Nice little hotel
Always a great stay. I always know what to expect. Great location, helpful staff.
The pictures on Expedia look nothing like the actual rooms, they're in terrible condition, poorly illuminated and ventilated. The beds are hard and there are no extra blankets. The location is good and safe.
The pictures online do not match up to what the property looks like. The rooms are very uncomfortable and I don’t think I’ve ever slept in a bed so hard. The cement floor would have been the same firmness. There’s no a/c, which is fine because the room is cool enough but if you want to open the window, be prepared for dust and bugs because there are no screens. The hot water is iffy. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t, guess it depends on how many other people are taking showers at the same time. Noisy is an understatement. The walls are paper thin so I heard an entire conversation my neighbor was having at almost midnight. He even took his conversation to hallway and I had to go ask him to please be quiet because I was trying to sleep. People talking, horns honking, dogs barking it was loud. There is no phone in the room so if you even wanted to complain, you have to go to the front desk, which is super inconvenient at midnight when you’re already in bed. Very disappointed in my stay here. I wanted a place to be comfortable when I came back from exploring the city, but instead, I couldn’t even rest or relax. I don’t recommend this hotel
They gave us the wrong room type
This was a good place to stay but to rest at night it was noisy with the bar next door.
Nice place and area
La zona está muy bien, el hospedaje es el normal con relación al costo.
Great location
The bed was hard as a rock. Slept 1 hour...
LOUD MUSIC IN BAR DOWN STAIRS UNTIL 3 AM BAD SMELLY BLANKETS.
Cool place in Cuahotemoc
It was a nice, clean, well located hotel in CDMX and the staff was great Very helpful and friendly. My third time there and not my last
Pleasant and economical!
This is my third visit to this hotel. The first since they became part of the dot local hotel group. The hotel got a makeover and new paint and it’s a nice off the beaten path hotel. The staff is always helpful and happy and the location is great for this price. The room is clean and comfortable and the cleaning ladies are seeethearts. Don’t forget to tip them. I’ll be back in September.
Location is great
Excellent location and safe
Great location however cleaning supplies were left in the corners of hallways. The door handle was very loose upon arrival so I had to have someone come and fix it.
Funky Mexican. Safe and a good choice for budget travelers
A pleasant stay at the Local Soy
Staff is helpful and smoky, nice and secure neighborhood, cafes, restaurants, transportation close by.
We loved this little hotel. The warm traditional colours and interior character including art work and stained glass made it very cosy. The location was great in what felt like a little community with beautiful architecture and lots of good places to eat. We got great help whenever we needed it from the staff. Definitely the place I’d stay again in CDMX.
Interesting decorations and art. The room was left unlocked by the chambermaid on at least one occasion.
Great value hotel, location worked great for me. My room was the first one by the stairs and elevator and window above entrance. It was noisy at times, as people wait for tour buses as early as 630am the noise travels up. Besides that I’m sure other rooms are better. I would stay again.
I left my cell phone in an uber and the awesome staff helped me log in to contact the driver on a laptop. Miraculously i actually got my cell phone back. The hotel is nice and quiet in the beautiful Zona Rosa neighborhood. The fans in the rooms are life saving. The restaurant is delicious and all of the staff were amazing and helpful
Charming hotel in a safe and nice area in CDMX
Best stay in Mexico city. This is a very charming hotel. The decoration is so beautiful and makes you feel home. The rooms are huge with big windowns that you can actually open!!! The best was super comfy and all was clean and nice. Loved loved so much staying here
The Hotel is old and kinda noisy... the bathroom door never closed... and there was loud music in the building in front of all the weekend until like 2:00am making it hard to sleep. also the interent was very poor and keep disconnecting every 5 minutes
Hogar, dulce hogar
Ha pasado casi un año desde mi última visita. Aún así, el equipo siempre me recuerda y me hace sentir bienvenido y como en casa -- nos vemos en unos meses!
Slightly quirky hotel in a great location. Superb price/value ration, close to restaurants and subway and quiet rooms !!
All good
Wonderful place!
The staff at this hotel are very kind, helpful and caring. They are the best thing about this place. The hotel is charming and its decor is quirky, yet appealing. The neighborhood the hotel is located in is leafy, quiet and becoming more gentrified. There are a lot of young people, who probably trot the globe working virtually, eating at the cafes, absorbed in their cyber existence. They are quiet customers, making eating out at these establishments very pleasant. The restaurant hotel has good food, and the staff there are very attentive and polite. The only complaint I have is that some guests walk in at all hours as if they are at Mardi Gras, talking loudly and carrying on. The hotel does have signs posted asking people to respect others, but morons are usually semi-literate anyway.
It's a safe place and confortable
Good economic hotel
Good hôtel and close to a good area in cdmx. Economic for the area but hotel is nice, clean and there is a small restaurant in the facilities.
I booked it for a friend. He enjoyed his stay from Zacatecas. The area was great. I joined him for brunch. The food from their Rinconsito restaurant was amazing too.
Its adobe style building is beautiful. But every noise is audible. Doors opening and closing. People talking etc etc. But property is unique. I would stay agan.
Lugar seguro para caminar con tranquilidad Lo unico que observo en un cuarto para cuatro personas ponen muy poco papel higenico. El staff super amable
Perfect location and still a wonderful staff, I have been returning there for years. The room is comfortable and the area is mostly silent, so I get to rest well after a long day of enjoying the city. However, this time around I was not a fan of the condition of the bathroom. The showerhead was old and clogged, so the water stream was a bit of a mess and made showers longer. Also, they have been using shower curtains shorter than the ideal length for years, which makes all the floor get wet. I would have hoped they would have noticed this by now and corrected it. It's not the end of the world, but as bit messy and annoying.
Noisy, hard mattress, crazy restaurant
Noisy at night and early morning. Staff were very professional and nice. Bed is hard. No heater, cold at night. Ordered breakfast from the menu wanting exactly as described - crepes with all fruits and Nutella but was totally given one with cheese, ham and spinach. Later corrected it but it wasn't with fruits but rather just jams. Will not return
Quirky looking hotel in Juarez with good wifi
I stayed at the hotel for a week and would recommend it to digital nomads - great wifi in the room and plenty of cool cafes and bars nearby. I really like the small cafe opposite the hotel with a green roof - amazing coffee, pastries etc! The room itself was big and the bathroom as well. I asked for a balcony and got a room on the top floor with a massive terrace which was awesome esp when working remotely to have an outdoor option in the room! The decor was what initially attracted me to the hotel and it didn’t disappoint:-)
Mejorar calidad de toallas y artículos para baño
Personal amable y habitaciones cómodas, la ubicación está muy bien
Large rooms, nice facilities overall, shower needs to be scrubbed down.
Nice place and area close to metro
Great basic hotel, close to Roma Norte and very affordable.
I enjoyed the authentic local style of the hotel.
Hotel has old school Mexican decor. In case you are a foreign tourist who wants a more authentic Mexican experience, this would be a good option. The desk staff speak some English. They helped us find Covid-19 antigen test cheaply at nearby Farmacia de Alorro, to be able to meet US government and airline requirements to re-enter USA. Restaurants on either side of hotel and coffee shop and bakery across the street.
Great location, massive room
Great location both for the metro and cafés/ restaurants and a large room and bathroom. Friendly staff and a good on site cafe for breakfast. My room was north facing and chilly but I got extra blankets no problem. Similarly in changing a very hard pillow. Strong WiFi. West facing room would be better for sun.
Everything was great: the hotel is absolutely beautiful. So colonial; spacious and clean
Unique & ornate! Comfy, yet cold in Nov (no heat)
This was a unique hotel for sure! The paintings, murals, and shrine like sconces built into the walls were so ornate and uniquely southwestern/Mexican! My room had a decorative courtyard view, with a window that opened to the courtyard area, which was merely decorative, not accessible so plenty of privacy. The parking was underground beneath the hotel itself! The only two negatives I can see were- no heater in the room so it got very cold, I had to call for extra blankets twice! And my room had a large wall of windows facing the street and the drivers there think a car horn is the solution to everything lol.. my friend booked an interior room and said his room was nice and quiet, his room also felt a tad warmer, so these are all things you may consider when booking! Regardless, I do highly recommend this property, it has easy walking access to Zona Rosa and there are restaurants and taco carts galore just outside your door! Can’t wait to come back!
Very authentic Mexican design, beautiful artistry throughout the hotel. Very friendly staff, housekeeping was great. It's nice that there's a restaurant on site that will deliver to your room and having a money exchange at the hotel was very convenient as well. The location was nice, because it's in a fairly quiet neighborhood away from the hustle and bustle of the city yet there is still plenty to do and see within walking distance. I will definitely stay here again if/when I return to lovely CDMX.
Cozy little place. Close to eveything in the Pink zone. Great service.
Hogar dulce hogar
Estas dos últimas semanas en Posada Viena me sentí como en casa. Todos, desde la recepción, y restaurante El Rinconcito hasta la limpieza, todos son muy amables y serviciales. Espero con ansias mi próxima visita!
The hotel is great for its age and time. Although not a modern hotei it holds its charm. The buildimg takes you to a different time in Mexico but its clean, has great staff that is very helpful, and above all, it's at the center of everything. You're five minutes from the best neighborhoods like colonia Roma, La Condesa, Zona Rosa, el Zocalo, and Angel de Independencia. Overall, the hotel is charming and clean with great staff and next to a great Argentinian restaurant!
Después del primer día, realmente me siento como e
Este es un hermoso lugar para trabajar de forma remota. El personal desde la recepción hasta la limpieza del restaurante ha sido súper servicial y amable, ¡gracias!
Amazing hotel in quiet zone
Mexican charm hotel, very nice. Hotels.com offer unbeatable, very happy
Very Mexican in a good location. Close to everything. Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean.
The service was very good. I forgot my glaucoma medicine, Gustavo went and bought it for me, very helpful all the time. The hotel has the best service Gustavo!!!
Four stars
My experience in this hotel was amazing!!! It is located in a very quiet and good area of Mexico City. The service of the hotel staff especially Gustavo is wonderful. I forgot my glaucoma medicine and he bought it for me. Gustavo is a very helpful guy !!! Thank you Gustavo
An excellent place to stay. Good location. The staff are very helpful.
Third time I have stayed here. Quiet, safe, clean neighbourhood but central location to reach the key places.
Another Great Stay!
I stayed at Posada Viena Hotel six months ago and enjoyed it so much I actually extended my stay. For this current trip with my girlfriend, it was my first choice. It’s located in a walkable area, with easy access to many surrounding areas and sites. I like the traditional decor but modern extras, like good wifi and hot showers. I don’t think there is a/c but I’ve slept well with the window opened some or the room fan. The upper floors have a private terrace which is nice. This is not some US chain look-alike, so don’t expect some crap in-room coffeemaker, 15 towels, or a TV with 1000 channels. Likewise, the beds are traditional, rather firm but supportive even for my bad back. There are two restaurants onsite, one traditional Mexican and the other a steakhouse and both are quite good. I’m a food snob who enjoys the great area restaurants, but enjoyed both. The best part of a stay here is the friendly and very helpful staff. They are taking all precautions with COVID, while being polite and courteous. I will stay again.
Always happy with the service at Posada Viena, this was my third time staying there and will continue to be my go-to place whenever I visit Mexico City.
This hotel is clean, safe, in a quiet location, and the staff are very friendly. The cafeteria restaurant is very nice as well. Everything about the place is a great value and while it's not on the most exciting street, it's an easy walk or short cab ride to many things. I would gladly stay here again.
Great location
Great location. Unfortunately a bit of noise from the corridor. Ask for a street facing room.
Third time and it is always a pleasure to stay at Posada Viena.
Cleanliness, quiet, friendly, the stuff really helpful.
The property is conveniently located close to Zona Rosa which is walking distance to el Angel de Independencia and la Catedral. The amenities were adequate for our stay clean and safe. Also, there was always someone to assist in the lobby area.
Friendly staff, property has lots of character, felt safe and was very walkable in Mexico City. No A/C or heat so we didn’t want to leave the blanket.
Not very clean and the bed had two different mattresses
Suprisingly good
Didn't have high expectations as it was very inexpensive but it was better than o.k. The hotel was clean, beds were better than bad and the staff were helpful. The area isn't gorgeous but is near areas that are, so just walk over to Roma Norte. Do not eat at the hotel's breakfast restaurant unless your standards are very low!
The Posada Viena is an older, more traditional hotel near the Zona Rosa with the most wonderful staff ever. The hotel in general looks as if it has had a recent paint refreshing inside and staff keep it very clean. The restaurant attached to the lobby is a pleasant place to have local food well prepared for breakfast, lunch or early dinner. Some of the room furnishings are getting a bit worn and bathroom towels a bit thin but the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. No safe in the room but reception provides a safe deposit box for valuables on request. The location is good for restaurants, being close to the Zona Rosa but a taxi is necessary to get to the Zocalo. Staff are the real bonus in this hotel!
Safe and close to everthing. Location is perfect. Will back soon.
It was our first time visiting the city and it was one of the best experiences yet. The hotel is located in a great area, very centralized to all sorts of mercados, shopping centers and local eateries. I will highly recommend the hotel, not only for their hospitality but because of their comfort, cleanliness, and quietness. I give this BEAUTIFUL hotel two thumbs up.
Good location, friendly staff, Internet access, and inviting enough for stay during next stay.
Hideous decoration but fantastic value. We had a two bed suite and it was enormous, included a couch, armchair, table, desk, twin sinks and a separate bathroom. Beds and pillows are a little hard and there’s no AC but there was a ceiling fan. Excellent location, close to shops, food, coffee, and walking distance to a lot of sightseeing. Would recommend if you’re on a budget and don’t mind carpeted walls and clashing colors.
Great place to stay
This hotel is a wonderful place to stay, specially given it's price and location. The hotel staff is friendly and helped us even keeping our bags after checkout. Our room was always clean and it was comfortable enough. The area around the hotel is usually quiet, and it was good enough of a walking distance for me to reach the retail/touristy zones (around 30 min walk). We stayed for a whole week and felt quite comfortable with everything, will surely stay here again in our next visit.
The hotel is located on a quiet street and in a convenient location in Mexico City.
Nice staff- dirty and dated rooms.
Hairs on my sheets and in the bathroom sink. I saw them within 2 min of being in the room, therefore the staff also should have seen them prior to my arrival. The room was dim and an overly firm mattress. The saving grace was the abundantly nice staff
My room only had one available power outlet and it was behind the bed. As soon as I pulled the bed back I saw about an inch of dust and it was an instant regret. I started to question the overall cleanliness of the carpet...not fun
Nice, cosy, and clean hotel. Ideal for tourism, close to main avenues and museums, with lots of public transportation options
Nice location
In a quiet location, restaurant around, staff are nice, unfortunately, there is no slipper, no tissue paper inside the room.. Others still not bad!
Great location but horrible beds
The hotel is located in a great area. However the beds/mattress, pillows, are horrible. it was like sleeping on the floor. After a day of touring it would have been nice to relax and sleep but were unable to due to the extremely uncomfortable beds. there was a big wad of hair in one of the sinks.( we had double vanity). you have to be careful in the shower since you don't get a mat or towel to place on floor
excellent location
If you need a place to sleep and keep your luggage this is it. Excellent location. The cafeteria has the best food and service. Staff is really nice and attentive. My only complaint is there are no mats either in the shower/bathroom area or bedroom. Towels were extremely old and thin. No hands or face towels and only one towel per person. The room is clean overall but the dust is not swept under the beds. Toiletries are very limited. Bring your own.
Good location. Helpful staff. My room was nice and clean. I would recommend this hotel.
Excelente value
This place it's excellent for its location and value , no AC but the weather was perfect and no need for AC, rooms are very clean and spacious and the most important was the price and the good attention.
Good place good value friendly staff
Hotel location is great Very helpful staff Near metro station Walking distance to main attractions
Well located in a quiet area.
Very comfortable hotel in a quiet area. One square away from a big stree and a metro station manages to be very well located but not noisy. Several small places in the area to have some meals or a coffee. The installations are not new but they are well kept. There were just a couple of electric outlets in the room, a not very comfortable table and chair. Not ideal for work travel. I was there for leisure so it was more than ok.
Internet doesn't work Food was amazing!
Great food at the cafeteria. The internet doesn't work. Nice people.
Nice Hotel close to attractions.
Great Hotel, clean and very friendly, helpful staff. Ate at the cafe several times and found the food to be very good. Hotel is about a 2.5 to 3 mile walk to either the Historic Center or Chapultepec Park. Neighborhood is safe, I went for a walk at 5:30 A.M. and 9:00 P.M. and never felt threatened. Would recommend using hotel taxi to get to airport, I thought it was very reasonably priced. However, the beds are a hard.
Nice hotel in nice neighborhood.
Nice, clean hotel,in colonia Juarez, within walking distance to Reforma,Turibus stops, colonia Roma, currency exchange.Hotel can arrange airport taxi for reasonable price, and also guided tours :Cholula,Puebla,Taxco,Teotihuacan...Good Mexican or continental breakfast,Good Argentinian restaurant, but quite pricey.I walked around at evenings, and it was safe.Definitely will come back!
The hotel and services were great except for the beds.....uncomfortable (too too too firm).
Close to a nice area
Hotel was very skimpy on towels and they were very old and rough. Rooms appear old, need remodeling. Breakfast was great
old fashioned hotel, mexican style
the hotel got an argentinian restaurante in the premises, very popular, good quality but a litle expensive, and a place to dance and learn tango, breakfast no included, but they have a bar and a place for breakfast
A hotel with a Mexican flavor
The longer we stayed, the more I liked the hotel. The neighborhood is safe and quiet, but there are restaurants within a short walk. We had a room with one king-size bed which was comfortable. We were first offered a room one floor up with two double beds, but the décor seemed a little old and the view out the window was obstructed by a cluttered rooftop. The second room we saw was on the third floor with the king bed and a nice view of the street with high rise buildings in the distance. Décor inside and outside of the room was tastefully Mexican with attractive bright colors. We heard no noise from neighbors during our stay. The bathroom has a shower only, with very good pressure and hot water. The staff was helpful. We speak Spanish so there was no language problem, but I doubt if there is much English spoken here. You get a key to your room which you leave at the desk when you go out. There are no drawers in the room for unpacking, but there are shelves in the closet. There is no room safe, but we had no problems.
Really good Argentinian restaurant in the hotel
The staff and restaurant were very good, but the rooms are dated, though large.
Nice hotel near Reforma and Colonia Roma
Nice hotel with colonial air. The rooms are fine and spacious. There were bugs in the room and bed, they should fumigate. We saw ants walking around our bed and even got a tick bite. The included breakfast was very good and the restaurant staff very friendly. Whereas the front desk staff were not so friendly neither helpful.
Lovely stay in safe neighborhood w attentive staff
We had a really lovely stay, due in part to the wonderful service and attentiveness that we were given throughout our stay. The concierge constantly provided us with support for sightseeing and taxis to get to and from the hotel. We also had the wonderful fortune of getting to know Sr. Pedro, who is a licensed turism taxi and who took our family to Teotihuacan and the Basilica de Nuestra Sra. de Guadalupe. The only (very small) downside, was that the room got a little musty - this might be because the windows closest to the sleeping space flanked an internal roofed off courtyard, but it was nothing unbearable.
Basic Mexican hotel
Busy hotel with varied service. Breakfast included is a plus. Basic room with adequate facilities. Bathroom in two different rooms had septic odor. It was located where we wanted to be in Mexico City but caters to tours and therefore there are many people in a crowded lobby and slow service.
Not my first choice for the money
I booked Posada Viena because I was on a tour that started at that hotel, otherwise it would not be my choice. Although there were four people working at the front desk, they never seemed to know exactly what was going on. Broken elevator;there didn't seem to be anyone repairing it in the three days I was there. Also the hotel has no heat and it gets cold at night in January. The neighborhood seemed safe enough but there is nothing of interest there. Ten to fifteen minutes walk to better restauants, banks machines, the metro. There is a very expensive restaurant in the hotel and reasonably priced breakfast cafe. Having said that, it was clean, has a large lobby, and the WiFi works usually.
No frills hotel
Stayed here during 4 nights. The price is unbeatable. However, bed was uncomfortable (hard as wood) and Wi-Fi service was less than reliable . Other than that, hotel is located walking distance from Zona Rosa and various interesting places along Reforma Blvd.
No more staying
I did check out as soon as seeing the room
Mexican decor hotel in Zona Rosa
Nice hotel, Mexican decor. Argentinian restaurant on ground floor. Complimentary breakfast in cafe on ground floor. No air conditioning, but fan in room. Windows open to small courtyard, can be noisy if other guests have windows open. But overall, a very nice place to stay.
Little outdated.Needs more daylight
