Location excellent
Excellent location, kind staff, clean, comfortable bed, good leisure facilities.
The hotel is old and the water pressure is very low, making it difficult to take shower.Breakfast and dinners are average.
Best staff ever. Great and clean hotel. Will definitely be back for my next stay.
Good, comfortable hotel with plenty of space. Great breakfast with lots of options. The only negative was that the room smelled like cigarettes which was annoying.
First time in Guilin and this hotel has offered its best to us. Room was very spacious. Staffs were very helpful which made our stay even better. Minute walk to 步行街 with lots of shops and dining option. Will definitely book again.
Solid 4 star
Good hotel and good location.
My friend and I stayed here for a few days and received excellent service checking in and out. The location is excellent and is in very close proximity to the pedestrian street, Elephant Trunk hill, Sun and Moon Pagodas, etc. Due to increasing COVID cases in China, we wanted to check out early, and the hotel refunded our extra days without any problem. Almost all of the staff we interacted with spoke English and were friendly and helpful. If you want to swim, be sure to bring a swim cap - they very forcefully enforce this rule (another guest had a whistle blown at him repeatedly for trying to get in without one - could have been handled more professionally on the part of the pool attendant). Also, there were bats swooping around the pool in the evening - maybe it's better to swim during the day.
Renovated
As of June 2021, the hotel is being renovated. Everything in my room was brand-new and spotlessly clean, and the carpets in the hallways had all been replaced very recently. My only complaint is that the bathroom lighting was a bit dark. Everything else was perfect.
The location is unbeatable. The staff is friendly and particularly Candy Hu at the reception, always there to help with a great smile.
Small Guilin visits Big Guilin
Staff are good and good manners. There are free in-house program to entertain guests.Location is convenient with lots of shopping sites and restaurants.
This hotel was beautiful, right on the river and close to everything. I am in a wheelchair and the staff was wonderful. There is no wheelchair access to the main breakfast buffet so they let us go upstairs to what, I assume, is a VIP dining area. Also, there was a marathon run the morning we were to catch our plane and no taxis could get in. They sent us to the airport in the hotel van. This is service above and beyond and was greatly appreciated!!!! All the staff was wonderful, the breakfast was great, the room was clean...everything was perfect!
breakfast no good
everything is fine. People is nice. The breakfast buffet is no good. There are so little choice.
Great place to stay and a great location
Guilin is undoubtedly a beautiful city and very well manicured. The hotel is in a great location, opposite the stunning Lijiang river and beautiful gardens. The markets are close by for delicious food. The room was extremely comfortable and had good facilities and breakfast was delicious. The staff provided great service. The only small downside was the strong smell of cigarette smoke which often drifted into the bathroom, through the air con vents. Other than that, this is a great hotel and we would definitely stay here again on future visits.
Poor w i F i at room
This hotel needs renovation.
We stayed at this hotel for one night before we went to Yangshuo. It has a nice location as it’s near Zhengyang Pedestrian Street. But it looked pretty old with dirty carpet in the public area. The room has very small bed and the bathroom smelled.
No comments on this particular inquiry , very compatible with others hotel in Guilin and surrounding area, with the exception is prices a bit more than other
Great Location! Nice Hotel!
I really enjoyed this hotel. The location was perfect, and the staff were nice. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The restaurant was not overpriced and the staff were friendly. The food was just ok, but I ordered Western food so they just weren't as good at making that. It was right in the middle of the town with easy walking to the sights and the theater. There are many tourist offices (like more than 10+) within walking distance to this hotel, so don't be sold on the tours at the hotel--you can get more choices for a better price by booking down the road. Shop around for the best deal and for the best times for what you are looking for.
Excellent A+++
Nice area right in the center.
Very kind receptionist
Miss Candy Hu at the front desk was very kind and helpful.
Great hotel. I read some mixed reviews, but coud not see anything bad there. The only thing I can think of is that since I had a Club executive room and I cannot be sure that their regular rooms are as great.
Not very good
Not provide breakfast even booked with breakfast
Value for money but not outstanding
Excellent location but too old a hotel. Ordinary service as expected. The local tour information desk and the massage services are just 3-star standard.Too many tour customers that make the hotel look cheap.
Horrible and rude manager
Although the hotel itself is fine, the check in and the manager were horrible. He didn’t want to talk to us.
first stay room is nice and comfortable. extended stay due to train cancellation. room not as good.
Central location
Great base for sightseeing around Guilin right on the river and very central.
Don't go there
Calling this worn, service-free hotel 5-star is a joke. Unfriendly staff, worn facilities.
Best hotel around the area, will recommend to freind
Great location. Nice hotel.
Enjoyed our stay. The hotel was located just across from the Li River and there’s a nice pedestrian market just next to the hotel.
We had a good sized room with lots of amenities. However, the hotel is understaffed. At reception there was always a long wait. We wanted to book a boat to Yangshuo but the Tourist Affairs person was never around and when she was called several times she came after half an hour. Then we discovered that she didn't know a word in English! Every additional thing at hotel was expensive, including breakfast. The electricity was off for 3 hours and it was 37 degrees. All our floor were up in arms. Lots of excuses but no apology.
Great location
The hotel has a perfect location (1 Block to the main food street, 5min walking to the shopping street). Breakfast offers many choices. The stuff is very nice but extremely slow at the reception. Overall great experience.
Hotel carpet needs cleaning or changing.
Convenient location
Pleasing experience Strategic location to many places of attraction and food Stayed for 5 nights however Staffs were not knowledgeable about their surroundings facilities, even the ones behind their hotel They will reply that they do not know to many of the questions and did not assist much, disappointing for such a reputable hotel
Great Hotel in Guilin
We spent two nights at the Sheraton Guilin. Great hotel, very centrally located in the middle of Guilin. Very clean with a very courteous staff. We had full days of touring so didn't have a chance to sample breakfast, lunch or dinner but the café had a good crowd at breakfast. Nice to come back to a comfortable room after a long day of sightseeing.
We were very pleased with the hotel, service and location.
Good hotel close to lake and restaurants and shopp
Nice hotel and a highlight was the very extensive breakfast menu.A strange disappointment was a loud clunking noise intruding our nights from the service lifts nearby.I am surprised a reputed hotel can allow this!
Convenient hotel but getting old
Hotel walking distance to the famous elephant park. Nice Sun Moon pagoda park near by too. Many local eating place nearby. However, hotel is getting old and showed in the bathroom shower. There are also different kind of noise compared to other hotels. They gave us a supposedly quiet room back facing the garden and away from elevator but we heard Karaoke singing till about 11PM. In the morning we kept on hearing clinking noise of cutlery hitting plates from the front door facing the atrium with the buffet breakfast.
Great location and view
There were 10 of us in the group, checkin was quick, friendly staff at the counter, centrally located with shopping nearby, great views of river and mountains. Fantastic night lights.
Nice location.
Location is fantastic. It was all good until they let the lobby be used as a Chinese wedding banquet with too many tables and loud announcer that echoed through the whole building. I complained to the manager, and they offered to give me a different quieter room (too late) and sent a complimentary tray of fruits. But they should not impose this on all the guests, period. The concierge seems to be missing lots of time.
Disappointing
The hotel is too old and is in desperate need of refurbishment. The staff were cold and the breakfast was disappointing. The upside is the great location and a tours desk which offered a good selection of activities at reasonable prices. The hotel was running multiple weddings while we were there. This involved the entire lobby being taken over for a wedding reception and all the entrances being dominated by photographers. It made you feel like you were intruding just by being there.
Standard international chain hotel
Hotel in a good location. There was some very noisy construction going on in reception while I was there, which due to the design with the restaurant and club lounge open to the reception area was noise that couldn't really be got away from. Odd cocktail hours for the club lounge (4-6) and consequently pretty empty
Couple holidays
The hotel is quite old although well maintained. If you wish to stay at room with river view, make sure you request for highest floor otherwise you will be looking at trees only. Facilities do not concur with 5 star rating as there's only a miserable sauna. Buffet breakfast also not up to marks as not enough spread. Staff service is just excellent.
Decent and comfortable.
I chose this hotel as a gift for my parents as they were visiting Guilin. The location is very centralized and is convenience to access main shopping district. They were happy with their stay and enjoyed having a room view facing the river. Alin Li from Reservation Department has been a great help through the entire reservation process, I will definitely recommend Guilin Sheraton again if my parents or myself would ever visit Guilin in the near future.
Nice rooms and great location!
We did 2 overnight stays at the Sheraton Guilin on our way to and from Yongshuo. Our rooms on both occasions were very large and clean with a nice view of the river. We had the concierge arrange a taxi van to take us to the airport, which he did, however the staff at the hotel didn't seem to have a record of it. It was all a little confusing. That being said, the hotel is very clean and the location is terrific. There's great food stalls behind the hotel and a pedestrian shopping street.. Also, a great Indian restaurant for a change of pace.
Great location - not so great rooms
The hotel was nice in terms of amenities but the room was not up to a 5-star hotel. First day found that the shampoo bottle was filled with just water. Toilet flush was stuck, called service team thrice and they came and fixed three times. I was then tired off the problem and requested a room change and that did not happen until the next day. Meanwhile, we were offered a dirty room on the same floor to use the restroom. To be fair, the hotel staff were friendly and courteous and were helpful throughout. May be the hotel was really full that day but I did not expect that kind of a room in a Sheraton. Hotel location was awesome..right in front of the Li river and next to a huge market and tons of restaurants and street food.
Explore Guilin
Nice clean hotel, friendly welcome. We were only there one night but its a good base from which to explore Guilin.
Big old hotel renovated
Very well located the hotel was big and comfortable, however we had to change twice our room because of air conditioning issues or humidity issues. The location to restaurants and places to visit was great. Very easy to walk outside the hotel.
The carpet is dirty
Generally ok and clean but needs modernization
We were advised that this hotel was built in 1985 and it certainly does need modernizing. Bathroom fittings looked as though they were from the 80s with for example no thermostatic shower valves, so the shower temperature is not regulated. Safe looked like something out of the cold war, and was stuck in the shut position on arrival so we could not use. The kettle electric plug would not plug in where located and we had to plug in to a another socket on the floor. Neither of the two European style sockets would work so we had to use our adapters. However the room was overall clean and beds relatively comfortable. Did not use the swimming pool but it looked reasonable from our room window. Staff were ok and generally helpful. They have a good Concierge if you ask for help. However we did not initially know about the concierge as nobody came to pick up our bags on arrival and when we asked regarding tours we were directed by the front desk not to the concierge but initially to one of the private tour operators in the foyer. Breakfast was a grim affair. Food is ok if you arrive early but gets stale later on. Cleanliness is questionable as when you hold the armchairs they are obviously sticky under the arms where cleaning has been neglected. Overall i would say that this hotel is ok but falls well below what is expected from the Sheraton brand. The big redeeming factor is the location, right in the center of town close to shops and on the Li river with nice viees.
Very good experience
Central location, could use some refreshing
This location is fantastic, if you like being in the middle of the city, with pedestrian malls in the back, the river boulevard in the front. On the down side, the hotel is showing its age and the inside is a bit dark. The safe is not big enough to fit a laptop, but the service staff are very friendly.
Recommend!
In the heart of town, across from a beautiful lake park, and the other side is the night market. Location, location, location!! Hotel is well runned.
Nice hotel closer to everything even attractions
It's a 4 star hotel. I got a big room with the front door facing the lobby and dining hall and back door facing the front street but it was quiet, no noises from the street (it was the 4th floors). A huge king bed and everything is so comfortable. The back of the hotel will take you to shops and then commercial districts; in front of the hotel is a river and then you can walk to Elephant hills.
A/C is not working at all...it was winter time but the weather wasn't so cold ..but a/c didn't work at all ...we told front desk , they sent a guy to fix it & offered move to different room ..but the guy told us it will be the same condition that a/c won't work ..Breakfast buffee was good but if u came around 8 it will be late ; almost will be gone ...
The staffs are not profresional,i felt not welcome
Sheraton is a good brand name, but the staffs at the check in counter should be more friendly, room is ok, bed is comfortable, rest room is 3 stars, overall it's not worth for the money to stay
great location. helpful staff
Very good location if you look for city centre
Overall is fine, hotel staff are general nice but lack of smile, most of them are passive, not proactive enough to offer help.
Great place to stay in Guilin.
We enjoyed our stay very much.
My stay was good, the place is convenient to the nearby shopping area. Love the room, was spacious and good... Definitely will come back again to this hotel
Needs deep cleaning
We were given a room at first that was dingy and smelled of cigarette smoke. I moved into another room but the carpets were filthy and smelled like a locker room. Very unpleasant.
Very bad experience
Very bad service. Breakfast was disgusting. Rooms are not really clean. Over rated.
Great location but rather old
Location is very convenient. Zhenyang Shopping street is just behind hotel. The hotel is clean but old.
Very bad Smell in the room, like nobody living inside for at least 30 years.
Nice Hotel
Nice hotel with good sized rooms. Room was really clean & everything was perfectly functioning. It is in a quieter area of Guilin just opposite the Li River. There is a main dining street behind although not all the restaurants/cafes there were good (we had 2 bad meals there). Price wasn't exactly cheap by China standards although for the Sheraton brand, it was acceptable (USD$110 per night). However the place & deco was beginning to show its age. It was not as luxurious as expected & slightly not up to par for a Sheraton Hotel. An upgrade might be needed soon. Front desk was helpful & informative. There is always an English speaking staff at the front desk so this is very useful for customers who do not speak Chinese. Special mention goes to the female front desk staff who got me to join the Starwood Club & we got a free room upgrade during check-in.
Short stay, but good impression overall
We were only there briefly on our way through, but the hotel was very nice, and the staff very accommodating and friendly.
Nice enough hotel close to main strip of shops
Only stayed here a night before the tour down the river but the hotel was perfectly fine. Some staff spoke enough english to get by. Breakfast was standard buffet style, mix of western and eastern foods.
Lee from NY
The room was very good, but not the breakfast. Not enough variety, not enough air condition.
Great location near an awesome pedestrian street!
The best part of this hotel was the location. While not far from the main sites like Fubo Hill and Elephant Trunk hill, it was also along a great pedestrian street where I ate all my meals. Skip the breakfast buffet and head out onto the street for some awesome street food. There are also lots of places to shop for souvenirs. Also the airport shuttle takes you the aviation hotel and this hotel is just a short cab ride away from the stop.
Nice hotel in the downtown, services very good.
Pleasant atmosphere, we felt very safe and comfortable. The staff very well trained, efficient, ready to help. Excellent location in the downtown!!
A +
Great price. Good, clean hotel. Would recommend it!
Lousy stay
Paid the price for 5stars hotel but it's like 3stars hotel there's no bell boys in entrance n for taxi services. And have to pay rmb 80 for foundation fund which is not mention when booking only the f&b prices is 5 stars
Nice Hotel in an Excellent Location
The location is great as it is just a short walk to many restaurants and shops. It is also near the Elephant Hill and the pier to get onto the river cruise. It is an older hotel; hence, the carpet is dated. Some of the amenities don't seem to be of the same standard as the Sheraton brand.
Excellent location
Excellent location in the heart of town, spacious, comfortable room. Helpful staff
Good hotel pleasant service good location
The Sheraton is a pleasant hotel in a good area which is very convenient for the Sun and Moon Lake area.
Pleasant hotel right in the centre of town
The hotel is right in the centre of town next to the river and near to all of the bars, shops and restaurants. Staff were pleasant and helpful but the room was a little dated and smelt damp. The doors to the rooms overlooked a central courtyard area which was very noisy, even in the early hours with staff clattering crockery, vacuuming and talking.
Perfect for what I wanted
Great location. Clean hotel. Nice room. Great A/C!
Guilin, a great place to stay
A fantastic hotel overlooking the le river, we were made to feel welcome from the minute we walked through the door. A beautiful large room, very clean and very comfortable. our only disappointment was that we were only there for one night. Hopefully one day we will return for more/
A Nice Hotel
I stayed at Sheraton Guilin June 01-05 for 4 nights. The room is spacious and clean. The room keeping maid did a wonderful job to tidy up the room every day and replenish all the stuff. The hotel is located with close proximity to the Walking Street ( 3 minutes walking)where you can find all the local eating places and shopping. The Travel Help Desk assisted us to book all the arrangement for trip to Li River and Yang Shuo. As a Canadian visiting Guilin first time, their service is most helpful. The only concern was the first evening we arriving the hotel. As we were tired and wished to take the dinner at the Restaurant ( buffet - coffee shop ), we were surprised the entire restaurant was fully booked for a birthday party of a local customer and not even a table is available for the hotel guest. Strange practice for a 5 star hotel as priority should always given to in-house hotel guest. The Hotel is almost 40 years old but well maintained.
Beautiful hotel near shopping district
Nice and beautiful hotel near shopping district. Food oulets is plentiful within walking distance.
Short Stay in Guilin
We were able to check-in early and the staff speak English. Hotel is near elephant trunk hill and waterfall. Though we were unable to find the mall which was stated on the other reviews. Overall, this hotel is highly recommended for a short stay in Guilin.
Over priced
I don't think anyone would ever stay here a second time.
Great hotel good location
Everything was great. Excellent location, excellent facilities and Guilin is a must see
Good stay
Very good stay in hotel
great hotel in heart of guilin
the hotel was in a great location and Sheraton property was well maintained.
very good hotel ,good locality, very clean.
excellent hotel, good room, service excellent.very helpful with river li tour but ,a lot more expensive than other tour groups.
Sheraton Guilin
My stay here at the Sheraton was not the best overnight. I smelt people smoking in my hallway and was missing hotel room inventory items from my room.
Nice location and great breakfast
Nice location, within walking distance to some attractions, shopping area and restaurants. Breakfast selection is excellent, best breakfast I had in hotels. The shop inside hotel has native food/snacks for sale at low prices.
International hotels in Guilin
Though I have not stayed in other hotels in Guilin for the past 5 years, Sheraton Guilin is my choice because it is managed by Sheraton.
A comfortable hotel in an interesting area
We were only at the hotel for a night on our way to Yangshou. Although the building looks a little run down from the outside the rooms are very comfortable and the staff are most helpful. The area in which it is located also has a good mix of European and Chinese restaurants so it is well-suited to travellers who are looking for a bit of a break from Chinese food and beer.
good location
The hotel is good..good location just walking outside is already shopping area and scenic area..but when i am staying, there is a maintenance and it a bit distrubing me..anyway is a good hotel and strategic location..will stay again
Guilin awesome
Great service, great staff, great place :)
Great hotel while staying in unfamiliar area
My stay at the Sheraton hotel was a good experience, considering I was a western traveler with no ability to speak to local language. I went to Guilin so I could cruise down the Lijiang River. As far as Guilin goes, there is really nothing to do. I would suggest staying in Yangshuo if you want a neat place to spend a few days. I only stayed in Guilin because that is where the river cruise started. I loved the Sheraton hotel because it made me feel comfortable in an area I was unfamiliar. As far as the hotel goes, I would highly recommend it if you are staying in Guilin, however I wouldn't stay in Guilin for longer than 24 hours. Make your way down to Yangshuo instead!
OK as an overnight stop
Just about ok as an overnight stop - kinda like a motel really. Has seen better days. Needs to be renovated.
excellent
Great. Room superb. Staff very nice and welcoming. I had a very good time and memorable stay at Sheraton. Unfortunately I could not gain any points to my spg account.
Watch for the Noise
Staff were very friendly but did take a little too long to organise check-in. The room was on the 5th floor with a view of the river through the trees. The hotel is pretty centrally located and within walking distance of a number of the sights, shops and restaurants. Our only complaint was the noise. On 2 of the 3 nights there was loud bassy music which was played until 11:30. There was no music during our middle night there. I am not sure if other parts of the hotel were free of the noise because the windows were vibrating to the loud music. No. we did not complain about the noise because it was quiet on the second night and it did cease at 11:30.
hotel location
ok
great location
feel happy
Good

The lake room we had did have a good view of the pagodas but that was all. The room window wouldn’t close, the
