The bed and pillows were too firm, so it was very uncomfortable to sleep for me. I got neck pains as a result and not much sleep! Also, the water pools when you take a shower.
We liked the location. You absolutely should use Uber.
Wonderful!
A nice hotel, just too noisy for a good night sleep. To be clear the noise from outside. There were two other restaurants near by that parties till late, like 4:00 AM. Over all was good. Great staff and good amenities. Get a room on a higher level. The noise might not be as bad.
A hotel with a very nice view at the middle of the city
Amazing and soo beautiful
Amazing Nile view . Staff members were very helpful
The location for meal looking onto the Nile was amazing, as were the cakes ;) . Rooms a little dated but aside from that everything else was 5*
Great stay
Service was incredible especially Tarek who maintained room cleaning.
The problem is that it is a very expensive country to be in Africa and it is not a big deal. The people at the front desk are not so friendly and everything is extremely expensive
Lots of amenities
The staff were all wonderful.
.
nice property on Nile
I recently stayed at the Sofitel Hotel in Cairo and had a mixed experience. The view from my room was absolutely breathtaking, offering a stunning panorama of the Nile and some city that I thoroughly enjoyed. The pool and spa facilities were excellent and provided a great place to relax. The food options were varied and delicious, catering to a range of tastes. However, I did encounter some challenges with communication. Many of the front desk and restaurant service staff did not speak to me in English, which made it difficult to understand what was being said. Overall, while the facilities were great, I wish the service staff were more proficient in English to enhance the overall guest experience for international travelers.
amazing hotel, location, pool and people
This hotel is absolutely beautiful!!!! I HIGHLY recommend anyone and everyone to stay here. It was very safe, the staff were extremely welcoming and helpful, always willing to assist, and offers absolutely stunning views! The hotel was clean and well maintained throughout. The restaurants all offered a beautiful view of the Nile which truly highlighted being in Cairo. 10/10!
Facility in general was wonderful , right along the Nile. Dining was very good . Spa services were excellent. Felt very safe and comfortable here as an American.
Nice Hotel and Nile views. Breakfast spectacular.
Everything is perfect
Great experience
The Nile location greatly contributed to the user experience. The staff was friendly and responded immediately to every request. After 2007, it would be time for another renovation of the rooms and the pool area, as these areas are showing some weaknesses. It should be noted that despite this, cleanliness was always maintained, and the cleaning staff did a good job.
Good hotel with a beautiful view
Great location. Could do with a refurbishment but actually wonderful spot
Beautiful hotel. They upgraded us to a suite since we were newly weds. Loved everything about the service
Lobby has a really disgusting odor like sewer mix with perfume, rooms are not soundproof at all, you can hear all the music and loud noise from clubs around and nile river boats! 6/10
Noisy at night. If you need total quietness, make sure you get a very high floor.
One star is more than enough for the level of service.they kept me till after 5 to check me in and made all kinds of excuses ,and when confronted they just started smirking ,it made me feel that they are used to dealing like that with their guests . At the end I got a bill for over $130 for some chocolate and chips from my fridge ,not including any alcohol and when I told the staff checking me out ,some guy called Samer I got another dirty laugh and not even a hint of wanting to try to do something. Overall a nasty stay
No matter what the property offers the incompetence and the rudeness of the staff especially at the desk the check-in and the checkout is just horrendous and that affected everything.
Good hotel
All was good
Overall is excellent!!!
Location was amazing
Comfortable stay
This hotel had an amazing view of the Nile River, staff was very friendly and they met all your needs. I highly recommend
The location is excellent the stage is good need to be more professional the food is very good
Vary good
Excellent!
Sofitel is amazing. I would go back for the view alone. It was breathtaking. But, the staff were also amazing, so friendly and helpful and always a cheerful smile. They make the stay perfect. My room on the 9th floor was fabulous. Spotlessly clean and a good size. The pillows must be the softest in the world. I had the best sleep ever. I loved looking out at the city and the Nile in the morning and at night. It was truly amazing. The food and service at Sofitel is second to none. And to dine right by the Nile, 👌. I didn't get to the spa this time round but there is so much on offer I will definitely be booking a few treatments on my next visit. I did spend a little time by the pool which was fabulous. My trip was short but I enjoyed every minute of it thanks to the team at the fabulous Sofitel. I will be back.

سوء تعامل الاستقبال وعدم الاهتمام بالنزيل وايضا الاثاث قديم جدا مع وجود ريحه بالغرفة والحمام كثير سيئه
We had a pleasant stay at this hotel for 3 days. The rooms were very small, especially for the price per day. The swimming pool was always at full capacity and too small to accommodate a lot of people. The staff were lovely and the buffet breakfast was absolutely delicious. The breakfast staff were lovely and always remembered our coffee order which was sweet. The highlight is the view from the balcony of the Nile river otherwise location is not bad. Overall, we had a lovely stay but only rooms and bathrooms were too small
There are lots of thing you can do inside the hotel. The only thing I didn't like some rooms need to be renewed
Absolutely outstanding in every way. The views, rooms, staff, lounge areas, and location for getting around Cairo. The restaurants are also excellent. Highly recommend the chicken tangine.
Rooms are outdated and not worth the price.
When critiquing a property I always put context first. Cairo is a large, bustling, in-your-face city. An assault on your senses in every way. So of course, keeping in mind that in mind when assessing the hotel. At the same time, when you deem yourself a 5 star hotel and charge prices higher than most hotels in Cairo, that comes with a set of expectations. And those were not met. The service has A LOT to learn. Bags were misplaced, orders and requests needed to be put in 4-5 times before they arrived, half the time the staff was somewhat nice (although incompetent) but there were more than a few occasions where they were flat out rude. Especially waiters. As a group of women at a table, we noticed groups of men getting much better, timelier and more attentive service. Female staffers were better. Male staffers, mostly rude. I would think twice before staying here again. Overall, I feel like the entirety of the staff needs to be retrained.
The best hotel in Cairo I think
Thank you to Ahmed Shandawili and the wonderful hotel team. We had a very memorable anniversary experience, everything was fantastic. We really appreciate the extra effort and care. We would definitely visit again and recommend to others. It’s definitely worth it!
I loved this hotel. The value for money for a high end Sofitel was exceptional. Restaurants were great and the pool/sauna/steam area was perfect
Highly recommended
Nice location
A lot of noise. Till like around 3am
So beautiful!! I loved everything about this place!
Hotel is nice but definitely outdated or difficult to navigate. Restaurants are nice and food was good but staff was average at best, at least our server was. You meed reservations for all the restaurants which is nice but can also be difficult. Room service staff was great!
The hotel facilities and views from this hotel are amazing! Still, I wish we would have known that the hotel is close to many night clubs in the area so you could hear the music all night long. If you would like to party this is the best place to be, but we came with a small child and had troubles sleeping.
The hotel was very pretty, well maintained, and safe.
Excellent location and service
Ahmed Rafat and Ihab really took care of me. They made sure all my concerns were addressed. They did an amazing job cleaning my room. A special thank you also goes out to Sandra at the Check in. She made sure my experience at the hotel was amazing. She provided me with great customer service and I truly appreciate all her efforts. The location of the hotel was also perfect. It is in the heart of downtown with easy access to different parts of the city. The views in the restaurant are equally as breathtaking.
Nice hotel polite staff but all the charges are ripoff, for 500ml water bottles they charge me 190 egp, they have laundry service but ridiculous prices one shirt 8 dollars one trouser 8 usd unbelievable I wash entire lode of clothes for only 15usd outside laundry nearby pick up and drop off my clothes
Repeat visit and consistent high standards. Helpful staff. Great breakfast team, including Ahmed and Ramadan. Location on island has better air quality and less hectic, which for me is differentiation from other hotels in Cairo. Reception area is good for getting in/out car service.
It’s a beautiful hotel inside and the outside areas, with an amazing location on the nile - and fantastic facilities. The real only (but major) downside was that there are some nightclubs very close and the room soundproofing is poor, with the level of music I didn’t get a good nights sleep either night (as they pump out loud dance music until 2am). Which is a real shame.
The staff went above and beyond to make us feel special,
Room is very outdated. Furniture and carpet doesn’t match no headboard. Bathroom needs renovation.bathroom floor grout needs to be redone.very ordinary room not Sofitel standard. We have stayed in so many Sofitel in other countries this one is worst.
Needs major renovations
I used to go every 2 years regularly till 2019. This time the hotel is not maintained and needed major renovations.
Centrally located in the city.
Great time there! Concierge was very helpful! Amazing breakfast and restaurants! Recommended 💫💫
Superb quality a truly memorable experience with great food, super helpful staff and a stunning location .I shall return
Needs a renovation
Unfortunately has the best location but it needs a good renovation
it was a nice stay
الغرف قديمه بس والباقي كله ممتاز
Very old hotel only the location
Beautiful hotel with view of the Nile! Spa was great so was the jacuzzi! Staffs were very helpful and welcome. They also gave me a complimentary 2 hrs late checking, I couldn’t be more pleased. Highly recommend The Sofitel if you visit Cairo!
Marvelous Hotel!!
Hotel is perfect, well located, food is delicious and service as well. The room with the panaromic view is also amazing. I will come back.
Excellent location, nice and clean room. Only 1 issue: the electric outlet should be updated .me coming from the state finding hard time charging my phone. The staff at the club lounge were amazing, very professional, they went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Mrs abd el moneam and hana bishay’s dedication, knowledge, with a great care etc…. Keep up the good work.very best. Mechha
Great hotel and staff.
This is not worth staying in. They have 3 restaurants and they have the same menu at each location, the pool is the smallest I've ever experienced. It shouldn't be considered 5 star hotel, maybe 3!
L
Everything was ok , but sometimes it takes a long time to be served
A/C wasn’t working well , I told the front desk 3 times , but didn’t fix it
Lots of late night noise from party boats on the river but great location and friendly/helpful staff.
This hotel was amazing and the staff was superb.
Great room, view was great. Staff was very helpful
Disappointed at the duty manager on June 23rd. We were inviting 6 friends at Kebabgy restaurant and we were having a drink at the bar. The staff told us there is a minimum charge of LE 350. When i told him we are having dinner later he insisted with the a loud voice that these are two different and separate parts o the hotel. I asked for the manager and they sent a manager on duty who was talking to me with his hands folded on his chest and was extremely defensive. Later he sat down and was vaping in front of is and joking with his staff so he was taking his staff side. Forgot to mention that i stayed at this hotel 3 times for the last 3 years.
We cannot recommend this property any more highly! Absolutely stunning location (walkable to the Egyptian Museum too), lovely and helpful staff, delicious dining options, nice room, and great spa/pool services. We hope to stay again one day!
dear to whom it cunsern hope you having a great day,,, during my staying on the Hotel, I faced some problem and I told the hotel about it but unfortunately I had no response at all, after one night of my staing I found par of sucks that does not belong to me ether they don't clean the room well or there is someone came and use the room while I'm not there. also I have a driver that should pick me up from the front door and they didn't allow hem to come inside and pick me up, so I had to walk every time out side. I am a member on this hotel and I never had those issue before. please get in mind that I am reporting this matter to the Sofie management and I need to get compensation on this mater.
Great location with nice restaurants in premises. Right off the Nile River. Rooms were nice and always equipment with water and necessity needs.
The Sofitel name is being unrepresented by this properly, it needs a refurbishment upgrade, across the board.
The lobby & grounds are very nice and well kept. Our room was on the 12th floor. There are probably 24 or more floors. The room was a very nice size but the carpets were really dirty. The shower/tub drain wasn’t working properly. The biggest issue was all the noise coming from parties or weddings, they go on until 2-3 am every night. So sleeping was an issue. I paid for a High Floor Premium Partial Nile room…. NO EXPEDIA VIP perks here. As I mentioned I was on the 12 floor with partial Nile view mainly facing a parking lot. Yet, I was told that was an upgrade 😆 So, if you’re looking for VIP perks, you won’t get them here. On the positive side, breakfast was awesome and staff extremely pleasant.
Terrific hotel
I was in Cairo for the first time and made the right choice staying at the Sofitel. Check in time was not until 3pm and my flight landed in Cairo at 6am. Yet, the staff was able to accommodate early check in so that my wife and I could rest. We just had to wait 3 hours so that they can prepare our room. The quality of food and beverages is outstanding. The natural juices are truly natural and not watered down. The service from everyone was terrific. The location is a very good location and accessible via car. The building itself is old and so definitely don’t expect a brand new renovated room. But even though the building is older, it is really clean. We asked for room service on 2 nights and Mohammad came to deliver the food. He was courteous and friendly and super professional. There are plenty of restaurants to eat at and each is unique. If ever in Cairo in the future, we will strongly consider the Sofitel again. The quality was great.
Great place on Nile.
Very good hotel I recomend it very much
Lovely hotel, the staff was helpful gracious and very professional
My room should be with balcony but the didnt open it and the room was too small even not foe one person and I booked for 3 people the services was too bad
Great staff
Beauty property on the Nile with a great view. Pool area is a little small but nice. Workers were all pleasant and helpful. A bunch of restaurants to choose from. The breakfast is a must.
The overall is very good, the only issue is the low telephone response. I tried to contact the resturants for booking, however most of times no reply. When I checked out the receptionist asked me for the cost of telephone call I didn’t made.
Awful hotel
Very poor standard for a Sofitel, people were very unfriendly I spoke to customer services twice and was shocked by the sarcastic replies I received. On both nights we were there ALL restaurants were fully booked by guests not Staying in the hotel!
The hotel is on the Nile. Wonderful to have your meals seating watching the boats go by
This property was beautiful and stunning Nile view. I did however have a few disappointing experiences. The pool bartender asked if I wanted same drink as day before but instead poured me a $90 cocktail! I complained to manager and nothing happened. We paid 750 Egypt pounds each for a la carte dinner and it was same as the free food at the included buffet except we had to wait over an hour for service and the food was cold. I complained, no response. No menu or pricing for mini bar, I only saw a sign that said help yourself so I assumed because I was on "club level" it was included. It was not. Another $45 for chips and nuts which we get FREE in the club lounge. Be prepared for Woman that are alone to get smiles but no help.
Good location with a great view
