I feel like I've been catfished. The room looks nothing like the photos. mix matched appliances, run down, a smell of ramen noodles that I can't seem to get rid of. Its a very 2 star hotel at best. Perks, the floor is quiet, front desk was nice and hospitable and there is security to overlook the parking lot. Just disappointed in what I thought I was paying for.
It was "aight"
It was okay. Needs renovated elevators and carpets.
Very good stay. Nice, clean and close to Domain.
It's a sub-par property. The room had a lingering smell of cigarettes even though I was in a non-smoking room. Otherwise, nothing special. If you're just going to be in and out for a day or two, it's fine. There is no breakfast or anything, but there are some places nearby.
The staff here is so kind and friendly. However, my room made me sick. I had to keep the window open and then fan in the bathroom on. The rugs were "Moist" and the after sleeping overnight, I would wake up with raging headaches that would go away as soon as I left within 10 minutes. The dishwasher had dirty dishes in it. I feel horrible leaving this review as the staff was SO nice and helpful. This hotel needs a remodel. The elevators always smelled like someone was smoking weed IN the elevators and it was smoky.
Austin reunion trip
I had a great room on the third floor, in the corner so I was shielded from other rooms' noise for the most part. Matt was great, very friendly and helpful.
The mini kitchen is a nice perk, stocked with cookware and other essentials. There is a lending area with items like a blender. A BBQ area is also provided. Bed was comfy and the room was clean. The AC and full size fridge were kind of loud at night, but the area is relatively quiet. Very pet friendly!
The property looked old on the inside. the handle on the bath tub was loose. There was a burn in the carpet. I didn't see a cleaning person one time. The gym equipment was dirty. The remote for the TV in the room didn't work. The caulk job in the rooms bathroom looked like a 2 year old did it. There was an abandoned card in the paring lot that said if not picked up by 10/14 it will be towed and it was 10/24.
Expect to be charged a $100 security deposit upon checking in. Room was remodeled heavily and could see all repairs on the walls, ceilings, and floors etc. I didn’t even bother to report anything I only stay one night. Just made sure to take pictures of everything just in case they tried to keep the $100 deposit, that I was forced to adhere.
Sonesta is SUPERB
This was my first stay at a Sonesta property. Everyone made my stay so enjoyable. Great staff
Domain Stay
It was a nice area to stay shops and restaurants close by movie theater across the street
Great value.
Very good room for the money. All amenities. Fast check in.
AC in room worked very well and room was nicely appointed. Elevators were a bit wonky.
There was mold on the ceiling and wall. Asked front desk for a full refund and was told to get with hotels.com
This seemed like an older hotel. Unfortunately our room seemed to have some water damage in the ceiling that appeared moldly.
Comfortable
.
The service was really good. Front desk really helpful. The only problem I had was with the Hotel.com customer care. I was stranded for 4 hours in the morning just because they booked me for a different day. Absolutely furious at Hotels.com.
Great place to stay
The elevator smells terrible. The service desk people were never around. The room was ok as far as bedding but the furniture was torn and tattered and there where holes in the wall stuffed with paper towels.
Old, but cute and clean
First time staying at a Simply Suites version of Sonesta. It is an older hotel but the room was clean and smelled very nice. They don't offer ice therefore, you have to wait patiently for the freezer to make enough cubes for blending margaritas. LOL. Otherwise, just grab a bag of ice from the gas station. The TV was outdated but who really watch TV when during vacation? I'd stay again.
They allow pets, so rooms will have a musty dog smell.
Honestly, I don’t even know how to talk about it. It’s just bad.
Excellent location
Furniture was outdated and worn out, room had a musty smell and felt extremely humid. Linens were in very good condition
Relaxing in ATX
Good hotel for your money. We stayed one night. Besides the dog barking for a bit it was a nice place to stay. Love that it has a full kitchen to cook if needed.
Everything was great except the tub wouldn't drain properly
No breakfast
Old but ok
It’s an older hotel but the rooms are clean. The only thing is the 3rd floor hallway smells of mold; once you get into the room there’s no issue. We did like the fact we had a full kitchen, even for the weekend.
Good value for the price.
Enjoyed my stay and will come again
The property is very well operated.
Staff was nice and the property seemed to be in a quiet area. Felt like the photos misrepresented the place a bit, overall the hotel is old. Lots of small details that were in need. I would not stay here again at the price point that it is set at.
Older hotel. Very clean. Quiet. Everything you need to cook is there.
Room was great, but needs some "TLC" i.e. paint, shower faucet spews more water than shower head. Recliner did not function properly and one main outlet did not work.
Great place
Great little place to stay. Staff friendly as well.
We brought our dog and they were very accommodating. Love the idea of having a full sized refrigerator with an ice maker. Loved it!
The staff was very friendly and willing to help. When arriving at the hotel, the first room offered had a bad odor. Staff moved the reservation to a different room. That room had trouble with the toilet. Third room worked much better. And again, the staff was very accommodating and friendly.
For this to be a Sonesta brand i expected a lot more. It was outdated and dirty and moldy. The restroom had black mold in the restroom and water marks on the ceiling and also holes in the walls. The hallways smelled like dirty dog. And I asked for room service and the housekeeper said they only do it once a week . I then just asked her for towels bc she obviously didn’t wanna clean my room . I wouldn’t book here .
Sonesta Simply having fun.
We had great time staying in Austin at the Sonesta simply suites. Great location with everything you need for a fun time..
I didn’t like the smell from the garbage disposal, the top of the fridge look like it had not been cleaned in awhile, and the toilet overflowed the morning after I stayed. I booked for two nights but only stayed one night. I did not even bother returning because I didn’t sleep well. The furniture is outdated and needs replacement. Other than the issues above it was okay, but I just couldn’t stay another night. I read reviews before booking this place is 2-3 stars or 5/10
Everyone was nice and I felt safe there during my stay
Suite room was well equiped, bed and pillows were very comfortable. Room was clean and updated. Very quiet.
Business trip success
The property is well-maintained, and the room was spacious and clean. The area is very nice and walkable.
Quiet, simple stay. Suite was a little tight, but perfect for one person or a short stay with two. The kitchen was well stocked with any dish you may need with the exception of a mixing bowl. Plenty of towels. Nice room. Elevators were a little sketchy sometimes and had a bad smell sometimes. Coffee area was a just ok: not always stocked well and sometimes messy. Other than that, great stay. Very cozy.
Nice hotel for short and long-term
Very nice hotel for short-term and long-term stay. Great location surrounded by freeways but quiet in the center. Shopping and dining options nearby as well as easy access this private or public transport. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nicely appointed rooms that are kept up quite well.
very outdated hotel
Great value for the money
It was raining when I arrived and I got wet lugging all my stuff inside. There were no luggage carts. My room was fine. The bottle of conditioner was not working. The bed was very comfortable. Ice was convenient. A guide for the TV would be nice. Price was excellent.
Last minute room change
It was an ok stay, Nobody in front when we check in, they wait til last minute and called me and said my room was not available, do i wanna cancel, they gave me a smaller room.
Good place to stay if you're looking for a 2-star decorum. It's what you get for the price you pay. Somewhat smelly and damp rooms. The kitchen was well furnished. The studio room has limited light. False advertising: There is no business center or lobby as shown in the pictures. It's converted into a storage or vending machine. It has laundry and a small gymnasium.
UPON ARRIVAL TO THE ROOM WE FOUND A LARGE LIQUID SPILL ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE TOILET.
Very nice extended stay property. Staff was wonderful. Parking felt safe and secure. Repairs were performed promptly as needed. Comfortable. Would stay again.
The room was spacious and quiet. It was a relaxing vacation staying at this property.
The staff was AMAZING when we checked in.. Priscilla was the best. When checking out the person was ok at best. But.. lets get to the elephant in the room.. how on earth does this property have such great reviews. It is no better then a Motel 6. I was shocked from the moment I pulled up to the property till the moment we opened the room door. I can't believe this places is owned by Sonesta?? It was not worth around $150 a night. Not. At. All. Smelly. Old. Ugh. Just not some place I'd ever want to stay again.
Our room had visible mold on the ceiling in the living area. May be the first hotel I’ve stayed in with no coffee maker and it didn’t have any cutlery or cups in the room. Other than that, the room was fine for a 1 night stay. Thank you to front desk staff for getting us checked in earlier and the complimentary bag of ice.
I took photos of my issues. The room Thurs-Sunday was very expensive and I really expected a well maintained room for the money. Sadly this was not the case. I did take photos but I cannot figure out how to upload them into this survey. Would not stay here again
Perfect location for the 3M half marathon...walk out lobby and boom, right at the start line. Would stay there again for the convenience.
Using key for door was a little strange. And the elevator was sketchy.
This is good hotel in a quiet area and accessible to shops.
Great Place and Price
The stay was great staff was great and very helpful. Everything you need to do or eat is just right around the corner from the Sonesta location. Had an excellent stay and will be doing it again.
The staff is a treasure. All of them go out of their way to be both helpful & professional.
Bait and Switch
Our recent stay at the Sonesta Simply Suites Austin The Domain Area was a significant disappointment. When we arrived, we were informed that there were security issues and none of the room keys were working. For the duration of our stay we had to locate a member of staff to gain access to our room. That said, I was very appreciative of a staff member named Tammy who was very kind in helping us as we needed it - she was the one positive part of our stay here. The elevator we took up to our room stank of urine and continued to do so through the trip. On arriving at our room, it was immediately obvious that the facilities we had use of were much gloomier and more dated than the picture portrayed. We were, based on the pictures, excepting a clean, updated space. What we got was much older appliances, grubby walls, and more run down furniture. Furthermore, on opening the closet to store some of our items we were greeted by mold on the ceiling. As I was writing this, I was thinking of someone saying “You get what you pay for”, but I don’t think that is true. The experience we had would have been more fitting of a $60-75 a night stay, rather than the $110+ we paid, and we have stayed in cheaper hotels that were significantly more pleasant than this. Given these are the standards Sonesta had, I would be very hesitant to stay at one of the properties they operate/own in the future. We actively stayed out to avoid returning to the hotel room.
They made sure to give us a positive experience and we really appreciated that. We will stay here again! Thank you to the wonderful staff!
We suspect that someone from the front desk used my credit card to make a purchase at eBay on July 6 2023 That’s the day I checked out and didn’t use the card in any other transaction. You should have my contact number. I would like to hear from someone about this issue. Thank you Jose Rossy
I can do better
Everyone’s perspective is different and so are there expectations. My expectations were not met except for the essential; shelter, parking, beds. Ceiling had leak marks, furniture was beaten up a bit, and there was uncomfortable police activity next to my room with caution tape in hand—no crime scene truck however—still uncomfortable.

Great hotel and price. Quiet. Close to shopping etc.
Everything looked fine when we arrived for check-in. My husband and I returned from dinner and there were bugs and roaches everywhere! It was the most disgusting thing we have ever encountered in all of our world travels. The front desk staff was also disgusted when we showed her the pictures of all the bugs. She stated she would write a note for management to refund our payment. However it is 3 days later and no one has contacted us.
Good check in
New customer review
This is our first experience using Hotels.com. Securing an hotel was easy and secure. Our hotel stay was at Simply Suites. The hotel was very comfortable, clean, and the staff members were very friendly. We will be return customers the next time we are in North Austin TX. Thank you Hotels.com
The staff was very attentive. Had popcorn and coffee available too. Have free washers and dryers we were able to use
El cuarto perfecto, grande con todas las comodidades. El parking muy oscuro La limpieza solo es una vez a la semana
Great stay
After check in everything was good no problems
Pleasant experience
It was a pleasant experience. Highly recommend for extended stays. Great amenities.
it stinks literally its giving motel 6 do not stay here only one elevator for whole building and stairs look like a murder scene no breakfast or dining
Good enough ,
The hotel room was fine once they changed my room but the entrance and stairs were dirty . Enjoyed my stay once i got settled in to a different room- very clean rooms . But was charged an incidental fee T check in that has still not been refunded a day later !
Nice rooms Good price
I have stayed at this hotel before. Nice spacious rooms, spacious restrooms. Large TV… All in all, Good service!
avg at best
ok decent hotel, but they gave me adjuring room I could here the other guy all night he literally watch tv at the highest volume level from 12-10am when I left he was still watching tv. Walls were paper thin. Went down to the first desk to complain no one was there at the front desk. I did see a security guard laying on the couch in the lobby..Get what you pay for I guess. oh the the ac unit will only let you go below 70 smh
The only one thing the conditioner dispenser didn’t work
Awful cigar smell
Room had pungent strange smell. Couldn’t place it at first. Made me wheeze. The smoke detector had a plastic bag over it. Realized is was cigar smoke covered up by a strong air freshener. I had to air it out for a while temp in the 30’s). Staff was exceptional. But no rooms for me to move to.
Always nice and quiet
This is a great place to stay. It always is and I’ll be back.
The room was perfect for our needs with the kitchen area and separate bedroom.
Staff was nice & accommodating, however, hotel was not very clean
Wouldn't stay again
Very dirty hotel. Felt a little rundown. Had odor all around hotel. Stains on carpets. Wasn't happy with my stay.
Upon check-in, our room keys didn’t work so I went down to front desk to request new keys. They reissued them. Didn’t work. Then they changed our room and those didn’t work. Finally moved us to room on a different floor which worked. We were late to an engagement because of the time it took. The room furnishings were worn. The gym and lobby bathroom were out of order, as well. We wouldn’t book here again.
On the positive side: the beds were very comfortable and the staff were friendly. On the negative side: Workout area was closed; had to go to the front desk to get a cup of ice. Was told to turn on the ice maker in the refrigerator. Went to dinner for a couple of hours and still no ice in the freezer.
Older, but clean and comfy.
Obviously an older hotel, but the room was nice and clean. AC worked great and bed was comfy. Front desk clerk was never there and housekeeping came banging on my door at 9am even though I was checking out that day.
Great
Really comfortable Very quiet Easy to sleep
cant count on both my hands the amount of cockroaches that were found in my room
We stayed for the night. I didn’t have any problems while we stayed. It was pretty comfortable for the most part. We didn’t get to take advantage of any amenities on the property but everything looked fine.
good value
One chair in the room had obvious upholstery damage. Because the room is large, the TV screen seemed small. I liked the kitchen, well-equipped. I would stay at a Sonesta again.
Friendly staff... Everything you need right there and working. Clean
The property was like other extended stay locations and I was happy for that. What I didn't like was there grocery store was out of some most needed supplies.
I have been staying at sonesta in other countries and I enjoy this brand hotel but this hotel
Not to the standard described. Won’t stay there again.
Great trip in Austin Texas
Whether was great and the hotel was wonderful. We had a great time with family and friends.
Lacking several things
There was no hand soap for the bathroom sink, there was no sprinkler in the room, and the bathtub had hair in it. At least the bed was comfortable.
Quite a few homeless people around property and parking area. I went to a restaurant nearby, and the hostess was literally wearing a bullet proof vest. I didn’t feel very safe leaving my room after dark. The room at this hotel was fairly clean but there were some markings on the shower curtain that seemed like mold. The bed was very comfortable though.
An older hotel that has been updated. Lobby is incredibly small and warm. Room had some updates and was clean. First impression, okay. The chair in the room had a lot of the upholstery scratched and scuffed. You have a pack of alcohol wipes to wipe down surfaces, which I did. Slept well, clean sheets. Convenient location for us.
Great location for me, nice cute little room.
Staff was nice! Room stunk of smoke and an obvious “fog bomb” can sitting on a table trying to cover it up. Wear and tear from animals. Only other nice things was spacious. But ripped couch and chairs and burn on table…. Cheap price and chap experience… bummer. Thought I found a deal
Great
