I stayed 5 nights at Smile Hotel Premium Osaka Hommachi. This hotel is conveniently located closed to 2 train stations serviced by Midosuji line and Sakaisuji line. Lots of dining options in the area. Walkable distance to Shinsaibashi and Dotonbori. Staff is courteous. Cleaning provided once during the stay; however garbage service and towel change provided daily.

Smaller room, pretty clean, quiet, trailer/camper style 'all-in-one' bathroom. Nothing remarkable or memorable. We just showered and crashed. Out the next day.

I recently had a fantastic 2 night stay at Smile Hotel Premium Osaka Hommachi. From start to finish, the experience exceeded my expectations. The staff were absolutely incredible always pleasant, helpful, and genuinely invested in making my stay enjoyable. They went out of their way to provide shopping suggestions and directions, which made exploring the area so much easier. The hotel itself was spotless, with clean and well maintained rooms that were both comfortable and inviting. What truly stood out was the team's willingness to go above and beyond. On my last day, my luggage zipper broke, and the staff kindly assisted in fixing it, saving me from a major hassle of havingto purchase another bag. Thank you to the amazing team at this hotel for making my stay so memorable. I’ll definitely be returning the next time I’m in Osaka! Highly recommend!

Good enough

Not quite as expected...

Extremely strict with times. Poor communication but can manage. Very clean room, not exactly as described but near enough.

This is the best place for any tourist to stay!! Everything is close by and there’s a 711 less than a 1 minute for the hotel!

Best value in Osaka, hands down. I’ve looked up about 130 properties before picking this one on your site. $65 per night with this quality of service is unbeatable in this city. Location is great too. You are in a very lively neighborhood yet right off the craziness. Highly recommend for anyone that want the most out of their money.

Great location with reasonable room rate! Highly recommended

Stayed here in October 2024. The staff were very friendly and the hotel had a very convenient location to the main shopping strip and lots of restaurants. I had no problems being an english speaker here. The pillows left something to be desired but the bed and room were comfortable overall (not huge but that is typical for the area). Water pressure in the shower was also excellent and did not have any problems with hot water.

Wonderful location ! Nice and quite but a few minutes from the shopping district.

This place provided everything that we needed for a place to sleep. I would recommend to take the breakfast option if you are going to wake up early and you are looking for some options to eat before leaving for your days and you don't want to eat stuffs from convenience stores all the time. The breakfast was offering a nice variety of different type of cuisines. The staff is really nice and respectful.

Hotel is close to subways and train stations. Walking distance to shopping and dining at Dotonbori area and Shinsaibashi. Hotel is in a quiet area with comfortable beds.

Love that it is so close to shinbaibashi and dotonbori very convenient with subways so close. So many food options near by and lots of places to shop.

Comfortable and very clean. Everything was as promised or viewed on Expedia. Nothing to complain about at all. Room was a little warm on arrival. Tried to adjust but difficult to see it working. The area is convenient to a lot of dining options, grocery stores and shops. Staff are mostly friendly. Hotel provides unlimited toiletries. However, they do not clean the room daily. Leaving us with a collection of trash. Overall it was a a great place to stay.

The hotel is okay, with modern rooms and a modern building too, but the cleaning system needs improvement. They clean every 3 days and if you’re in the room at the day of cleaning, they never return. The reception staff its like invisible. They are not friendly, only the men greet you. The elevators smell and have trash on the floor. The location is excellent. With better service and cleanliness it could be a great hotel.

Had a fantastic stay at the smile hotel. We actually made a mistake in our booking, and the team did an amazing job of fixing it and finding a solution for us. Thank you for an amazing stay!!! Oh, and the deserts in the breakfast buffet are worth the price of entry alone!

The hotel is located conveniently within short walking to Dotonburi, as well as Umeda. This is very good for business, and nightlife, yet the area around the hotel is not loud or energetic, which means you can have a peaceful night. Also many shops, and restaurant around, including a 24HR cafe, and 24HR supermarket.

Great little staycation

Was looking for an inexpensive last minute stay while in downtown Osaka, and found this gem. Front desk service was friendly and nice, even with my lack of Japanese. The A/C made the entire stay comfortable, from the moment we walked in, the 7th floor room had easy access to the ice and vending machine (not on every floor), and the room was fantastic. Small but everything we needed. The free WiFi was fast and easy to connect to. The bathroom was clean and roomy. I’ve hit my head on some of the smaller shower ceilings, but not here. Basically everything was perfect for a one night stay. My only problem was that I would have liked two pillows instead of one, but I understand this is not common for Japanese hotels, and I probably could have gotten an extra one had I asked, but it wasn’t a huge deal. Walking distance to Dotonbori, where we got the best ramen I’ve ever had at Hanamaruken.

A great traveler's hotel at a great price.

Love this hotel. My family and I stayed there for 3 nights. Location is excellent. Within 5 minutes walk from Shinseibashi. Lots of good shops and restaurants nearby. The staff is very friendly, courteous, and eager to help. Kang helped us at the front desk several times and she is an angel! Her ankle was in pain but nonethless she was very patient with us helping us move our heavy luggages. The rooms were clean, comfortable and more than adequate. There were many outlets for charging electronic devices. The breakfast buffett has lots of choices. The food was good and the price was very reasonable. Overall, if you are just looking a clean, nice place to stay at a budget price, I highly recommend it.

We reckon for a budget hotel, it has more space than the ones in Tokyo. We managed to have 2 medium size bags open and still have enough space to walk. The location is great as it’s only minutes walk to the shopping areas and Dotonbori. The only feedback We would give to the hotel is to reduce the amount of air fresher in the lifts as it’s over powering for the senses. Otherwise, for the price we felt is great value.

I was surprised about how big our room was! The room was so clean and the staff were excellent! I would definitely book at this hotel again when I visit Osaka! There's also a lot of good places like restaurants near by!

Good services. Housekeeping services are excellence, providing amenities and clean towels, were left outside wrapped tidily in plastic bags, even on the day we had "Do Not Disturb" sign.

Convineant location to shopping mall and subway

Great overall classy feel for the hotel. Bathrooms felt clean. Room was small as expected but it wasn’t as classy as the exterior, lobby, corridors etc. location was decent. Was able to walk to all the restaurants and night life (10-20 min). Considering the low price paid (around six-ty USD) it was a steal. The amenities like razors, toothbrushes etc were high quality and worked well. Would stay again.

Good location and nice service. The room is very nice as expected but no free bottled water which is unusual. But all in all would love to stay again.

Good for a night or two

Hotel and staff were great. Only issue was the location isn’t super convenient (not their fault but lugging bags from the metro isn’t the easiest). Also, it lacks a little charm but this was offset by the charming staff that work there. You can leave luggage there on departure days if you need to.

No hairdryer? Yes, just look for it!

This is a lovely new boutique hotel, the staff were very helpful and we had a lovely stay. The room was well equipped and quite big, but you may have to search for the hairdryer, we thought there wasn't one until the last day when we found it hiding in a drawer above the refrigerator. The area around is full of little restaurants and it is about a 15 minute walk to Dotonbori. A short walk to two train stations as well to get you almost everywhere. Great fun.

Great location and friendly staff. It was really easy to get around to shopping area and Kuromon market. Room was spacious enough for our luggages. Highly recommend this hotel!

I am not totally satisfied :- 1) the charge of my room is for 2 days/1 night, but the hotel's check-in time is as late as 3:00 pm, and the check-out time is as early as 10:00 am. Its so inconvienient as most hotels' check-in/check-out time is 2:00 pm/11:00 am which is far more relaxing. 2) pl let me know why there is 5 hrs gap in between. 3) the hotel is at the heart of Shinsaibashi/Namba of Osaka, communication with foreign language to clients/visitors such as simple English is a must, more training and enhancement is critical necessary, especially in the capacity of Hotel Manager. 4) the front desk crew and cleansing staff are so good, courteous, and well trained. 5) please let me have a reply in due course.

A Breeze in Osaka!

It was a comfortable and convenient stay, as it is situated in a quiet street yet very near all the things you would ask for!

The evening staff couldn’t understand English well we, but the room is big with Japanese standard. The breakfast buffet is ok.

It is a very clean hotel with many good amenities. The staff were helpful and speak good English. It will be best to check out at 11:00 instead of 10:30.

I was disappointed with this hotel. We arrived early & understood that we wouldn’t’t be able to check in early but wanted to leave our luggage there so we could spend our day exploring Osaka, I found the staff hard to communicate with and very unfriendly. We arrived back at 2.45pm as check in was at 3pm to see if we could check in, we were told to wait just back there as check in wasn’t until 3pm. Come on! We were there put in a smoking room as non smokers which was disgusting. Overall a disappointing stay.

Room is small (expected), clean, relatively new and quiet. Hotel is close to train station, eateries and places I needed to get to. Staff are friendly and helpful.

New and nice hotel

Everything was very good esp. their service. They even provided us rope and tape for our extra luggages/ boxes. The hotel is new and really nice. It is near a train station w/c has an underground mall.

It’s a fairly new, extremely clean hotel about 10-15 walk from Dotombori. Perfect if you’re traveling for business alone or for 1-2 nights. The rooms and bathroom are small so it might feel tight if you stay a long time. Price is perfect so all in all an excellent choice

Location was great - walkable to everything Room size was very good for the price Bed was a little uncomfortable and wish they had extra pillows.

Great staff and new accommodations

Hotel staff was excellent. Extremely helpful. They helped us try to send our luggage to the Kansai airport, but when they found out we missed the deadline, went out of their way to figure out the best and most economical way to get us and all our boxes and bags safely to the airport.

Very nice hotel and great value, location is a bit quiet but still plenty of cafe/bars/restaurant in the area and only 10 min walk to a shopping street with heaps of options. Hotel is new and in fantastic condition, staff offer very good service and speak English

its location to the subways & malls or shopping & food was great... staff was really freindly rooms was real good, the dining/breakfast room was nice , only downside was that the food was not kept covered so was lukewarm/ cold at times unless it was fresh from the kitchen, but really nice staff..... a really nice hotel i would stay at again...

This is a relatively new hotel so our room was clean and comfortable. Location was alright but had to walk for abit to get to Dotonburi. Next time would book a hotel abit closer. But overall, the hotel was quite good.

Easy to find the hotel after exiting from Nagahoribashi Station exit 2B. But take note it’s stairs exit out from station. Turn right and cross 3 junctions before reaching the hotel. Staff is friendly and polite; hotel looks new and seems like 4-star hotel - worth the money paid. However, note that they don’t provide bottled waters nor water dispenser for refill. Hotel room is considered big as compared to japan standard. Toiletries also provided. Walking distance to Shinsaibashi - and I’ve walked to Nippombashi and Namba from hotel. Only takes about 20mins. Lots of eateries and a 24-hour supermarket nearby. Overall highly recommended and will be back to stay when in Osaka.

Excellent location and value for money.

The hotel policy was not reasonable. The check in time was 3pm. I arrived at the hotel at 10am. And I am traveling with my friends who checked in a day before and have 2 rooms. I have booked 2 rooms for my family as well. All I wanted was leave my luggages in my friend’s room and rest a little bit. The hotel staffs didn’t let me go to my friend’s room and saying that their hotel policy. I could understand if a non guest going up to the room but knowing I am checking in in a few hours and not letting me go up is not making any sense. This will be my last time booking this hotel chain.
