Property is undergoing upgrading. Will likely be an excellent stay after upgrades.
The only thing is there is a very late night bar across the street that was extremely loud until about 4 AM. If you’re sensitive to noise, make sure you ask for one of the back rooms. It might be better?
Great stay
2nd stay at this location. Beds are very comfortable and air conditioning worked great. Loved the breakfast.
Everything was perfect ! Till the moment the keys weren’t working and had to go twice to frond desk for the same issue
Nice
They have a parking permit required to be on your dash No Tape to secure the permit (1/4 piece of paper), property takes down your car make, model and license plate to verify Hauled car away, lost 4-5 hours and property management said our fault and to pay the tow company $250 Took over an hour to get a manager to call, and manager said our fault the permit was not seen by Tow company, so pay the tow Informed management, we are your customer and you are a franchise with what could be fraud Management acquiescing called the tow company and verified the auto make, model and license plate were registered at the hotel Parking permit was in the defrost vent…but day lost and stress…so stupid and preventable with larger parking permits, hanging ones for mirrors or a piece of scotch tape
Excellent affordable site with everything you need.
Location was good. The property needs to be renovated
Good Stay
This is a very nice hotel and good for extended stay. Located across the street from two very nice bar and grill establishments. I was puzzled as to why the two televisions in the breakfast area were out of service. I asked the front desk and she knew about it. She didn't know for how long. I asked if the manager knew, she said yes. Hopefully the manager will address this as soon as possible.
The room was clean and the staff were great. Free breakfast was a plus! The only downside was the ongoing construction. The hallway carpet being completely removed was quite alarming. Other than that, it was a great stay. Look forward to the remodel.
No hot water on a cold morning.
It was a great stay! Staff was very welcoming and helpful. The parking was extremely easy. The suite was spacious. Housekeeping came everyday to clean the suite and give us fresh towels.
Bugs in the room
Very outdated and felt run down and cheap.
good location for shoping
Nice rooms.
Mediocre
Check in was easy. Rooms ok. Toilet sits very low. Not much water pressure and its not hot. Breakfast was good and a good variety of choices. Milk needs to be kept on ice as it was room temp and was sour. Not great but not awful.
everything was very good, them are remodeling all the common areas, parking so good breakfast so good staff so good I want to thank to Marisol, Ray and Tom for doing very good them job, Ill back as soon as I go to houston again. thanks!
I would choose to stay here again if I return to Houston.
Stellar Stay at the Sonesta! Thank You for making my trip Completely Comfortable!
Pre cruise city break
Stayed here before a cruise & location was excellent! Great service from the staff. Nice room with the most comfortable bed we’ve ever had!! Huge car park & good breakfast included! What more could you want??
The property didn’t have any hot water
Convenient hotel choice near Galleria. Hotel was experiencing a hot water outage when I arrived.
The property is disgusting
No hot water
Property is in maintenance mode. The Hall ways are being painted. My outlet in the bathroom did not work. Needed for blow drying. the room was very clean and comfortable. Well stocked.
There was no hot water at the hotel for the shower. The hotel didn’t even offer an apology.
No hot water, no A/C, We had to be moved rooms.
This was a terrible experience. The hallways on every floor were patched up and there was a huge smell of marijuana on the third floor. I got transferred to the first floor and my room had mold in the corners by the bathroom. There was no hot water for three days also. This was very uncomfortable and unpleasant to say the least. I do not recommend this property by any means.
They didn’t have hot water and it’s in the middle of January, we ended up having to stay at another hotel down the road. It wasn’t the employee working the desks fault, I felt bad for him. He was extremely apologetic and gave us our money back. It looked they were in the middle of updating also, so it might be ok in a month or so. But it wasn’t great for us unfortunately.
Worst Stay Ever! I am extremely disappointed with my recent stay at the Sonesta Hotel in Houston .From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this hotel was not up to standard. First of all, there was no hot water throughout our entire stay. This was incredibly frustrating as we were unable to take a single shower. We immediately complained to the staff, but they were completely indifferent and did nothing to resolve the issue. The staff was not only unhelpful, but also disrespectful and unresponsive when we tried to discuss the matter. To make matters worse, the room had a terrible smell, which we traced back to the kitchen sink. It smelled like sewage and made the living room unbearable to stay in. It was extremely unpleasant, especially after a long day of travel. Additionally, the bathtub in the bathroom was outdated and unpolished. It looked like it hadn’t been properly maintained in years. The furniture in the room, including the couches, was also a huge disappointment. Both the room and the lobby had old, uncomfortable furniture with broken springs, making it nearly impossible to relax during our stay. This hotel clearly does not value its guests or take any responsibility for providing a clean, comfortable stay. I will not be returning and highly recommend that others avoid this place. It was a nightmare from start to finish.
N /A
Very nice suite! Very clean and comfortable. Best of all, handicapped accessable bathroom!
Bad experience
The hotel was going through a renovation but no one told us before booking. The overall feeling was that it was dirty, smelled bad, and you could hear the neighbors as if they were in your room.
There was no hot water during our 3 night stay
The pictures online were definitely taken when the place was brand new.
Good location, near Galleria/uptown: Free parking!
In very bad shape, dirty. Lack of maintenance. Hotel staff mentioned that it is in this condition since long time ago
woderful place
Could use some work - place is not kept up well.
Wifi is too bad and refrigerator is old with noise
For the price was a great stay!
I’d like the convenience of parking to the proximity of the room. I did not like the smell of stale cigarettes.
Great
Thank you for the great service!!!
The staff was friendly and accommodating
Amazing beds very comfortable only thing was my room limited to one roll of toilet paper and had to ask for more and was under construction in the hall ways but besides that so comfortable so worth it
Galleria accessible
Location is very convenient. Room was a bit above average but it is worn around the edges but was very comfortable. The hotel must be going through some renovations as the hallways were all plastered or missing paint. Hope that is the case. But overall, if the location by the Galleria is a must this hotel was very suitable.
Lackluster
Was expecting a more upscale experience from the property photos. The rooms were dated, though the bed was quite comfy. General public area needs much improvement. Heavy patch work in the hallways. I saw no evidence of ongoing paint work or even smelled paint. Hot water for showering was inconsistent. Housekeeping staff was excellent! Unfortunately, I am "one n done" with this place.
Two min walk to the mall CVS tj maxx ulta beauty...very convient for lyfts...The door you could see through the cracks... front desk staff sooooooooo amazing
Rooms are comfortable and location was great. Front desk customer services was absolute terrible
Very run down property but the cost was good
Excellent value for money
Amazing. Very good value for money. Clean, quiet, next to restaurants and the Galleria shopping mall
Buen desayuno y la habitación comoda
Place was cool, seems like they are working on the place. But the staff is nice
Cheap hotel stay for good reason
Hotel was appealing in lobby and that’s room was decent. Hotel was obviously under going some renovations and in the week we were there, no progress was made. Room itself was nice enough, but after the room hadn’t been cleaned, we contacted the front desk and they claimed we had the “do not disturb” sign on our but, which we did not.
The place is undergoing a remodel. Walls in hallway have lots of spackle and I’m sure they’re about to get painted. Otherwise, very nice. Clean, Ample rooms with kitchenette.
It was cool
For the holidays, the resort should have been ready. Hallway walls still with plaster and chipped paint on them did not give it such a welcoming feeling
Close to galleria and it's clean. 2nd shift employee needs a happier face. It seems that it's hard for him to smile or he's been working mostly graveyard. Regardless, he needs to be reminded that he's one of the customers' first impression. Sonesta needs happy faces all the time. Thank you.
The hotel & room was very clean, nice staff!
Great location, looks like had lots of water damage on the ceiling, the carpet at the hall way on the 2md floor was so dirty, was a bad smell all the time at the hall way as well. Took so long to get hot water at the shower is a shame to waste so much water
I would recommend
Overnight saty for buisness meeting only
Not for me
The hotel is in horrible condition. There are paint spots all over the walls. It just didn’t look appealing at all. My air conditioner in the room didn’t work. Thank goodness is was a pleasant weather day in Houston, so it wasn’t unbearable. The room was clean as for as the basic, but there was left over hair from previous guests. That is a BIG ick for me. I thought that this hotel would be like the Sonesta hotel right off of the 610 loop, but NOPE! The staff were nice but that is the most good I can say about my stay. I won’t go back.
Room was fine. They DO need to paint the hallways.
I requested a two night stay and only one night was recorded. The desk guy said I'd have to do it again online for another stay. The hotel looks like its under construction , so i'll probably go elsewhere
I stayed in a king suite room and it was great for the price compared to other nearby hotels. The room was big and roomy and clean. The staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The building itself could use a nicer appearance, the walls in the hall to get to rooms look run down and under construction. The elevator also looks old. At the end of the day this doesn’t matter as much as staff and room but it’s a thought we had.
NO WAY STAY!
The hotel has not been kept up. Lots of repairs needed. It looks as if they have done NO maintenance in the last 5 years. All the Funiture is old and falling apart. Very Bad..
Great location. Our room was good except for the couch/hide a bed was very well used, needs replacing.
Ok. Friendly staff
I love the location and the rooms are very large, clean and comfortable. Mine even had a kitchen. I found the staff extremely nice, and easy to work with.
Terrible hotel with old, worn our rooms in desperate need of an upgrade. Front desk staff were great, the only positive thing about this place.
The 3rd floor smelled like dog piss. I had to change my room to another floor.
excellent location rooms are nuce common areas under construction
Rooms old and terrible. Paint chipped, moldy, renovating
The hotel appears to be under some kind of renovation, but never saw anyone working during our 4 night stay. Very old carpet in need of replacement, extremely loud old ac units and every second day Trash dumpster pickup was so loud at 5 am that reminded me bombarding from my Iraq war service tours... One day we had a lady sleeping on the corridor outside our room which we reported to reception. Personnel was very nice and the highlight of the stay, therfore the rating of more than 1 star.
Every staff member was nice and friendly, Hotel is clean and well maintained. There are restaurants across the street and you can walk to the galleria mall.
It is in a very good location. The staff is very nice. The halls are being painted. But the rooms are ok.
Its an older hotel, with the expected work in progress in areas. However, rooms are clean, spacious and functional. Front desk was helpful and friendly. I was able to request both an early checkin and late checkout. Breakfast was basic. Great location for proximity to Galleria. Would recommend.
very run down property. Hallway smelled of smoke. Roach motel feel.
The price was great for the location
The suite was lovely! There was a mall nearby so you could find some food but since Houston isn’t walkable in general, not much else. Breakfast was fabulous, salsa eggs and breakfast sandwiches were great!
It was under renovation and shower room was not good.,,
they were remodeling, so the asthetics were not impressive, but it was in a safe clean area, and I know it will look amazing when complete.
Always a great stay
They are still fixing the outside from storms but other that great room
Would go again
This IS NOT a 4 Star Hotel An Extended Stay Sheetrock mud on the walls Dirty Elevator!
Awesome
I loved the room. I wanna live there.
This property on the outside & 1st floor was nice. The inside looks like it was still getting renovated still on the 2nd floor where my room was. But the room was fine and the service was fine Would stay again
It is an older hotel and we stayed in a suite that was not bad. The AC works excellent. It will freeze you out at night. The couch beds need to be replaced. Very outdated and not comfortable at all. Showers worked great with Hot water! Breakfast was ok honestly.
The place is run down and getting shabby. It appears to be in suspended renovation, with wet paint signs but no activity in it he week I was there. Carpet worn.
So first and foremost there was a hole in our ceiling and the smell inside and outside reeked of weed but we’re in Houston what can you expect lol. The staff was ok and the hotel in general was nice the room was clean the stove and fridge was great and the bed was extremely comfortable.
The worst hotel I’ve ever styed in. Pictures are super misleading. The place looks like a crappy motel that ran out of budget in the middle of a renovation.
Great location, very practical. Outside area very dirty, with guests throwing cigarette buds and BBQ wrappers on the ground. Toilet in room was leaking and after repair even worse. Corridors need TLC.
Warm Homely Stay
Amazing stay ! Wifi connection was poor 1st day , Sonesta team took care snd shifted to me another room Breakfast — please extend timing at least till 1030am . Will be very helpful for international travellers at least to get accustomed to timings My request for extension for additional 2hrs was declined , your team could have provided alternate solution if rooms were overbooked given that was a genuine & honest request
Stay away!
Their pictures are deceiving. Stains on carpet, mold in bathroom, worn out furnishings, and hallway all patched up.
The hotel staff are most helpful and courteous. The hotel itself seems to be undergoing renovations. The room we stayed in had everything we needed.
