Best buffet breakfast ever Air conditioner did not work Very helpful staff Newly renovated Excellent pricing
this nice place to stay even little far from the center. But you will love this place and their services
good budget hotel, nice staff and breakfast
It was a very comfortable room. The breakfast was fabulous!
Glitches on Expedia kept me from knowing if booking went thru or not, for another location. So I tried to book Smooth Rome. Ended up with 2 bookings, 2 locations in Rome. Tried to cancel WITHIN 30 minutes, denied. Paid for 2 nights even though we didn’t stay there at all. There needs to be some short amount of grace period for errors, or computer glitches. I have not mentioned specific prices or room rates. I have not used any profanity. I have not referenced personal information. I have not included photos containing inappropriate or unrelated content.
They wouldn't give us a second key. Claimed there was a technical problem. Rooms are outdated. 2nd ekevator said out of service but we saw staff using it.
Staff was helpful and friendly. The hotel was impeccable and their breakfast menu was amazing!
Worst than second stars hotel.
Rooms are very mouldy and dirty. The phone and switch are not working. The sink is blocked. We used the bathtub to wash a hand. We stayed one night and booked two rooms and the second room is worse than the first one. Second room bathroom is very dirty. Worse than over imagination 😪.
Colazione buona, camera pulita e comoda. Bene.
Highly recommend this option
Great hotel with amazing staff. Big breakfast options, room was already cooled when we arrived. 2 min walk to the bus or 15 min walk to the metro which both get you right to downtown. Food in the restaurant was excellent as well.
We found many flies in our room. Loved the complimentary buffet breakfast.
all good
The hotel have air conditioning and hot water is a plus in Rome. Have no parking but there is a public parking few meters down the hotel. I will recommend for short stays
Very nice staff. Always available staff. Our flight got delayed and didn’t get to check in till almost 1am and it was fine. The metro is 0.7 mile walk away.
I booked a Super room for my stay from 21st May to 24th May 2024. But when we arrived they gave us a standard room (mostly the bathroom is meant for disabled occupants). The bathroom was unclean with a smell that was unbearable. I think they havent cleaned the room before giving us the key for the room. Though we have booked a Super room they gave us a standard room. So we have to complain about it at the front desk. But they refused us to give a Super room saying the hotel is full and asked us to stay till the next day. This is unacceptable after paying extra for a super room we got a standard room. Also that standard room had a horrible smell and we had to ask them to clean the room again as we couldnt stay in that room. Why are we charged for a Super room and given a standard room. We need compensation for their behavior.
The hotel is clean the water pressure is low for showers, breakfast good less then 1 minutes to the bus stop and 15 minutes to metro over we enjoy
This was an average property. Desk staff was very helpful. We had no need for room service with our short stay. Restaurant was never available as it was catering to groups with no consideration for other guests. "Shuttle service" was convenient but slightly more expensive than normal cab rates to airport.
Overall, the place is ok. However, the rooms are old and have moldy smell.
Hotel could be more clean with more amenities
Noisy area, hot, no air conditioner, can’t sleep at night.
The hot water fluctuated when showering. Scalding hot to cold
The shower was not clean, and smell bad in the room.
The staff was outstanding, overall accommodating.
There was no air conditioning, rooms were hot and smelly, charging stations did not work or tripped breakers, had to keep asking for toiletries, breakfast was sub-par,
You should put a big property sing by the sidewalk. Uber dirver got lost, could not find the hotel. Add an outlets to recharge the cellphone in the room. Bath tub vey slippery. Other than that 4 .
405 Room very clean bathroom, super shine. Breakfast in the morning. And great customer service.
Very dirty and smelly, bitten by many mosquitoes
4/10 Stay
Decided to stay here because it was affordable. Hotel had a weird smell and inside our room there was a strange stain on the floor that smelled awful. Rooms were extremely hot even though it’s winter. Showers never stayed warm, were either freezing or very hot. Towels smelled weird. If you need a place to sleep for a night or so and are looking to save money, maybe book this place. But if there’s a hotel with similar ratings around the same price, I’d try that one instead. Will not be staying here again. On the plus side, the staff were great!
Awesome
Very nice place
not bad, not good, ok hotel
It takes about 40 EU to get to the hotel from the airport, but you will be sharing with others in a van. This is ok and you will need to budget about 50EU just in case. Taxi to the Colosseum will be around 30EU.. The location of this hotel is fine and what you are paying for is good value for money. Would I stay here again, yes.
Bedroom and breakfast were good, and there was a great restaurant right across the hotel. But the bathroom needs to be improved alot. The water temperature wasn’t consistent, and the sink doesn’t have a drain cover.
Excellent
The hotel was good for us.Customer service was excellent.Ricardo was great. It is very close to the train station.I love everything about the hotel. They reserved taxi for us.They even went extra mile to pack two breakfast for us.Will definitely stay there again. Justice
The mattress was not nice need to be changed, the water was too hot and goes to cold, toilet was not flushing well.
Parking was the issue also Shower was plugged , overall was a OK to stay for couple nights . I should say a good 3.5 or 4 pretty much you get what you pay .
Room was small and the AC did not work for the 2 nights we were there. We complained about it and was given a fan and was told we could not move our room but then when we were checking out we were offered a room to change what a disaster sleeping in a very hot room. Why were we not offered the change of room until check out unbelievable
Clean, good beds, about a 15 minute walk from the subway line A so easy to reach by transport.
Very clean and close to downtown.
Good stay outside do Rome.
Nice breakfast and friendly staff
We were given a handicap room. The bathroom was deplorable. There was rust in the shower stall. The shower curtain was not clean. Full of dirt. The hardwood flooring in the bedroom had pieces missing. Couldn’t control the temperature in the room. That is not good for anyone much less handicap people.
Great place and friendly staff!
Very clean, spent a week here and was very happy with the location. Room was clean and larger than expected and there was a great balcony. About 15mins from most famous sites in Rome and very quiet and safe at night. Only thing that we did not like was the bathroom as it was small but other than that a great choice.
Nice place to stay, small price but a bit far for the historical area.
great
I’d have liked a coffee machine or a kettle in the room to have a warm drink in the evening.
It's nothing to write home about. Not even close to a 4 star place. Breakfast is meager and lame.
I liked the staff very helpful the rooms were okay the bed was not the most comfortable but we only stayed one night so it wasn't a big deal but the location the hotel is on is a very busy street too much noise cars driving by construction early in the morning. This woke me up several times. Breakfast waa very good I will say that.
Accessible to public transport and taxi. Close to the Vatican. Friendly staff. Breakfast buffet is adequate.
I had a very quick stay on my last night in Rome. It is fairly close to the Vatican Museum which was a factor in choosing this location. Overall the staff was very friendly and I think you get what you pay for as far as value.
Great place to stay for a night. We even had a balcony be ware only 5 parking spots in the building that need to be pre-reserved.
Just very slow and was bad communication
The location is very convenient, it is close both to the airport and the city center. Easy access to the center with direct buses (246/247). Friendly environment, clean rooms, great food. It has been a great experience staying at your hotel! Thank you!
Very nice hotel and friendly staff, we liked a lot the restaurant and its superb desserts. Hotel is new and rooms are well equipped.
Our hotel at Smooth Hotel was wonderful. The customer service was great! The room was simple, but clean. Breakfast is a traditional italian breakfast, but yummy. The hotel is a 30 min taxi from the airport, and a quick bus ride into Rome. The bus stop/metro station is very convenient and easy once you get the hang of it! The front desk was very helpful in explaining it to us! I would recommend staying here to anyone!
I thought the hotel was nice, clean, and the breakfast was great. It was a little further from the sites in Rome than advertised --not a deal breaker, but also not ideal.
The door doesn’t close properly, it took us a couple of minutes to get the door to close and lock. Probably needs to be replaced. Other than that. All looked good.
Top service!
Best service and lovely staffs! Just wanted to say thank you to the one who cleaned my room on April 18th!!! Left my wallet with all the money in there, came back with everything still there and a sparking clean room. Thank you for restoring the faith in humanity in me.
The hotel is not centrally located so we had to rely on buses luckily the bus stop is very close. We had to eat at the hotel restaurant once because the weather was bad. Do not have dinner there, it was disappointing. The breakfast was included and was fine it was a time and money saver. Across the street from the bus stop is a very good restaurant we ate there twice. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Ok ish
Mattress was to firm. However, exceptional service. Receptionists were very helpful. Breakfast OK comparem with other Italian hotels
Great experience. The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The bed was on the firm side but ok by me. Room on 1st floor was noisy due to lobby foot traffic. The breakfast buffet was out of this world! The shower temp varied but not a deal breaker.
The staff are excellent and is very close to the metro and bus stop
Amazing staff, Daily breakfast, closeness to Metro
Super nice and helpful staff! The rooms were clean!
Good one
The room was acceptable regarding clean but the bed was very small for 2 persons. The toilet was very clean and spacious Breakfast was deliscious Metro station is by walkable distance
A good choice
The toilet was very spacious and clean and the room itself was acceptable regarding cleaness but the bed was very small for 2 persons although we booked a room for two persons with a double bed .Breakfast was Delicious . Metro station is by walkable distance
Rude employees, unexpected fees, horrible breakfast (the same day after day)
We asked for two beds and only had one when we checked in. We were told it would be fixed when we got back the next day, it was not and when we asked the receptionist about ot he was defensive and had ua do it ourselves
We enjoyed our stay. Very clean and warm and friendly staff. The staff was also very helpful with directions and tips on where to go.
Nice hotel with friendly, helpful and professional staff who all speak English. The room was pretty clean and it is located just a moderately short walk from the metro and buses that link up with the city centre. However, the buffet breakfast is woefully inadequate for a four star hotel (also, I can never understand why hotels dont place a toaster next to the bread as those metal toasting rack machine things are just not up to the task of making simple toast in ample time). Nevertheless, considering the price, it is a generally good hotel and the world's best Chinese restaraunt is literally next door to it.
Nice hotel
The hotel is comfortable and new. We had a misunderstanding with the room type at our arrival but Alfredo took very good care of us and the staff is also very friendly. The breakfast is really worth it and the restaurant is open until 10.30 pm which is convenient if you like having late snacks. The hotel is a few minutes walk (7min) to the metro station (Cornelia) not far from the Vatican and easily accessible to the center. You can also take bus 246/247 in front of the hotel which brings you to the metro station in 3 min. From Cornelia station but 916 and 46 brings you to several places (Piazza Navona, Piazza Venezia, etc.) Also, I recommend using sitbusshuttle.com for your shuttle from the airport (FCO) to the hotel (via Aurelia 448). It is faster (20 min) and cheaper (6 euro) than the train. You can also book online for your trip.
Good value hotel with very helpful staff.
Great hotel with excellent breakfast. However it was quite a way out of centre of Rome which made sightseeing a bit more challenging. Some good local restaurants. Overall very good value for money.
Great Service & Staff
My wife and I spent a week in Rome at Smooth Rome West. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful in every way. The buffet breakfast was diverse with terrific selections. Not your typical American variety, but very tasty and filling. The staff was very helpful with advice and instructions to different sites we wanted to see while there. The main draw-back for this hotel is that it is not convenient to any usual tourist sites. It requires a taxi ride to most locations. With that said... We would definitely stay there again.
Nice hotel and very friendly and helpful staff
It was our first visit to Rome and we booked the hotel for three nights. I must say that I was very impressed with the quality of the breakfast in the mornings, the excellent service the staff offer and the cleanliness of the room. It has been a very nice experience and we really enjoyed our stay here.
A lovely weekend break
Rooms very comfortable with balcony and resident potted patio lemon tree. Good clean room and bathroom. The only let down was that there was no kettle to make a hot drink. Staff very friendly and able to offer advice re travelling to what you want to see. Very good breakfast included in the price too. Easy access to public transport to take you into the city. Bus stop just outside the hotel and Metro approx 15 minutes walk away We will certainly stay here again on our next trip to Rome.
Hotel is close to bus and subway stations to go to downtown Rome and attractions.Very close to Vatican City.
nice hotel
The included breakfast is awesome! There is enough choice to please everyone. Staff is very friendly and helpful. A few minutes walk from the metro and plenty of bus. Very clean room with air conditioning and comfortable bed but some of the furniture is in bad condition (damaged mirrors and bathroom door)
There were ants in the bathroom. Asked for laundry service, which never happened. Apart from these two disappointments the hotel was good
Very good hotel for the price
The staff were extremely helpful. Hotel was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was continental with hot bacon, scrambled eggs and sausage. Bedrooms were large with a large bathroom. Only downside was the location. A taxi into the town was just under 20 euros. But there are many bus stops close by. A few restaurants close by along with a small shop for snacks and drinks.
Clean, comfortable hotel
Had a 3 night stay here, and we would go back again. The staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was filling, and the room was very clean and comfy. I wouldn't recommend it for small kids though as it has a balcony and no pool. The hotel is a 10min walk to the metro station but is based on a busy road. Last thing- if you don't like the heat don't go in July, it was 39degrees in the city.
Great experience in an economical hotel
The staff was gracious and accomodating. The breakfast buffet was more then I expected. My single room was spacious and clean, with a nice bathroom and great water pressure (which was a concern before the trip),
Convenience of visiting tourist sites
We only had three days of a whistle stop tour of Roman sites of interest. Loved Vatican trip, museums., walking in historic streets. We managed to push a lot into the trip by buying an Omni ticket which provided us with entry to Vatican museums and historic sites we wanted to see, Tour bus, on/off excellent public transport of Metro and bus services. A great buy. Taxi waiting for us at airport and returned for us to hotel. Attractive restaurant across road from hotel. Beautiful Rome! Awesome visit!
Good hotel very easy to get to the city centre.
The staff were very helpful and the surroundings are good as you are away fron the city centre. Overall really enjoyable. Missing a restaurant for evening meals but a few nearby so no problem for evening meals. Would happily go back.
Very convenient if you need to be in that area
Nice, comfortable and warm room. Great breakfast buffet. Helpful staff. Walking distance to Cornelia metro station. There is a bus stop right outside too.
Close to Metro and Vatican
This is our second stay at this hotel. We rate is as excellent or would not have come back. Close to Metro and Vatican. Great restaurants in the area. Helpful staff, except the kitchen help who seemed a little put out when asked questions, ran out of items during the first hour of service. Other than that great hotel
Nice hotel but too far
When I saw other reviews that said it was too far and checked the distances, I thought I would give it a try anyway. My mistake. The problem is that taxis are too expensive and take you all around the place just to charge you more money, and there are not really friendly places to walk; the walk to the closest Metro station was 15 minutes. The room itself was not bad, it was clean, big enough and had a closet and safe. Beware of the tub, is high and a misstep could cause a fall. We had fun just watching the TV. I mean it, it was a small old 13 inch tube TV that had a trick to turn it on, and of course you could only get like 5 channels, all in Italian. As in Paris, no more scrambled eggs at breakfast if they were gone by the time you went to eat. At least breakfast was included in the room price. The receptionist was very kind and helped me give my sister directions for the bus from the airport so that she wouldn't have to pay the high taxi fee; he also told us how to get to the train station and gave us a map that was a lot of help. Ah, there is a Chinese restaurant a few steps from the hotel, really good food and very inexpensive.
good stay, but not great location
We didn't have such a great stay. The female receptionist wasn't too helpful. She made it seem like we were disturbing her anytime we asked a question. She wasn't very friendly. There was a male receptionist (mainly night duty), he was helpful. The hotel is ok. It is bit fat from the metro (about 10 to 15 minute walk). good value for money.
Nice play to stay
Lovely clean hotel - 10 min walk from Metro Station - 5 mins from Vatican, 15 to central rome. Not much around the hotel in terms of tourism - will have to venture to central rome, however nice break away from it all and not too far away. The only thing that would stop me from visiting this hotel again is no facilities on site ie bar / restaurant - but I guess its good to have to explore Rome for options!
It's far from everything . For sure its not nice.
They claim this hotel is a 4 star hotel I'll give them a 2 star. They have no ice. Only a few alcoholic beverages in only bar. They don't serve lunch or dinner. Dirty walls in bedroom. Fore sure not going back.
OK for sleeping
Hard bed. Very poor lighting in the room. I only chose this hotel because it was close to a conference in the Ergife Palace Hotel down the street. In that respect the comparative prices were fine, but this would never be a first choice hotel.
nice stay (couples from Slovakia)
Nice and cozy hotel with good location (10-15min walk from metro). Despite of busy road, in front of the hotel, room was quiet. Breakfast was good and staff friendly.
Nice hotel away from center of Rome
Hotel was as advertised, Friendly, helpful staff, near bus route and metro. Nice room/bath, not great to hang out in, but as our primary purpose was to see Rome, we did not spend a lot of down time there. Hot water in shower was iffy at times, and when you left the room the power secured so room was stuffy as AC did not run (We opened the balcony to quickly cool the room down). Room was clean, balcony was nice. Fair Value for the price. Would stay here again if I had business in the area.
worth the 100 euros a night
The breakfast was excellent with a nice variety to choose from. Our room was fine with a patio. The beds were a little too firm for me. The hotel looked to be taken care of well and clean. The staff were all very professional. I would have to say that it is located a 10-15 min walk from the closest metro station and to buses that go downtown which did get old after walking all day in Rome.
A very pleasant stay!
There were some beautiful days, in which we felt relaxed. Your hospitality was flawless and we thank you. I kept contact details and we would recommend our friends' and relatives when they come to Rome. When we come back, we will gladly reserve a room. Thank you for everything, Carmen Popa
Business Trip
Hotel Aureliano is a good hotel, while I stayed there I had no problems, it is relatively a short walk to Metro Line A Cornela. For me the location for my work was perfect, however if you wanted something closer to the city center it might not be the best choice if you dont like using the Metro, but a 10 minute walk to the Metro and 20 minute ride drops you off in Spanga. There was also a pretty good selection of restaurants a short walk away
worst nightmare
This hotel is on the main road, which means that there is a constant noise of heavy traffic all through the day and night. So much so that I couldn't even sleep in the night. it feels like you are sleeping on a footpath. hotel staff is very rude and unfriendly. basics like even an iron box is not available in the hotel. it is not a business hotel. imagine you going to meetings unslept, UN ironed clothes.
needs improvement
Noise can be heard from other room or corridor. Staff not very accommodating.
Pleasant Hotel out of Central Rome
I changed my original Expedia hotel booking after a number of negative comments online about my first, central, choice, so my wife and I were offered the Aureliano. We arrived at around 8pm and were met warmly at reception - check-in was easy and quick and we were given very clear information about local dining options as the hotel only offers breakfast. I had read that the hotel is located on a busy road out of Rome and asked in advance if we could be accommodated towards the rear of the hotel and this was provided, so we had a pleasant night's sleep each night. Breakfast was exactly the same contents each morning but that's often the case with buffet style breakfasts - we were perfectly satisfied with the combination of cereals, breads, fruit, cheeses and meats, the only issue being with the grill which despite experimentation never made toast quite to our satisfaction! I booked online to visit the Vatican Museum but there was a delay in receiving my tickets by email - the reception staff were very helpful in allowing me to print these. We realised that the journey back to the airport would be much easier all round by taxi and the hotel arranged a very luxurious car to take us in style for a very reasonable fixed price. With hindsight, however, as this was our first trip to Rome the distance of the hotel from the centre was something of an issue - each day started with a trip to the nearest Metro station to get to the places we wanted to visit.

The stay was fine , the hotel was ok it’s just a shame they do not offer tea and coffee in the rooms
