Great value.
The staff was extremely non responsive and unaccommodating. We had several basic requests and the staff took sometimes over 2 hrs to respond. The housekeeping was HORRIBLE!!! Floor was not vacuumed. No wash cloths, linens on the bed were not changed daily. Coffee pot not cleaned and water wasn’t refreshed. The men that worked at the front desk were VERY RUDE and abrasive, from being questioned. I was not happy with this property.
Breakfast was amazing, mattress horrible. They moved us to different room it was slightly better
Le service pourri sa vaut pas le prix trop d attente pour avoir la chambre Chaque choses trop long
Amazing Hotel
Best hotel i have ever stayed. Amazing service and you were made to feel luxury from the checkin to check out. All staffs friendly and got personalised service. Location is perfect and worth the amount you pay. it made the holiday special
You need to be careful about their charges. My room was paid in advance via Expedia. I had to pay only local tax. They took the credit card info as a hold and one day after I see that they have charged the whole amount t again via my credit card. Fortunately I was coming back to Marrakech again and complained and they reversed the charge. If I left the country I’m sure it would have been a headache to get a refund. Please make sure that they do not double charge you. Other than that the service was good.
Mostly perfect stay
Everything was lovely....except....both mornings that I was there, there was a knocking sound at 6:30 am which woke me, which sounded like someone was already doing works in the rooms above me. I complained the second morning. The location is very convenient, everyone was very friendly, and the service was excellent.
Amazing hotel with wonderful staff
Wonderful.
Staff at the hotel are way laid back, no rush in getting things solved especially when you need to get things done.
A must-stay in Morocco. 5 out of 5
This property was absolutely dreamy. The best service, incredible breakfast, lovely dinner and music. The pools are gorgeous and located in a peaceful area of the city close to so many restaurants.
Beautiful place just wish the staff was more helpful and assisting towards clients needs.
Excellent property, very good breakfast
At check-out bill was padded with extra charges for mini bar which I did not use. This has happened to me before in Morocco. Check your bill. Service in night club was extremely slow, almost non-existent. Music was so loud you had to write to order anything. Conversation was impossible. I was granted access to the smaller heated pool, which I appreciated, but was told access was normally limited to members of a special club. Considering what I paid, access to the pool, should not have been restricted. The larger pool was much less interesting.
The best equipped for our needs
Sofitel Marrahech Experience
The hotel was well positioned and had a lovely garden and pool area. We had a junior suite which was very comfortable with balcony and good view. For a hotel of its status and daily charges, we were however, very disappointed with the limited restaurant choices. The pool bar/ restaurant was fine but the dinner options were very limited. We also did not like the digital menus which were difficult to load and use. We arrived from the airport at around 10.30am on the 5th October but were not able to access our room until 3pm. There was no apology offered or any attempt made to make us feel at home. I consider that this attitude was not in keeping with the perceived services offered by a 5 star hotel. The restaurant and bar service on the other hand was generally very good. In summary if asked, I could not recommend the hotel to any of my friends and would not choose to stay there again if I returned to Marrakech.
LIKED: super friendly staff and helpful, location is great, beautiful grounds DISLIKED: Not allowed to bring in outside food. One of us is Gluten Free and kids are picky eaters so options are limited at the hotel. I understand not having outside food in the lobby or grounds but in the privacy of your own room? For a 5 star resort this was very strange and we have stayed at several accor properties and are accor members. This is the first time we experinced this. If you are ok with only eating at the hotel then this place is amazing. If you like freedom to choose I would select else where.
The pool and breakfast are excellent. The staff are all very welcoming but the service can be a little poor on occasions. I felt disappointed to have to pay for all still water provided and would expect a five star to include at least one or two bottles around the pool. Location is great and it’s easy for taxis or to walk. If you are in one side of the hotel as we were the noise from a couple of nearby bars continues into the early hours and you can hear it (thank goodness for earplugs). All that said I would recommend and stay here again but a few items that a five star should address.
The dining experience was poor. We waited over an hour for low-quality meals, with a bottle of water costing 100 MAD instead of 7 MAD outside, feeling exploitative. The airport transfer was quoted at 500 MAD for a short ride, while a third-party service charged only 100 MAD. At checkout, I was wrongly billed 172 MAD for minibar items, leading to an awkward confrontation. Staff behavior was also problematic. Soukaina, the reception manager, was rude and dismissive, even laughing at me publicly. Additionally, my outside water was confiscated, which felt exploitative, especially in 90-degree heat. The hotel itself was not up to five-star standards, appearing worn and poorly maintained. Overall, my stay was marred by rude service, exploitative pricing, and a lack of care. I cannot recommend Sofitel Marrakech and urge potential guests to consider other options.
The property is expensive. The room is dull and dark. There isn’t much sunshine entering the room from the windows. Surprised to know that there was no bidet in the suite. There is a lot of not utilized space allocation in the lobby and corridors. Not the best of experience.
They took such good care of us great beds and pool. I slept so well. Spa is wonderful and well priced. Gift shop is great walking distance to a few malls and such. Carriage ride close by. We definitely felt safe and cared for.
Beautiful clean property, close to all major monuments, friendly professional staff. Will definitely go back.
Love the staff and everything was stellar will be back. Spa is heaven sent
Excellent stay
While we loved our stay in Marrakech, the Sofitel brand here was not up to par. The housekeeping and wait staff are very kind and service-oriented. I won’t go into the details, but I believe that upkeep needs to become first priority in order to keep the Sofitel brand to standard. The appearance and lobby feel Sofitel, the inside is Best Western.
I had to wait till 5:30pm to check in as my room was not ready. Garden view rooms were next to a nightclub and was always woken up in the middle of night by fighting and noisy revellers. Not much of of a quite weekend trip.
Lovely location and wonderful staff in all departments.
Friendly staff
The check in was very slow and unorganised, I had to go through three persons, after an hour of wait, I asked for the manager and this is when I was able to check in.
excellent experience
Horrible experience. Staff stole money at the spa out of my bath robe. The reception and the manager on duty were extremely rude and disrespectful
Enjoyed our time
Ce n’était pas digne d’un 5 étoiles
Very nice and clean friendly staff it has everything you need to enjoy your holiday close to main old city and shopping areas and restaurants and clubs amazing views. I love it
Nicely located at a quiet neighbourhood and still possible to walk to the city centre. Personnel was very helpful and friendly and the breakfast quite good quality and choice.
The property is very nice, the recepcionist were not so nice to welcome us, I asked for a luxury room with 2 beds, never change us for one bed, the bedroom did not have coffe machine, I asked every day for it, never have it, and we have the last room of the building, 7 min walk to the restaurant for breakfast
Stunning building and is high end luxury in the lobbies and stunning grounds, but room was very basic compared to the expected standards. Staff super friendly, respectful and helpful. Bed was so great and comfortable. Just felt for the price and expected 5 star experience it fell short of the mark for me.
Outstanding! Although the property is impeccable, the staff of the Sofitel is what makes this hotel a wonderful and memorable stay. Hachim at the concierge desk took care to answer all of our queries in detail (and we had many!); Nouredine at the main restaurant remembered our orders and provided top notch service. We will definitely return in the near future.
Fantastic hotel near the Old Town of Marrakech. The rooms were huge and well laid out. The staff were friendly and courteous, and the gardens were a delighted. A beautiful hotel.
Ashamed of Sofitel
Sofitel should be ashamed to have their name on this business. The service needs a full turnover or major training, at the very least. It is a very noisy hotel, including them doing industrial carpet cleaning at 1:30 am. We had to move rooms 3 times and never got a decent night’s sleep. If you have a choice, go elsewhere. You will thank me for it.
Disappointing room quality
Overall, the service was good. However, the rooms were overpriced for an outdated style, very small, and poorly lit. The room quality was not up to par; we actually considered leaving after checking into the hotel.
Was great all around. There was a mix-up with one item on our final bill. It was sorted within moments after i flagged it. Always check your final bill.
The best hotel we’ve ever stayed at. Extremely clean, the food is excellent and the staff is amazing. We’ll be going back in the futur
Stressful experience
I have going to Sofitel since 8 years and I could not believe the terrible experience with had me and my son. It used to be a Lovely hotel with great service but I must admit that the level of service has changed a lot! This is definitely not a 5 star level of service! I booked a Junior Suite 6 weeks in advance and specifically requested a beautiful view on the garden and Swimming pool so I can check my son. Instead we had a junior suite very dark, I felt in a cave with view on a concrete roof of the parking. I mediately requested another room. We arrived at 5.30 pm after a long plane journey and my son was looking forward to jump in the pool. Instead it took 2 hours and half to check in o finally placed us in a decent room they charged us 1,500 Dirham extra per night! We were there to relax on holiday but instead we had the laundry service knocking at our door and stepped in directly inside our room without our permission at 8am! And to make sure we were not going back to relax then they called at 8.15 am to explain why they entered our room without permission! This happened also in the evening when I showered before getting ready for dinner and I heard voices in my room. It was the room service checking from inside my room if I needed something ! And just to wrapped up the quality of service: I made sure our luggage and taxi from the hotel (which is 3 times the price of a normal taxi so you would expect high service.) were ready exactly at 4.45 pm to take us to the air
Hotel was nice & good location
The property is quite nice… the arrival is beautiful and after a long trip it was nice to finally arrive home for the next 10 days! The hotel staff is welcoming and hotel smells great all setting a great start to the vacation! The room is pleasantly appointed although it is getting a little dated and will need some refreshing soon! However everything is clean although the rug appears to have a stains it is still ok. We also took the option of including the breakfast buffet with the room! I this trip I booked two rooms … the first few mornings are great with a well organized breakfast room allowing to have breakfast outside on the lanai covered from the hot sun… the breakfast buffet is well set up .. as this room is expressly made for this with orderly breakfast stations and something for every taste! The service is great and very attentive! This unfortunately does not last for our entire stay as the breakfast room is made unavailable to guests as a large group is coming in and headed to the hotel and will now be exclusively using this location! Breakfast for guests is moved to a second level which is clearly not prepared for the breakfast crowd.. interior room is somewhat limited and outside patio is not equipped with only 4 or 6 sun umbrellas leaving most people simply sitting in the direct sun for breakfast… although the staff are trying to make this work the buffet is oddly set up, things are not tidy and tables dirty! Not to the standard of this hotel chain!
Hotel was very nice. Adil greated us at the front desk and was very welcoming, went over the top to make us feel welcome. Only down side was the strange rule of no outside food or drinks - including milk for our 1 year old.
The hotel is in a great location the rooms were spacious and comfortable. There is a good selection at the breakfast buffet the pool and gardens are delightful and the food at the poolside restaurant was excellent. Unfortunately the hotel is let down by the reception staff. I had requested rooms with a view which meant a high floor prior to arrival .We were given ground floor rooms on arrival and had to move the following day. Reception staff did not deal with the request or any request well.Their attitude was haughty and unhelpful.
The hotel was ok but the front desk staff and check in process was horrible. I wouldn’t stay there because of the guest services
The property and services were excellent. I will recommend to family and friends!
Property was expansive with a beautiful garden. Room was clean and had all the essential products for guest. Staff were polite and helpful, but customer service was slow.
One of the nicest hotels in Marrakech. Very classy. Beautiful decor and amenities. No complaints.
Beautiful entrance and decor. Perfum shop by reception gave it a really pleasant scent and our suite was spacious. Staff by the front gate were amazing, helpful and really friendly.
Magnificent stay.
Great Hotel, Fantastic people everywhere from the welcoming valet to Reception and lobby to room services, and breakfast restaurant employees…. Magnificent and warm, extremely helpful a true 5* hotel. Room are beautifully appointed renovated and very well decorated. The service is efficient and very warm. I will be back shortly.
Amazing
Fantastic! The whole experience and staff was amazing. Thank you Bachkan,Rachida, Ilan,Farah,Hichan,Siad,Ibrahim,Waleed and Zakahria. Sure we will be coming back soon.
Amazing
Amazing trip, good food and very nice pool
The hotel is amazing.
How does the Chairman of Accor sleep at night knowing that this property represented the best of his group and tries to competes with extraordinary properties in this condition? Marrakech is a top destination with world class hotels, and this is the best he has to offer? Its embarassing.
Beautiful hotel, Superb cleanliness, lovely staff. I wish to have stayed longer
The property is beautiful, located centrally everything you need is in walking distance. The staff, Wafa especially were super friendly and helpful. Wafa went out of her way to make our stay special because of her we’ll be back!
Best hotel in town, near shopping and a lot of restaurants/cafe’s
The hotel was very nice and luxurious walking in. Check in was very pleasant with tea brought out. The hotel itself is incredibly large with several pools, restaurants, etc. The room was typical of a large hotel. There was a balcony. Unfortunately, ours faced a garden next to a large road, so it was very noisy. There wasn't anything outstanding or unique about the room, but it was clean. The property was nice, as was the staff.
Breakfast and setting were divine. Would def stay here again!
Little bit frayed around the edges but altogether lovely place good location.
Upon arrival we were being pushed into a room upgrade on the old side with butler.. upon viewing & refusing we were made to wait 3 hours for our rooms on the Spa & Lounge side (as per booking)... reception staff seemed extremely put out that we turned down upgrade... We had a suite on the 5th floor with stunning views.. however the cleanliness leaves much to be desired.. they say “yes” to everything but do nothing! Breakfast & staff absolutely wonderful... especially the lovely juice maker gentleman! Big thumbs up for my special order juice! Will I return, I’m afraid not!
Excellent location. Great facilities, pool, gym. Wonderful service
comfortable luxury stay in a great area
This was a great hotel for our four day stay in Marrakech. The rooms are spacious and clean. The pool was really nice for cooling off during the hot afternoons. The location was great with many sites in walking distance of a short cab ride away.
BEST HOTEL In MARRAKECH
It was an amazing stay beds were comfy and swimming pool was amazing
Our room had a very very sticky floor as soon as we entered the room. The sink faucet was broken and kept coming off in our hands. Had to report it several times to get the floor cleaned and no one ever apologized or even checked to see if it was cleaned to our satisfaction. The sink was never fixed and no manager ever contacted us. Terrible for an expensive hotel. Pool staff was hard to find for a drink. Second rate treatment at what claims to be a first class hotel. The worse is that no one cared, no one checked and no one offered any compensation. I guess it is not an unusual circumstance. Stay somewhere else if you want a quality stop.
5 star service super clean brand new rooms. One of the Best hotel we have stayed at
The hotel location is good and the staff are very helpful and friendly.
Great price!
The location of the hotel was amazing! Breakfast was great too! We enjoyed staying here, it was extremely reasonably priced, great condition, and in a fantastic location!
Everything was very nice, the room was beautiful. The restaurant food was good but not great
Really nice hotel. The staff were really nice and friendly. The breakfast is amazing !!! Would definitely stay again at the Sofitel
Very pleasing to look at but service is terrible
For such a premium hotel the service was absolutely shocking. Rude, dismissive and excruciatingly slow for food and drink in all areas. Considering the costs charged and the star rating we came here for our honeymoon expecting to be pampered for a few days and instead we had to frequently chase down staff that were running around like headless chickens. There seemed to be no manager in charge to guide the staff and the giant portions of food did not make up for the fact that it wasn't particularly special and in fact rather bland. In our room, although the organisation was nice, there was a bottle of wine we finished on the first day that was never cleaned away. The mini-bar fridge was never replenished. We were supplied with slippers for the bedside only on the night before we left.
We enjoyed our stay here in a calm oasis just outside the Medina. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is being renovated and we were lucky to stay in one of the newly refurbished rooms, which had been done to a very high standard. I would recommend this hotel if you want somewhere to escape from the hustle and bustle of a day of sightseeing and relax around the pool.
We were a family of 8 occupying three rooms. One of the rooms was totally unacceptable and had to be changed at check in. It was in the non-renovated section and it was tired and wreaked of smoke. We can confirm that service in the pool area is also unacceptable in terms of attitude, attentiveness and response. Food took well over 90 minutes on a consistent basis once you were able to get someone’s attention for a menu. Pool staff was virtually invisible and we had to chase someone down to find towels. There were many other guests complaining of poor service outdoors. The main desk staff were professional and helpful to a degree. It seems that there was a complete disconnect between front desk staff and pool and outdoor service staff. Housekeeping, although good, was slow to respond for requests for toilet paper and other accessories. The rooms were very clean and very comfortable. We had an issue over a poolside bill to the point where management intervened and offered our lunch for free. We were later chased down by one of the pool staff for payment even though a manager had clearly stated in front of the server not to charge. We were confronted by a manager before leaving and we told him the story. It was not about the small charge but it was certainly about the inconsistency and lack of courtesy and professionalism. If this hotel is to promote itself as a five star facility, it will certainly have to increase its staff to guest ratio and train its staff.
I would describe this hotel as fake fancy. The lobby is impressive and the prices are high but the experience was average. The room had finishing details that were left undone and room service meals were cold and cooked improperly. We ordered a cheeseburger medium rare and it came to us very cold and extremely over cooked. Poolside was weird. We had to search all over the pool are for towels and no one ever cane by to ask us if we wanted to order anything. The view was of the hotel but also the freeway. All in all not worth the money. If it had been 80 us a night then that would make sense but not 300+
No value for money
Great place worst service ever
Great location. Staff friendly but poor services
Great location. Staff are friendly but poor services. No one answers your calls. The effort of staff is appreciated. The room needs maintenance for multiple problems specially the showers.
Ridiculously expensive and not worth it
Nice location just don’t eat or drink there - milkshake £10, Coke £8 - staff on reception ignore us on arrival , watched as others recieved hot towels and tea , eventually checked us in a room 20 mins walk away. Ate breakfast , lunch and all snacks round the corner at a 24hour deli as it was so extortionate
Beautiful hotel where you can walk to the souk.
This is a luxury 5 stars hotel. You will appreciate. All is extremely good except one thing: the prices of the items you will purchase/use/eat/drink there. Some examples not to do: a breakfast in your room 43EUR, a red bull in the mini bar 7EUR, a breakfast at the beautiful bar in the sun near the pool 25EUR, the indoor heated swimming pool 1h is 15EUR.
It was ok bed linen and towels need to be renewed
The hotel was ok but didn't meet the sofitel standards need to be renovated .bes sheet and towels look bad couldnt beleive that was sofitel.
Don't fall for the pictures online!!
This is the first time I have stayed at a hotel and everything that was posted in pictures was fraudulent!! The hotel is old and run down. One wing is closed off and you could see the windowless/doorless rooms from the pool. They trick you with pictures and put you in old run down rooms. They sure said they spoke English. Well if you like someone to smile and say yes ma'am without having a clue of what your requesting that this is your place. It was friststrating. The best part was the So lounge. I had made prior arrangements and they were forgotten about. However, 2 managers tried to mKe it better but it was a day late and a dollar short. They did not advertise of the "unexpected" restaurant closing time so we were hungry and forced to order expensive room service which was horrible. All I got was I'm sorry and a hefty room service bill. I have been to almost many European, Asian and S. American countries. This was my first Africa trip and it was terrible. Also there was tiles missing in the floor. Don't stay here!!
Good location and stunning pool
The hotel pool is stunning and I could easily spend all my time there. However, room cleaning service is far below its 5 star rating tho hotel management was very kind to offer me some flowers, perfume, a free meal to make up for it. All in all, it is a very nice hotel and good location but don't expect European standards of service there. I do believe this hotel made my holiday so much more enjoyable.
Fantastic hotel!!
The hotel was great and the service was fantastic!! The general manager for guest relations was awesome!! He arranged a bouquet of flowers for my wife who was celebrating her 40th birthday and also arranged a late check out for us at no extra cost. One of the restaurant staff also arranged a cake at no extra cost for her in less than a couple of hours!! My friends and I had a great time!! Will definitely visit again!
Beautiful grounds, TERRIBLE service
We stayed at the Sofitel Lounge & Spa for two nights while in Marrakech. One thing to note is that the Lounge & Spa is the same hotel as the Palais Imperial (just different towers). While the grounds were very nice, the service was absolutely TERRIBLE. My husband and I had a horrible experience at the pool the second afternoon. We arrived around 2pm and after laying on our chairs for 45 minutes finally tracked down a waiter to get a food & drink menu. He came back 20 minutes later to take our order and we asked for a bottle of wine and scoop of ice cream. Another 45 minutes later he was nowhere to be found and we had not received our very simple order. I tracked down the pool manager and explained the situation and my frustration. He had another waiter come take care of us and he brought us an upgraded bottle of wine and some additional snacks which I assumed were on the hotel. As we were getting ready to leave we are hit with a bill charging us for a more expensive bottle of wine than we had originally ordered. At this point I was too annoyed to track down the manager again so just paid the bill and got out of there. The whole time we were there the service was awful, but this specific instance was the worst. Long story short, I would not suggest staying at the Sofitel. There are many other nice hotels around the area that I'm sure have much better service.
Nice hotel close to medina and guliez
I stayed in the Sofitel lounge and spa part of the hotel. I booked the junior suite I think it was a newly refurbished room as it looked and smelt very new. The room had everything I needed. Staff were extremely friendly and also very helpful. You get free access to the So Lounge, Sofitels night club, as part of your stay. I didn't go but did sit in the garden and smoke shisha on a few nights which was open til 4am.
Not so honest
I would not recommend this hotel. For one on check in they gave me a room that had someone already in their, after their mistake they said they would upgrade me to a suite, only to find out when I got back home that they had charged me $600.00 on my credit card for no reason, which the credit card company is now investigating, also the hotel is for French speaking people even though government language is Arabic everything is in french even your hotel receipt which leaves you at the mercy of the hotel staff to translate for you, no where are you safe from people smoking except in your none smoking room, while checking in or out the hotel lobby is full of people smoking which should be for everyone and not for people who smoke, but for everyone. THIS IS WHY I CAN NOT RECOMMENDED THIS HOTEL FOR ITS DISHONESTY AND LACK OF RESPECT FOR ALL GUESTS.
Best hotel
Great place
Excellent hotel with excellent staff service
The hotel caters for every need one would require for a vacation. Having travelled and stayed in many hotels I must comment on the excellent services received from the hotel staff and must mention Mr Rouduane and Mme Nafissa from Housekeeping - my room felt like a honeymoon suite with the beautiful flowers and candles that was made up for me and my partner, and whatever we required Mr Rouduane and Mme Nafissa was so quick to oblige us. I was particularly impressed with the professionalism of Miss Nassira and Miss Basma with assisting with any query we had whilst at the same time their demeanour and conduct made us feel like special VIP guests. Adil from concierge was also great too with all the advice of things to do in Marrakech from excursions to places to eat and visit. Thank you Sofitel staff for such a great experience! :)
A good hotel with a few niggles
The hotel is beautiful with some great facilities such as the pool area and the spa facilities. There is also a functional gym and you can go for a approx 6km jog around the olive grve across the road. (I'm not sure whether a woman on their own would feel safe but with a jogging partner it ought to be fine). The gardens around the pool are beautful and the constant bird song is wonderful. You get all the usual stuff like helpful staff to bring towels to your seat when you are by the pool or bring drinks you order. The only niggles relate to ordering food. Unlike other hotels of this calibre you seem to only be able to order certain foods from certain restaurants at certain times. But these are just niggles - it really is a good hotel. ( Go for breakfast. A buffet of significant variety awaits you and it even includes a gluten free section for those who are coeliacs. As an aside, £100 bought us 800DH from one of the Exchange companies in Gatwick. This appears to be really bad value as it is a rate of 1:8 whereas at our hotel our bill gave a rate > 1:10. So, best not to buy beforehand, though you are limited to 2000DH anyway.
Excellent location
Lovely swimming pool and excellent location. At the time there was some building work being done to the hotel we could hear it early in the morning.
Great hotel, shame about the poor service
Second time to this hotel and thought service would be better. Ended up changing room 4 times due to sewage smell. Final room we asked for somewhere quiet and got put above the nightclub! Never again, everything takes so long, food, getting through to reception, housekeeping.... Just frustrates even more.
The hotel was old. Definitely needs renovaion
Wonderful hotel but the deluxe suite was not worth the price. It was to hot to use the balcony and the promised view of the Atlas mountains and the swimming pool could not to be seen. We where also woken by a call from room service in the middle og the night and asked to open the door so they could deliver what we had ordered. We had of course not ordered anything and our sleep was disrupted and it was difficult to fall asleep again. Fantastic breakfast.
Nice hotel, staff need training.
Rooms very nice. Staff need training in customer service. Staff need to communicate with each other more. Wrong info provided by staff. Staff are not understanding but rude. Staff need to smile more. Not all staff are bad.
Great spot for ttavels
Great location, short walk into centre but away from the hustle and bustle. Lovely pool area. Service a bit slow but fine if you're not in a rush or too thirsty!
Amazing hotel and excellent services
AMAZING, it was a nice experience and the staff is perfect

Beautiful property with very friendly staff. Would highly recommend and certainly stay again!
