Excellent staff. Convenient parking. Great restaurant and coffee shop. Unbeatable location.
Amazing service and staff
Had a great stay
Staff was great Room was spacious
We’ve stayed at south Congress Hotel a number of times visiting our adult children who live in Austin. Staff is friendly. Great location to restaurants and shopping.
Wonderful stay and the staff was great!
Great stay with our pooch
We had a great stay at the South Congress hotel. We brought our dog & they had us in a room with a patio which was great for our pooch. The room was a little worn but it was a suite that they put us in as an upgrade from a regular room. We would definitely come back & stay again!
Architecture, beautiful rooms and building
Great food Walkabity
very clean lovely bed perfect location
I have been going to this hotel since it was opened in 2015. It is in a great location. The facility has not been updated and desperately needs it. The couches in the lobby are threadbare and falling apart. The wood laminate in our room was lifting up in several places. The staff, which historically has been helpful and cheerful, was dour and not helpful at all.
We had an amazing time at the South Congress Hotel! From the moment we booked our stay, the customer service was fantastic. When we arrived, the staff welcomed us with big smiles and made checking in a breeze. They even surprised us with a complimentary bottle of champagne to toast our wedding—such a thoughtful touch! Plus, they went above and beyond for our pup, providing cozy bowls and a comfy bed just for him. We can’t wait to come back!
We had a great stay. The hotel is clean and nice with a great location around lots of walkable shops & restaurants. They have underground parking that makes it great for easy in & out with the option of valet. The front desk was helpful. Our issue was the noise. We stayed on the second floor and they were hosting a wedding on a Saturday night. We could hear every word from the music being played until it was shut down at 11pm. After that, you could hear all of the clean up and shifting around of chairs/tables that night and into the next morning. We turned on a sound machine and that helped.
Great room and convenience
Love this place!
I love this hotel & always stay here when I come to Austin. It’s right in the main drag of South Congress. All the live music, shopping, dining & nightlife is right outside your door & walkable.
The best thing about this quirky hotel are the cleaning ladies. They were so kind and helpful every day. They were so accommodating and considerate. They are the best!
Liked the location and hotel was very clean
So weird to not be able to control the hot water. Also would have liked to have an alarm clock. (or instructions to work the contraption). Staff was very friendly, cool vibes in the decor, fun and hip location
We had a great weekend trip with our dog. The hotel itself has several cafe/restaurant options, but it's also very close to lots of other great spots, Zilker, Town Lake, etc. The room was very clean, comfortable, and spacious. We'll definitely return for another stay.
An amazing hotel and top notch service. We got a suite and it was very comfortable and stylish. Great place for couples.
Great location, great bar. Pricey parking but would stay again.
Friendly staff, great location, nice amenities
Mandy Jo made our check in and out easy and was extremely friendly! Alex was a great valet and helped us with our luggage, super nice guy! Great location, bar service was wonderful. Clean pool and gym.
My husband and I have always loved South Congress Hotel and like supporting local places. Unfortunately next time we visit Austin we will find another place to stay. The best part was the nice valet guy and the bartender at the pool knows how to make a good clean margarita. When we arrived for check in the greeting was ehh, like they were annoyed to help. I called twice about how hot our room was and nobody ever did anything. We had planned to spend Saturday afternoon drinking and lounging by the small pool but the hotel was hosting a drag event. The pool was overtaken with people and a dj, would not have booked the hotel if we would have know. And then at three am the fire alarm went off. Come on SCH I know you can do better. And please buy some new couches for the lobby, the ones there are all torn up and gross.
Beautiful modern hotel with clean rooms, posh bar and pool areas, and very friendly staff. In the heart of South Congress so location could not be better.
Top notch experience all around.
Excellent experience. New hotel that is in great shape with plenty of amenities. The location was amazing. What really impressed me was the staff. The service exceeded what I've received at other hotels with much higher price points. All in all, a very enjoyable experience.
Super loud street noise. It was suppose to be a getaway for my husband and I to catch up on sleep and rest but the street was super loud all night.
Hotel was very nice. A hot tub would’ve been wonderful as well as better lighting in the rooms
Great location, nice large rooms
Everything was great. Perfect locations
This was a great last minute experience.
Great hotel and staff.
LOVED this hotel, the location, the staff was great. Great amenities. Our room was fun, but a little noisy you could hear a random noise that suddenly woke us up. But other than that amazing stay, pool could use a little TLC but it was fun and would stay again in a heartbeat.
Loved the location. Also happy the bar was open later and had food options. Nice clean hotel.
Perfect “chill” for a short respite in a fantastic, electric city
Great property, excellent pool. Friendly and professional staff.
It has the perfect location and a good vibe
Pool was fantastic. Staff was warm and helpful.
Great friends trip!
What an amazing stay! The staff was friendly, water & coffee in the lobby was a nice little bonus. Spent a lot of time in the pool (it wasn’t huge, but it was still refreshing). And the bar in the lobby… where to begin! Bradley was the BEST! He gave us so many suggestions of where to go, what to do and he just made our stay (a group of 6 friends) so much fun.
Great stay and good value for money.
I booked this last minute due to a flight being cancelled and needing to spend one more night in Austin. I loved the place and will consider it for my longer stays. I arrived at the hotel very early in the morning and the person at the front desk accommodated me by immediately making the room available even though (by their policy) they didn't have to accommodate me until 11:00 AM. Great experience all around.
Great room and the staff was very helpful.
Rooms are basic and shower heads painfully over pressurized. Hotel staff is uninterested in putting in any hospitality work. Not worth $500 a night. It’s trying to be a Moxy without any moxy.
Incredible stay — super friendly staff and clean, stylish spaces.
Property was great, front desk staff was super accommodating and eager to make our stay the best!
.Not as expected
Hotel is ok but decorated to a modern aesthetic but not what we expected at this price point. Staff inconsistent about services and perks offered. Staff is super friendly but apparently don't communicate with each other
Stayed at the South Congress for a bachelorette weekend and had the best time. The staff was friendly and the room was comfortable. Enjoyed drinks at the bar and ate a delicious clubhouse poolside.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was very nice with plenty of space,
Hot tub not working.
It is a beautiful property in a prime location on South Congress. We have been here many times, and will keep coming back!
The property intermeshes with the neighborhood and its vibe seamlessly. Not fussy but comfortable and plenty of good quality amenities to check out.
The staff was amazing- Simone, Taylor, Marni Jo, Pedro, Carson, Alex, Frieda, and Sam. All were very friendly, professional, courteous, kind, informative, approachable, and knowledgeable. The hotel is in walking distance of so many restaurants and cultural sites. The pool is beautiful. The bars are very popular! Thank you for making our stay during the eclipse fantastic I am so grateful for the use of the electric bicycles. Thank you for providing them with helmets.
Great bartender
Convenient location, great staff
Great team. Great facility. Great room. Great location.
Wedding being held past 10 pm Window in shower facing directly to bed Square toilet and seat No grab bars in shower with slippery tile floor
Great location. Room 222 had a noisy air conditioner (hummed like an old refrigerator) and the single story ballroom next door was too noisy after 10:00 to drown out.
Several things added to my not enjoying my stay: one light (entry) didn't work, making it hard to read the thermostat although it didn't work so ... There is no way to leave any light on at night due to the design of the room - it seems silly.
The front desk, espcially Louis, was all so helpful! Room was amazing@
Quality rooms and staff in a great part of town
South Congress Hotel was an average hotel. The location is perfect for those wanting to walk around the shops on South Congress. The staff is very friendly. The parking is tricky so we just paid for Valet. Their walls were thin so we did hear a lot of noise. One night it was very difficult to sleep because it sounded like people were working on the pipes as it was very cold there at the time. Very dim lighting inside the rooms. It is also a dog friendly hotel so you might hear some dogs barking.
A must in Austin
Great hotel!! Great location
Love this hotel!
It was very modern in terms of design, in a great area of town. My only thing was (and this might just be Austin in general) that I had to get Uber eats to have any food options after arriving later in the evening. But they were incredibly accommodating with my many requests and I enjoyed my stay.
Modern Vibe
Hotel location is an excellent location for dining or hearing live music. Decor was upscale modern. Room was spacious and bathroom perfect. Room was a bit pricey, but most hotels in the area are expensive.
Always a great experience!
Retro with modern amenities. Very unique property and would highly recommend. Thanks
One of my favorite hotels in the world
We stayed here during ACL weekend and we're so happy we did! The staff was so friendly and the hotel was stunning. The space exceed our expectations.
Nice!
Very nice large room. Nice hotel
Fantastic
Very cute boutique hotel. Great location. Walk to restaurants and shops. Friendly and helpful staff. 15 minutes from the airport.
Great place to stay in Austin. The staff is super and goes out of their way to help out.
Everything was perfect! My only concern was that the blinds were not able to close all the way and light came in. Also, since our room was on the street side, noise came very early too. Lucky I am an early bird.
Check in was easy. Room and grounds were nice and clean. A few Insects were found in the room. Would recommend spraying.
This hotel was great. Everyone employed there was very friendly and helpful.
Great location, loved our room. Would definitely stay again
Very poor lighting in my room. My last visit was the same
Great hotel with lots of character. Great staff! Nice pool. Great location! Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a great place to stay in the SOCO area!!
Beautiful Experience for my wife’s Birthday
Great place in Austin to be close to downtown but not in the thick of everything. South Congress is perfect for walking and shopping, and the hotel is in the center of it all!
Nice hotel for partying, not for sleeping
Very nice hotel but make sure your room doesn't face the courtyard. The rooms are not soundproof, the music is loud and doesn't quiet down until after midnight.
There are not functioning TVs. And the bar was closed and they said there was room service but there was not.
The South Congress Hotel is perfectly located in Austin, the staff are all friendly the rooms are beautiful and very clean!
Great location.
It’s a very loud hotel. Not ideal for quiet (lots of random booms and bangs in the middle of the night- no idea if it was maintenance or elevators or what). But it’s cute and close to everything on So Congress. Valet team was amazing.
Nice boutique hotel with art deco vibe. The pool was relaxing. Although the music playing was horrible. I like that it's dog friendly. I enjoy the SoCo area.
Cool, comfortable hotel and friendly, helpful staff.
Atmosphere and amenities were terrific! I was there for business but felt like pleasure!
Loved it.
Loved this hotel. Great location and hip vibe overall. The pool was awesome.
Cute and clean. The staff was great and so accommodating. Highly recommend staying here. Also, best night sleep I’ve had in a long time.
Grest location and friendly staff
It was like staying in a dungeon. Dark, concrete ceilings, lots of noise, nothing warm or inviting at all. Towels felt like sandpaper, bathrooms were cold and shower was ridiculous. Won’t be staying here again.
It used to be the best in Austin they let it go
The staff was always very nice however service was slow my room’s A/C didn't work through put the night and It was miserable and the safe did not work and they couldn’t fix it nor offer a solution
Perfect location on South Congress
Great stay. Everything was perfect, start to finish. Service excellent, room clean and comfortable, beautiful design. The morning cafe was amazing- get the cherry almond croissant.
Great Hotel
The hotel was very centrally located in Austin. There was lots of activity i.e. shops, bars, restaurants, and bookstores near the hotel. The Café No Sé was wonderful with great food & service. Staff was very helpful & polite. Overall, this is a great hotel!
Great Area - Hotel just meh...
Lighting in the rooms is very dim. No coffee maker in room. Cafe off-site next door. Seemed overpriced for the hotel. I travel appx. 70 nights/year, and this hotel wasn't on the top of my list. The area is fantastic for restaurants and true gritty Austin feel.
This is a super cute, trendy, hipster type hotel. The lobby area is great with a fun bar area, live DJ and plenty of work space. There are two restaurants but one of them has VERY limited hours. The pool is very underwhelming, not as nice as the photos and no one ever working the bar area up there. The biggest disappointment however was the staff. Not sure if it's because everyone working there is very young and doesn't know better (not really an excuse), but there is no etiquette or customer service whatsoever. I emailed the hotel twice before arriving regarding our stay and got no response. We must have walked in and out of the hotel at least 50 times over the course of the 5 days we were there and not once greeted by front desk staff. It is like they intentionally look away/don't make eye contact. Very bizarre! Attempted to dine at the restaurant twice. I went around 11:15 both times. Literally stood there for 10 minutes both times without anyone coming over to ask if I wanted to be seated. Again, no eye contact, everyone just goes about their business. Restaurant was half full but yet was told there was a wait list. There is a big communal table in the middle and not even offered that. Our flight was delayed a few hours so asked about a late check out and was just told "No, check out is at 12". There was no "sorry wish we could accomodate you, but hotel is full today, etc." JUST ABSOLUTELY NO COURTESY OR ETIQUETTE WHATSOVER WITH HOTEL STAFF!!!
Great location. Best room we’ve stayed in!
Pros: Excellent location for walkability, comfortable bed, artistic touches around the property, kind and helpful front desk staff, steamer in room, easy load area for Ubers to pick up/drop off, black out shade, late checkout, held luggage, great breakfast restaurant on property, reasonably priced beverages in minibar if needed. Cons: No coffee maker in rooms, no space to put personal item in refrigerator, had to unplug lamps to get an outlet for charging phone or curling iron, extremely dark lighting in halls and rooms, clear shower door to room (awkward when traveling with non partner), cleaning staff came to tidy up at literally the most inconvenient times (for example, 4:30 when getting back to the hotel to freshen up after a day out and about though maybe due to understaffing) and took away robes after day 1 (not sure why), no place to sit outside in the sun to read a book or catch up on work (pool area was closed for repairs including the lounging area), fashion over function for almost everything in the room (for example chicken wire garbage pail without liners so hair, wrappers, crumbs, small garbage falls out onto floor), entire hotel lobby and lobby bar space full on both Saturday and Sunday night for large weddings which was uncomfortable regarding Covid safety. None of these would be a big deal, except it cost $400 a night after taxes/fees/property fee added.
Perfect location, Perfect place to stay in Austin!
Thoroughly enjoyed the South Congress Hotel. I would call it high end hipster. Be sure to visit the Manana coffee shop while you are there.

It’s a great location. And a nice hotel, but it needs better servicing of rooms. And better lighting in rooms. Love a great mood lighting situation, but when you feel like every corner has misplaced items, it’s annoying.
