Simply simple only meant for a night.
Just a nice, clean, very convenient property. Some rooms come with a balcony, some do not. The rooms were clean and comfortable albeit with a few ants in the bathroom. However, you're in a hotel in a village on the side of the mountains so a few ants shouldn't bother you. The breakfast (included) was tasty and fruits/veggies were fresh and tasty. My only negative comment would be the runny scrambled eggs (but that's a personal thing! :-) ) If you're looking for luxury hotel, this is not it; however, as mentioned, it is very clean, comfortable, and conveniently located. Power: Good, outlets will take American plugs. Internet: Good Staff: Friendly Cost: Reasonable Common Areas: Very comfortable/nice. Eggs: Not so good
The clerk at the front desk was really helpful in allowing us to hold our luggage so we wouldn't miss one of the local attractions.
Location great. Staff very friendly.
3/5 stars stay
A motel for night travelers for people heading into Machu Picchu. The motel is located next to a Sol (Sun) temple. The front desk gentleman was very courteous and helpful. The room was very small and the room and bathroom were outdated. There were limited breakfast options in the dining area.
Great location for access to Inka ruins. Less noise because its off the square , but easy walking to all stores and restaurants. Facility is in good repair and has attractive public spaces and comfortable room. But the lack of reliable wifi and an uncaring, almost oblivious staff, makes it easy to not recommend.
Good location, 10 minute walk fron Ollantaytambo Train Station.
They have charging extra 30 usd because my son age (15 year old). However, in the police says childrens are allowed under 18 years old, so that was really uncomfortable during my arrive.
We enjoyed this hotel right on the Inca trail
Great hotel, easy to walk around, lots of food options, walking distance from city plaza
Beautiful place in the center of town. Staff was very helpful
Great local hotel, staff was very attentive and walking distance to restaurants and shopping!
Near commercial area
2 star
Booked this spot because of our expected long day at Machu Picchu. This rrally is a 2 star hotel, not 3. Please be aware that photos are marvelous on the website but do not reflect the experience.
I recently stayed at your property and while there were several positive aspects, there are a few areas that need improvement. Firstly, the staff could benefit from additional training to enhance their hospitality skills. Some personnel appeared inexperienced and at times, their demeanor was less than welcoming. Secondly, the breakfast options were not up to the standard expected for a restaurant of this caliber. A broader selection and higher quality offerings would greatly enhance the guest experience. The location of the property is excellent, being adjacent to the historical ruins. However, the ongoing construction caused a significant amount of dust, which detracted from the overall ambiance. Additionally, we booked a river view room, but found that the view was only accessible from higher floors. This was disappointing as it did not meet our expectations based on the booking description. On a positive note, the room itself was clean and well-kept, though the facilities seemed a bit dated. Addressing these issues would greatly improve the guest experience. Thank you for considering this feedback.
Amazing location
Great Location. Friendly staff that answers all your questions. The hotels is located next to the river. It’s close to Ollantaytambo ruins and market. It’s down the street from the train station.
The location was great.
We loved the balcony over the rushing stream below our room (204)
The location to the town was perfect. No transportation needed since everything is in walking distance. I suggest a room with a view, you won’t be disappointed. My only complaint there is no wash cloth for your body, and you need two hand towels not one.
Location was great. It was overpriced for the area.
A bit pricey for a basic hotel
Great location and lovely public areas. Sadly the room had no real view and our bathroom wash basin leaked onto the bathroom floor. Service could have been a bit more friendly and proactive. It was difficult to get in and out of the hotel as the main door was often locked and nobody on reception.
The beautiful view of the ruins right outside the balcony and the river rushing below as well as the walkability and proximity of everything. Great location, quiet hotel. Perfect stay!
Easy Check-in and pretty room. Airport pickup was easy and staff is very friendly. Im not sure why I had to go to the front for water only to be told the first bottle is free-it shouldve just been in the room.. The room also needs a trash can.
Excellent property and staff. I had severe altitude sickness and the front desk staff found a nurse that gave me immediate help in that difficult situation. Lots of food and shops right here with beautiful riverside rooms.
Highly recommended!
Great place in an excellent location in Ollantaytambo. Lovely environment, nice, clean rooms. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend this hotel whether you are visiting Macchu Picchu, or just visiting the town.
the staff was very helpfu\. Place was so nice.
This is a very quaint hotel in the heart of the small town of ollantaytambo. Check in was good. Room is adequate and the bathroom is great. Great shower and water pressure. We had a great view. It has lots of sitting areas that are quaint and comfortable. We were told breakfast was until 9:00am. We thought we would skip it since we hiked a lot the day before. At 9:05 we were called letting us know that they were waiting for us to serve us breakfast. It was a full service as if we were at a restaurant Made our eggs and coffee to order. There was fruit salad, breads, cheese and cild cuts I was very impressed with this. This small detail made my whole stay better. Peruvian people are so friendly and hard working. I would absolutely recommend.
I came at this hotel and there was no electricity. The image on Expedia of the hotel were misleading. It is a photoshop of the river at couple hundred meters with the restaurant in front of the hotel. The hotel itself is not nice at all. When I came, there was no electricity, they were running on the battery which later stop working. There is no desk in the room, even if they seem to clean, this is so old and ugly that the rooms seems dirty. Do not expect more than a cheap motel for the price of an hotel. The breakfast they gave us was pretty bad. Internet is super slow. Towels are very old. They should invest in this place. I do understand we are in Ollantaytambo, Peru, but still, when they charge almost the price of an hotel in US, you expect something much more.
The location was great. The hotel would not open or serve anything before 7am, which was a miss when you wake up early to reach Machu Picchu. No bar or restaurant, no water in the room. Some services could definitely be improved, but overall it was a great pick.
Highly recommend this hotel Carlos who I believe is the manager is so welcoming and nice. Really makes you feel at home. Breakfast was great, the room was nice and spacious and it’s in a great location. Everything you need is within walking distance. Honestly this was my favorite hotel through my whole Peru vacation and we stayed in 6 different places. I would definitely come and recommend to all my friends and family the service alone makes it a 5 star for me nothing beats that welcoming feeling. Thank you Carlos and the boys I can’t remember their name you are all amazing.
Fair value Toilet tank was not working properly and required temporary fixing.
Excellent location in this small village, very clean in USA standard also, great place to stay in ollantaytambo.
Highly Recommended
Had an amazing stay at the Sol Ollantay. Beautiful large room overlooking the river, and Derek the manager was always helpful and friendly - from recommending local restaurants to arranging a car to drive us around, he was always around to take care of anything we needed. Can't recommend staying here highly enough.
The worst experience I ever had. Service was bad. Only one perdón running the entire property. Derek answer the phone, cooks, he does housekeeping. The don't have parking on premises. I ran out of water in the middle of the shower. He tried to gent into the room to check what was happening. Bad bad bad.
The best feature of this property was Derrick and the staff. They were always accomodating and pleasant.
The hotel i booked was closed with a sign directing us to Sol Natural. The second hotel was padalocked shut and no one answered the bell. The phone number on the website was disconnected. Went to neighboring hotel and after 15 minutes of trying the they got someone to come open the gate. We were the only guests the 2 nights we stayed. Beautiful hotel but no one around to service it. The pandemic definitely hurt this town.
Lovely property in a great area of Ollanta! Great proximity to shops, restaurants, cafes and ruins. We had a view of the famous ruins straight from our bedroom window, it was heavenly. My only suggestion is don't book drivers/excursions from the hotel reception - it was very overpriced and the driver didn't even know where he was going so we were lost most of the time.
Wonderful, helpful staff, beautiful site of ruin from our bedroom window! A true blessing to have room 201! Be sure to ask for it!
Unfortunately, when we arrived, this hotel was closed for construction. We were redirected to a sister hotel close by. It was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. Wifi was mediocre and there is no room safe. Both items are important. That is why I dropped one star
Dommage!
The hotel as shown in the webpage dos not exist!!! Is under construction. It is just unbelievable that Expedia shows something that is not built!!! The alternative hotel, that we discovered by ourselves that is in a different location with another name is just terrible. Our reservations were just partially available and half of the rooms we got are just stinky, no tv, in a contiguous building by the parking lot, and beds very used. Not even a 1 star rooms. It really was a total scam!!!
Voltaria a me hospedar.

Excellent location. Within walking distance to train station.
