Nov 2024 Sotetsu Fresa Inn Hamamatsucho
A very nice hotel, good breakfast, quiet, the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, everything you needed was there, no frills, but to be honest who needs them if you out all day sightseeing ! You just want to return to a hot shower and good nights sleep in a well kept room and comfy bed !
Had a language barrier with staff. But we worked it out. Nice place.
The staff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was reasonably priced and ample. The location although a little further than the other Soestsu Fresa in the area is a little longer walk the area is very convenient.
Nice room, I liked the view!
Really cool location. Rooms are nice, breakfast was good. Hallways are sort of outside so very dusty and not air conditioned
The property needs some care, at least on the central part part of the building, where it has an open roof. In my case the bathroom also needs some care, where the shower is. Besides that everything was great.
Excellent, great location to transport links. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. If I booked again I would probably book a larger room just for comfort
A bit cramped and rundown. Still clean.
Clode to JR station
Useful and good value if you want to be in this part of the city.
The hotel is located within 15 min walk from Tokyo Tower, and in my opinion that should be pointed out as a highlight.. it’s close to a subway.. but the distance like 4min walk that’s indicated on Expedia description is unrealistic.. unless you run.. The property is on a small side but that’s to be expected.. overall - a good option/price.
Compact and serve the purpose of short stay
The space of my room was unexpectedly smaller than I expected, however, I was satisfied with the location close to the stations for JR, Monorail and subway station.
We liked the area and the staff were extremely helpful! The room was smaller than other Fresa Inns we stayed at, and the hall area didn’t seem super clean. Otherwise the location was great for transportation and temples!
The staff is very nice and helpful.
Excellent
Staff was friendly and helpful. The room we booked was a bit small for 2, but was clean and bed was comfortable. I'd stay there again.
Reliable hotel close to Hamamatsucho station so easy to get to from Haneda Airport on the monorail. Also convenient for Tokyo Tower & Shinbashi. Polite and helpful staff.
quiet area, quick check in
Unsleepable with poor air conditioning
I’m pretty easy with minimalist settings, which this was, with tiny room and aesthetics of retro Japanese business hotel. But the toughest part was room air conditioning. There were various settings for the high wall unit, but the room so small that they didn’t make any difference. Either on (blows hard, directly on my face) or off (squelching hot in late June. Price was over 10,000 yen, which is standard for small room but air conditioning was a killer. I’ve stayed in this chain before, but didn’t expect it to be this bad. Minimal service, self-serve amenities, all expected. Room phone couldn’t make outside calls, a bit surprising. Location was fine, just 5 minutes off the beaten path of Hamamatsu Cho. No way I’ll go back.
It the best placeful and peaceful. Wanna come back next trip to Tokyo Thanks,
Good
This hotel was great.
No frills, gets the job done for the price. Close to the JR Line and Haneda express a few local cafe's nearby
Basic budget hotel. Entry to rooms are exterior, room is small and dated.
Breakfast is good.
Staff is extremely friendly, checked-in, in English with no problem, breakfast is great and service lady is friendly. Loved my stay for the budget.
Workers was very nice but our room was second floor. This second floor was like a storage floor and uncomfortable, and in front of the hotel, there were always a few men smoking cigarettes, which made me feel uncomfortable.
Quaint Stay in Southern Tokyo
Spacious room for a Japanese hotel. Beds fairly comfortable but the pillows were a bit stiff. Wifi was good for business but trying to do anything else the you'll have issues during high traffic hours. Amenities; razors, hair and skin care, coffee, etc are all self service shelf near the check in. Check-in and out is automated, but the staff are friendly and helpfulif you have issues. Staff speak enough English to solve most issues. Housekeeping was top notch, can't thank them enough for dealing with all our trash and recycling. Two Overall a very pleasant stay, good location between two major train stations and two subway stations within 5 minutes and two convenience stores less than 2 minutes and tons of food in-between.
Great Service
Receptionist spoke English and was able to help me through the check-in and checkout process great service
よく利用させていただいています。今回は特にお安く宿泊出来ました。タオルの替えが常備されていると嬉しいです。チェックイン機使い難いです。
Reasonable fee in convenient location not so far from stations of shimbashi, shiodome, daimon and Hamamatsu cho though it not a bit easy to find. Corridors of each floor is faced to atrium with no roof, so it is cold/hot in winter/summer, it surprised but no problem.
I've just stayed here without some preference of hotel
Little noisy at night
Great place to stay if you’re flying in or out of Haneda Airport since the monorail station is a short walk away. The area has plenty of food and drink options. The hotel is near plenty of stations if you want to explore more of Tokyo. The staff was nice and polite.
Good Value for Money
The hotel is a few minutes walk from the Daimon station and It's also walking distance to another 2 stations Hamamatsucho JR station and Shiodome station. It is located in rather like an office area, so it's pretty quiet area when comparing to some major districts in Tokyo. But there are a lot of restuarants and also convenience stores nearby. So there's no need to worry if you are hungry or want to have a drink. The hotel room is small, but like most of the hotels in Japan, so that is expected. Room is clean and comfortable. The hotel also offers free stuff like DHC skin care samples like cleansing oil, lotion, facial mask, tea bags etc. in the lobby in which all the customers can take it for free. There're also free tea and coffee available. Considering the price, I think this hotel is good value for money.
5-7 minutes walk to Onarimon, Daimon and Hamamatsu cho station. Little dark and quiet street from a block inside from busy street.
if this property can add vegan option to their breakfast menu
Feels kinda old but basic cleanliness is maintained. Appreciate the free amenities at the lobby which includes many skin care products!
Excellent Hotel.
I only stayed one night here at the end of a 3 week Trip to Japan for the Rugby World Cup 2019 . Prior to this I had stayed at Hostel Style Accommodation.( which I hasten to add worked extremely well) However the evening and night I spent at this Hotel was a ‘treat’ ! Perfect Reception from staff very Welcoming. My bedroom was Perfect could not have asked for better . Great Value for money , in a Supetb location . Walking distance to Tokyo Tower, which So was able to visit whilst leaving my luggage after Checking Out . Great efficiency in keeping my rather expensive leather jacket which I had left in my room and Staff were immediately able to retrieve this for me upon collection of my Luggage. Breakfast paid at an additional cost of 1100Y - Excellent. Highly Recommend.
My sons room was so dirty that he ended having an asthma attack. extremely disappointing. You could see the dirt and dust piling up on the sides of the room and the corridors. Not good. Strange to see a new property getting that way.
Staff was nice & room was nice!! Highly recommend staying here.
Great Place to stay.
Stayed here for my first night in Japan. It was easy to find, cheap and the staff were very helpful.
Clean, good hospitality. Choices of transportation in walking distances. The area is more like business district but you can find various food options.
Decent Business Hotel
Good simple hotel, just enough space for one. Location is great, staff is friendly, and they provide all basic toiletries plus some extras. My only issue was the pillows were quite hard so I ended up having to sleep without them. Entrance walls could use a paint job. Other than that good.
An average inn that does its job
I have stayed at this inn three times over the past half a year. I tend to book this place over some others in the area simply because it is closest to the venue of my business, and it is usually a couple of thousands JPY cheaper than some of the business hotels of the same grade in the area. Their single rooms are minimal in size and doesn't really have any unique features, but I think it does its job. They had a Chinese-speaking clerk at the reception when I checked in this time.
Not a 100% clean hotel
The room was not clean at all, found hair everywhere inside my room, disgusting.
Very small hotel. Carpet is dirty. Dusty room. The aircon is full of dust
Tokyo trip
Nice and accomodating staff, near. Stations and restaurants., my only problem is there's no complimentary water and the room is so small
Ignore Expedia's cautions about check-in. Hotel reception is 24/7. Nearest subway Daimon exit A4. Or Onarimon exit A3. Very small rooms which have perceptibly been smoked in, but if you find they are cramped you must agree they are economical and well thought out. Good WiFi throughout. Heating, air conditioning and shower all work as they should. A ground floor breakfast room later in the morning becomes a lounge open to guests until midnight with free machine coffee. Upstairs vending machines sell drinks including beer and snacks, plus there are two washing and drying machines. TV programmes all Japanese. Convenience stores nearby.
Clean, Quiet Room, Reasonable Price and Good Area
Friendly and good services by staff. Rooms were clean and cleaning staff were helpful and did a good job. Very small rooms, with little room to even walk. It was not possible to even sit in a chair. We did expect that but it does affect your comfort. You can buy an outstanding Japanese breakfast everyday but no Western food option. This seems to be a popular place for Japanese Businessmen staying overnight on business trips. We would recommend it if you don't expect to spend much time in the room except to sleep, take a shower, etc. Lots of restaurants and convenience stores nearby as well as a Starbucks.
Easy to find and near lots of convenience stores and food places
Fine accommodation for short business trip
Nothing to complain. Nice and quiet location.
Good location. Direct access to both airports.
It was nice that it's near the train station, and there's convenience stores and eateries around the area. However, there was a half drank drink in the fridge on the day I checked in, till the very last day I check out.
I was in Tokyo for two days, flying in and out of Haneda, so I wanted a hotel that was convenient to the airport but also close to the city. This hotel fit the bill perfectly: it's a short walk from the terminus of the monorail to Haneda, and close to several train/metro lines that easily get you anywhere in Tokyo. The neighborhood itself is quiet (for Tokyo), with close access to places to eat and drink. The hotel staff are very friendly, and I was able to leave my bags at the reception before check-in and after check-out at no charge (there would be a charge if I wanted access to the room, but I didn't). The room itself was rather basic, as expected: a comfortable bed, a small desk, full toilet and bath, and excellent fast internet. Overall a great place and I'd happily stay here again.
No room to open the luggage. Slow wifi
Convenient hotel for business
Located inside a quiet alley so a good nights’ rest is ensured. Convenience store within 2 min walk, underground within 5 min walk, main street with restaurants and shops are also 5 min away. Perfect for business travellers.
Very small room for that price. They don’t offer free socket adaptor, I had to pay for it. Poor breakfast.
Not worth the money at all
Very rude staff at the front!!! Which is surprising from a Japanese hotel, her name was Aram Lee and some sort of trainee but just amazingly disconcertnee and rude about guests coming in with luggage. Room is Extremely Small!!!! I paid more for a larger bed and slightly larger room but even that was just absolutely tiny, kept on bumping into stuff. You may think with such a basic hotel they will include their basic breakfast but not all, it’s extra extra charge !
comfort
the only concern is the entry doors do not seal out cold air from entering the room. had to use clothing to block
The necessities (cleanser, toner, moisturizer, hair mask, body sponge, hair tie, etc) they provided are more than sufficient! Staffs are very approachable too! :)
Great hotel and location. 5mins walk to Onarimon/ Daimon station.
Bijou but brilliant.
A really good hotel. Excellent location - really close to Daimon subway & Hamamatsucho. Rooms are small but not too small. Bathroom & toiletries are fantastic. Lots of hot water & good quality shower products. Perfect for arriving in Tokyo. Staff very helpful & stored bags for us. Comfy bed. Hoping to book again on return to Tokyo.
It was predictably good/great.
Nice Korean staff
Nice Korean staff. The hotel is just a compact hotel. Just worth the price. Good if you are just staying in Tokyo for short time.
Staffs are very friendly and helpful.. is a very good experience, for sure will come back when visiting Tokyo again
No what we saw in pictures!
No what we saw in the pictures! we were so disapointed! It was so small and uncomfortable. Too pricey for what it was
Japanese standard business hotel
This hotel had everything you expect from business hotels of this class. Breakfast (additional charge), coffee in the front lobby and toiletries. The room was tiny, but it is expected also. I stayed at another fast growing hotel that is very similar to Fresh Inn, and they had a big screen TV on the wall in the room, and English news channel. I think Fresh Inn should have those to be competitive. But again, Fresh Inns seem to be catered to Japanese business people who don'think care for English channels.
Convenient location, good base for exploring
Fitting an extra bed in made the room rather cramped, but much better than having to pay for 2 rooms.
Great location and amenities for Tokyo visit
Hotel was clean, friendly and comfortable. Conveniently located and close to trains (Daimon and main stations) easy walking distance, close to many great restaurants, especially for dinner. In-house breakfast option was very nice. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
Good location. Easy access to major attraction. We had a handicap room so everything from bathtub to basin are quite low but bigger space.
Bugs in the room
In the room there were many little bugs in the shower.
nice stay
Good location, walking distance to train station and many restaurants. Room was very spacious with large bathroom, good breakfast included
Nice place.
Nice hotel. Very clean. Excellent breakfast buffet available. Computer in lobby one can use and only about 100-200 meters to two different subway lines. I would definitely stay there again and I have been to about 40 countries as a solo traveler and senior citizen.
Nice hotel
This hotel mostly caters to business travelers but our family of three stayed here in April and it was a nice hotel. Probably the largest rooms of any we had in our travels in Japan. The breakfast buffet was amazing and delicious with a lot of choices. We chose this hotel as it was near the end of our travels and we wanted to be close to Haneda airport. This is walkable to the monorail to Haneda but easy access to the Toei and JR metro lines to get to anywhere you want to be in central Tokyo.
1 night hotel
Hotel room is very small, no drinking bottle of water and hot kettle. Location is near local Resturant there are convenient stores around. Overall maybe 1 night stay is good enough.
good
over all a good stay, small room like every hotels in tokyo. a bit far fm train station. like 5-7 mins
Good value, as described.
Budget accommodation in a quiet neighborhood but close to a metro station.
Loved it. Very convenient. Staff was friendly and room was very clean.
Nice hotel in a convenient location
While the hotel room was small (as we expected) the bed was very comfortable with great amenities and the staff were all very helpful. Only a short walk to Daimon station made it very convenient to get around and there were some great restaurants close by. I would stay here again.
Good location but small room
The location is very good. Both Metro and JR/Monorail are in a walking distance even though Hamamatsucho (JR) is a bit far. The room is neat but too small for two people. There no space to open two luggage at the same time. The bed is comfy and wifi is good. I didn't have breakfast, so I don't know is it ok or not. However, comparing to the price, it is reasonable.
lurve the place.situated at very convenient location.the subway and jr railway.frdly staff .i will advice to hv a bigger range of food selection for muslim customer for breakfast.for muslim there is a halal indian restaurant.i nvr try it but i hv ask the staff they said its halal.
Small very small but excellent location
Small room, great location. Tucked away in an "alley", not easy to find but just steps from the busy city. Many restaurants line the alley; Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Italian, American etc. 7-11, Lawsons and Family Mart well within waking distance, McDonalds and Mos Burgers too. Close to the main train station and Tokyo Tower about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Our room was really small but the hotel offers great amenities. Japanese style breakfast was great for us because we're familiar with this type of meals; others might prefer to eat out. Very quiet area - would definitely stay there again. We got a cab from Haneda because the bus transportation that I booked does not go to the hotel and we didn't want to deal with luggage on the train while trying to find the hotel. The staff was very limited in speaking English but we were able to communicate well enough. And lastly, not a good shopping area if you're a shopaholic.
Location the only draw
Cold room, bathroom fan wouldn't turn off, and made random noises during the night. Door from room had a gap underneath which let smoke and cold air through. Pillows were tiny. Don't stay here.
Convenient location
The breakfast area was small and very crowded when I got there around 6:40 am. It took a while to get my breakfast ready. It was the only issue I had during my stay.
We just stay for couple of hours, because we arrived late at night in haneda. the room is small but it has a great view.
Great Locale
Great location if you want to have some fun in Tokyo and then get to the Narita airport without much hassle.
Great Loation - Pleasant stay!
Staffs are all very helpful - fluency in English was a massive bonus. Could not have picked a better location for our stay - placed centrally to all major hits in Tokyo inclucing Narita Airport
Perfect Budget Hotel
I've stayed at many different Fresa Hotel's over the years and this one was as expected. Close to Train and convenience stores, quiet, and friendly staff.
Convenient, affordable, clean hotel
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Although the room was small, we didn't mind as it had everything we needed for an affordable price. Would definitely stay here again!
A place to stay, no more, no less
Easy to get to. Use Exit A5 at Diamon station and google map to minimize walking.(turn right coming out of A5 and walk <5 minutes). There's a Lawson convenience store on the way, within one minute of walk from hotel entrance. Check in was easy if booked thru Hotels.com. They just need everyone's passport to make copies. Easy 15 minute walk to Tokyo Tower. Lots of restaurants around. Very small room by US standard,(a full sized bed against one wall, a desk/TV stand against the opposite wall, with 2 feet of space in between), but has fridge, hot water bottle, hair dryer, and tooth brush/paste. No in-room safe. Very quiet. Not flexible with check out time of 10am, but will hold your luggage (til 1pm for us). Friendly, English speaking (though very limited) staff.
Good value, comfortable hotel
We had a two night stay at this hotel which was located down a quiet side street, unaffected by traffic noise. We chose it as it was not too far from Hamamatsucho station which is on the other end of the mnorail from Haneda airport. Although the room was small, it was comfortable and everything was clean and in good order. We had the breakfast which was very nice with a choice of hot and cold items.
Convenient location
Close to subway stations, stores, restaurants and Tokyo Tower
Clean and convenient
No frills hotel , clean and convenient. But rooms are very small and not suitable for family or with kids.
Not for non-smokers and JR users
I shall not book the hotel full of smoking smell and inconvenient for JR user
Could'nt be better!
Cleaning standards not up to par
The location of this hotel is excellent, the staff is friendly and very helpful, the building and the rooms are new, and the price is right. Rooms are extremely small, which is what made me give a lower ranking for comfort. But for Tokyo, it is completely normal. However, I have grown up in Japan and have been traveling there at least once a year for the past 16 years and have never seen a room before at a Japanese hotel that lacked cleaning. Unfortunately, the air conditioner was completely clogged up with dust and since it was a cold night and we had the heater going, it means we were breathing in all that dust. Otherwise, there was no problem with cleaning but this was quite a shock. I am attaching pictures.
Clean, close to subway but small
Nice and clean but too small for two persons. We could barely open our suitcases for unpacking and packing. Not a good choice if you are big shopper. However, it is very close to the subway which make the access to different places very convenience. Check-in and out timing is really bad. Biz clients may be ok but its really bad for family and guests who are on vancaiton.
Good Value
The room is really small, but in a city like Tokyo that is to be expected. After a while I did appreciate that it was actually cozy. The essentials are there so I didn't really need to look for anything else. Getting to the hotel from Haneda airport was very easy. One monorail train, no need to transfer.
Good place to stay
