Holiday at Shetaton

We were expecting a lot of more from a Sheraton... Our time was good thanks to the staff, since the facilities are not at the best shape. The buffet is in general just average, despite having paid the "all inclusive" no many options. It is questionable for a big brand name, still being using single-use plastic, specially for cutlery at the restaurant and at the beach, when there are many eco-friendly alternatives.

Taxi service is a scam from front desk and bell hops. I had to call the manager Waheed to get a regular taxi which only costs 400 EGP compared to the scam of no taxis available so must take limousine for 1000 EGP. How can a Sheraton not have available taxis?

The hotel is aged and short staffed. Beware of the 3rd party taxi service in the hotel - outright con artists. The hotel rooms are spacious albeit the bathrooms outdated.

В целом всё понравилось. Большой чистый пляж. Большая территория. Есть проминад вдоль моря. Хороший кораловый риф. Спокойное море благодаря заливу. Неделей ранее останавливались в Grand Plaza так там давали заходить в море только после 15:00 из-за высоких волн. Чистые номера, но старая мебель, продавленый матрас. Все двери скрипят. Дверь в ванну раздвижная без ручек и по этому тяжело открывать. Большой балкон с прямым видом на море и завораживающий рассвет. Быстрое обслуживание номера. Сразу после звонка нам приносили всё в номер. Вкусное и разнообразное питание. Есть часы когда ресторан перегружен и не хватает свободных столов. Официанты долго подают напитки , путают или забывают принести. На всех барах в отеле делают не вкусные коктели, пиво не достаточно холодное, белое вино отвратительное. На территории отеля открыты 3 бассейна, чистка которых выполняется во время купания. Я плавал в бассейне возле diving clab и его пылесосили в 11:00,что очень мешало плавать. Анимация скучгая. Подводя итог хотел бы отметить, что общая оценка на Hotels.com занижена .

Got scammed by a hotel employee

The stay was perfect, until I was sitting on the beach and I got solicited by a hotel employee for a speed boat ride, I saw the offer, liked it paid for it, it was scheduled to go 10 AM the next day, however no one was there to pick me up, done endless phone calls still no response I went to the hotel reception to make a complaint they verified the person who took my money works for a company affiliated with the hotel, and they gave me the phone number for the company manager, he was so nice and he said he’ll send it over through any mobile carrier cash wallet, I didn’t have one at a time, so I told them I’ll call you when I get home so I did, everytime I call him he says he’ll send it within 5 minutes and he never do. Just got sick of it.

My stay at the Sheraton in Sharm was one of the most rewarding and wonderful hotel stays I’ve experienced. The staff are so friendly and want to serve to make sure one is completely comfortable. They were very polite and well trained for customer service. The hotel’s location is perfect to experience the relaxed surroundings and beautiful sunrises. I recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to enjoy their stay in Sharm and get the most out of the best Red sea view.

Not good: cockroach in the room, dirty pool with stains, unprofessional staff, very bad & tasteless food. Overrated price compared to the price and to other 5 star hotels in the area. Good: room was comfortable, beach was good for snorkeling.

From checking in to my 3 days that Felt one day due to the fact enjoying my time at the property to finally checking out it was nothing but perfection

GOOD: Breakfast was good (perhaps the only thing I like there). NOT GOOD: Well to start with, the room were in bad shape & very old. The room doors were getting stuck on the floor. In one room, there was no heating & when I asked for it, they bought an electric heater which was as good as nothing. Some lights in the room were not working. There is also no shuttle between the hotel & Naima bay (considering that its in a isolated area, I would highly recommend that the hotel needs to arrange this). Also, in the other hotels I stayed before, both were providing free shuttle bus to Naima bay.

The location was amazing, sea view is brilliant and panoramic (from room 542) the dock was amazing, and many colorful fish swimming with you by the shore. Great for kids, but we didn’t bring ours, lol. Restaurant was massive, but I wouldn’t say the buffet was the tastiest, it was alright I would go to this resort again, if they could control the scantily dressed women coming to the restaurant forgetting to wear pants! It was just too much information for me......

It was really good experience to have this place .

Beautiful place

It was my big mistake to arrange a hotel reservation through hotels.com. Will never never do it again. Somehow, I have made a mistake through the system by choosing a sheraton hotel in Egypt instead of Batumi. I immediately realized my mistake and requested hotels.com by a number of emails to change the hotel in Batumi, they didnt do anything, didnt help. They didnt return any penny to me.

It's very nice hotel with good value

Property looks run down . Not taken care of. Many areas aren't used because of this . Looks old. Furniture is not modern. Bathroom had mold and broken pieces in different areas of it. Roof looked like it had a leak before. View was nice and so was the pool. Reception guy was very informative . Made me feel welcomed. Breakfast could have been better. Not sure why they do omelettes outside . Had no idea this was available until I asked and then didn't feel like moving all my food outside.

Too old fashioned and hidden charges like a so called upgrade from the villa to the main hotel. I was made to pay additional $40 for two nights. I felt that was unfair because I was only given a choice of room and not villa or main building.

the hotel is near the airport but a bit far from main attractions, it would be nice to have shuttle service to the 2 main attractions Nema Bay and Soho square specially that the transportation service provided by third party agency in the hotel is the most expensive in Sharm El-Sheikh. the food quality is accepted and the staff working in the restaurant are so nice. the view, the beach and the freindly staff are more than enough to go there.efinitely I will go back again.

I was very disappointed to be honest, I thought it was really a 5 stars hotel. It should be rated as 2 stars. It’s not clean, the rods and things are all rusty the coach in the room was dirty. It’s not close to the town centre.

Uncomfortable stay

People offer you deals and when you get it , it’s really different than how they exsplain it to you . On the other hand they ask for money for any service they provide in unlegal way how ever its free stuff as food or room service. Taxi price is super expensive than normal or stress price triple the proce . Adventure center is the worst service ever.

Actually . Staying at Shareton Sharm was okey . Every thing was fine , but there is something weird about the hosts they weren't very welcoming as I expected they were normal and they should tell us about the hotel and what is he offers to the guests .

NIC HOTEL

This hotel is really 2 different hotels.

The villa side seems nice, but we stayed on the "hotel" side. The rooms were dated and the 2 rooms we had both had problems. One room had a broken sofa, the other smelled like mildew. After talking to other guests, they all said that we should stay where we were because they all had problems. The management was very nice, and the food was fine. Probably won't stay here again though.

Sheraton sharm hotel is much better than sheraton resort .

Good service, mediocre beach.

Friendly staff, but it's best not to get all inclusive. Buffet are reasonable for breakfast but dinners and middy snacks are not worth paying for. Beach also is very rocky and offer very limited access to the water. Drive to the center is about 15 min and cost around 50 EP each way. you can find a variety of good food in the local places that are better and way cheaper than hotel restaurants.

Hotel is great as well as staff; breakfast is excellent and dinner is good. The only problem is wifi is not free and expensive, $10 for an hour! even when I bought an hour, internet was very very slow.

The Perfect Honeymoon

I cannot fault this hotel in any way. From the welcome to the send off - the staff were friendly, attentive & accommodating ... They were at the room door within 5 minutes of calling them! The location was perfection, the room was comfortable & spotless (not to mention that it was EXACTLY as in the photo). Tour guides, transport (free) & activities were all within the resort. I would recommend it to anybody & plan a visit back very soon!!

Great choice for a romantic getaway

Way more than I expected for the price. Had a beautiful view of the Red Sea and the room was cozy. Recommend booking as all inclusive. Will revisit.

Beautiful Resort But....

This resort is approximatley 20 - 30 minute drive from the airport. The Grand Sharm is tucked away in a idol corner area of Egypt. off the main dirve. If you are looking for quality couple time and isolation you have it here. But if you want to drive to the grand sharm el shiek boardwalk you have to take a cab and dirve about 10-15 minutes. Same for any other enterainment spots casinos, resteraunts, etc... The resort is very nice, spacious and large walking paths, great main pool area. A focus on customer room service is required. There are no mini bars in the room even with all inclusive rate. Room service takes a long time to respond. The room is large and has potential but is not upgraded with the latest decor. The bed is noisy. At best 3 star facility not 5 star. The 1 main resteraunt has good food and the servers accomodate you. Entertainment is occassional. If you are looking for a getaway all inclusive 5 star resort your expectations are about 1/2.

Beautiful Hotel.but not 5 star quality

The hotel is absolutely beautiful. The hotel offers several pools and the beach is gorgeous. The staff were polite, friendly and for the most part helpful. The food at the restuarants was delicious; both Italian and Indian and their staff were fantastic. The staff at both restuarants were attentive and delivered 5 star service. The buffet breakfast accomodated just about every culture which was excellent. My biggest complaint about the Sheraton is that it is rated a 5 star but the quality of service provided by the hotel is not 5 star. You have to pay for everything... You cannot use the spa pools unless you get a spa treatment. They don't even provide a shuttle to the airport (the claim was that I was taking an international flight and it took longer... when in all actuality there are no international flights from Sharm and all flights leaving Sharm are domestic because they go to Cairo. In fact the hotel provides a limo service that has outrageous prices as compared to the regular taxis (which by the way the hotel won't even permit past the security gate). That is even okay for security consderations but the limo should at least be competitive since the hotel has limited shuttle service to town. We had an early morning flight to Cairo for a tour and was not even provided with a "to go" breakfast box. In fact when my daughter inquiried about the breakfast she was told she had to go to the resort side (we paid for the full breakfast package). I brought this up to "guest affairs" who told me she would report it to management but nothing was said when I checked out. Also, I took one item from the mini bar that cost (according to their price list) 15 Egyptian pounds. When I checked out they wanted to charge me 25 egyptian pounds. When I asked why the price difference I was given some flaky reason about the difference being for Unicef. After I questioned it the price went back to 15. This is not 5 star quality. I have stayed in many 5 star hotels; Hyatts, Westin, other Sheratons, Ritz, and this one by far lacks the 5 star quality I am used to.

Strange behavior

Excellent hotel in terms of comfort and cleanliness, but be aware of strange behavior of staff at the check out desk.. Like they can charge you for use of mini bar, which you never used (like for me - 20 USD for Coca-Cola & Sprite, which I never can drink!).. All good impression broke at the check-out day. Service overall not in Sheraton's level in Egypt.

The good, The bad and the ugly

The hotel is very nice, rooms in the main hotel building are spaciouce and all have sea view. Rooms are very clean and spacious. The hotel Staff are very freindly and they all go out of their way to make you comfortable. The rooms are far from the pool side and beach, had a very long walk to and from the room every day. Food quality and vriaty is not more than three star, very poor for a five star hotel. Internet service charge i felt it was designed to rip customers off, you have a choice to purchase 30Min, 1 hour and one day of inetnet service however if you disconnect before the time is up you have to purchase an new package for the inetrnet you can not continue where you left off.

Awesome!

The hotel was great, staff was professional and helpful. The food was pretty good (not necessarily 5 star quality, but definitely well prepared) and while they were overpriced the drinks were very well made. Lots of activities for nearly any taste, and if you weren't interested in doing anything of importance there is a huge stretch of beach that is perfect for laying out and enjoying the sun. Or go snorkeling, some of the most beautiful snorkeling/diving I've ever done was right there in front of the hotel. Highly recommended, and I plan on going again! Oh, one small drawback, for those who want to go to "down town" its a little ways away.

Great facilities, fantastic service!

It was my first time in Sharm el Sheikh and I didn't really know what to expect because the online reviews vary drastically. After a long flight, I finally arrived at the place and was extremely pleased with how I was welcomed by the hotel staff. They picked me up from the airport, carried my bags for me, etc. My room had the perfect view of the ocean and the island from my spacious balcony. All the staff personnel were friendly, smiling, and helpful (better than Cancun). The majority of the guests at the complex are Russian and Italian - they are easy to talk to even if they don't speak English. Oh, yeah, there is a lot of exotic fishes in the ocean... The manager at the hotel is Karim - he can make things happen!

Good place, good price through Expedia

I was in the Resort portion of the hotel complex, which was more economy-line than the main part of the hotel. Consequently, everything was nice and clean in the room, but not very luxurious. The shower and hairdryer needed repair during my stay. However, service and cleanliness was top-notch. $25 per day for Internet access seemed a little high. But at least it worked ok. Absolutely recommended.

Vacation OK, Business not so OK

Staff was friendly and helpful. My room was right next to the outdoor theatre and they played loud music every night until late. Food was mediocre. Internet and taxis were expensive. This hotel/resort/villas/spa might have been fine for a vacation but I was there on business and it was not so good for that. Given that every other hotel in the area is similar in setup, business travellers might not have much choice.

Not great but a nice reef for snorkelling

While the grounds and beach of this resort/hotel are beautiful and carefully tended this is the only area of the hotel to which the 4 star rating applies. Restaurants are indifferent and pricey if you are not all inclusive. The smart one on the beach served our meal cold after it had been cooked and left hanging around for a good 15 minutes before being brought to the table, our drinks were forgotten by the waiter as was a request for ice to cool a warm soft drink delivered earlier. Cleaning and reception staff are charming. Breakfast quality depends on the chef on duty and varied from good to appalling (burnt pancakes, really heavily salted scrambled eggs) Our room was large and comfy and I didn't care about the tatty bathroom, the non working TV or the loo that ran all night and the cracked tiles. There was plenty of hot water although sometimes the cold was mysteriously unavailable. We got a cheap price on the room which was not in the main hotel so I was happy enough. The beach and the private reef are stunning. The main dining area seemed to be packed with overweight scantily clad guests intent on eating as much free/inclusive food as possible. The free bus service is woefully inadequate and oversubscribed by 7.05 in the morning (booking opens at 7am) and taxis to town are costly. What I would like to see there. A decent snack bar which stocked a good range of "cold" cold drinks.
