Only issue was on our four night stay we only had hot water one night despite messing around with the hot water tap countless times

Great location

Fantastic location on Ipanema beach. Excellent restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Nice rooftop bar with a (small) pool. Good sized rooms which are comfortable and well maintained. Highly recommended.

I think this property is amazing. They are friendly, clean, high quality etc. that being said I didn’t like that the prices for the products supplied. For example: a very small bottle of wine was way too expensive. That’s my only complaint. I get it but if the price or quantity is better, I’d say this property is a A

2/27 - 3/5 Carnival magic at its best! Perfectly located behind the lively gay beach, we were surrounded by fantastic restaurants and shops. The morning-after breakfast buffet was simply divine! Our room was a quiet haven, and the staff kept it spotless. Can't wait to return—10/10 recommend!

Located in the best location of the best beach area in Rio. Breakfast very good . Beautiful breakfast room overlooking ocean. Pool and lounge area on 15th floor offers a luxurious view! Rooms are good size and well laid out . Bed is king size and very comfortable . Very clean and stylish hotel. Attentive staff. A true 4 star hotel.

The location is perfect. The staff was helpful and friendly. We loved the roof deck!

Wonderful.

Had a great stay for 1 night. We enjoyed free chairs and umbrellas on the beach and had an amaxing sea view from our room.We loved the roof top bar and were able to use the room until 2pm at no extra cost Would definitely recommend this hotel. The staff were very helpful.

Prime location!

Great location right across from the beach and in proximity to the shops and restaurants of Ipanema. Close enough to walk to Leblon as well. Hotel guests get umbrellas and chairs at the beach included with your stay. Breakfast is included. The restaurant is fantastic for dinner also. Friendly hotel staff that speak English well. Room is not the most updated but who travels to stay in their room?

Loved the property.

This hotel is right in the heart of Ipanema beach, best location! The food was average, the staff were very friendly, there are several excellent restaurants to choose from within walking distance, meaning 5 minutes walk, ZaZa restaurant was crazy good, there is not an “official” parking for the hotel but they do valet parking however they will not be responsable for the car since they park the car in the streets for you, which to us it was not a big deal, the roof pool was very small but with a great view

Great Stay at Ipanema Beach!

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. We had a beautiful view out our window of Ipanema Beach. The beach service itself with umbrellas and chairs was a great convenience. We would stay here again.

The shower had a wonderful water pressure. Great service at the front desk and restaurant. Great breakfast and food. Pool was too small and bar had small seating area.

I liked that the property was directly across from the beach. The staff were completely friendly and patient. I would stay at the same spot again.

The closeness to ipanema beach is unbelievable and the view is amazing. Wish i would have stayed in a higher floor. That would be my biggest complaint, you could hear the car noises in the first floor. The bar view is amazibg and the breakfast was solid.

I recently stayed at Hotel Sol de Ipanema and had a fantastic experience. The service was exceptional, with staff going above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. My room was spacious and comfortable, providing plenty of room to relax after a day of exploring. The breakfast offered was comprehensive, with a wide variety of delicious options to start the day right. Additionally, the hotel's location is unbeatable for those who prefer Ipanema, putting you right in the heart of the area. While the hotel itself isn't the most modern, it is still highly recommended for its excellent service and prime location.

Fantastic hotel and staff. The view is amazing. Right next to the beach and the hotel provides chairs and beach towels. The breakfast in the morning is delicious. We had a great stay in this place.

Best place ever … very well located

Great location. We were advised in advance that the pool was in repair and we wouldn't be able to use it during our stay. Nice "globo cookies" offered on arrival at the room. Spacious room, overlooking the ocean, on the 10th floor, was a great treat. Although it wasn't the free upgrade perk from Expedia, the fee we had to pay for this upgrade was well worth it. We usually stay at this hotel and it doesn't disappoint. Breakfast is also good with a variety of fruits, breads, cakes.

Amazing location and staff. The options of beach chairs, etc is very convenient. Very nice breakfast with a view. We never receive upgrade or have the option of late check out.

Great location. Staff was nice but only dealt with them at check in which was smooth. Hot water would run out everyday depending on when you decide to take a shower. Pool was closed for remodeling (no info about it on Expedia when booking). Overall it was meh, you won’t get blown away nor will you love it. More of a 3 star hotel than what Expedia had rated this.

Property across the street from beach. Included beach towels, chairs and umbrella. Room nice, but not great. In room coffee was additional charge. Great beach access, and all able shopping and dining.

I recommend

my family and I recently stayed at this hotel and was impressed by its great location. The hotel is conveniently situated, making it easy to access nearby attractions and transportation options. The cleanliness and upkeep of the rooms were excellent. Breakfast was enough and the staff was friendly. However, I found the check-in process to be quite tedious due to the mandatory form that needed to be filled out before you arrive ( not very friendly user). While I understand the importance of collecting information for safety and security purposes, the process felt overly cumbersome and time-consuming. It would be beneficial for the hotel to streamline this process to make it more efficient for guests ( system wise) Overall, despite the minor inconvenience of the check-in process, I enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would recommend it to others looking for a well-located and well-maintained accommodation option.

Great Rio trip

A 6 day trip trip to Rio De Janeiro, the Hotel was in the middle of Ipanema beach with lots of restaurants nearby and easy for tours to pick up. The room was nice and breakfast was good! Very courteous & helpful personnel. Yes I woul recommend Sol Ipanema hotel

Great stay- Beware of the Hotel Exchange Rate

Great location. Excellent restaurant and staff. One exception that still smarts is the mistake I made paying in dollars vs local currency. The hotel’s exchange rate on the bill conversion was outrageous!

Tiago at the front desk was fantastic gave me great tips for both a great time specifically great places to go and eat also local knowledge and real time information about staying safe. We were able to extend to different room until 9 o'clock at night at a very reduced rate because we had a night flight. Marcello at the front desk was also awesome. The rest of the staff staff was super friendly and helpful. Rooms were small but very clean. no washcloths available bring your own ;-)

Hotel is in an amazing location just across from the beach. The room was comfortable but small. Breakfast was good but nothing special. The views from the rooftop were spectacular! I would definitely go again.

An ok hotel, but not worth the money.

Hotel is old. Single pane windows, so lots of street noise. Rooms need a total refresh. Not what I expect for over $350/night.

Nao possui bebedouro em nenhum dos andares, exceto na piscina, que depois de um certo horario, fecha. O certo, seria ter uma bebedouro para encher garrafa 24hrs, ou na recepcao ou em cada andar. Outra coisa, as toalhas da piscina, deveriam ser localizadas perto da area depois das escadas (no andar em cima). Quando molhada depois do chuveiro, fui pegar uma toalha e escorreguei na escada, ja que a toalha estava localizada na area de baixo, e me machuquei.

This is the best hotel in Rio in my opinion. The view from the roof is amazing. The staff were great. The rooms are great. The beds are comfortable. I will stay here again. I felt safe and so much to do within walking distance. Sad to leave to be honest.

The AC dripped all night into one of our bags of clothes. They offered a drier but not great for the clothing that got wet. No one seem to care.

Don’t buy local tours from them employees don’t know anything they messed up my city tour I paid for 4 spots to go they only took me 2 places

Hotel Sol is a great location right off of Ipanema Beach. It also has its own top floor pool, lounge chairs, and pool bar. The front desk helped us check-in early, and the rooms were comfortable with AC, television, bidet, and comfortable beds. There is also breakfast in the mornings, and an Italian restaurant inside the hotel.

I've stayed at this hotel many times, and it's so worth it for the location! The staff is lovely and attentive - A for service. Use the hotel's towel service to go to the beach, but don't bother with the chairs and umbrellas - get those on the beach along with table service. The complimentary breakfast is excellent. Again, the appeal of this hotel is the fantastic location, the good service, and the wonderful rooftop view. However, this is the first time I've been back to this property in six years, and I did notice that it's due time for renovations. Everything in the room required an upgrade, from furniture to fixtures to bathroom tiles. Be prepared to wait long times for the elevators, as there are only two, or take the stairs. Do come here for the convenience of being smack in the middle of Ipanema, but if it it's modern amenities and luxury you seek, try another spot. I wouldn't say this is a four-star property, maybe a three-and-a-half at best, but it just depends on what's important to you.

Excellent accommodations for staying in Rio, would highly recommend. Location is top-notch - safe, convenient, perfectly situated to take advantage of all that Rio has to offer. The staff were all wonderful to us, helpful and kind. Loved my stay and miss Rio already. Thank you Sol Ipanema!

Service from the staff was great. There was an issue with some other guest and the elevator was broken, but the staff went above and beyond to fix the problem. I was sad to hear the guest ended up passing away after he left the hotel. The location is great and I had a great time

Excellent location - Convenient access to Metro, Dining, Shopping; Beautiful views from the rooftop.

Our shower had mold and hair from previous guests. The floors throughout had sand and if you walked barefoot your feet would be dirty. We paid 35 dollars per day for our pet and the hotel provided us with one pet pad for our four day stay. Only two towels were provided for three guests and we had to call several times to have an additional towel. The room was not cleaned during our outings and they came to clean our room at 5pm after we complained to the front desk. The staff was not approachable and welcoming. I could say a lot more about my not so pleasant stay at this hotel. It should not be rated as a four star hotel, more like a two! I will not be recommending this hotel to another person.

We had a wonderful time. The location is excellent, a spectacular view of the ocean and in the heart of Ipanema. The staff were very helpful and friendly and always willing to chat. The room was spacious and comfortable.

Great location by the beach and city centre but not good facilities, I don’t think I’d stay here again as a little dirty and poor value

Excellent location, in front of the beach and walking distance to many restaurants, shopping area, parks nearby. The hotel offers a good breakfast with a variety of items including tropical fruits, pastries, cakes, cereal, fruit juices, cheeses etc. the only drawback is the elevator. Only 2 small ones to service the 15 floors of rooms and unfortunately one of them is also a service elevator with the staff moving mattresses, cleaning supplies etc throughout the day along with guests carrying luggage. Overall a good place to spend a few days in Rio’s best neighborhood.

Great location with loads of good restaurants and bars around, good breakfast and friendly staff. Clean room with a view of the beach. Stunning view from the rooftop. Could use some update as slightly dated but mostly rooms could be made more soundproof. Overall enjoyed our stay

The Property itself is very nice, and a very nice area, close to restaurants and shops, and also in a very nice beach area. The staff and attention not so much. They were not really friendly, I had to take the initiative to say good morning or good afternoon. Also, the housekeeper were not changing the sheets, leaving the dirty sheets in the bed after cleaning the room. Not replenishing the bathroom supplies as needed and I had to make those requests. Even though the breakfast was included, they had the exact same options every day, I think they should vary in regards to options especially when someone stays a week or more, because you get tired of the same exact food for breakfast.

Overall... good hotel!

Great hotel, service and people were wonderful. If I could give one feedback was that rooms on 15th floor had to deal with the pool and bar noise a lot. Thanks
