Nice resort near snorkeling deck

Resort is at a very nice location, near the snorkeling deck. Friendly stuff willing to help. Property is under renovation and also a mile away from marina shopping area. The suite is spacious and well furnished.

This is the second time I have bed. Here. We love it. Although there are massive renovations this did not spoil our stay, and when they are finished it will be outstanding. All staff are superb and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble.

Property is undergoing substantial renovations - we changed to a redone room after day 1 which was a great improvement. The setting is excellent - we've stayed a number of times before

Amazing stay :)

Definitely it is one of our best vacation spot from many places we visited. No humidity, no mosquitoes, good service and good food. Staff was very friendly, helpful and trying to please in every turn. The beach is clean and sandy. The sea is slightly cool (it was early April) when you enter but very nice afterwards. The weather was between 76 -82 around the clock! Some areas of the building are showing their ages. But still well maintained. The food was plenty and very tasty. Attention to details was very noticeable. How can you beat such a place 🙏🐟👋🥰 We are planning to come again for sure!👍👍👍👍🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️

We had one full day no hot water. No one came even after repeated calls. Yaseer in dinning supervisor was great.

The setting is magical. The hotel looks tired and needs refreshing. Management staff and housekeeping were excellent Restaurants staff, especially at breakfast, were not so good. They are under the impression that good service is being obsequious when they are actually ineffective.

I stayed in Sheraton Soma Bay 6 years ago and I was not impressed with the food and buffet. But this time its a totally different story. The buffet was fantastic and the service was amazing . Special thanks to the room attended Mohamed . Special thank you for Yasser "restaurants manager" he answered my questions . And most importantly to assistant Manager Monssef , he was very accommodating in all our requests. Mr. Monssef went over and above and made us feel welcomed .

I had a great experience about this hotel 3 years ago when I stayed there am not sure if management changed?! I recommended the hotel to my niece that was celebrating her honeymoon she just got married two weeks ago and that was my gift for her. I live in US and used my credit card for the payment I could easy dispute the charges however it is not my way. Unfortunately she complained about her stay and quality of the food even she complained to front desk who couldn’t help or at least offer to upgrade her room as kind of compensation . It is basic customer service. I thought it is better to write directly to the hotel instead of leaving bad reviews on trip advisor…etc looking forward to hear from the management

Over Crowded

Not too good experience this visit despite having better experiences before. Hotel overcrowded with no sufficient staff to serve specially on the beach & inside the restaurant.

The design of the hotel is unique, in the form of a beautiful pharaonic temple, with a private beach. Hotel staff are very helpful and always smiling. Restaurant Abidos serves delicious meals. you have to book the All inclusive option as there aren't many option outside the hotel. The hotel was crowded with many local guests, and probably selling its rooms cheaper by far to accommodate employees of companies or unions, which is not an advantage at all for the rest of the guests coming from outside Egypt.

Not a 5 star!

The hotel is old yet clean. The rooms are basic with no toiletries except for shampoo, shower gel, and conditioner. The hotel is on z bay, the beach is beautiful and there are some corals nearby for snorkeling We were on half board basis. The open buffet breakfast was very good, dinner was quite bad as the food was mostly tasteless. All in all, not a 5 star hotel, maybe 3.5 at the most. Sheraton needs to do some major work if they want to sell this as a 5 star hotel.

The architecture of the hotel is stunning, it adds to the feeling of exclusivity when staying in the hotel. The facilities are well kept and clean. One of the advantages is advantage is the proximity to the jetty that leads to a coral reef. There are several criticisms. Although there is plenty of staff in the restaurant, very few of them seem to speak English, German or Russian. One more criticism is regarding an entertainment program, which could be drastically improved. The only show (a folk show) that was planned took place in a cafe that was difficult to find.

Very nice beach

I can’t say enough good things about Sheraton Soma Bay. To start off with, the location couldn’t get better, right on the clear blue waters of the Red Sea, in an extremely serene area, perfect for a vacation in paradise. The hotel itself is beautiful and sparkling clean with great food. However, the thing that really stands out is the outstanding service and kind staff. They take really good care of you and whatever you need. Make sure to ask for Taha at the outside bar and Ibrahim at the restaurant. Honestly, I don’t want to single anyone out cause there isn’t a single person I didn’t absolutely love! Their personal driver, Ahmed, who picks you up from the airport is an absolute angel and all the front desk staff are incredible! Don’t think twice about this and book your stay instantly!

Great facility and helpful staff the location is fantastic

Very nice property with very nice beach. Staff were nice ,friendly and want to help and that can be seen with Mohammed at the front disk. Restaurants were good and they serve fresh seafood 😋. Rooms were nice and ok but they need renovation because they are old.

A fantastic stay at this beautiful resort 😍 Very clean, strict covid compliance 10/10 Massive thanks to all the staff, particularly to Taher and Taha @Beach Bar, Ramy at the Lobby Bar and Hisham for looking after my room. One downside are the shops in the hotel lobby selling fake handbags and watches and trying to charge €30 for aftersun lotion.....best stick to the supermarket at the marina. Overall a great resort Looking forward to coming back !

Renovation would make it a good hotel resort

We appreciate the hotel management system if something was wrong specially in service they tried to make it good. Friendly staff, Breakfast is good. Food is good in Fish restaurant. Buffet was not really convincing. We enjoyed the seaview in our balcony room. Room was cleaned but the condition of our room specially the bathroom is very old, we were not happy there were red molds in the bathroom. Coral reef for snorkling is 400meters away. Bike rental 100 meters away. If the condition of the room is not bad as we had, we would come back . Its a nice hotel resort for a family.

The hotel was perfect. All the staff were super friendly. The beach was great. So was the pool. And the gym was also nice and convenient.

Cleaners, Sayed and Mohammed are excellent. Hamada in lobby bar was very cheerful and efficient in every way . Reception and check in desk staff very helpful. Waiters in dinning room made meal times a real pleasure. And chefs deserve a five star too. All in all a lovely week. Would love to return.

Beautiful with a couple downfalls...

Beautiful resort! Service and staff were wonderful! Clean, large beach with lots of water sports to enjoy! Only complaints...you do not experience Egypt, you are will all tourists. Also, you are sort of trapped on the resort, it’s far from any city and hard to travel around.

The location is fabulous. The food is great. Front desk very cooperative. The building design and interior decoration is beautiful.

Food quality is very poor , we were a group of 17 people staying for 5 days most of us got diarrhea several times They sell you all inclusive and every food point defines it differently allowing products others font allow Discussion with management team was getting to an agreement then they contact the service point asking them not to honor their agreement. Very poor Managment

Value for money

Overall is ok, good value for money. Staff is really helpful and rooms are good as well, just needs some renovation but nothing major. Food is average but good enough to get you full. My only advice is to make sure everything you needed is present and don’t be hesitant to double check with everyone there if they have accommodated your requests (or even ask again) whether it was food/drink, activity or a trip! We had a bit of situation with some activities due to employees not really paying attention.

Amazing beach, good food, nice location but far from outing or services, kind and helpful stuff, spacious rooms and very clean, the property is old but still in good shape! The only thing I didn’t like they charge you for everything (ice for example) which is not usual in 5 stars hotel! The water bottles are expensive and they know that because of the location!!

It is very spacious and good for relaxing. The beach is spectacular. I really liked the cleaning staff too. The lady who cleaned our room was very friendly.

Beautiful resort, cockroaches in room and all over lobby. Told front desk as there was a cockroach crawling in front and staff did nothing about it!

Best hotel in Soma Bay in our opinion. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We were Bed and breakfast only and preferred to eat a la carte or in Sea View restaurant, especially at lunchtime as we found the buffet quality was not good enough. Breakfast however was exceptional and was our favourite meal of the day.

Soma bay

Soma bay is lovely. But we stayed 7 nights and it got a bit repetitive . There is not enough to do ie very poor choice of restaurants . And 7 nights of hotel food will drive you insane

Place wonderful, the sea and the beach is fantastic! Expecting more from sheraton. Food avarage and repetitive. Pool not heated and was very hard swimm given also the sea was cold too.

Gorgeous hotel

This hotel is lovely - nice pool, grounds, foyer is wow. The staff service is not up to the same standard as the physical presence of the hotel. Reception staff could be more efficient, helpful and friendly.

Nice resort with nice private beach

Would definitely recommend staying at this resort. Keep in mind you pretty much are tied to eating at the hotel all day (no walking distance restaurants, although you can walk to other resorts that are close by), food is very good so no issues. Only issues I had was that my shower temperature was temperamental, cold to luke warm at best. Also, beach service is not the best. Servers prefer to hang around by the bar doing nothing.

A nice hotel at a perfect area with so friendly staff and animation team. slice expensive but worth the experience. clean best beach ever. a nearby supermarket and few nice night spots. I don't know what else to say as more than thousand characters is much but the place is worth trying to submit a good review for. there are other very nice hotels like robinson and kempinsky but the sheraton has the widest beach as far as i noticed. The following is for Expedia. Guys You have to make the acceptable work count less as no one has enough time to write thousand words. u summary would say it all and could be more than enough. cause the ones who will write sucha a long review whether had terrible experience and will insist to write a bad review or had a great one and have the passion to write a good review. You need to give area for normal ones who wouldn't invest such time nor effort to writhe thousands of words.And this proofs my point that after all what I have written, it ain't enough to accept the review and I still have to write more and more just to have it accepted. This is very hard and inapplicable for so most of the people to do such effort to rate a hotel. who cares, except the above mentioned ones. Anyway the conclusion is that the Sheraton and Soma Bay are one of my greatest life experiences. I had nice short stay at your resort but was a surprising that the service I had from first empression by the security guard wasn't pleasant, and the pool attend staff they should be more care about the guest to help them out for towel and opening an parasaul but seems help your self part of that everything it's good .

Excellent, once we got a room as ordered.

We had booked and paid for a non smoking king deluxe with full sea view. We took the 5th room we were shown having rejected those with either partial sea view or the only one with a full sea view which reeked of smoke. We ended up with a really nice room but not really full sea view, but compensated with view of garden and pool. This despite the hotel being well less than half full. That being said, all the staff were excellent during our stay and could not have been more helpful. We had a great time! Not that much to do if you are staying for a long period though unless you play golf - excellent course.

Nice hotel. Quiet, Over 50+ mostly and expensive

Lovely pool. And breakfast by the pool pool was the best part of the day. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Soma Bay resort has 5 hotels and free shuttle between resorts so you can dine around. Sheraton, is a nice hotel but was very quiet. I was told mostly people above 40-50+ stay here as it is quiet and tranquil. I'm 30 and went with baby and wife. It was great for us as we used pool, each time with no one in it. Hotel was only at 30% capacity. The negatives for me were: we didn't get all inclusive so we thought we would dine around but most restaurant in the other resorts are not open only the buffet is for for the all inclusive people. And the price for most of the different buffets averaged about 40 euro per person. Which we thought for Egypt is a bit over priced. But here is is the problem, you have to eat in one of these resorts as nothing but desert surrounding you and as all 5 resorts owned by same company they can run a monopoly. No taxi come here. Hotel can arrange there own driver for about 80 euros or bus shuttle at 15 euros per person. We went into town hurghada. And then used local taxi and they charge about 3 euros. Then we went to lovely restaurant and whole family ate and it cost 8 euro total. So you can see the price difference for the same country. Other than that if you you're looking for a quite holiday with lovely pool and beach soma Bay is the place. And there are lots of activities from each resort.

The Sheraton soma bay is a great hotel with a proper sandy beach and proper 5* quality.

GREAT PLACE

Soma Bay has a great location with a beautiful lagoon.Sheraton is a very good hotel with large rooms, food is excellent. It is getting a bit old at some places (pools) but it remains an excellent hotel with a lot of activities. We were totally satisfied and should return there in the coming years.

As I had a special rate the cost-value-ratio was unbeatable. Without having this I would say: over all very good but small things which should ne improved to be really top class. Nice location but of course in the desert with nothing around than the Red Sea, a golf court and some other hotels.

Sheraton Soma Bay

Our family visited for a five day vacation from the chaos of Cairo. It was a wonderful stay with friendly staff and tons for the family to do. They had snorkeling, glass bottom boats, pristine waters, an excellent swimming pool, activities every night, an amazing massage experience at their spa... we could go on and on. We will be visiting againin the future. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend in Soma Bay at the Sheraton.

Superb Holiday

Stunning hotel and helpful staff although has the slightly impersional feeling of a large multi national hotel chain. Definitely worth paying extra for a sea view room as the view is magical. Breakfast buffet is fantastic. They do a great smoked salmon eggs benedict! Food in the restaurants is expensive. Evening buffet is €40 for all you can eat 3 courses but you can actually just have 1 or 2 courses which is cheaper although this is not advertised. Strangley the a la carte menu is quite reasonable. Room service is fast and cheap. Still and sparkling mineral water is completely free all day which is lovely. Breakers Hotel next door does a delicious buffet, 3 courses for €25 but you have to pay for water there. Soma Bay is a very secluded unspoilt resort of only 4 hotels, a golf course and a small marina for dive boats. Guests when we stayed were mostly retired Europeans playing golf. You certainly escape from the hassle of haggling traders here. The hotel transfer was €40 and was excellent. It's a 45 min drive from the airport. The hotel rep met us straight off the plane with visas and saved us queuing like everyone else. There is a super beach and diving or snorkelling on the house reef with Orca Dive Centre is first rate. We saw turtles, moray eels, lion fish, all a short swim from the Maldives-style jetty. Dive boats leave twice daily from the marina to other reefs. All in all a wonderful holiday.

A relaxing getaway

Hotel staff was extremely polite, helpful and friendly. Food was not good all the time. Perfect location for a true relaxing vacation away from noise and night life is quite limited.

Good home reef

Real problem: communications - wifi internet connection does not reach all hotel areas nor even all rooms. GSM/GPRS mobile phone connection is weak

This hotel should have closed for the renovations and reopen after. - pool not heated or just by the sun - most waiters in the diner restaurant are stressed and unfriendly - reception of this Sheraton is complicated, was unable to accept a 20 euro note with a little cut to settle a 3 euro balance (They also don’t accept coins) - many personal eat also at the diner restaurant - generally fairly lazy employees except a few who work a lot Surprise that a Sheraton could be like that! I don’t had a feeling of the American management (maybe it’s a franchised hotel)

Wir hatten eine Seniorsuite mit 79 m2 war super👌 Am Meer war alles tiptop. Nur der Service war mittelmessig in den Restaurants. Unkontrolliertes abräumen bevor mann fertig gegessen hat. Ideale Familienhotel😊

Ich wurde noch nie so gut behandelt als Allergiker. Jeden Abend wurde mir das Buffet erklärt und auf Wunsch spezielle Gerichte zubereitet. Auch ansonsten unglaublich professionelles und liebevoll freundschaftliches Personal, zu dem wir hoffentlich den Kontakt behalten können. Speziell hervorheben möchten wir einige Personen: Chefkoch Rafik Ali Alle weiteren Chefkochs Chef de Service Barman Ahmed Rashad Lifeguard Ahmed Sayed Barbary Mohammed Fathiy vom Team Housekeeping Dies sind nicht weniger als Freunde für uns nach nur einer Woche, wir wurden noch selten so gut behandelt. Auch sonst bekommt man von allen Angestellten immer ein Lächeln und freundliche Worte. Wann immer es Reklamationen von anderen Gästen gab, hatten wir das Gefühl, dass eher der Gast das Problem ist. Die Angestellten sind super geschult und lesen einem jeden Wunsch von den Lippen ab! Vielen Dank für diese Erfahrung. Bitte dem Hotel mitteilen.

Sehr perfekt und entspannt.

Un complexe assez grand mais avec beaucoup d'espaces. Hors saison tres agréable, peut-être chargé en saison. Situé dans une zone très securisée, de jour comme de nuit, l'accès à la zone de Soma Bay est fermé par des gardes. Notre chambre était agréable avec tout le confort nécessaire (literie excellente) peut-être un peu "old school" mais rien à redire. L'accès à la plage est immédiat et 5 minutes de marche permettent de rejoindre "the jetty" et de faire du snorkeling à l'intérieur du lagon ou juste à son bord extérieur sans accompagnement. Coraux et poissons variés et magnifiques, eau très claire. Côté nourriture, pour un français ça mérite encore un peu de progrès mais on trouve toujours quelque chose à manger de local et bon. Animation disponible mais non utilisée et pas gênante. En bref, un super lieu pour un séjour calme et reposant.

Insgesamt akzeptable - das Fitness center ist nur ein Raum und lässt zu wünschen übrig. Personal, Strand und Buffets sind sehr gut. Wlan war grösstenteils nur schwer und über IT Support machbar - nicht zufriedenstellend !

Zu Beginn unseres Aufenthaltes hatten wir uns mehrmals über Wassereinbruch in unserem Zimmer beschwert. Nach der vierten Rückmeldung konnten wir für die letzten zwei Nächte in ein anderes Zimmer umziehen. Es wurde uns sogar eine Suite zur Verfügung gestellt, was sehr nett war. Wir hatten einen super Aufenthalt. Personal, Essen, Anlage und Umgebung waren super. Gewünscht hätten wir uns, dass man unser Anliegen, mit dem Wasser im Zimmer, schon bei der ersten Rückmeldung ernst genommen hätte. Lediglich der Umzug in ein anderes Standard Zimmer hätte uns schon gereicht. Vielen Dank auch für die Rückmeldung auf mein letztes Feedback, was ich über ebookers.ch abgegeben habe. Wir hatten einen super Urlaub. Danke

Personal allesamt super freundlich und hilfsbereit, Essen war immer gut und es gab genügend Auswahl um immer etwas zu finden was einem schmeckte.

Positiv: Angenehmes Ambiente, freundliches Personal, schöner Strand, grosses Zimmer. Negativ: Fitnesstudio veraltet und wenig abendliche Animation/Aktivität.

C'est beau, c'est un palais. Le personnel très gentils. C'est tres bon, et de grande qualite.

Plage magnifique ainsi que l'aménagement de la pisine et autour de la piscine. Bons buffets. Très bruyant le soir lors des 6 jours de séminaire (musique très forte et certains participants sont restés dans le jardin jusqu'à 3h. du matin en criant, rigolant ou parlant très fort entre eux ... )

Great location, beach and views, stunning reef nearby. Friendly staff. But: the hotel is getting seriously run-down, and seems to cater for families and groups. Not representative for a Sheraton, as it lacks the premium-feeling. Worst was the Spa, with rather annoying sales people, continuously going around the beach, and overselling their product. We booked 2 massages, the first was good, but for the 2nd, once they knew was our last, the staff was desinterested and gave a poor quality. Combined with prices on European level it gave me a bad taste in my mouth, again not fitting the premium of Sheraton. But, we had a very nice holiday, so I do not want to complain too much...

Piscine un peu fraîche pour le mois de février, à l'aqua splach l'eau est glacée. Tarif de taxi très élevé pour rejoigne Safaga. Proche centre de plongé. Plage très bien et propre. Chambre très propre.

Bad sehr abgewohnt, Leitungen unter Waschbecken im schlechten Zustand. Sauna nicht ausreichend als Spa. Kaum Abendunterhaltung.

At the beginning of our stay, I had some unpleasant experiences with the attitude of the restaurant personnel. If you are half board then dinner is included. I caught some of the wait staff treating me without joy and respect once they found out that I would be ordering from the set menu and not from then menu card. I had to complain to the food and beverage manager personally to finally be treated with respect. The menu isn’t free, I just paid for it in advance! Otherwise I had a pleasant stay. Location is great for scuba diving. Cleaning staff is honest. I left some valuables out a few times by mistake and everything was left where I had it. The gym was a disappointment and needs a renovation fast.

Hotel ist in die Jahre gekommen. Das sieht man an den Möbeln und auch das Bad sieht nich.t mehr so gut aus in den Ecken und unter dem Waschtisch. Nein man muss Ich nicht extra bücken um das zu sehen. Personal ist professio ell freundlich.
