, so I’m not sure if all of the rooms are like this or just ours just FYI. The staff working the next day were very kind and hospitable, and the pool was a sweet oasis for my 30th birthday. I would recommend staying here all things aside.

Amazing stay perfect for what we had in mind for our trip. A relaxing get away from the city. The hotel had everything we needed. Delicious food and drinks, we didn’t need to leave the hotel at all. Rooms were clean and cute. Our room had a private patio area in the back and the front door was steps away from the pool.

Had a fantastic time getting some rest and relaxation by the pool for a couple days. Love the ambiance at the hotel. Feels like a real getaway. They took cleanliness seriously which is very important these days.

I've always been reluctant to rate this property because I don't want anyone else to visit here, but in COVID times, I don't want them to be affected so after my 7th visit, here I go. There is something magical about this place. The rustic, sophisticated decor, the unique attention to detail, the quiet vibe...it restores my soul every summer. I have stayed in 6 different rooms and all have been great. I have been at different times of the year. All have been great. I have eaten all of the food, all of it is great. Go. You won't be sorry.
