Simple is what you get

The overall Building could use some updating. The elevator was like a suspense movie. The jerking & sudden stopping wasn't good.

This place was disgusting to the point i didnt even want to check in. It was a walking covid case and the person at the front desk was not any help at all. I dont understand how you even have the nerve to try and charge me $90 for a day when 1. The hotel was clearly not at any capactity to try and charge me for booking a room when i didnt even check in and 2. This place is absolutely disgusting and i dont see how anyone woild want to stay here. If i didnt even check in didnt sign any documents at all why are they tryingn to charge me, this place is absolutely horrid😡

For what I paid for this room I was pleased. I wouldn't pay over $100 to stay here. The queen suite is more pleasing the the lobby and halls. Walls are SUPER thin. Low ceiling. Super comfy bed.

Clean and nicely furnished although for an extended stay, the room was small and dark. Requested an accessible room via prepaid reservation. When I spoke to staff uppon arrival, none were available.

Carpet was old and musty, Property looked an old hotel that they started to renovate and didn't finish. Dogs were allowed which I did not like. Some dogs were barking off an on all night.

Okay for a couple nights

It was pretty clean room looked somewhat updated. Hotel itself needs updating. Carpet has an odor and elevator was very creepy. We took the stairs. Overall good stay.

Everything was absolutely perfect

We were surprised at how much space we had in the room. The bed was comfortable. I wish the TV was bigger and in a different location but that wasn't a deal breaker. There were plenty of food options nearby as well. We came for an overnight stay but if we return and stay longer, we'll staying here again.

My room was clean & quiet. I got a really good nights sleep.

Worst Hotel Experience Ever!

My family and I were visiting for a funeral for my son we was there for eight days and this was the worst hotel we’ve ever stayed in and I will never stay there again. The lady at the front desk was very rude and her appearance was not presentable for what’s supposed to be guest services. This hotel was nothing like it was described at all, the trash was not emptied and the bathroom door had blood on it and when I called the front desk to tell them about they said they were going to have the manager call me and no one ever called for the whole eight days we were there. The trash in the hallway was running over everyday and the smell was unbearable!

Excellent value!

I have stayed in many hotels across several states and this one by far was the cleanest with the friendliest staff and beat any prices I’ve seen in years!! In a nice neighborhood, well kept building, very comfortable bed, bedding and towels. It comes with a partially equipped kitchen and the room was very spacious as well. We loved it!

Kitchenette Rooms Amazing

Great hotel! Absolutely love that it had a kitchenette. All hotels should be this way. Great location for visiting the Oak Mountain State Park.

Very nice property and everything we.needed was around.

Older property that needs some remodeling. Hallway carpets really need replaced. Rooms were nice and large and somewhat updated. Bed was comfortable. Quiet area.

Loved our stay!! Couldn’t find anything wrong with our room except the blow dryer! It was a nice quiet stay, so we will definitely be back!

It was not so good. Room was a little dingy and had chipped paint and looked a little in need of TLC. Also the room next-door was up partying and singing loudly until 4:00 in the morning

This is the better sonesta in town

It was great and the staff made me feel like this was a step up from the other sonesta hotel. There’s a huge degree of difference in quality from that .5 star

This property is great if you need a place to stay that is affordable and has extra amenities like a kitchen with fridge and dishwasher. You can do your laundry for free; just pay for the detergent. The only bummer was that the gym was closed at this time and I never did find the complementary coffee during the mornings. That said, overall, our stay was pleasant, and everything was located nearby (i.e. groceries, fuel, restaurants and hospital).

Location was slightly secluded in a Corporate area, in which I loved. However, once you come out, you are on a busy street. Overall experience was good.

EXCELLENT!

I have stayed in many hotels in this area because I work here but I live 2 hours away. Every one that i have visited I have used a can of Lysol before I would touch ANYTHING. I even found weed in one. Sonesta was one of the CLEANEST hotels that I have every stayed at. Didn't use a drop of my disinfectant! Bravo!👏👏

Whoever does the cleaning... job well done I did not see 1 piece of hair... that’s the most disgusting thing ever no matter the ticket of the hotel. The white linen was WHITE... no hair in the linen... I really want to say... THANKS.. the property was ok for the $.

Once I got the hotel to check in the says we canceled you room. They tried to run my card before I got there, didn’t call me to tell me my room was cancel and didn’t give me a good reason why

Good place to stay. Was a bit hard to find with temporary signage and off main road location but quiet.

After having my reservation canceled by another hotel down the road... I arrived late at night to helpful and friendly staff. Rooms were clean and sanitized, amenities were nice. I was in town to coach a soccer tournament, the location was within 10-15 minutes of everything.

Everything waa great I enhoyed my stay....I would recommend this hotel.

Very friendly staff , quick and easy check in ., only $25 deposit , rooms were sanitized and very clean ., TVs were a little outdated but the over all experience was great .

Room had a whole kitchen with a stovetop microwave dish washer everything. Had a general store set up downstairs so we didnt have to leave for small things.

The property was old. The carpet was not clean. This is not a property that should issued through your service. Very disappointed in hotel and the customer service rep. While her roster was crowing in the background, she attempted to explain US contract law to myself, attorney, and that I had no remedies.

The room was good. The parking lot was dimly lit.

Hairy shower

Our bathroom was not cleaned properly. There was long red hair all over the shower. I alerted the front desk and all he said was “Oh”. I will not stay here on my next trip.

This hotel is so run down. The key system to get into your room does not work. We have to get assistance around 4 time to be able to open. When we came in, there was hair in the coffee table in the living room and in the bathroom. The dishwasher door will not close properly to be able to use it. Also the door for the bathroom would not work properly, you would have to push it really hard to make it close. I called Hotel.com to cancel my next day hotel and they did not cancel it. We had to go to a Walmart to buy some blankets to put on top of bed to be able to sleep. This been the worst place I have stayed in. *We picked this place because some of my daughter’s team where staying there. Wrong choice 👎

We liked that it was in a nice area, convenient to everything. I will say that the standard is not as high as other hotels in this chain, but they make up for it in customer service.

Just Bad

Hotel was outdated. Smelled like a damp basement in our room. We were on motorcycles and could not park properly. No king beds. It wasn’t an enjoyable nights stay...we couldn’t wait to leave...will never go back again.

The room is very outdated and doesn’t fit the standard for the SpringHill Suites reputation ... the outside of the building is very old .. however the staff are very nice and made calls to the room to see if I needed anything ...

The Staff were helpful and caring. They offered pantry food for sale based on honor system workout room and laundry in same general area.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The room was comfortable and way more spacious than I thought it would be. I appreciated the kitchenette and desk space. The bed was super comfy and I slept very well. The staff were very helpful and courteous. The price was very economical for the quality of the room. 10/10, will stay here again when I’m in town next.

The area that we stayed in was absolutely amazing. Hoover is beautiful in this area is very safe I had no worries at all. Our hotel room was actually very nice and very clean. I have no complaints concerning that either. The only thing is that when you’re walking through the hallways it literally looks like an old rundown building or something. You can tell the rooms have been updated but the hallways have not. It’s not bad but I was a little nervous going up to our room because I thought it was going to be bad or something. Nevertheless I would definitely stay here again.

Good and not so good

I stayed for a week. Some front desk personnel were great; some not even good. Zero lobby space makes it hard to meet others in a convenient, identifiable space. Parking and location was excellent. Kitchen and combo desk/table was great. Bathroom was not clean or attractive. Living room furniture was hard as a rock. Windows were not large enough to let in enough light. Laundry and vending area was nice, generous, and clean. Room refrigerator with ice maker turned OFF was still pretty loud. The worst thing is that you couldn't turn off the bedroom overhead light from the bed. So, you had to go to bed in the pitch black and get up the same way. No reading in bed. No bedside lamp with an independent switch.

It was great I used the room for what it was worth.

More than expected

The room was a lot bigger than expected. It was super quiet. It was clean.

Overall great hotel. Staff were amazing and the room exceeded expectations. The only negatives of the hotel for me were lack of a pool and the bathroom door in my room did not latch closed or lock.

My fiancé and I had a great stay. Even though we saw a couple of ants in the bathroom there weren’t many. The stove top and the regular sized fridge was well needed and used and the location is near plenty of restaurants and stores.

Too many different air sanitizers made the air smell too strong. Strange way of doing drinks and snacks (no vending machines, honor system in place and they were way over priced). Room was clean.

broken refrigerator

Room was great except the refrigerator, which did not work. Lobby gave me ice and a gift card because of the broken refrigerator.

I would really like to know why the price I was charged was different (cheaper) than the receipt I received from the hotel?

Comfortable place to conduct business

My room was well-equipped. There were a good deal of pots and pans, adequate silverware and so forth to enable effortless cooking. A full-size refrigerator and dishwasher both functioned properly. The lending service,where I was able to borrow a larger coffee maker, waffle iron, games and so forth was a nice touch. The little store was also appropriately stocked. And the mattress on my bed was comfortable!

Will stay again.

Great hotel for me. Older structure with a lot of upgrades. Nice gym but GREAT YMCA access a mile away. Free washer and dryers. On Hwy 280, any and everything, restaurants, grocery stores, fast food, shopping. Hotel is not 5 star but definitely is safe, friendly, comfortable and convenient.

Is this an Extended Stay Hotel?

For $120+ for the night you would think that everything all around was decent. I’ve been in some of the top hotels for that price and EVERYTHING was wonderful. I should not have to walk in my room and say, Well at least the room is somewhat decent. It looked like an old extended stay hotel that that they tried to remodel and they forgot to remodel the lobby area and the hallway.

No pool area, no complimentary breakfast... the attendant was really nice and sweet! Would stay again!

Overpriced But Good Enough

The service was fantastic but for the price of one night at this hotel, it could be a little more updated.

Like people, room size, amenities. Good only to sleep and go. You can save money because has a full kitchen and full desk.

What we were hoping for in a short stay

Good for a quick overnight stay. Clean room, friendly staff. Hotel is a bit older but they keep seem to try and keep it nice.

It's definitely more geared toward people staying for a while and is a bit more utility based than comfort based, but still did the job for a single night! Odd to have a smaller room with a dishwasher, dinnerware and utensils, a fridge, a couple burners, and a microwave. But definitely not complaining about the amenities.

If you need kitchen and laundry, this hotel provides you that. But nothing great about this. It's OK.

More friendlier hotels to choose from

Took over an hour to check in as clerk could not find reservation where I booked 3 rooms which I had already paid for. She insisted I call Hotel.com on the spot and find out where they messed up! Turned out to be this hotel's problem. Bath tub could not hold water. All the rooms were to be smoke free but ended up one had to spend night in a room which had been smoked in.

The location is great. I thought the place was a little run down but my bed was clean and comfortable. the carpets were dirty and it just seemed very outdated. At the end of the day, i got what i paid for; a clean bed, internet, a t.v. and accessibility to my business destinations.

Property seems older, but thats not the issue. Its that while pet friendly, your room shouldnt smell like a dog, and after arriving late to find the a/c running there was the slightest hint of a smell when I walked in. Not unbearable, but wakkng up in the middle of the night when the a/c had stopped blowing the entire room smelled like an unbathed dog. Worse yet, I’m pretty sure some nasty person put a dog on the bed, or used the covers for the dog on the floor. The a/c init had a air freshener on it. Upon looking in the a/c unit it had dog hair and wet crust all in the vent. Add in the couple of small bugs, and I would never book again. The towels were fresh, some pillows were fresh, bed seemed clean. Room layout nice for business traveler, especially if they have a dog, or don’t mind not being able to put anything down on the floor. Location is good.

A jem off 280

We found this jam that is somewhat off 280. It is quiet, rooms are pure luxury and they even let u wash & dry ur clothes free. Very big rooms with bathroom and good size kitchen. What a find- thank you.

Unpleasant stay.

This hotel stay was very unpleasant. Hair was in the tub and sink. The toilet seat was dirty. Upon arrival the front desk ladies were not welcoming.

Nice hotel. Would stay any time we are in the area.
