Perfect location if you're attending an event at The Royal Albert Hall.

Beautiful area and a really lovely room/interior

Good central location

A small cheap hotel located close to what we needed but you get what you pay for. A tiny room, a lift that does not inspire confidence and little support from the few staff that are around.

I am from the US so I based my decision to stay here on the pictures and description of the hotel and room, which are described exactly as is in person. My room was so cute and cozy! It was warm with a nice heater and an option to crack open my window, put the ceiling fan on and enjoy the nice chill of London weather! The staff were super friendly and offered help learning the Underground travel system. I strongly recommend a stay at Sonder!

Would stay again

Very pleasant stay, a great location, handy for tube stations and many great places to eat and drink. Walkable if you enjoy romping about London! Right on the door step and the park which is also pretty! Rom had adequate space and facilities for a short stay,

Kensington comfort

unable to check in via the app. Received instant reply to email from customer services. Was able to checkin on site easily. Large lockers are available so bags can be dropped before checkin. The room was warm, cosy and plenty of room (we were in a basement with good natural light).most of all we felt safe. Good choice of bars and restaurants within a 2 minute walk. Perfect location for Albert hall and Kensington gardens. Tucked away off the main road in a desirable residential area.

The hotel is in a quiet area about 15 min walk from the tube. The room was clean and comfortable. I stayed in a single room and it was perfect for my needs. Staff were helpful when I needed their help. Breakfast had a nice choice of friut, breads & pastries, meat & cheese. I would stay again.

The hotel in a great location very clean and the staff pleasant helpful. Good breakfast. However the booked room turned out to be very different from the website presentation. Ending up with a blanked out window next to a commercial bin store. Being on a tight schedule on arrival giving no time to seek a change of room. helpful .

Stayed here for 4 nights. Quiet & safe hotel. Close to Kensington gardens. Close to bus stops. Breakfast is good, has nespresso machine which I love, also has one in the room. The only thing is the bathroom fan does not work. Otherwise, we had a great stay.

The location is amazing, an easy walk to so many iconic London sites. The hands off approach, with service available as needed, really works well for me. And the complimentary continental breakfast and all day pastries and premium coffee was a real treat. The rooms are not large, but they’re comfortable and have everything you need. And did I mention location?

The location of this hotel is perfect. It is about 5-10 min walk from Kensington palace, very close to the beautiful park. I arrived around 9pm, check in was seamless and the girl at the reception was very sweet and helpful. I liked that you’re able to use your phone as a key to get inside hotel and your room. There is a pharmacy, small grocery store near-by open till 1am and some late night food and necessity purchases. My room was TINY. Probably the smallest I’ve ever stayed in. But size was okay for one person on a budget. I took off one star because I booked a room with a desk and it was not there when I arrived. As per hotel staff - someone broke it the day before I checked in. There was no space to put my things except a tiny bedside table. They provide good quality shower items. Breakfast was great- they had bakery items, cheese, cold cuts, veggies, coffee & tea. Overall, I would stay here again if traveling alone. The area and hotel were very safe.

If you need to check in in the morning they will not accommodate. I let staff know weeks ahead of time, I let Expedia know weeks ahead of time, I was told check-in time can only be changed the day before and by then the room was no longer available. The promised breakfast is a community charcuterie board and pastries. Cleaning your room is extra charge. You will be told to take out the trash and dirty towels and leave them outside the door, where they will sit all day. The safe didn’t work. The shower is so small the water will spray all over the bathroom. No USB outlets. What century are we in?

Great place to stay right in London. We had so much to do in walking distance and public transportation is all with in minutes of a quick walk. We loved how quiet the room was and how nice and clean it was. We would stay here again!

The rooms and bathrooms were a bit dated and musty. The shower was so small that it was a challenge to shower without getting water everywhere. Everything else was great.

Room 106 is beautiful. Large and airy and on the ground floor. We were initially in 206 but there was a problem with the TV so we were moved on day 2. Room 206 is quite small and stuffy. Breakfast is fabulous. Continental and included in the price. Staff were friendly and helpful. Five minutes walk from High St Kensington tube, ten minutes walk to the Royal Albert Hall. Shopping and restaurants plentiful. All in all, a very good stay.

Very small room, which wasn't that clean (eg someones used towel had been left in our bathroom). Good location and okay breakfast. Poor value for the money we paid.

Great location

Comfy and cozy

While the room was bijou, it was comfortable. The breakfast spread was ample and delicious. The only drawback was the lack of adequate lighting. ‘Quiet hours’ from 10 pm to 8 am are conducive to relaxing in peace.

Sonder is a beautiful place to stay. The staff is so pleasant and helpful. In particular Roger was wonderful to talk with about places to visit while in town. Breakfast was fantastic. Highly recommend!

An enjoyable stay. The reception staff were really helpful and rooms had everything we needed. Nice area, with Kensington park on your doorstep. We would certainly look to stay here again. Great value for money in London.

This wasn't quite what we expected, but we enjoyed our stay. The room and bathroom were quite small, but met our needs. The breakfast was adequate, with plenty of pastries, yogurt, brie/meats but no hot food options. There was usually a staff member around, but not set up like a hotel with a front desk for service. Location is lovely, with Kensington Gardens right across the street.

Great experience at this hotel! Rooms are clean, staff is very helpful, and it’s located in a great area of London. Rooms are small, but that was perfectly fine since I didn’t spend a lot of time in the room.

4pm Check in with a £16/hr charge for earlier checkin. No fridge or access to ice and the bathroom needs attention. That aside it’s in a great location and the breakfast is nice as well

Excellent location, very close to Kensington High Street. Spacious room, very comfortable. Good breakfast, and surprisingly quiet given how close to Kensington it is.

Close to park Room too small and no day room service Staff very good

First stay we had a really good room. Second stay we had a small cramped room in the attic. Not so good. Nice breakfast.

I stayed there 9 nights Great staff. But the property is really terrible. Small rooms, shower is so so bad barely any water coming out. Sink is blocked the whole time very slow water draining. No AC I was boiling. Noisy that every single minute someone take the lift and lift operation make massive noise in my room I was on 4th floor, rooms are so so tinny that you scared that fan on the ceiling will slice your head but you can’t afford to not to put the fan on because is really really hot even it’s end of September, only good thing was that place is every single staff member was great so so friendly energetic and smile and happy. Also the coffee machine was really good. Money not worth at all. There are so many hotels in that area that you can get half the money you pay.

Great stay at Sonder Kensington Gardens! Our room was on the smaller side, and was a basement unit, but for the price was a great value. The property itself is in an ideal location, right next to High Street Kensington and Kensington Gardens, so very walkable to stores, restaurants, and the High Street tube station. The hotel felt safe and well maintained, with friendly staff available when we needed them. Complimentary breakfast was excellent with great options, including delicious pastries and fresh squeezed orange juice!!

AVOID during summer

Not air conditioned. Had a unit on the top floor (4th) that was a heat trap and unliveable frankly. Small window just opened a crack (about 1 inch) and the two fans just served to recirculate the stale hot air. AVOID during summer. Room was small but clean. Bathroom was fine except shower didn't drain properly. Overall very disappointing experience. Spent my time debating whether to cut my losses and find another place to stay. Have paid the same for much nicer, comfortable stays in central London and will not be making this mistake again.

A Great Base in London

Perfect location near Hyde Park. The staff and breakfast each morning were wonderful! The room was clean and comfortable.

Felt very at ease as a single woman in my 70s. Staff so friendly &helpful . The location is great as Plenty within walking distance or public transport.I also liked that there was no fuss, everything well thought out, including breakfast.I would certainly stay there again

Quite a nice room but could have done with a bed-side reading lamp. Staff very friendly. On-line check-in was very poor. Took over an hour, with two phone-calls and still I couldn't complete it.

Good for a short break

The hotel was clean and well maintained. The bed was comfy and for London not too noisy. However you were supplied with a white noise machine and ear plugs just in case. The coffee cups were tiny. There was only a bin in the bathroom and no mirror above the dressing table. There is also no iron supplied here. On a plus note the hotel is very reasonably priced and the essentials cupboards ensure you don’t run out of toiletries or tea/coffee supplies

Over sell of room. 12 square single bed with attic roof inclines meant laced head room. Window had limited opening no air flow despite fan. Very very uncomfortable.

No for the summer. There is no aircon. These old terraces are horrible in the summer - especially on the top floors and when the window doesn’t open. Fans just push hot hair and so much dust around. I left early because it was unbearable. The shower clogs so you’re standing in dirty shower water…no air at all…and the bed frame was so pointed I got 2 bruises on my leg. Horrible.

Not a hotel and an extremely expensive air B & B

Upon arrival we were totally underwhelmed, we were met by an access pad and a man greeted us from a room to the side. The check in procedure wasn't a procedure but a try as we go on line guess by the man and although he was very nice, he clearly didnt know what he was doing. We were given a 6numbered code followed by the # key to gain access to the room and to the accommodation. The room was very sparse, no mirror in the room atall the mirror in the bathroom wasnt lit very well and to dry your hair you had to stand and try and see the mirror. There was a charge to clean £25 if you stayed more than one night so no room service. this accomodation was over £200 per night and for the fact I used vouchers for half the value I would have left after one night. I felt we were miss sold this room and clearly the owners are not interested in the experience. In the evening you had to use the code on the keypad but there was no light and the display did not cater for those needing reading glasses! There was no card or anything to remember the number and i used my phone which the battery died before we got back! There was no fridge and you had to go in search of replacement tea and coffee etc. overall i would definitely NOT stay here again. location ok for kensington but and the albert hall but at the price charged it felt way below expectations and Hotels.com should re evaluate its description and marketing of this AIR B & B

Sleep in a clean, close knit mansion in great loc

Work trip solo. Offered the key amenities and someone always available for little things. Neighborhood was great.

Great location, beautiful hotel and great staffs. I will the hotel is air conditioning equipped!

The 4th floor room was suffocating and hot with only a tiny ceiling fan. I would NOT recommend. If I hadn’t have been so busy I would have left this hotel and asked for a refund.
